### "Customer Service is not what it used to be"

February 27, 2020

5.0

Overall it was great the previous years. Almost no issues and when I called Connectwise Support they fixed the issue immediately. The industry says Connectwise Support is getting worse. I have started looking for alternatives.

Pros

We like the speed and capabilities of the software. I have used it at other companies and it continues to meet our requirements.

Cons

Customer Service is not what it used to be. A few weeks back our email server went down. The OTP kept sending to the account that was not accessible because the email server was down. I asked Customer Service to change my email and they said they could not do it and that I would need to turn my email server back on to get the emails. Horrible support for a 30 second issue and the person assisting refused to understand that I could not just "turn my email server back on". Sadly enough, I added this comment to the Support ticket and nobody in Connectwise Management even addressed it.

### "Great product hamstrung by its new owner."

July 30, 2019

5.0

Screenconnect was great, when it became Control I really wanted the features of Automate. It was purchased by ConnectWise and now every single thing is too complicated and requires a lot of clicking. If you have a single task you preform all day every day by all means automate it and set up scripts but for me ConnecWise asks too much uniformity from my clients and cannot be adapted in the ways I do business.

Pros

Super simple deployment and management. But that's all but gone.

Cons

ConnectWise the company. I hated every interaction with them. Imagine a single client who has several companies. Connectwise deployment folks said I could not support them the way they needed support. Imagine working with the same independent contractor on several shared clients, ConnectWise can't do that either. Want to support key people outside of their organization, find something else. Every single thing you want to do has to have a huge amount of setup to make it happen. I just wanted software that I was as flexible as I am and this is not that. Stay away.

### "IT Support FROM IT People"

April 18, 2023

5.0

So far I have a had a very good experience with CW Control and the company in general.

Pros

ConnectWise is a feature-rich product built by IT people FOR IT people.

Cons

Basic support is good but any feature problems or requests have to "go to engineering" and can take months to years to get a resolution.

### "Extremely Unhappy with ConnectWise Control / ScreenConnect - Not Recommended!"

December 31, 2019

1.0

in the last 6 months or so, my overall experience has been terrible - everything from dealing with their support, to their cloud-hosted product that I resell, to upgrading the on-premises version we use for daily remote support has been a disaster and trying to get assistance from Connectwise has been incredibly frustrating as well

Pros

not much at this point - maybe that you can do on-demand support or permanent unattended support but even that is problematic

Cons

a lot - poor software updates recently that broke things, poor support and communication from the company (especially since they were acquired by Connectwise), change for change's sake with no real rationale or need behind it, higher costs, poor compatibility, etc.

### "The best remote support software to date"

February 5, 2018

5.0

We dramatically improved our ability to support our end users by using ConnectWise. The software is easy to use, high quality, fast, and just works. We highly recommend it.

Pros

The price point is right. Compared to other remote support software, our yearly cost on just a couple of agents was about half of what we would have paid for similar software. The key for us was screen connect included unlimited client computers. We are a small team that only occasionally need to remotely access pcs without end user intervention. We didn't want to pay licensing for each and every client computer. Screen connect delivered. The interface is clean. Support sessions are fast. Computers can be organized by organization. MSI files can be generated on the fly, so deploy is a snap. We love it.

Cons

I wish it offered remote support of mobile devices (android and iOS). This was not a feature that it had when we signed up.

### "Possibly best in class for IT professionals, needs better Mac support"

March 22, 2017

4.0

We've used GoToAssist for years with over 400 unattended machines. We tried trials for TeamViewer and other options, and came back to ScreenConnect for its incredibly easy deployment, super fast connection speed, ultra flexible cloud-hosted instances and outstanding support. TeamViewer's frame rates and video compression tech may be best in class, but ScreenConnect's feature set for IT pros is really hard to beat (preview screenshot before connect, remote command execution, platform extensions, reboot and reconnect for Mac & PC, and much more).

Pros

Extremely fast and lightweight to deploy and use. Fabulous extended feature set for IT pros. Extremely flexible and totally re-brandable, even in their public cloud. Aggressive pricing for the industry and outstanding support and development teams.

Cons

Requires installing the Java JDK for Macs 10.11+ in order to reliably connect to UNATTENDED sessions. Apparently, the app is Java dependent, and Apple eliminated some code in recent OS versions. I understand they are working on eliminating this drawback, but I'm not clear as to the timetable. Also, Macs have issues with losing connection during sleep, when they didn't have that issue under GoToAssist. There are workarounds, but they aren't super elegant presently (eg - prevent sleep for laptops connected over WiFi while on AC Power, etc).

