### "Best patient charting and management "

August 21, 2025

4.0

My overall experience with Elation has been fantastic. The platform has significantly improved our clinic's workflow and efficiency.

Pros

I love how user-friendly Elation is. The charting process is streamlined, and I can easily navigate through patient records. The customizable templates and workflows have saved me so much time, allowing me to focus more on patient care. The customer support team is also super responsive and helpful.

Cons

One thing I would like to see improved is the billing module. Sometimes, I have encountered minor glitches when generating claims, which can be frustrating. However, the support team has always been able to troubleshoot and resolve the issues quickly.

Reason for choosing Elation

We chose Elation because of its intuitive and user friendly interface, which made it easier for our team to adopt and navigate. Elation's customer support team was also very responsive and helpful during the implementation process. Additionally, Elation's pricing model was more competitive and scalable for our clinic's needs. Overall, Elation's combination of ease of use, robust features, and excellent support made it the best fit for our practice.

### "Don’t do it"

August 4, 2025

1.0

Had to close my 3+ year old clinic because of their poor customer support, poor billing support, unable to get billing customer support from someone with enough knowledge and experience of the process and ended up losing my whole business because of them.

Pros

Ease of learning to use, everything is on the main page for each chart, easy to navigate. Not much else

Cons

Customer support, unable to speak with a person when you have an urgent need. Have stepped into the billing “world” and they absolutely shouldn’t have.

### "Poor support, terrible customer Service"

January 28, 2026

1.0

POOR support. No follow-up, no response to support emails I sent 17 days ago. I still have not even received an acknowledgement or response. It appears they are very understaffed based on response times

Pros

Ease of use-but that only helps when it works! It is very sluggish once your practice grows. Sometimes taking 20-30 seconds to load a pt chart

Cons

TERRIBLE customer service, no follow-up, no response to support emails. It appears they are very understaffed based on response timed and I am very concerned they are going out of business. So i would be very cautious about starting with them at this juncture

### "10 year plus user."

May 5, 2025

3.0

Though I think the customer service is terrible I still think this is the best medical software I've used. And I've used about a dozen of them. Would I buy the product again? Yes. Would I recommend it, Yes. Though if the price keeps climbing I may have to rethink my choice.

Pros

Ease of use. I can teach a new provider the basics in minutes and send them out to see patients. The patient charts are laid out by date and time so you can either scroll or use the search function to find what you need. Usually the information you need is within 2 or 3 clicks. You don't have to scroll through or click through screen after screen to find what you need. I used one system where you had to click through 31 screens to get to the front patient page. With this system 1 or 2 clicks and you have the information you need. If you accidentally delete a note its easy to retrieve it.

Cons

Terrible customer service. You are more likely to get the President of the USA on the phone before you can get someone separated from their keyboard and answer a phone or call you back. The help files (FAQ) are getting better but they are equally worthless. You can spend hours trying to find or fix a problem that could easily be fixed by a short phone call from a real person. I've been using the Elation Software over 10 years and they are simply not listening when we tell them they need to answer the phone. The scheduling module needs work. To change a patients appointment you have to physically delete it and reschedule in the new time. No drag and drop. You can't schedule repeat visits for patients but you can schedule repeat visits for staff meetings and such. All my patients are seen every month which means I have to schedule each patient manually every month.

### "My experiences after 8 years of using Elation software."

March 4, 2025

4.0

I've been very pleased. I've been using the software for 8 years now and I'm very happy with it, I have no problem recommending it. I also appreciate that most of the time they are quite responsive as well - I get help quickly when I have an issue with something.

Pros

I like the software for documenting my office visits. It's just laid out the way I want it. It's easy to work with, fast, intuitive for me, and adaptable enough for my personal preferences. It helps me get my work done with the least amount of hassle. I like that a lot, that's what I want.

Cons

The iPhone app. Not very good at all. The login is to tedious and it doesn't have enough features. Elation over the years has not really put a lot of effort into making it better either.

### "Loving it overall"

December 20, 2024

5.0

Overall my experience has been great and my worries are based on other people's social media posts about Elation. If I weren't a social media user, none of these concerns would occur to me and I'd be happy each day with my EMR choice.

Pros

I left a practice which was using a clumsy and poorly-related EMR that seemed to be stuck in the 1990s. I chose Elation for my new practice, and every day it delights me. What I like most is that it is modern and able to do things one would expect to be able to do based on the technological advances of today. There are so many common sense functions that Elation can do that my previous EMR couldn't do.

Cons

I worry about the customer support, because I have heard that it is seriously lacking in this product. Happily, nothing so far has gone significantly wrong for me to have to get help; every question I have had has been answerable through Elation websites and online forums or Elation Facebook groups. I do also worry about the cost; it is affordable to me now, but I worry that the company will take advantage of me in the future and that the cost will rise exponentially when it would be harder to switch. I've seen social media posts where people complain that the price gets jacked up unexpectedly with time.

