### "ConnectWISE - A WISE Choice!"

April 21, 2025

5.0

Very positive experience with this software. It's very stable and only requires a thin agent to install, after that, it's easy to connect & provide quick efficient remote support.

Pros

I'm currently managing 30 endpoints with ConnectWise. It's very easy & intuitive to use with a great interface & plenty of details per device.

Cons

It was tricky at first to remotely navigate endpoints with multiple monitors, but once I got the hang of it, I had no issues with managing devices.

### "Reliable Remote Support"

March 16, 2026

4.0

ScreenConnect has served as a reliable remote support toolespecially for IT teams handling dozens of devices. It cuts down on troubleshooting time and simplifies routine tasks. Some menus still feel confusing, but the software runs fast and works well in practice. Probably, the interface would improve if more users tested it thoroughly. This makes it a solid choice for day-to-day support operations.

Pros

ScreenConnect provides quick and reliable remote connections that make user support seamless and efficient. The appearance is neat and user-friendly, and it is not complicated to arrange unattended access. Performance is always good, even on low-speed networks. Features such as fast transferring of files, executing commands, and displaying multiple screens are really worthwhile.

Cons

Certain settings hide behind layers or need several clicks to reach. Updates sometimes bring new screen layouts that take time to get used to. How do smaller groups really understand licensing and pricing levels?

### "FRUSTRATING!"

October 30, 2025

2.0

the updates over the past 6 - 8 months, are HORRENDOUS at best! From moving away from the initial .exe download for obvious reasons and replacing that with ZIP files made it cumbersome for end users who are not in any way tech savvy, to going back to an .exe and now being detected in Windows 10 pro and Windows 11 Pro environments as a virus and won't allow download or if it does allow download, won't install. It's almost impossible to talk a user over the phone who knows absolutely nothing about computers other than where the power button is, how to disable firewall or defender A/V! HOW ABOUT SIGNING YOUR INSTALL PRODUCTS SO WE, THE PAYING CUSTOMER, DON'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH YOUR TECH TEAM'S INABILITY TO DEVELOP PRODUCT PROPERLY!!!!! 🙄

Pros

Not much good to say about ScreenConnect any more. Used to be a phenomenal and DEPENDABLE product but not anymore!

Cons

ridiculous updates that just break things which have been working for many months or longer is becoming the norm with these guys. Feel like I'm dealing with Microsoft anymore in respect to them changing things and not fully testing before deploying, then leaving us, THE PAYING CUSTOMER, to figure out how to continue to make this product work. Over the past few months also, nothing but connectivity issues with the SC website (NOT to be confused with connecting to remote machines). Sometimes won't connect, sometimes will (this is from various locations and various machines)

### "Strongest Remote Access Tool in the Game"

July 17, 2025

5.0

Overall, my experience has been very positive. We use Screenconnect to connect to sessions from NinjaRMM and that integration is seamless. Privileged Access Management is not only easy to setup, but offers deep configuration options to allow automatic execution of elevated prompts. Screenconnect blows it's counterparts out of the water, and there is no contest to what tool I would rather use.

Pros

Screenconnect is an incredibly mature product with an expanding set of features and customization that can sometimes surpass other products in the Connectswise stack. Between reliable connectivity to endpoints, support for PAM, and strong reporting, it is my team's favorite remote connection utility.

Cons

Support is occasionally poor, but I believe this is a Connectwise issue that has been longstanding. Features are sometimes changed without too much notice, leading to confusion from technical resources.

### "ScreenConnect can get the job done"

September 17, 2025

4.0

ScreenConnect got the job done. That was the extent. It was a nice tool to implement quickly but I do not recommend it for long term use especially if you expect company growth in the future.

Pros

It was easy to use and provided the basics of what was needed to support our machines. It had enough structure to make it easy to onboard.

Cons

It sometimes felt that it had too many guardrails and left me wanting to be able to do more. When compared to other products, it felt lacking.

