### "Good product that could use a few improvements"

December 7, 2023

5.0

Pros

Unattended/Remote access is very easy to use. Installing the agent on machines is easy and can also be automated.

Cons

Some admin functions such as maintaining users/roles/security permissions are not very intuitive, and can be hard to figure out at first.

### "Good Product, Disappointing Support"

April 7, 2021

4.0

Overall, we have been happy with the product. It typically works as expected without issue. The biggest problem with the software is the subpar vendor support. The mobile app is also lacking compared to it's competitors. The app simply opens the web page interface.

Pros

ConnectWise Control simply works as expected. There are very few issues with remote control access. The tools included with the software typically work without issue. Installation is quick and easy.

Cons

Product support is disappointing. On the few occasions that I have needed to reach out to support, I ultimately figured out how to correct the problem myself. Fortunately, I have not needed to contact support often.

Ultimately, the price of ConnectWise Control was much more reasonable than other products that were evaluated while the product functionality was equal.

### "ConnectWise Control - Amazing Remote Support Utility"

August 30, 2019

5.0

Over CW Control has been a game-changer in how our company delivers remote support to our clients. It has allowed us to operate more efficiently and gives our techs the tool they need to provide awesome remote support. Since we have started using it we have not even considered looking for an alternative tool.

Pros

Connectwise Control is an easy to use software that allows our company to provide remote access and remote support to our clients. The software was extremely easy to setup and configure and get running. Once it was set up and running it just works. It is the fastest remote access tool we have ever used. It connects to sessions in seconds, not minutes like some of the other remote access tools out there. The layout of the software is great and make navigation for our techs and also the end-users simple. The built-in toolbox and remote file transfer also are dead simple to use and always work. It allows us to copy a file over to a desktop we are supporting, or to copy need diagnostic info back to our techs computers. Control includes multiple options for 2-factor auth which is a must these days for tools like this.

Cons

The least liked portion of Control is that support is not always easy to get a hold of and sometimes does not always have the best solutions or fixes during the initial support engagement.

### "We have had nothing but success while using ConnectWise Control on a daily basis."

May 26, 2018

5.0

We have been able to remotely solve many issues - saving a trip to the client location(s).

Pros

We find that it is much faster and far more convenient than typical RDP and other remote solutions that we have tried. Of the features we find to be the most useful is the file transfer feature (including the built-in toolbox), and the behind the scenes command prompt feature. We use the command prompt feature all the time as to not disturb the user while modifying the system. We support over 500 seats across 25+ customers at multiple sites and the software works great. We have the client installed on Windows, Linix, and Mac OS systems. We counton this software to avoid costly site visits, and it has never let us down.

Cons

There isn't much to negatively say about this software. We run this software on a self-hosted server rather than cloud hosted by the vendor. As such, we are responsible for updating on our own. We had run into a few hiccups in the past when upgrading the software on the server, however, even with the issues, support was able to help us remedy.

### "A reliable remote solution"

June 2, 2023

5.0

Overall, a great and easy solution which is essential to our day to day, providing IT support

Pros

The ability to have an easy rollout, ease of use for engineers and end users (as a replacement for RDP).

Cons

There are instances where it can take a while for the device to show as online before you can reconnect

### "One of the best remote tools I've ever used !"

January 9, 2020

5.0

The company I work for is supporting over 300 customers and when I came to work here, all remote connections were manually made. Ofcourse not so efficient. So I started to implement Devolutions Remote Desktop Manager, where I could create a lot of our remote connections but unfortunately not all. Especially the remote connections which need a VPN connection before using RDP to remotely connect to the server. It is possible in RDM (jump to a virtual machine on the network, start the VPN connection there and then RDP into the server), which is time consuming (over 2 minutes per session). Therefor I was looking for a quicker solution, but still with the security a VPN connection has to offer. And then I found ConnectWise Control, which does all that. Once I tried the trial version and extended it (with help of the CW support team), I was sure this was the solution I was looking for. Now it only takes me 15 seconds to remotely connect to remote server. And not only me, but thanks to the integration in RDM my fellow colleagues can use the same configured session and start the remote connections.

Pros

The ease of set up, price, LDAP intergration, RDM (Devolutions Remote Desktop Manager) integration, email notifications

Cons

The set up of email notifications can be a little difficult to master. Once mastered, it's quite simple.

### "Helpful remote tool for a small business"

December 1, 2022

5.0

ConnectWise works as expected for a competitive price. When many remote tools realized how many businesses were going to switch to remote work they started jacking up their prices. Connectwise has stayed very affordable.

Pros

The quick ability for deployment. We needed an immediate solution when our company became remote during the pandemic and it's been a very beneficial tool.

Cons

The installation process is sometimes a little finicky. We've occasionally had some issues when the service decides to not boot correctly and we have to re-install.

### "Great remote access software"

October 19, 2018

5.0

Overall, I really like it. I use DigitalOcean.com to host the web app. It runs on an Ubuntu server and uses Letsencrypt for the SSL. I would recommend setting up the 2 step authentication to protect your computers and clients from anyone who would try to hack your app.

