Content Designer Design Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Easy email marketing" October 24, 2022 4.0 Overall, I always recommend EmailOctopus for email marketing as it has everything most people will need to get going and it is relatively inexpensive. Pros I've used EmailOctopus for my own projects and recommended it to clients too. It's very easy to get a template set up and you can import subscribers and start sending pretty quickly. It's got most of the features that most people need and does away with the often surplus bells and whistles you get with some other products. Cons While I had no problem, less technical members of the team I worked with didn't always find it easy to use the email builder interface. We needed something that we could start with for free, and graduate up to a paid plan as needed. This does everything we need, including the ability to create scheduled email sequences. When you reach the threshold for a paid plan, the prices are very reasonable. Also we have noticed that our emails are landing in the spam box much less than with our previous provider. And I haven't even talked about how affordable and how much of an "obvious" choice it is for individuals and small teams. Cons I wish there were some more options for building lead capture landing pages that don't look that generic and "marketingy" like. I came over discouraged AF from trying MailChimp. Anyone whoever used MailChimp either has a degree in the software or hired someone. It is ridiculously difficult to use and it embeds itself into everything. EmailOctopus is so simple and effective. I got real-time results and I ended up making quite a bit of money emailing old customers. I will definitely be using EmailOctobus from here on out. Cons The only thing I didn't like is that I didn't find it sooner. The ability to choose from templates or create your own is a great feature! Being able to see who has been sent an email, see when they opened it, and if they clicked on any links is such a wonderful feature for our school! Great costumer service as well. This is the first time our company has ever used an email platform software and it has made my job so much more efficient and the communication between our entire membership and school has never been stronger before! On top of that, I finally get to do something in my position that is creative, I love playing around with the templates and adding my special touches, it has helped me bring fun into my job! Cons I would of loved more flexibility in creating my own templates, some features as far as how the emails look but other than that nothing! It really is the right solution for us. Pros It is the price and simplicity that drew me to EmailOctopus and make it the right solution for our organization. While it lacks some of the advanced features of competitors like MailChimp and Constant Contact, it has the features that we need to manage our email campaigns. List management, simple segmentation, basic email campaigns, and a simple editor that makes it easy to create good looking emails is exactly what we needed. Cons I wish that we could do a little more with the custom fields in the member lists. For example, you can't include dynamic content based on a field on a subscriber's profile except for the contents of the field itself. The templates are simple and impactful, making sending new email campaigns an absolute breeze instead of a full-time job. Cons The only thing I would suggest is that email octopus develop an app for mobile users. That would make it even easier to use! Great customer support received during the onboarding process. Pros I love the campaign analytics portion of being able to see when and how often a user interacted with a campaign. Being able to schedule and create automated campaigns is a critical piece of interacting with our subscriber base. Cons Some of the WYSIWYG features could be improved. Sometimes the cut and paste of text completely removes all of the line breaks which can make it tedious when dealing with multiple lines of text.
