Pros: Gives me all the info I need on guests from the start. I went from having to email back and forth, to guests knowing exactly what we offer and us knowing exactly what I need to make them happy.

Cons: I would like there to be a way to add the calendar to our website so that Guests can see dated that we already have bookings

Overall: As I stated we were emailing back and forth now guests get the info upfront

I feel like we were living in the stone age before Gather!

Pros: That every document is updated in real time. I save so much time this way. The ease of creating and updating BEOs.

Cons: I am not a fan of the new logo and look of BEOs. Otherwise everything is great! I love Gather!!!!!!

Overall: Endless benefits. I book more events, can easily look up correspondence with clients and other team members. I can better organize my financials. Nothing seems to fall through the cracks now that we use Gather

Pros: Ease of use, the preset templates, email that's connected to both the Gather system and my email and giving limited access to different types of employees.

Cons: iPhone app needs to be more versatile, the widget we have on our website that was provided by Gather needs to have more fields for more info on food and beverage questions so when we respond to leads we have more info from the start which.

Great product. Made our business grow faster than expected.

Pros: Easy to use. Less than a minute to create prospect events. You can even prepay online. Costumers are able to leave feedback. Continuous costumer assistance and improvements. Complimentary webinars.

Cons: Some reports require a bit more polishing but aside from that I cannot seem to find any cons for this software.

Overall: All my F&B team, Accounting department are now on the same page every day!

Pros: The ease at which we are able to manage leads and convert them to booked events is very beneficial.

I've been told many times that our clients are happy at the quick turnaround time for answering questions, sending out menus and booking events. Many of these tasks can be completed on the moble app too!

Cons: The app for android was a bit glitchy in the past.

The most recent updates have helped significantly.

It would be great if we were able to request cc payments from the app. I'd also like to have the ability to automatically send (with our customized verbiage) a payment request on preset dates and immediately after the proposal is approved.

Pros: The software is well organized and easily transfers online request through email. The color coding system helps identify easily the event status in the calendar. Printing of menus and event proposals are easy and quick.

Cons: Software often shows green screen and freezes up. Would be helpful if you could more easily import pre-existing contact information.

Overall: Well organized. The software crossed with our email database for ease of import. The messaging system works well for tracking customer contact and the financial page is great for guest to see estimate. Love it is a live link.

Pros: How easy it is to use, and communicate with our entire team! The customization abilities and the user interface.

Cons: The mobile app needs the same functionality as the desktop site. If you guys could provide an update to that system it would be flawless

Pros: The most awesome thing is, I can do everything in one system. I receive leads via Gather, I send and receive emails, book space, create BEO's, collect deposits, send invoices and other documents via Gather. It's the greatest and easiest booking system I've ever used and I've been in the event industry since 1987. The 2nd thing I love about Gather is their customer service. My rep always goes above and beyond every time, is always there to assist me, responds immediately, and is an absolute joy to work with.

Overall: Gather saves me so much time so I'm able to respond to more leads and create proposals and correspond with clients in a more timely manner. All of this frees me up to do more networking outside the office and in turn generate more business for my event space.

The Gather system is very easy to navigate and an asset during our busiest seasons.

Pros: Simplicity and informative. Events can be booked with ease and clarity. Gather is a must for our busiest seasons.

Cons: Sometimes difficult to obtain information for past events easily. Wish it also had reminders or alerts for events that we are awaiting responses for.

Overall: Past present and future events all stored in one place. Can book events quickly and timely. Easily make changes and send out proposals to be approved.

Pros: I like how all the events and details appear on my own calendar. I also like how I can process payment through Gather.

Cons: The financial section - the new rollout makes us edit the financials in the events summary section. For the way we use Gather, it really isn't intuitive nor does it make sense, especially when it comes to adding charges/discounts. This one is pretty minor, but there are times when formatting the events notes section is a bit frustrating. When I press return or copy and paste event notes from another event, hyphens or weird spacing appears, making it read funny on the BEOs. Lastly, wish there was a direct link to copy and paste for payments (requesting cc information). I don't like using the request card from client option directly from Gather.