Pros

ConnectWise Control is a great product for accessing my multiple computers from home, work, and anywhere I have an internet connection. I can even control a computer from my phone. It makes helping my parents and tech support clients a breeze. It lessens the "what do you see?" questions I have to ask to try to visualize what is happening on their computer because I can see the screen. The initial price may be high for some, but the annual cost to renew the license is very affordable.

Cons

Initial set up on a self-hosted system was a challenge, but I figured it out. Getting a user to install the client app on their side can be a bit challenging even as I try to talk them through the procedure. Chrome browser does not like the web app because I am still trying to figure out the SSL.

### "Great Choice for our needs"

July 23, 2019

5.0

With ConnectWise control, our support teams are able to quickly determine if a system or location (with multiple systems) are offline since the client app maintains a connection to the Control Panel. Also, the settings can be configured to allow systems to be assigned to HelpDesk team members without exposing all of the systems and remote access can be configured to require end user consent before connecting.

Pros

The ConnectWise Control software allows our internal IT support to easily manage in house systems and Servers without requiring end user input. Our HelpDesk team uses ConnectWise Manage for our customers' systems and Control is a part of that software as well.

Cons

We have yet to find an issue or complaint with using this software. Initially, we had to manually update the clients when new versions came out but now that the updates are automatic the software functions to our complete satisfaction.

Reason for choosing ScreenConnect

We really liked the ability to install client agents on all of our internal systems at a very reasonable cost and being able to organize our systems by Company location for ease of access. We had intermittent issues with our previous products regarding end user rights or trying to enter admin credentials, when prompted, whereas this product allows us to save credentials to a clipboard and paste without the end user viewing, as well as reboot/reconnect, manage multiple end user screens, and chat.

### "ConnectWise Control is our Remote control app"

July 10, 2022

Pros

It is very easy to use. Very like to our customer. One-off the best future is it works on the client-side if the admin right is set and the user did not have the right to install any software. It is not needed to install any software.

Cons

One con is using this application on MAC PC. Required some experience to make some right for this software. Sometimes did not start in WIN PC.

### "The ONLY way to manage 100+ endpoint and servers"

February 1, 2021

5.0

There are many other ways to have remote access but for MSPs and SMBs with just one or two IT guys, this is a experience changing product. Half of my "wizardry"(as my co-workers call it) is done through ConnectWise Control. Whether is fix a broken desktop icon, give them admin rights on the local PC, troubleshoot a mic issue, or update their email signature, I can do it without ever logging in to their PC. Being able to troubleshoot while they can still work is a game changer!

Pros

Setup and deployment takes about 5 minutes if you know what you are doing. Pick a subdomain, download the msi, deploy via gpo, intune, etc. For guest support, send a quick email, they click a link and presto! The remote command line has saved my butt more than a few times!!

Cons

The ONLY thing I have truly needed that isn't available is Remote File Transfer on the mobile apps. I have gotten to where I use the app almost 50% of the time

Reason for choosing ScreenConnect

Easy to use, easy to deploy, inexpensive, and full of features.

### "Screenconnect - vital remote support tool"

March 14, 2024

5.0

We've been using this product for several years and it's the best remote support tool I've used to date. The ability to share multiple monitors, transfer files and use the backstage environment are all critical to my teams daily success in providing remote support.

Pros

My team and I use Connectwise ScreenConnect daily to provide remote support, diagnostics, patching, virus remediation, etc.. It's fast, very flexible, provides a shell environment called backstage that allows us to tweak computers without impacting the end user.

Cons

There's nothing currently that I dislike about the product.

### "Worst support you can find out there - email and chat only, no phone support"

July 26, 2021

3.0

I was "ok" with it until I needed help - desperately, and the response was astonishing. None basically, we will help you when we feel like it. When you are running a business, this is simply not going to work.

Pros

Remote worked ok most of the time, chat was fine.

Cons

support is chat and email only, if you have issues on the weekend, your down. They don't care if you are down and email you when they feel like it, extremely frustrating when you have over 300 nodes to support. Had to set up a free trial of another software just to help my clients while they "fixed" my issues.

Reason for choosing ScreenConnect

Was only the second product I tried, join.me was terrible, so tried this. Now have to move on again and find one that actually cares about their customers and you can talk to a human, which will be worth the extra cost.

### "Dead simple to deploy, unprecedented control."

February 5, 2018

5.0

It is simply the exact solution I was looking for. It's what makes my entire job possible, managing over a dozen computers in separate locations all across the company. I've had zero issues with deployment or my daily use, and I never have issues with the clients failing, settings being changed, etc. It lets the client side user know that I've taken control, but it allows them to do very little other than that. That means I can keep tabs on these systems and always be sure they are secure.

Pros

Everything. I use Connectwise Control to remotely manage computers in a variety of locations across the company. I started out with a more popular and common brand of remote software and keeping it deployed, running, and configured correctly on over a dozen computers was nearly impossible. One of our security experts recommended Connectwise, and it was the perfect solution. I can see a snapshot of every computer in the company, connect to any of them instantly from one dashboard, and perform all sorts of operations. Deploying the client is as simple as emailing my managers a file and having them click on it, and I have never had issues with the clients once they are deployed. A fantastic remote system.

