Very positive experience. Again, my whole team operates out of one single platform, which is monday.com. And whenever we need help, support has always been quick to respond.

Pros

The value is incredible. You can operate your entire business out of one platform. The customizations are straightforward, and the whole platform is easy to use. Tons of automations that save my team and I lots of time on a daily basis.

Cons

It can take some thought to set it up properly. If we aren't clear on a process before we build it, the board/process is less effective as a whole.

### "Indispensable for my business, but not without real frustrations"

I'm wedded to monday.com. I use it every day, my whole consultancy and delivery business runs through it, and I'd recommend it to anyone in a similar position. It's the one piece of software I genuinely value — I'd switch search engines, social platforms or office suites without much thought, but project management lives here. My honest worry is the long term: as my data, systems and interlinkages deepen, the cost of leaving rises, and I've already seen functionality removed and pricing creep up. I've made peace with the limitations and built workarounds, but I'd be lying if I said I felt entirely secure as a customer.

Pros

Easy to use and intuitive — the interface is colourful and people generally just "get it", which makes it brilliant for communicating with teams and clients. Customer support is genuinely excellent. The AI chatbot is more capable than most — it once correctly diagnosed three separate software issues from a screen recording I sent. When you get passed to a human agent, they're consistently helpful; one recently sent me a follow-up video tutorial after working through a Gantt rollup problem with me. The biggest win for my consultancy has been capacity planning. Combining timelines, estimated hours and dependencies in the Gantt view, then pulling that into a team capacity dashboard alongside a separate board tracking holidays, sickness and training, lets us instantly spot blockages and have honest conversations with clients about realistic deadlines. That alone has changed how we run the business. The item/subitem structure suits long-running work perfectly — some of our forestry projects span 5–10 years, with subitems as the discrete tasks within them. Linking each item to a single Google Workspace file means I never go to Drive to find anything; I just search monday. Board linking works well, and the timesheet dashboard helps keep productivity visible across teams.

Cons

Time tracking is genuinely poor for a tool that markets itself as team-based. Two people can't track time on the same item simultaneously, and you can't meaningfully export hours by client or subitem, so it ends up being little more than a clock you copy figures from. Dependency assignment in Gantt view is clumsy. Instead of clicking the item above, you have to type its name and pick from a list — painful when you have multiple similarly-named items. Worse, when you duplicate an item with subitems and dependencies, the dependencies in the duplicate link back to the original's subitems rather than the new ones. There's no clean workaround, so we avoid duplicating altogether. Gantt charts don't export to PDF reliably — the view often misaligns and you can't correct it. Labels sometimes pull data you didn't ask for (item names appended to subitem hours), and the table column on the left can't be widened into the Gantt area, so long subitem names get cut off. Inserting new items into an existing dependency chain is also fiddly enough that we plan around it. Performance is sluggish even on top-of-the-range hardware and fast internet — boards take a few seconds to load every time, simple or complex. Pricing feels like a moving target. I'm on Pro and still get features dangled in front of me that turn out to sit on a higher tier (forms, certain map functions). Functionality I relied on has also been quietly removed — postcode-based email logging used to capture replies back into the item, and now it doesn't, apparently to nudge users toward the separate CRM product. Reduced functionality without reduced price is hard to swallow, especially when support insists nothing has changed. The three-seat minimum almost stopped me signing up when I started my business. Plenty of small businesses would benefit and don't, purely because of that barrier. And there's constant noise — non-native add-ons being pushed, AI features being promoted — when I just want to get on with building boards.

What I liked most about monday.com is how flexible it is for building workflows around the way our business actually operates, instead of forcing us to adapt to a rigid system. At Budd’s, we use it to organize and track multiple parts of the business, and the biggest advantage is the ability to customize boards, statuses, automations, and columns to match our real operational process. It gives us visibility across teams, helps centralize information, and makes it much easier to monitor progress, accountability, and bottlenecks in one place. Another big plus is that it works well as an operational hub alongside other systems. We’ve been able to use monday.com to support workflows connected to quoting, jobs, clients, and follow-up processes, which makes it valuable beyond just project management.

Cons

What I liked least is that as your workflow becomes more advanced, monday.com can start to feel a bit cluttered and harder to manage. It is very customizable, but that also means maintaining boards, automations, and integrations can take a lot of ongoing attention. Some processes that seem like they should be simple end up requiring workarounds or extra manual setup.

We migrated from Microsoft Planner for the majority of our projects and everyone across the company much prefers Monday.com. We have now run many projects through it and I truly believe that managing these projects would have been much harder with Planner. Getting people to use things is hard, but people genuinely enjoy using Monday.com which means we don't have any resistance when adding more projects into it and getting new people onboarded.