Overall: Managing and organizing all my events

It makes life so much easier!

Pros: I love the built in messages and attachments. It makes replying to leads so much eaisier and less of a headache.

Cons: The chat box that pops up every time I log into the home page. It's also not as user friendly as it could be. You have to dig deep to get to certain features (like attachments for messages).

Overall: I worked without Gather for a year in an events job and having. gather makes life easier! It's such a great way to organize, communicate with your team and guests. It saves so much time with correspondence and invoice tracking etc.

Gather has allowed our team to see each our business as a whole with everything going on!

Pros: Gather is super easy for client's to understand, easy to get estimate approvals, and easy to collect payments. I really like that you can see timestamps of when clients have opened emails that we send through Gather, it lets us know they've at least reviewed the info so we can adjust when to send for a follow up. It is very easy to add and adjust menus and pricing.

Cons: Some items we would like to have control of for adjusting, such as how to tax and what menus are taxed, and how those menus can be classified, rather than calling support. We would also like documents uploaded to be available on bookings that were created before they were uploaded - currently you can only upload from the drop down list the documents that were uploaded at the time you created that specific booking, so not all the documents are there.

Overall: A central communication spot for our whole team, rather than searching through emails!

Pros: It is user friendly for everyone in the restaurant, cooks, servers and chefs. Everyone in the restaurant uses it. Guests love the ease of approving their proposals and of course the confetti.

Cons: I would like to be able to do more with the mobile app including bookings and detailing the BEO. As of now I can only check for availability and send messages.

Pros: I like that each event has it's own portal for the guest. I book several parties daily. This program has helped me organize multiple events on one day. I really like the template option for email response. This dramatically increases my email response time.

Cons: Not being able to email and book events using the app.
I wish the software was synched with Open Table. Once an event is booked in Gather. ..automatically books on Open Table.

Overall, fairly smooth and easy to use.

Pros: I like the aesthetic of the software and that the Gather team seems to always be working on ways to improve the product.

Cons: I wish that the Task feature functioned more like an alert where some kind of reminder for deadlines would pop up, not only on the page for that particular event, but on the home page and calendar page. If the task feature were a bit more developed then I would be able to stop using Pipedrive altogether. It would also be AWESOME if Gather were integrated with OpenTable or another reservations software system.

I also wish there were more color coding options for different categories of events and phases they're in, such as a color for offsite events, or a color for an event that is confirmed but maybe still has a few details to finalize.

It would also be fantastic if clients could complete their credit card authorization form directly on the Gather Proposal Page so that they do not have to email credit card information or relay it over the phone.

Gather is one of the most intuitive softwares I've used. It's easy to navigate and looks very clean.

Pros: It's easy for clients to view and approve proposals and takes a lot less time for the back-and-forth of approval.

Cons: I wish the full contract were much more obvious in the proposal view so that guests would be required to at least skim over it in the booking approval process. It works well for casual/non-professional users, but I have to use offline contracts for some of our larger clients. I also wish I could set up template Notes.

Overall: Ease of use, convenient access online from any computer, and simple and quick booking process for simple events.

Pros: I like the customer service most of all. If I call Gather after business hours they see my missed call and call me back in the morning.

Cons: Gather functions do not work properly with the Safari browser. It's a problem I've had for a year now and Gather's customer support team's solutions is not to use Safari. I like using Safari!!!

Overall: I save so much time by using Gather to create event proposals. It also keeps my team well informed.

Gather has made my proposal writing 100% better than when I had to write them manually using word.