Cons

I would love to see further development on mobile control solutions. It exists now, I would just like to see it become even more robust.

### "Great product"

October 12, 2018

4.0

Overall, experiences from the staff are excellent boosting productivity for the support we provide our clients where we have over 1500 end points. We would be lost without it. We have used other competing products and have run into compatibility issues and glitches. Connect just works!

Pros

Very easy to setup and use as well as deploying across many machines during a client onboarding. The application is lightweight that wouldn't impact the computers.

Cons

They have changed their pricing model to leverage per users since the acquisition from Connectwise. There are features to integrate with their other Connectwise products (Automate and Manage) but would be forced to transition from our legacy license that allows for x simultaneous sessions will all the features to a per technician model with features that are packaged which would end up being more expensive... Would be nice if we can categorize in sub-folders or containers to better organize. Maybe a feature they may be working on.

### "Super Handy!"

December 5, 2019

5.0

We support Thousands of clients utilizing this software with ease.

Pros

Makes managing hundreds of endpoint clients much easier than ever before. Interface is nice, as well as the ability to interact and send commands to machines.

Cons

We have been using this since it was Screenconnect way back before Connectwise purchased the product. the new subscription model is not super cost efficient, and they charge way more for a one time license than ever before.

Without this most valuable tool, I would not be able to help our customers when installing their O365 and telecommunication tools easily. We are able to set up multiple unique logins and email each and every one of our customers and users and see when they are on all from a single pane of view.

Pros

Customized URL, Windows, and iOS compatible, easy to use console whereby you can send CTRL-ALT\_Delete command and easy to switch and control multiple screens.

Cons

### "Control Review - Feb 2021"

February 3, 2021

4.0

Not bad, but not great either. There are MANY other competitive offerings compared to yours. Keep this in mind and continue to add MORE features like integrated patching and monitoring, without forcing customers between using ScreenConnect and having to move over to Automate. There needs to be more options in between. Cost is on a annual/monthly basis, so service must be a TOP PRIORITY.

Pros

Widely accepted and used by a large base of IT Support

Cons

Yes, integration and support, also need for beginner setup and training via video training portal. Found it unintuitive to integrate for the upfront cost.

Reason for choosing ScreenConnect

Flat rate annual cost for unlimited endpoints. Keep this in mind to add other offerings. Monthly billing is a HUGE liability for us to incur and then hope to re-sell to clients. End clients find it more attractive for access as part of a service, and not another 'add-on' monthly billing cost to the current costs they already have.

### "Very Smooth. No issues since migrating from Teamviewer"

February 5, 2018

5.0

Was much cheaper than teamviewer for better features in most case. I also really like that you guys offer flexible billing terms such as month to month billing that teamviewer does not offer.

Pros

Very easy to use. I really like the online landing page that I can send clients to and how I can generate a code for them or that they can make their own session. I like the cross platform compatibility and the reporting tools from within the software. Also like the build tool to create unattended access on machines that need it. Software is very fast, I've rarely ever had an issue with speed. When I do, the issue is usually bandwidth related with the client on the other side of the connection which is clearly not something you guys can do something about. I really like that the software is all cloud run though if you choose that route.

Cons

There are a couple of things I'd really like to change. I wish there was a standalone desktop client like teamviewer. I used that a lot and don't like to have to continue to navigate back to the online portal. I liked just keeping my desktop application open all day and referencing back to that when needed. I wish the Mac interface was a little more built out as well. I am constantly amazed with the difference in the amount of tools available to the Windows client opposed to the mac. I understand that most computers being support are windows based, but still mac is very relevant with many clients I work with. Also, the ability to customize the interface, while extensive, is not intuitive. It take a long time to locate the one item you are trying to change such as the logo in the top right corner and then requires a program like photoshop to design to specs required by software. I wish there was a way to update the software / administer the software from the frontend portal instead of having to go to a different portal to update / make changes to billing information and such.

### "Overall a wonderful remote access solution for employees."

January 27, 2021

5.0

This provides what seems to be a very sturdy, secure remote access experience.

Pros

I can quickly audit events to find out who/what/where/when of remote access. I can view a timeline of device status/connectivity. The user experience is excellent. It allows copying and pasting into the session, file transfer, printer sharing, and multiple screens. You should get a demo. \*\*even though my "con" section is long, they are by far less trouble than what the product does deliver on.\*\*

Cons

I use the command line and PowerShell for some administrative tasks, but I don't install it on all machines so I rely on other management methods. It could use some more network monitoring functionality, if that is an intended feature of the product, but I think that is what ConnectWise Manage is for. The interface to configure some of the advanced features could use an overhaul because the buttons/controls do not draw on the screen very well. I wish changes to what functionality the users are allowed didn't reboot the instance of Control because it boots everyone off.

Reason for choosing ScreenConnect

I used this at a previous job, so I just made sure the pricing was competitive with others (don't remember their names). This will never be free, and it beats the free tier out there in many good ways.
