You can jump on a PC a different location and help with the issue they are having without having to drive to the location the PC is at

We use this to provide support to end users remotely, and with our field techs when management to a device is down via a cellphone hotspot.

Pros

Great business solution for remote management and supporting end users remotely.

Cons

Support could be better, they refer you to the FAQ on their support website quite often. We have really only had to contact them once and it turned out they were experiencing an outage that got resolved after about an hour or so.

Pros

ScreenConnect with CW is our process when I need to see what a user is doing on their end to better understand their issue. Starting a session, have the user join the session and facilitate seeing their information is seamless. It is also very easy to disconnect so the user knows I am no longer in their computer seeing anything of concern as a notification is sent to the user I have disconnected.

Cons

Nothing at this time since using ConnectWise ScreenConnect is an easy process and meets my needs.

### "Best User Experience (Except for Mac)"

All our our technicians love using ScreenConnect, we came from GoToAssist. The tool set baked into ScreenConnect is easy to access with the highlight being the toolbox allowing a shared library of frequently used tools to be easily downloaded to machines. The ability to add custom extensions to extend the base functionality of the web console and end user facing web portal is very helpful for adjusting ScreenConnect to your needs. The biggest downside of this product, and why I lowered the score for ease of use is the security prompt for Mac users. In order to launch a support session on a Mac, the end user has to take a few extra steps that were not required with GoToAssist due to the application not being signed properly. I did speak with support about this issue (support is handed by ConnectWise who is always great at support) they are planning to resolve it in future releases.

Quick connections, baked in tool set, toolbox, extensions

Cons

Mac users have to perform extra steps when connecting to a support session

We are using ScreenConnect to provide remote assistance to several contract IT customers. We also use for connection to in-house servers from offsite locations.

Pros

I like the ability to group all endpoints within their organization and provide easy access to technicians for instant support.

Cons

It is not so easy to find something I dislike about this software. I guess if I had to pick one thing, it would be the method used to group the hosts to organizations. A drag and drop method would make things much easier.

Pros

What I like most is the ability to transfer files with ease, and the ability to block out Users Keyboard and Mouse functions.

Will continue to use this software, as I have not found anything up to par, especially for the price.

Pros

Having used this software for a couple of years now, many simple features may be overlooked. It's nice to have the "last screenshot" of a machine. Being able to have an install file available is very useful, as is sending specific install files with machine names setup already. The menu options are abundant - send files, send Ctrl-Alt-Delete, viewing all screens, blocking user input if necessary, send/receive files, annotations, etc.

Cons

There are a few quirks that come up every so often, but nothing major, and no deal killers. Creating session groups and giving others permissions can get very tricky and difficult to setup at first. Another feature that could use an update is Wake On Lan (WOL). It's finicky and doesn't always work.

I have been using ScreenConnect for several years and the product is amazing, easy to use and now with the new cloud servers, easy to configure and get setup. The only issue I have had is Connectwise recently purchased the product and integrated the customer service staff to Connectwise support. Now ScreenConnect is ticket only support, which works but does not give good value to the consumer. I would recommend this product to the tech savy individual who needs to provide fast, quality support to their end user I highly recommend.

Easy of Use and ongoing upgrades

If you are supporting friends and family members, this may work for you but if you are supporting real clients, stay clear. Support and/or even billing issues are almost non-existent.

Pros

Pricing was good for a small start up. Easy to use.

Cons

Horrible, horrible customer service and support. I was constantly getting false positives. Every once in a while agents would show up on my account I did not own.

I have been using Connectwise Control for a very long time. I self hosted this software for many years but with my server's pending failure I switched over to the Connectwise hosted product and haven't looked back. Our company has been able to reduce the amount on-site time required because we can remotely troubleshoot issues prior to arrival, not to mention fix issues remotely and eliminate the need for travel at all. Internally we use the Meeting function regularly for our remote employees.

Pros

Ease of usability, Ease of management, Well Rounded where it has Attended Clients, Un-Attended Clients and Meeting functionality, Ease of Customization,

Cons

Audit Log Queries, Mobile devices can be cumbersome, Connectwise Manage and Connectwise Control Un-Attended Client interaction

I use this software for my computer repair and support business. The connectwise control subscriptions allows me unattended access to computers that have regular maintenance schedules. The ability to have on-demand remote support sessions makes it easy to address small problems and also gives the ability to do remote service instead of on-site service calls!