Pros

Easy to use for the whole team. It's very visually appealing which is great so that many members of the team like it and actively like using it. It's easy to understand and quite flexible which is nice. I really like being able to house everything in one board - all my tasks, documentation, forms and dashboards, all in one place. The automations are super easy to set up and offer a ton of value being able to dictate logic and have your boards work for you is great.

Cons

I think the pricing structure is a bit annoying at first. We've adopted gradually, but needing to buy licenses in set amounts is a bit annoying. When you connect a board to a column, there's no option for adding all the tasks from the board automatically to the connected column. You have to add them all manually and individually which is annoying. But not the end of the world. The name! You can't just say "Monday" because people have no idea what you're on about and saying "Monday.com" each time is annoying.

My overall experience with monday.com has been very positive. It’s a platform I genuinely enjoy using. It's simple, intuitive, visually modern, and great for team collaboration. It offers strong functionality at a reasonable price and it makes managing work feel more organised and engaging. Aside from a few areas that could be more intuitive, like linking and training resources, it’s been a fantastic tool that adds real value to my workflow.

Pros

I really like how easy and intuitive monday.com is to use. The fresh, modern interface, clean layout, and overall user experience make it enjoyable to work in every day, and is easily one of the best tools we use. It’s also great value for money, and has nice collaboration features like the comments functionality that make it easy for our team to stay aligned. The vibe webinars are also a great new addition to the platform, and help me work out new functionality and how to better use the platform.

Cons

The main challenge is that linking items and automation can be a bit difficult and sometimes feels less intuitive than the rest of the platform. I also think having more helpful training videos or tutorials would make onboarding even smoother and help with new features, as I don't think the platform is lacking anything (i.e. has a significant template library, easy to use, great overall), but maybe we are not using certain aspects well or at all.

My entire experience with Monday has been like a before-and-after. Before, it was amazing that I could use the whole lifecycle of my business: - my kickoff - my projects - my project management - my task management Everything else, too, like my two-week tasks, my payments, and my commissions. On the CRM side, it is amazing to see the lifecycle and the customer journey I can do with Monday CRM. I use the whole Monday ecosystem, and after, with the AI capacities we have now, it is amazing. The AI NoteTaker and all the information Monday has is awesome, and the agents I have been working with are great.

Pros

Right now, the most I like about Monday is the AI capabilities. The Sidekick and the fact that this guy knows everything about my workflow, so I don't have to use other AI platforms, is amazing. I also love: - the general - the task management - the work management - the CRM Everything in one place

Cons

Right now, the least thing is the WhatsApp integration for Monday CRM. I need it. I think so. It's going to be very, very good for Monday CRM and also for every Monday product.

Although I didn't PERSONALLY pay for Monday, I worked for clients who were only making $100,000/year to clients who were multi-million dollar companies and Monday worked (and was affordable) for BOTH! Anytime a client is looking for a CRM or project management tool Monday is always my first suggestion.

Pros

I have used a lot of project management softwares and Monday is by far my favorite - it's very intuitive whether you're more of a Kanban type user or would prefer another type of view. I love the fact that you can build in dependencies and it integrates with several other softwares such as Zoom, Gmail, and Slack (to name a few).

Cons

The login situation is a little tricky. I had a few different clients that used Monday and I would get a little confused about how to ensure I was logging into the correct Monday account.

Monday is a fantastic tool and great for managing project workflows. You can easily build your workflow and integrate with all the popular platforms (i.e. Figma, Zapier, Google, AI)

Pros

Monday.com is an excellent platform that integrates well and is extensible through their solid API. Usability is up there and much thought has gone into the ease of onboarding, which is great if you are using it as a client & internal space for projects.

Cons

Very little to be honest. Their AI tools are somewhat useful but like all AI they still suffer from being error prone.

Monday.com has been a blessing for our Marketing Department, ensuring that all requests are logged appropriately, that the team has visibility into everyone's workload, and that we're able to track meaningful analytics to make better business decisions for our advisors. Automations have been incredibly helpful in ensuring consistent communication for all parties involved.

Cons

Some automation and metrics don't play nice with particular column types. Figuring things out through trial and error can be time-consuming or frustrating; however, I do see ongoing advancements in the platform that are already addressing some of the pain points we've experienced in the past.

### "Reliable spreadsheet style system"

It's reliable. The way I see it is that if my company uses monday.com, I'd be fine with that, but I wouldn't be overjoyed. If I wanted to manage personal projects outside of work, I'd prefer the Atlassian suite of tools.

Pros

There is flexibility in how you use it, especially through the ability to automate workflows based on a large set of triggers. Where prescribed options don't hit the mark, the AI automation function comes in handy. I also love how the My Work tab aggregates my assigned tasks across all boards I'm involved in, and the customisation options to hide/show items as needed. I've described Monday.com as "a spreadsheet on steroids".