Pros: We are a restaurant with a huge catering business and this software was designed for an on site caterer with event rooms versus everything being off site like our business model. I am looking forward to the modifications in the future that close the gap on the two concepts better. It has made proposal writing a dream! I love that everything is live across the entire booking with a click of the mouse. The customer service is unbelievable! Everyone is always so pleasant & receptive with all of my questions, comments, concerns & suggestions. The mobile app is great and we want to use it more but the team communication alert email doesn't function on mobile which renders it useless to our team. The reporting seems to constantly improving but we can not connect it to our system so we do not currently use it but I look forward to a day when we can. I absolutely love all of the filtering throughout the entire program and how there are multiple ways to find a previous booking. The calendar is my favorite view and I am looking forward to beginning to use the task function shortly. I have created many many menu templates which is superb but would like to copy one from an actual booking as well. Overall, I completely understand that this is meant for more formal venue catering so I am just grateful that I am able to utilize it at the level that I can for corporate/off site catering. It is so quick & easy and I just cant believe how effective it is to update for a client. Great job!

Cons: The biggest issue with Gather for us is that it does not report to our inventory/reporting system. We have to manually ring everything into our Revel POS system in order to capture an accurate product mix. Basically this means that this software is really only for me to create the proposal and our comptroller must recreate everything in another program. Huge waste of time but a necessary evil for me to have this valuable tool to do my job. I wish that there were more templates for multiple sections including but not limited to the notes sections. I find myself copy & pasting my own words dozens of times a day. I would like to see the lead be able to be customized because I have to ask a set series of additional questions before I may even begin a proposal. It would be really helpful to copy & paste emails into the message section to be able to assure an accurate add. I think that it is important to add a confirmation to the client that their CC info has been added correctly. I get MULTIPLE emails a week asking if we are all set since they do not get a confirmation. Please finalize the condensed versions that you have been toying with. Please go back to the notification to COMPLETE the gratuity, 50% miss it. Lastly, add the onsite contact info to the CHEF BEO. We use that version for the driver because it is a cleaner version to pack the van with. The regular BEO is only sent to the client with the proposal because it has too much going on for the delivery pack list. Thanks!

Overall: Quick & easy creation of bookings. Fast reaction updates with existing bookings. Immediate updates across the entire booking and all of its documents. Superior customer service.

Gather has helped to transform our business! It is hands down one of the best decisions we've made!

Pros: It is hard to say what I like best about Gather. The overall features, functions and benefits are awesome. If I had to pick one thing, it would be that Gather is extremely user friendly. The functionality is superior and the ongoing enhancements continue to make an already powerful platform even more robust. Gather provides the best customer service I have experienced with unparalleled responsiveness. The reps are friendly, knowledgeable and easy to work with.

Cons: The things that I don't like are minor and because the system is so well designed, I have been able to quickly find workarounds that have had a minimal impact on my effectiveness. For example, if I create a proposal and make changes, while Gather saves everything in real time, I simply download the initial version so I can have a record while maintaining the final version in the system.

Gather is user friendly and the support group is top notch!

Pros: It is easy to use and keeps all of my events organized. I really like the new "task" feature. I reminds me to get things done instead of adding reminders in my notes.

Cons: I wish it could sync to my work calendar, as do my co workers. This would just help put events in the calendars as soon as it is added, as opposed to manually adding it.

Pros: The web base portal is wonderful, and has received great updates over the past year. Creating events and booking is super easy.

Cons: The iOS apps are poorly designed and do not function with the ease as the web page. You cannot book new events or input new leads at all.

Pros: I started using this software about a year and half ago. It has made my job so much easier and saved so much time. It is very user friendly ( for both the client and myself). What has really impressed me the most with this company is their customer service. The few times, I have had a question, I received a response by someone on their team within an hour. I could not be happier with Gather and their team.

Cons: The only minor improvement I would like to see made is the ability to communicate to multiple people through the gather website. Often times if I am messaging through their site, and the client will copy people on emails and I am unable to see the copied recipients.

Gather has been a great tool that reduces the amount of time spent logging details of events!

Pros: Everyone is able to see whats going on in the private dining room. From the Front of House Manger to the Chef to the GM and Banquet Manager. It's all available in one centralized location.

Customizing the menu options to cater to the guests needs is a breeze!

Sending out contracts that are consistent with your brand is important. Once it's worded properly and stored, it's sent out the same every time.