Pros

The subscription fee is very competitive, the software is easy to deploy and is full featured

Cons

Some issues with UAC and working with computers with limited access accounts (non-administrator)

Pros

We purchased prior to Connectwise and it was very affordable for the feature set. Lucky for us renewals are very reasonable. As a control freak, I do appreciate that we own the endpoint instead of sending everyone "to the cloud"

Cons

We are mainly a Linux shop and their Linux software is clearly a bolt-on through mono. The Linux Java viewer is a bit wonky too. Setting different policies by customer organization would be nice as some like unattended and some don't.

After dealing with several different remote access providers Connectwise control offered exactly what we need and was Well Priced.

Pros

Able to Host onsite instead of being stuck with Provider when they decide to Rapidly Increase their Prices able to Send commands to a large number of remote computers all at the same time. Can remotely view and control Some android devices as well.

Cons

unable to remotely control ISO devices. Need to Push update to Clients rather then they auto-update to the latest.

Overall, ConnectWise has given me the power and freedom to do my job, even when I'm not present, but more importantly, it's given me the peace of mind knowing that it'll work when I need it to.

Pros

I've had problems with other remote software. Sometimes I couldn't connect, for whatever reason, whether the program stopped running on the remote computer or it was experiencing an error, etc. I've never had an issue connecting with ConnectWise, even on my most difficult PCs.

Cons

There was additional software and configurations available so that the clients would automatically update when newer versions of ConnectWise were available. This was very hard to figure out as there was little to no instructions available and it was not intuitive. Also, the mobile app is a little clunky.

When it was ScreenConnect it was the best value for money tool on the market and the only product you needed to look at. Now that it is ConnectWise Control, you need to look elsewhere and see if there are other tools that suit your purpose better.

Pros

Great software and features, robust install, on-prem install runs wells and the Android and iOS apps enable customer support to be done easily on the road.

Cons

On-prem doesn't seem to be the preferred install method, new pricing structure puts it out of reach of small operators.

Pros

It's speed is wonderful even for those clients who don't have the best internet connection. The ability for a remote user to install quickly, has helped out so much. They know they will be helped very shortly.

Cons

I wish there was an installed application that they did not have to go through an install each time. I know I can set it up where I can take over but the fact that you can see screen shots of what they are doing is not good for those users who work on confidential information.

Benefits are cost saving, ease of use, better customer response and a fast interface that works across all platforms, which for me is essential. I just think this is almost perfect, but there is always room for improvement

Pros

The software interface is better than anything else I have come across in 20 odd years of using support tools in IT. There are not real minus issues when it comes to having a tool that does what you need it to do without issues, confusion for the end user. The ease to install and manage is also a massive benefit cost wise it cannot be faulted and that coupled with second to none customer service makes ConnectWise Control the winner for me.

Cons

There is a overly complex SQL driven setup for customisation, that has none programmer I find impossible to fathom, it shouldn't be that hard this day and age, a much more user friendly drag and drop style environment would be welcome in future releases

ease of supporting remote users.

Pros

Easy to install and manage. I enjoy all of the options available though I dont use many of them. Lauching and connecting is fast.

Cons

Dual screen view could be better perhaps a method to switch them via hotkey rather than moving back and forth between them. The resolution is very difficult to see on both screens (not a program fault but my settings) and I lowse time slecting the ption from the toolbar to switch between remote monitors

Great tool, but needs refinement. If you need the basic ability to connect or support, there are cheaper tools that work better. If you need additional features, its a great price, but you need to do some studying and or plan on spending a lot of time with support.

Pros

If you are providing support from a PC it works really well. The tool is super customizable.

Cons

If you provide support from a tablet, the tool doesn't work as well. The customizability makes the tool complicated. A lot of, what I would consider to be baseline, are free, but have to be added. Documentation is hard to find and so far seems to be rudimentary.

Reason for choosing ScreenConnect

A friend of mine recommended it.