### "Long time user and superfan of this software!"

December 12, 2018

5.0

Pros

We run this on a local server and have literally hundreds of machines connected to it. It allows for unattended remote access, attended support sessions, webinars, etc... It has plugins that expand functionality, is regularly updated, and has an active forum/support community. Honestly one of the best purchases we've made as an organization and that's saying a lot.

Cons

We were grandfathered into some older pricing that made this doable. Current rates would not work for us as a non-profit. But the industry as a whole doubled/tripled pricing on remote software packages. :-(

### "Dang near perfection!"

March 5, 2020

5.0

Pros

I love that the software allows me control of the machine as if I were physically there

Cons

There really isn't anything I don't like about the software. There has been a few times when the user clicks join, then runs the applet, then for whatever it gets hung up and after about 3 minutes I'll have them try again and the moment they click join again, the session will start before the second applet even finishing installing; pretty sure it's our network, not a ConnectWise thing. Outside of that it's great.

Reason for choosing ScreenConnect

I've used this software previously and I absolutely love it.

### "ConnectWise Control Opinions "

July 9, 2019

5.0

Works great in our environment and has enable us to connect to any of our users wherever they may be. Its easy for the clients to use and connect especially if 24/7 access is setup. Would like to see the Host Pass time increased to an option of 48 hours. Many times work must be done over the weekend, this would then enable us to issue a pass for the entire weekend and be done with it!

Pros

Ease of use for myself and clients; two factor authentication . Love the Toolbox feature as it places often used apps, files, etc. at my fingertips. Being able to install consistent access to or clients is a big plus as we can see all of our devices listed with connection being just a click away. The option to pass credentials to the client is a great option to have too.

Cons

Not much, just the limitation of 24 hours on a Host Pass as this does not get us through a project over a weekends time frame.

### "ConnectWise is a great self-hosted and cheaper alternative to Logmein"

November 11, 2021

5.0

Pros

We wanted a replacement for Logmein that wasn't as expensive and was self-hosted. ConnectWise ticked all of these boxes.

Cons

File transfer can be fiddly, and if there's no monitor/display at all ConnectWise won't function where Logmein did.

### "ConnectWise Control in a medical office"

December 20, 2022

5.0

We have had a wonderful experience with ConnectWise. We use it daily to communicate with our IT provider. If an issue arises, they quickly gain control using ConnectWise. We also love the ability to connect to our work desktop when we are out of the office.

Pros

ConnectWise is a vital tool for communication and the ability to easily access our desktops when we are not in the office. Our IT provider recommended it several years ago and it allows them easy access when there is an issue or when a computer needs immediate updates and files.

Cons

There aren't any features of ConnectWise that we feel need to be improved at this time.

### "Excellent remote support tool"

June 19, 2019

5.0

I've been using ConnectWise Control for about three years, in a multi-branch company, on a small IT team, there is absolutely no way I could do my job without it.

Pros

Performance is fast over most internet connections. It takes less than two seconds to to connect to a session and begin working with a remote user.

Cons

### "Fantastic product"

October 12, 2018

5.0

Very, very happy with CW Control. We've been using it since it was ScreenConnect and have no intention of ever leaving, ever!

Pros

I love that it's self hosted. For us that's a really big deal as our clients require that we avoid the use of public cloud where ever possible.

Cons

There's nothing that I actually dislike about the software, however, you need to ensure that you have it on reasonably specified VM as if you go too low with RAM it runs slowly. It also needs to updated regularly. The process is simple but still manual. It would be great if it was automatic or, at least, single touch.

### "Best bang for the buck"

September 19, 2018

5.0

Small IT consulting shop with a need to manage our diverse and large inventory of desktops for our end user. ConnectWise Control (previously ScreenConnect) fit the bill for us. We were one of the early adopter of the product and we are glad we made the decision to invest in this tool.

Pros

Lots of features for the price. Able to customize the service is also a big win for us. Ease of use for our end users is also a big plus for us.

Cons

Would love to see full integration of other products/services as one product (remote access, patch management, monitoring, etc) and a single pane of glass.

### "Fairly Good Screensharing app"

April 12, 2019

4.0

My department has used ConnectWise Control and ScreenConnect in the past mostly to wirelessly connect laptops or tablets to the desktops that project on our conference room displays. Our department handles training for the hospital, so we often have to present on our feet. Training also means that we are often away from our desks in the office of others. We will use ConnectWise to access functions that are only accessible at our personal workstations.

Pros

ConnectWise easily allows to present wirelessly when no other solution is available. With the proper settings within our firewall, ConnectWise allows secure remote connections even in our highly secure network. Within our department, ConnectWise allows us to share issues with each other via screen sharing. iOS app is well updated and maintained.