All communication between the guest and the venue is all in one place.

Cons: You can't add events through the app.

Changing the uploaded documents seems to revert back to older documents at times.

Pros: I love that Gather has taken what used to be 4 or 5 different folders, programs and documents and combined them into 1 place. It has made our lives much easier in that respect.

Cons: The inability for the financial side to connect with our program - I wish it could connect with NCR or InfusionSoft so we could have those financials in the same place as a program we already use.

Overall: The ability to bring multiple platforms into one place.

We have been a client for 2 years and can not imagine booking events without this software!

Pros: Very user-friendly! It has made booking our events a breeze. We have more time to concentrate on other event details. Our clients are constantly commenting how easy booking an event with us is! Yeah for Gather!

This software has literally replaced a person in our office. It is easy to use and we wouldn't change a thing about it. The support staff that Gather employees are very knowledgeable and efficient in responding to any questions that arise.

Overall: saves our company time and money

Pros: easy to use, and keeps me accurate and up to date with all the different clients. We have about 2-4+ events a day and I wouldnt be able to stay organized with out this.

Cons: my emails go into peoples junk mail so alot of times people dont see my emails and I miss out on opportunities.

Going from excel to an actual program had defintley helped organize all 4 locations that I book for.

Pros: I like that I have my leads, bookings and emails all in 1 location. It's also very helpful for the general managers, chefs and my assistant to be able to see all communications and notes in one location.

Cons: I do not like the fact that it can't do an auto responder email and the ability to CC other people - these are 2 really big features that I feel are important and it's missing.

Overall: organization, everyone is on the same page, easy access for key employee's, simple for the guests to sign and pay deposit

Pros: The cloud based structure allows access from anywhere with any device. No clumsy loading or unloading of software.

Cons: Not a "con" really, but rather just a fact of life with cloud based computing. No internet, no Gather. Slow internet, slow Gather. It is not something you "fix", it is something you must understand though.

Overall: Organization. Multi-task ability. Structure. Communication streamlined with Chef and Guest from same point of origin (Invaluable). Sales Tracking. The Support( Excellent, Human, Humble) is actually "supportive". Innovation (see new ideas every few months).

Comments: Even though we gave them notice of cancellation after about 9 months they have twice charged our card for renewals which are not valid.

Pros: Generally the contract feature was fine. We liked executing contracts on line even though the contract tool did not have all of the client info required

Cons: Regarding our disappointment with Gather I would point to the following ¿ all of which I have reflected to your support people and none of which have been acted on: Your IOS app seems to be able to send messages to clients and it does seem to be able to send templates but not free-form messages. Yet it often leads the user to believe a message has been sent when it has not About 45 days ago new inquiries stopped showing up in your new messages list ¿ your support people insisted this was not a change but it was. It seems logical that new leads would be the most important new messages I asked you to make all the numbers and metrics on your Home page hyperlinked, but you have not. If I see I have two new leads I can click on that number and it takes me to the new leads. If I see I have one new contract signed, the numeral ¿1¿ is not hyperlinked and I have to search for the new signed contract. It is difficult or impossible to add a second client contact name but in the wedding business it is pretty normal to have at least two client counterparties. Yes I know about the ¿onsite¿ contact but that is not a default email recipient. Look at the confusion that appears in some proposals. Your proposals are not properly itemized and clients do not seem to notice that I have attached a ¿BEO¿ which is not a term I could define for you. Look at both ¿xxx¿ and ¿xxx¿ as examples of proposals where they thought we got the price wrong but they don¿t see the security deposit because it is not itemized in the proposal. It is completely ridiculous that the client could sign an e-contract without being forced to enter and validate their address, phone, full and correct name, etc. Our normal course is we get a contract signed and then we chase down the additional information required to actually have a contract with the Zenith Additional Information form. This is cumbersome and probably not legally defensible. I want the client to execute the contract having filled in and validated their complete contact info

Comments: Gather is a program with a great deal of potential, but lacking terribly in the follow-through at this time. While I was sending numerous emails asking to be granted permission to view reports on transaction fees and getting no response, they released a new logo and website design. And then when I asked them to enter recurring calendar event data on their event, which they had promised to do before we purchased the program, they responded by saying they won't do this for us any longer and we'll need to enter everything manually from here on out. At this time, it appears they're busying themselves with esthetics and letting consistency, agreements, and customer-care fall by the wayside.

