Because of the problems I was experiencing and the fact that I figured out how to do it without their service. It started to seem like a waste of money and I decided to cancel it before it cost me anything more than my time and my sanity. Pros I really loved the thought of just signing in once and being done. Not having to sign into multiple pages to access my accounts. As well as the heightened security for my payment options along with my passwords and account names. Cons However, I'm not sure if something went wrong or if there was a problem with the software. Whatever it was it caused me to have to continuously sign in over and over and over. I ended up getting fed up with the process of doing this and took it upon myself to figure out how to basically do that exact same service that Dashlane provided. Just without having to pay for Dashlane or deal with the frustration of the problem I was experiencing. Pros \- it is well organised, fast and efficient. - it is very easy to get the hang of. - there are many useful features such as the security checkup which removes the need for an IT team checkup. - you can easily scale it up to large enterprises. - there is an intuitive developer module. - the pricing is structured well. Cons \- it could be more affordable for smaller businesses. - there is a smaller range of features in cheaper plans as oppose to competitors such as Dashlane. - there could be a more helpful demo/tutorial. I had done some research to select a product and landed on Dashlane. The various tools (chrome extension, iOS app, OSX apps) all work very well together and sync quickly. The software is super polished and makes managing passwords very easy. Cons Setting up the software is quite tricky, but this is likely true for all password managers. A few tricks/tips to get started would be 1. In Chrome and iOS settings, allow Dashlane to be password provider. 2. For any passwords you want saved, go into Chrome password settings and remove the save passwords (otherwise Chrome will try to autofill which blocks the Dashlane UI). Pros I originally downloaded the app to use for keeping all passwords secure and available. It does store your passwords and helps to maintain a high level of security for your credentials. Cons This is not something you can just install and implement. You need to make sure the proper permissions are set and there are more features that I Feel are not needed such as auto log in (?). It just seems to be more confusing to me. Pros Overall the product is great, even though I migrated to 1Password since then. The one feature I miss is the password generator and the ease of generating passwords. Cons There were some situations in which Dashlane would fail but overall it worked ok. The red flag for me was when they published the password analysis in 2018 or 2019. How could they know the passwords if the password vaults are encrypted with the vault / user master key. I switched after that. You can have your payment methods, SSN, driver license, notes. If you want to share access to a software/platform with a friend, you don't have to replace your password anymore, just share the access, they can't see your password or share it to a third party; when you are done just stop sharing and that's it! The sharing facilities and security seem robust and well thought out and the security dashboard is an excellent point-of-reference if corporate data security is of concern. Cons While the core Dashlane functionality is fantastic, the additions that come with 'Business' are currently thin on the ground. The 'spaces' feature is useful but perhaps lacking in sharing options. Pros I really liked that Dashlane is synced across all of my devices and is up to date automatically. I like that it automatically adds usernames and passwords on sites that you visit too. That's really handy! It also allows you to add notes that are also synced too. Cons Sometimes after start-up, you have to log in to Dashlane in order for the software to work in the background. Cons Dash Lane was not the easiest to setup to get passwords shared amongst team members.