### "Great Product, Good Company"

September 22, 2025

Its been Great, Its Easy to Use and train new techs on how to connect, run scripts, and setup software.

Pros

It works great! It lets us Connect to Our Clients Computers and run scripts and repairs, The Customer Support is also very easy to connect to and very helpful.

Cons

Sometimes the Agent Doesnt install properly and we have to contact support. The Only other Con I can think of is the site will go down about once a month but it is normally resolved fairly quickly.

### "A remote support tool that just works"

April 3, 2025

5.0

I have been through many implementations, the most recent of which was a month ago. They are all fairly consistent and with each one they provide an implementation specialist that will help answer questions.

Pros

Their software works well with most every operating system and internet connection I have ever tried it on. Using this service internationally, also works well and it includes all of the tools I have ever needed when supporting a user remotely.

Cons

Their documentation is awful and the turnover at ConnectWise leaves the inexperienced staff a little over their heads when it comes to complicated configuration needs/issues.

### "THE perfect alternative to Anydesk or TeamViewer."

August 12, 2024

5.0

Great app, super easy to deploy. We had some follow up emails from our trial from someone at ConnectWise to check in which was a nice touch, and the whole process from start to finish was really really smooth.

Pros

ScreenConnect is incredible. The process of deploying to various endpoints is super easy via Intune - just build the app from the admin portal and deploy the MSI file. Being able to disable guest input is super handy when providing remote support to users who continue working whilst you're trying to make a fix.

Cons

The admin panel isn't the clearest - turning off features like the desktop preview images should be far easier, we had to do some Googling to find out how to do it as it feels like an invasion of privacy.

Alternatives considered

[AnyDesk](https://www.capterra.com/p/149595/AnyDesk/)

Reason for choosing ScreenConnect

AnyDesk is great, however the ability to build your own app for your environment is the worst experience we've ever had. The build tool is slow, seems to forget half of the options you'd selected and unattended access was painful. I don't know who at AnyDesk signed off on the tool, but it needs to be removed.

Switched from

[TeamViewer ONE](https://www.capterra.com/p/194565/TeamViewer/)

Teamviewer became horrifically expensive when managing over 500 devices, to add an extra 500 was horrendous and they would only allow this if we renewed our contract for an additional 2 years. Managing the install via Intune of Teamviewer has become a massive chore too - some devices for some reason fail to load the app which is annoying when trying to remotely manage and support users.

### "Mostly Great"

July 2, 2019

4.0

Overall, the software works basically like it should. There are some problems, but every software has it's issues. I would like to see some new features such as responding to online clients requests via our email so that I can respond to customers without having to lot into the system. On the same note, I would love to see that when a customer requests to open a chat, that the dialog box would include the user's AD/username and or ask the customer for a name, phone and email to start a chat so that we know specifically to whom we're talking to when a chat is started. I would recommend this software to other IT providers that do not have healthcare customers and I would recommend to ScreenConnect to have an attorney and engineer thoroughly read the aforementioned laws to properly implement and good healthcare product (HIPPA, the EMRA, ACA and Medicare).

Pros

The software is fairly easy to use, intuitive and easy to deploy with the hosted option. The newer features to look up currently installed Software, the latest error logs and full specs with SN is used almost daily in our computer. The notes feature can glitch from time to time, but is a great way to track notes on customers when I'm doing a large batch of updates. I use it to track updates I've started so when I come back to it I know exactly where I left off which isn't necessary for our internal documentation, but is a great note pad tool right in the program. Along the same lines, we use the Notes feature to leave pertinent information for specific devices such as construction equipment computers that can not be turned off without notice and who exactly to contact with their name, numbers and email address to ensure employees have easy access to this NECESSARY information before accessing the computer remotely.