Pros: The ease of scheduling and incorporation of invoicing is really wonderful. Also, the first month of customer service is superb.

Cons: The inquiry/"lead" forms are not customizable, the customer service drops off dramatically after a month of partnership, we primarily work with recurring events and they do not have any accommodating features for this. So, we worked out an agreement of sending in the data so they would enter it and decided to purchase the program, after a month and a half we were told they would no longer honor this agreement with us, without any warning or consideration. I also repeatedly requested access to financial reports regarding transaction fees and was dropped from conversation twice until I sent an email to a number of different departments and department heads, after which is was taken care of immediately.

Pros: Much more user friendly than alternatives.

Cons: Slightly less powerful than other systems I've used.

Overall: Gather has been a nice change for our business after switching over from a competitor. It has made communication easier for our team for both front and back of house when handling BEOs, which is a sizable part of our business for a traditional restaurant.

Comments: My company loves Gather, we have been using it for about 4 months now. Because it is an up and coming system they are growing and adding new content all the time, and they really look for customer feedback to help them in growing their software.

Pros: Great customer service New content added often Ease of use up to date tech without hidden fees

Cons: I can't think of any cons. I think there is always room for improvement, but nothing sticks out to me as a problem. I did, however, have some difficulty integrating my bookings calendar with my google calendar, but almost immediately, the awesome customer service team helped me out with it.

Overall: I am the General Manager and Event Planner for a very busy restaurant. Gather helps to keep me organized, in touch with clients and staff, and keeps all of the information I need in one place. I love that clients can get in touch with me through a Gather link on our website, and I can convert a lead into a booking very easily. Keeping up with so many people and events is exhausting, but Gather makes it much easier for me to have all necessary information and conversations with clients in one place. I also love that I can have my clients "sign" event contracts through the website, send deposits, and put a card on file. My team can also access conversations and documents so that they can stay up to speed with what is going on. But I think my favorite part is that the bookings calendar can be synced with my google calendar across all of my devices. :)

Recommendations to other buyers: I would love to see a bookings calendar that can be put on my restaurant's website. That way, clients already know that we are booked. I would also like to see more options for inquiry buttons that can be put on my website. This may be an oversight of mine, but my link is not very noticeable and in plain text says "Click here to inquire about an event". I wish It was a big button or even a form that a guest can see right on the page and fill out.

Comments: We tried Total Party Planner (trial) and Caterease (6 months) before finding Gather. I'm so glad we did. From the first interaction the sales and support staff have been professional, helpful and going above and beyond. All our data was uploaded over the Christmas holiday (2015) and we've been booking clients ever since.

As one of our clients wrote "it's beautiful and effective at showing me exactly what matters." Everything is online, and even works from mobile devices.

Team communication is seamless, and best of all I actually got my chef's using it because it's just like email. There is now a one-stop shop for everything related to events.

For our small catering company justifying the expense was hard at first. Now, it's no question I save that much every month in time emailing clients and sorting through details.

The BEST part:
Gather is under active development. They just got funded big time and have been rapidly rolling out new features. I have no doubt they will be competitive with giants like Caterease in all categories very soon.

And when they roll out a "required items" checklist or a menu costing/ordering interface you better believe it will be intuitive, functional and highly integrated.

Right now (Feb 2016) Gather is primarily geared toward restaurants with rooms; however, we have had no trouble adapting it to our off-site catering business (we have a fleet of mobile wood-fired ovens). If you are a large hotel this may not be the best solution... yet, but just ask. They are incredibly responsive.

...if only there were more stars!!!!

