Can keep template emails that you can save and amend at any future date. User friendly and great functions for free. Pros I use EmailOctopus for my small business. I use the free version and use get some great features for free. I set up weekly campaigns and send out to different groups, ie schools and nurseries. I have draft emails that are easy to amend and make copies of to keep and amend at future dates. I love how you can look back in each campaign to see the percentage of opened emails and also who has clicked on links. So easy to keep your contacts all in once place and organised in groups. I also really appreciate the care for the environment that they have. Pros I like that it has been an easy switch from Mailchimp. It is way more affordable, and I like that there are real people behind the company. Every time I have emailed about something I have received a thoughtful reply and they have even implemented one of my requests as a new function for emails. I am happy with the automations, and the way that I can segment my subscribers. I also really enjoy their emails, and actually open and read them. Thank you for not sending them too often. Just overall a happy customer. Cons I'm not sure. I have sent feedback before about adding some additional functions to templates but off the top of my head I can't remember what those were anymore. Pros I found it easy to learn and use—very intuitive. Also, customer support is excellent. This was a huge factor for me because my previous service was not helpful. They spoke in tech terms. Their response to my tech support requests were slow and when they did come, I couldn't understand the "techy" language and had to get my own help from friends who were more tech savvy then me. I find all the support in the knowledge base that I've used easy to understand. I've been able to set up my own segmented lists to cull my contacts and to set up landing pages etc. on my own. I have tried many email marketing providers and this is by far my favourite. Because they are so generous with their free plan and don't keep asking me to upgrade every time I try to do something on the portal (eg. Aweber etc), I feel that I want to upgrade and as soon as I build my list, I will do. Pros I can get started with my list for free, with great delivery rates, good templates, and an easy to use dashboard. Cons I'd like a few more options, such as rss blog option when writing my newsletter, but it could be that I am on limited options due to the free plan so I'm not complaining. The customer service team are really helpful and responsive, and the programme itself has made sending out interactive, optimised emails a dream. It's also very reasonably priced for what you get. I'm very happy to have stumbled upon it. Pros It's very user-friendly and simplifies setting up my brand identity as I can save bespoke colours and logos to use week on week. I don't feel overly restricted with design, and there are always new features being released that help and inspire me to create more interesting emails. Cons I would like to be able to change my default settings so that I don't have to remember to untick/tick certain options before I release a campaign. I would also like slightly more flexibility with image placement. Pros As a product manager building out a lean marketing stack, I’ve tried a lot of email platforms — and EmailOctopus has quickly become one of my favorites. The UI is clean, intuitive and easy to navigate, which makes managing campaigns feel effortless. One standout feature that sold me? They let you use their physical address for compliance — a huge relief for solo founders or freelancers who don’t want to publish their home address to meet email regulations. Support has been responsive and helpful whenever I’ve had questions, and the platform feels thoughtfully designed from both a technical and UX perspective. Cons The only downside? It’s a bit lesser known than some competitors, so I had to spend more time setting up HTTP GET/PULL requests and integrations compared to more mainstream tools. We were looking for speed and flexibility and we found it. Our overall experience has been great. We've seen good results from our first email with EO and are planning more campaigns based on those results. Pros I love the ease with which I can navigate this platform. No overly complicated processes. It's agile and serves our needs very well. Cons No complaints, but a couple of recommendations: 1) show a database of all contacts along with the individual lists. Searching for a single contact is simpler when you don't have to search multiple times through multiple lists; 2) make the diagrams on the report page clickable to see each one's full report. Pros I like the simplicity, and the HTML email builder to code my own, the reports are easy to read, for that quick analytics to see how the campaign is going, or to check the past campaign status. Cons It will be great to have multiple user account access, each with their own login details, or a agency plan. They have the best value and the best customer service in the industry. Pros EmailOctopus is not only affordable and easy to learn, they also have \*terrific\* customer service. I recommend EO all the time to other authors. Cons I honestly can’t think of anything. I know that sounds crazy, lol, but I’m just really impressed by them. They’re filling the space that MailerLite is leaving behind, by being affordable and easy to use. EO is going to be the go-to email platform in a couple of years, I think. Whenever I've needed help adding something, the user support is terrific and features are well-documented. Cons In the editing windows (such as adding new sections or blocks), sometimes the scroll bars are hard to access - certain icons like Trash get pushed off the editing screen. August 2, 2025 5.0 I like how easy it is to \[1\] sign up \[2\] import CSV \[3\] Create a campaign \[4\] duplicate a campaign so I do not have to start from scratch every time. Pros I like the flexible payment plans, including being able to start with a free plan. Next, I like how easy it is to use, from building and managing an address book to creating a new campaign. I like that I can queue campaigns ahead of time! Cons The week for scheduling defaults to begin on Monday, and that there is no way to change it to Sunday. I have to be careful to select the day-of-the-week. However, it is REALLY easy to "unschedule" a campaign and reschedule it for the correct date. Top customer service! Cons I have found the merge tags confusing, as they seems to work sometimes and not other times. Once the save function just decided to not work and the campaign did not save any of the work I had done which had taken me all morning. thankfully I had saved some of my content on a word document so was able to get it back but it added a lot of extra work and time. While there are a couple of limitations, like the lack of an undo button in the email builder and the inability to send campaigns to multiple lists at once, these are manageable and don’t outweigh the overall value the platform provides. Pros I really like that EmailOctopus offers a wide range of features even in the free plan, which is perfect for small businesses and beginners. I've only had one need for support in 18 months, and that was fixed relatively promptly (considering I don't pay for the service!). Cons I think it would be good to have a lower-priced basic tier which just let you save past campaigns beyond the timer period of auto-deletion you get with free. I came over from GoDaddy whose newsletter is complicated and limited. They make you look really good. You should send them a thank you letter. I was with Mail Chimp before that and for some reason they started to want to charge me. I don't even have 200 emails yet it doesn't make sense to pay. I have been really impressed with y'all and am truly grateful for your service. Pros I like that it's intuitive and easy to figure out how to use. I am also really impressed by being able to see who opened it, who clicked through and the times. I have told a few friends about this. Cons I haven't been able to figure out how to move the landing page to my website yet and I don't like the button to sign up being purple. It doesn't go with my website colors. I had researched a lot before going to GoDaddy. It started to get complicated and I have mild ptsd from dealing with GoDaddy so I quit and moved on. If you write a sentence and double space to start another they call that a different segment. Their website builder also doesn't allow you to copy from one source and paste into it.