Cons

I don't love the main item > sub-item structure, despite this being the core structure of the system. It limits usability of the platform to 'spreadsheet style' itemising of tasks. If I really wanted a spreadsheet to customise, sometimes it is easier to use Google sheets. I would use Monday.com for the ability to automate workflows and the collaboration aspect (e.g., knowing that tagging a team member in an item will reliably send them a notification and there's a clear audit trail of activities). I would prefer boards that offer 'ticket style' itemisation - this is offered to an extent through Kanban views and item cards, but where it falls short is not allowing an item card to absorb fields from other items across other boards. E.g., If I want a templated data field, it HAS to be created as a column, not as a data field within a card. This can also be solved to an extent with Connect Boards, but I've often found that the sum of these features is a clunky experience where no true linkage between cards and boards can be made without significant high-touch workarounds.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed using Monday.com. It made my day-to-day tasks significantly easier and more manageable, bringing a real sense of structure and efficiency to my work. While I didn’t have the opportunity to explore the CRM functionality — which is something I would have been very interested in — the features I did use were highly effective and intuitive. If there were one improvement, it would be greater flexibility for single-user subscriptions, which would make the platform even more accessible. That said, I genuinely believe Monday.com is an excellent tool with huge potential. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it — in fact, I already do. A definite five-star experience from me.

Pros

What I valued most about using Monday.com was how intuitive and efficient it made my day-to-day work. The platform is incredibly user-friendly, with features that are easy to navigate and require minimal effort to maintain, which made it feel non-taxing even when managing multiple tasks. The automation functionality was a standout — it streamlined repetitive processes and saved significant time, allowing me to focus on higher-value work. I also found it particularly effective for budgeting, charting, and tracking daily workflows, giving clear visibility across all areas of work. From a client services perspective, it supported file reviews, document tracking, and identifying outstanding items seamlessly. The ability to generate reports and visualise data through charts made monitoring progress and performance straightforward and efficient. Overall, it significantly improved organisation, productivity, and clarity in managing both individual tasks and wider operational processes.

Cons

What I found less effective was the pricing and user access structure. The requirement to subscribe with a minimum number of users made it less flexible, particularly for smaller teams or more tailored use cases. It was also somewhat restrictive when trying to collaborate across wider teams. Adding new users wasn’t always straightforward, and guest access felt limited — guests were primarily able to view rather than actively contribute. This made it challenging to share boards with colleagues outside of the subscription who simply needed to add input, notes, or comments, without increasing overall costs. As a result, collaboration across different teams or stakeholders could become less efficient and more costly than anticipated.

Overall, I'd recommend it in a heartbeat. It's super versatile, has a pleasant UI, and is really easy to maintain and share with others. I use it all day every day and I'm glad!

Pros

Monday is so versatile - we use it for meetings, progress tracking on projects, tracking bugs, cross-team information visibility, and even our company directory.

Cons

Honestly, I dislike very little. But the two things would be notifications (tend to be overwhelming in quantity and hard to curate properly) and search (I'm not always able to search as targetted as I'd like to be able to).

Cons

### "Great for tracking comp plan approvals"

I've been using monday.com for about six months to manage our sales compensation workflows (plan distribution and dispute tracking). Moving our "ticket" system from email chains to monday.com boards has been a huge win. However, I find the reporting and formula capabilities a bit light. It is excellent for process management , but for actual data analysis or complex commission calculations, I still have to export everything back to Excel.

Pros

Visual Status Tracking. I use the color-coded status columns. I have a board for "Commission Disputes" and at a glance, I can see what is "In Review," "Approved for Payout," or "Rejected." Automations. Setting up the "When status changes to 'Approved', notify Payroll" automation saved me so much manual emailing. It reduces the human error of forgetting to pass a dispute along.

Cons

Formula Limitations... You can do basic math columns, but it’s nothing compared to Excel. If you try to do complex tiered commission logic within monday.com itself, you will hit a wall.

Overall good, we will continue to use it as a business and I'd use it again in future. I think with AI coming through they're trying to utilise that which is great, but still quite glitchy. I personally prefer to have things properly working before implementing it.

Pros

Definitely offers a number of different products and options. I like that it is quite customisable, and allows for colour coding.

Cons

They've tried to make it do too many things. And are updating a lot of things that change how what we have built functions. There are also a number of things that they add which are so useful, that aren't easy to then implement when our systems have been built off the old version of their platform. Ie automations vs workflows. Workflows are of course better, but when everything we've built is in automatons we have to essentially do a complete rebuild while still trying to run a business and use the product which doesn't make things easy.