Comments: Gather has been such an asset to our team of twelve sales managers! We are located all over Texas and have now expanded out of state, yet, thanks to Gather, we can each provide individualized information for each location in a completely consistent format. Gather is truly easy to use as we are logically guided to the next step or the next detail that needs to be entered. The communication at each store level has been markedly increased with the Daily Digest. And since there can be as many viewers as each management team would like with Gather, everyone is in the "know" about events daily.

Customer Service is impeccable! All concerns are addressed; all phone call are returned; and all emails are acknowledged and in a timely manner. In the last 12 months, the Gather Team has shown a rare talent for true customer service. Gather has proven to be a true asset for Perry's!

Comments: My second day at my job, we had our first conference call with Taylor, our Gather representative, to walk us through all of the opportunities Gather can provide our restaurant group to plan and organize our upcoming events and caterings. Little did I know that Gather would become my new best friend and inadvertently, same goes for Taylor. We use the system for multiple aspects of our group and Gather seems to mold and fit into each role we set up for it. We're primarily a restaurant group - we have some group dining options, private dining, but also a whole other element of catering AND inter-restaurant caterings. Gather has done it all for us! Managing communication between us at the corporate office and the restaurant managers to ensure our events are being properly executed.
Taylor and Alex from Gather have been always available and willing to help my colleagues and I throughout this time. They've also been extremely open to new ideas and feedback on ways to improve this young, but VERY strong software - ultimately helping our company become even bigger and better.
I would recommend Gather to anyone who is managing a high-volume of events and caterings. I truly don't know how we'd manage this level of activity without it.

This is THE BEST catering software out there.

Comments: At our restaurants, we get dozens of event inquiries a day. During our busiest seasons we can easily receive over a hundred inquiries a day. We have to be able to check availability in a matter of seconds. We have to be able to produce fully executed BEOs in a matter of minutes. There is no way that we could do this without Gather. The organization that you gain by using Gather is insane. Menus, contracts, credit card forms, automatically generated BEOs and Chef BEOs are all at your finger tips. The interface itself is beautiful and easy to use. The best part is that it allows us to have instant communication with our managers, chefs and event teams. No emailing 10 different people BEOs, or hand delivering paperwork to the restaurant. You can also communicate with your clients through the portal and make real-time updates that they can see and approve. It's fast, it's easy, it's the only way I maintain sanity. The features that Gather provides are amazing, and the incredible customer service is the icing on the cake. Truly THE BEST software out there.

Comments: Gather has been instrumental in holding our company's private event and catering management at the top of the game. In an ever changing hospitality world, it is important to stay above the game. Gather matches our standards and has developed a relationship with us that can not compare to any other software of the kind.

1. Web-based and matched my monthly price I was paying for a sole license.
2. As an upper level management, I can see all of my units/catering divisions on one calendar and filter as I need.
3. They input menus for you and will make changes ¿ no extra cost.
3. They offer free one on one continued training when I have new managers with the system.
4. Much easier for my managers to input information, more user friendly.
5. I don't have to "submit a work order" to talk to anyone. I'm on a first name basis with a group of professionals that care about giving service the right way.
6. They are fast with turn around on jobs and needs.

Great for companies with multiple properties!

Comments: Gather is a great way to help streamline our event planning process. With various events taking place at multiple properties daily, Gather gives us a chance to review the information at one time for all locations. It also allows our managers and staff to view updates and changes, as the program is very user friendly. There have been a few minor setbacks here and there with system updates, but most issues are resolved in a timely manner. We are so pleased with the program, and look forward to it's continued success!

Comments: My team has been so happy with Gather. It has completely transformed the communication between the sales team and venue staff. We love the transparency of the software - everyone can get the information they need in real time.

The support team at Gather has also been great to work with. They are very responsive to our questions and have also been great about tweaking the features of the software to meet our needs.

The interface for clients is also good and easy to use. There have been a couple of glitches with messages and emails coming through the Gather system, but the client support team has worked closely with us to try to resolve those.

We highly recommend Gather!