Cons

My least favorite problem with this software is the customer service. We came across a bug over the past few months and when we called in were basically told that the problem was essentially end user error, which is ironic since we've used the software going on 5 years now and we are extremely familiar with the ins and outs of both the software and basic troubleshooting since, ya know, that's our job... Technical support was down right rude when they weren't understanding the issue and when I finally talked to a senior technical engineer for ScreenConnect, I explained the problem and was given an answer of "I could see why this would be confusing to the last agent" but they agreed with me that there was no reason for the agent to be rude or dismissive just because he couldn't understand the abstract bug. We have yet to solve the bug, but I don't necessarily blame the Senior level Engineer, the bug is just very hard to reproduce. The one other hugely important disappointment with this software is that it is not ACTUALLY HIPPA, the EMRA, ACA and Medicare compliant. We have talked with Senior Engineers and the sales team and while they boast about the software being HIPPA compliant, I asked a how exactly they comply with the basic requirements, non-negotiable terms, and when pressed, ScreenConnect doesn't actually have proper compliance. We have therefore not installed the software on any of our health care clients which wastes a lot of time.

### "Small Business System Administrator - Remote support tool"

September 10, 2021

5.0

ConnectWise has been reliable and robust with a low footprint and a constantly updating secure product. My overall experience has been a good one and I would have no issues recommending it to other IT professionals.

Pros

ConnectWise is constantly updating it's tool and providing new security releases which I can monitor. I am able to see system uptime before connecting and can preview user activity before I can connect. A very useful insight when working with difficult users.

Cons

I have had no success with auto-updates for my Mac computers. That said there are many vendors that don't even support a Mac deployment.

### "A Reliable, quick and lightweight solution."

June 6, 2022

5.0

ConnectWise Control has helped us to dial into our clients in a fast and reliable manner. It's configurations mean that we can dial into servers without prompting the machine, but to dial into a workstation, the user does need to consent to control. This is crucial.

Pros

The speed in which we can connect to our end users with Control is it's greatest strength. It is very lightweight and a joy to use.

Cons

The support can be a little on the slow side, if required. more often than not, the support team have to escalate and log a ticket, which takes a while t get a response.

### "Overwhelmingly simple yet effective"

February 25, 2020

4.0

Overall this is one of the best remote control software products I've ever used. Overall it's very smooth to operate, on low speed or high latency connections, it will still work, but has (obvious) delays. Despite this, it's still possible to get the work done, there are just delays that make it appear as though you aren't doing anything since you're waiting for the next screen to render. This is especially bad during UAC prompts. I have been using this product for many years now and have rarely run into issues with it. For the price point though, this is the best product on the market and scales based on your needs.

Pros

\- Ease of use - Quick setup (cloud version) - Minimal training required - Easy customization - Solid connectivity - Requires no end user training

Cons

\- Speed of connection varies greatly when using the cloud vs on-prem - Must have a decent internet connection to use efficiently - UAC prompts will cause the connection to slow down to a crawl even on good internet (not sure if a connectwise issue or a windows issue)

Alternatives considered

[SolarWinds Service Desk](https://www.capterra.com/p/129478/Solarwinds-Service-Desk/)[Kaseya VSA](https://www.capterra.com/p/100303/Kaseya-VSA/)[RealVNC Connect](https://www.capterra.com/p/173752/VNC-Connect/)[BeyondTrust Remote Support](https://www.capterra.com/p/86962/Bomgar/)

Reason for choosing ScreenConnect

Having used some of the other products as well as Control, made this decision very straightforward. The overall functionality of the product for the price was the biggest selling point. Management thought I was joking when I showed them the 3 year cost of the software vs. the cost of some of the others in the mix. The decision was made there and then. Rollout took less than 48 hours (using GPO) to get all endpoints and servers added to the brand new environment. 100% would recommend for anyone sitting on the fence. We are currently using the cloud version and have not been disappointed with this product.

### "Best remote access host I've used."

September 6, 2023

5.0

SC has let us move quickly on absorbing new clients into our remote access base and quickly assist people who just need a hop-on to show us an issue. Overall I recommend it highly.