Cons

Sometimes, ConnectWise conflicts with our firewall settings. ConnectWise could improve in allow more control over VPN settings. iOS app logs me out at inconvenient times, and I've had difficulty reconnecting.

### "Incredibly fast and reliable Remote Control solution"

October 12, 2018

5.0

This solution is fantastic for an MSP such as myself that needs to provide support to clients. The ability to start an ad-hoc session easily or have a persistent remote session option available to fit the situation works as it should. I keep repeating myself, but the speed and simplicity of using this product is fantastic. I'm also pretty happy with the pace of innovation and new features that they continue to add to the product.

Pros

The speed of the product and the ease of implementation.

Cons

The licensing model has changed over the years and it seems to be more limited in the ways that you can buy and use it now if you are not a ConnectWise partner. At least the last time I checked. I am a ConnectWise partner so I have 100% of the functionality that I want. I haven't tried their remote printing feature in well over a year, but that is the only aspect of this software that ever disappointed. It was never something that I really wanted or needed myself, but since I allow some of my clients to use my Control instance to access their own machines from home I did try to get it working a while back. It was pretty inconsistent at that time and I have not gone back to see if it works better or not in the latest versions.

### "Solid, easy to use remote control."

August 25, 2020

5.0

I love it, its great. I use it every day. It's features and ease of use make my job much easier and seamless for the end users that I am trying to assist.

Pros

\- It is extremely easy to use. -Multiple ways to connect... You can connect to a remote user over the web by having them navigate to a website and then enter your code. You can send the an email link or you can pre-install the screen connect client on their PC and choose their PC when ready to connect. - It is s very smooth user experience - Built in remote Chat feature - Wake lock feature, when enabled it keeps the system from going to sleep while you are connected. - Automatic reconnect after rebooting. - My favorite option the the "view"option that lets you send a text to a users camera enabled smart phone and connect to your session. It allows them to show you with their camera phone what is going on with their PC, Very useful for troubleshooting physical issues or cable connections.

Cons

Sometimes the web client will not download in Internet explorer. Not may users are still using that though so not a huge issue, have had no other issues in other browsers.

### "Quick Easy and Cost Effective"

February 25, 2020

5.0

We have used a variety of remote access services and platforms in the past, from gotomypc to logmein, and this one by far surpasses them all in ease of use, reliability, incredibly fast connections, and cost efficiency. I would recommend this product for any business big or small. If you have alternate locations or just needing to quickly log onto your server or any other computer in your organization, this is the way to do it! It is super easy and user friendly that even my non tech-savoy staff can figure out how to log into another computer with the ease of just a few clicks. Couldn't speak highly enough of this product/service.

Pros

The SPEED!!! If I need to log into another computer to resolve a problem I'm in that computer in about 3-5 seconds from pulling up connect-wise on my browser. I used to have to wait sometimes up to 5-10 mins with other providers. The speed efficiency is incredible!!

Cons

No issue found so far. I like all the features of the software.

Reason for choosing ScreenConnect

My IT guy referred me to go to it because they started using it recently for their company.

### "It was easy to setup, customise, and start using. Customers are impressed. Couldn't ask for more."

April 12, 2018

5.0

Pros

Multiple customer connection methods allows this to function flexibly across environments with different levels of restrictions. As standard this product provides features that their competitors offer only on their premium tiers. The customisation features allow us to provide our own branding for the end user experience. Their product has a smooth integration into the CRM we use for technical support.

Cons

To be honest it's difficult to criticise, they excel in all areas including those which I've found deficiencies with their competitors. If anything I would say that there is a limit to how far you can customise, but arguably the provided customisation features are more than reasonable.

### "Excellent Security !"

March 30, 2023

5.0

Overall, ConnectWise Control is an effective remote access and support programme that provides companies with a number of features and advantages. When deciding whether it's the best tool for your company, it's essential to take into account any potential drawbacks, including pricing, limited integrations, a steep learning curve, limited mobile support, and limited customization.

Pros

Due to its end-to-end encryption, two-factor authentication, and session confirmation prompts, ConnectWise Control offers a high degree of security. Businesses can brand the UI with ConnectWise Control to give it a more polished and distinctive appearance.

Cons

ConnectWise Control can be expensive, especially for small businesses or those with a limited budget.

Pros

ConnectWise give us the ability to have control of all local resources at our fingertips, as well as the flexibility to easily connect to external users to provide support with very easy to understand instructions for end users with little technical ability. ConnectWise control makes help desk support a breeze!