Pros

Deploying is easy, customization is pretty simple, and the app's functionality is the best compared to every other app I've used (anydesk, teamviewer, splashtop, vnc solutions)

Cons

There's some features that just dont exist and they expect the community to develop plugins for those instead of doing it themselves. Things such as "prevent user from initiating chat when host is not connected" just isn't possible and evey though there's page after page of requests for it they don't do it for whatever reason.

Reason for choosing ScreenConnect

Just a better product overall.

### "This used to be an awesome product for tech support. Now it is just great."

March 1, 2019

4.0

Support staff is always professional. But the way they get information from us and use it as to features on the product and what we like and dislike was really poorly done.

Pros

I \*used\* to like the "Toolbox" till they broke it. Ability to reboot computer and stay connected. Screen drawing.. but that is bittersweet as the feature was VERY BADLY written. Whomever wrote, clearly did not use it to try and talk someone through something on their computer. The ability to dynamically group computers by client and tags is AMAZING!!! I love that I can code searches for my groups. Ability to rename computers. See how long computers have been off-line The plugin system that allows me to greatly enhance the way I interact with the interface. Ability to create user accounts and control their security. (Still waiting for ability to limit how many connections they use) The fact that I can run it off my own server is AWESOME!

Cons

I used to love that I could use the "Toolbox" to execute my tech tools while working on computers. Just pick it from the list... have it download to C:\\SomeFolder and then open that folder and all the tools were there. I could clean viruses, restart the computer, go back and continue. That is no more though. After I bought the software they changed it. Now the tools download to the users "Documents" folder. The users get mad at me for digging through their "Docuemtns" folder to try and find "my folder" where the tools download too. It is hard to get to the folder. It is impossible to set exclusions on the virus shield because the folder name changes as it in the users profile. If they have bad internet or I leave a scanning tool running a long time, lose connection, the folder is removed and so are the tools. I have to start all over. This software SUCKS NOW! They completely changed it. The worst part is... they did not have too. They could have easily let it continue to work the way it was and given us some toggles and variables to control its behavior. Bad programming really. They say this app was written by techs for techs.. I think that may have been true once. Not any longer. Lack of hotkeys... To move between screens and clear the screen drawing. Inability to set the color of the screen drawing. No button to set "Auto" sizing on the resolution. "Acquire Lock" feature never seems to work. I would list more but I am out of space.

The software has a user-friendly interface and includes a range of helpful features, such as chat and messaging tools, that make it easy for users to communicate and collaborate with others while working remotely.Overall, I think ConnectWise Control is a powerful and reliable tool for remote support and remote access, and is a valuable addition to any IT professional or customer service team's toolkit

Cons

There are a few things that I did not like about ConnectWise Control:Pricing structure: Some users have reported that the pricing structure for ConnectWise Control can be somewhat complex and may not always be clearly communicated. This can make it difficult for users to understand exactly how much they will be paying for the software and what features are included in their subscription.Limited platform support: ConnectWise Control is primarily designed to work with Windows and macOS devices. While it is possible to use the software to remotely access and control other types of devices, such as Linux servers, the support for these platforms may be limited compared to Windows and macOS.Complexity: While ConnectWise Control is generally easy to use, the software can be somewhat complex to set up and configure, especially for users who are not particularly technical. This can make it challenging for users to get the software up and running, especially if they encounter any issues or problems.Overall, while I think ConnectWise Control is a powerful and reliable tool for remote support and remote access, it does have some limitations and drawbacks that users should be aware of.

### "Effective software for remote support"

December 27, 2022

5.0

With the exception of the price, which is not too bad, I'm extremely delighted with this purchase. I'm extremely accustomed to free software, but they simply lacked ScreenConnect's functionality, particularly the ability to connect to any machine and control it from anywhere on the network.

Pros

I can control access and add permissions to the data.Good and responsive technical support.Easy to use and productive features.Mobile access.Unlimited logins.

Cons

Dashboard needs updation for better performance.

Pros

Use this product for a few years. I had hosted on my own service and it was a lot of maintenance. The only problem was it was cheap.

Cons

It was hard to use and support. Found free software they did most of these things more consistently.