Reason for choosing Elation

I heard that Atlas did not have a good portal for communication with patients so I ruled that out early. I had a demonstration with Cerbo but I didn't like it visually. The demonstration of Elation was better -- the layout was more in tune with how my brain organizes a chart.

### "Great for most things; limitations when it comes to IOS"

March 27, 2026

4.0

overall good, once I realized what was going amiss with document access for clients. Elation needs to get on the IOS bandwagon - a large segment of the population uses it as their sole means of internet access.

Pros

I like the ability to communicate privately and securely between multiple practitioners and clients.

Cons

Does not interface 100% with IOS, so when clients are using an iPad or an iPhone to interact, they cannot receive documents from their provider.

### "Terrible experience and getting worse"

November 7, 2024

1.0

Difficult- regret using them, I did not expect them to remove the very features that I required in an EMR and very clearly communicated to them at onset

Pros

When I joined they had great auto text reminders for appts and a great option to hire a part time employee

Cons

Choosing Elation for my business has resulted in significant and immeasurable losses in both time and money. I had stringent criteria when selecting an EMR, and Elation met those needs initially. However, once I was fully integrated and reliant on their system, they removed key functionality that had been a dealbreaker in my decision to use their software. Their proposed solution was for me to hire additional staff to handle the added workload this change created—a costly and inefficient resolution. When I found an alternative software solution that could bridge the gap, Elation would only permit integration if I first paid for software development time (a reasonable request I was willing to meet), but on top of that, they demanded an additional $500 per month, per provider, indefinitely. This meant I had to pay a substantial ongoing fee just to mitigate a problem Elation itself caused by removing critical features that were in place when I signed up. On top of that, Elation has redefined what it means to be a part-time provider, further increasing my costs. Originally, the part-time rate applied to providers seeing patients for fewer than 10 hours per week, a condition I verified before subscribing. Without notice, Elation changed this definition to any provider logging into the system more than three days a week will be charged as a full time provider. This means I will be forced to pay full time access for my provider, who only sees patients for 2 to 5 hours per week, I cannot disallow her from simple tasks like checking her schedule or reviewing lab results. This is a completely unreasonable and arbitrary shift. Customer service has become practically non-existent, leaving us with little support or recourse. Overall, partnering with Elation has proven to be an enormous mistake, leading to substantial operational and financial setbacks.

### "Simple and Reliable for Patient Management"

August 23, 2025

4.0

Overall, Elation is a reliable tool that helps save time with patient management, records, and billing. It has a small learning curve and is good value for money. A few areas can improve, but it’s a solid system for daily use.

Pros

Elation is easy to use and makes patient records and management simple. The layout is clean, and it doesn’t take long to learn. Billing is also smooth and organized.

Cons

Sometimes it can be slow, and a few features could be more flexible. Reports could also be easier to customize.

### "Elation Review"

June 23, 2025

Overall Elation delivered the features and functionality we were looking for despite the price being a concern for our budget. We would recommend this to other organziatons.

Pros

My team and I felt like this platform was user friendly and easy to navigate. We also found the support team to be a great help for all our questions and concerns. My team liked that they could customize the software to fit their search needs.

Cons

This application can be a bit pricey if you have a large team. We noticed sometimes the application would have minor glitches, maybe to many users downloading documents/reports causing a system glitch. We had some issues with integrating the software but support was grewat.

### "Intuitive and a Huge Timesaver"

July 28, 2024

5.0

I have used Epic and Cerbo. Epic was lots of screen changes to enter information. None of that in Elation. Cerbo is basically a blank canvas, overkill for most things, and a separate filing cabinet drawer for everything making finding anything difficult. By comparison, Elation is SO. EASY. Saves time, less aggravation, more complete charts. I am so happy I started with Elation as I have no intention of changing.

Pros

I love that I don't have to think about a chart layout while I am charting as the layout is already set up and you only need to fill in the boxes. It is very intuitive and the descriptors they use make sense. And everything is on one page! What to look at a previous chart? You can have it open right next to the chart you're working on. Same with labs. You can write a referral right from the chart and send it straight away. Most user boxes in the chart can easily be dragged and rearranged. Everything is easy, logical, and intuitive and thus a huge timesaver.

Cons

When you are typing in a box, you have to hit "shift + enter" to move down a line and not down to the next box. That's really the only trick. A con is that there is a little "x" in the bottom right of a box and if you accidently hit that, everything in the box is gone and there is no "ctrl Z' to get it back. You'll learn not to write long boxes because of this. Complaints about this have not resolved it. No Fullscript integration.

### "Poor Onboarding and Customer Service"

June 24, 2024

4.0

Onboarding has been a nightmare. I have had Elation for three months now and they still have not built my charts. That was the only way I was going to move EMR's-was if I didn't have to build all my own charts again. I was not given correct instructions for data download/upload and it has caused a huge lag. I have had to pay to keep both my old and new EMR open so I can have access to my patient data. I am having to build my patient charts as I see patients so they are not blank. I had a very kind onboarding person and she was very communicative. However, I think they may not have trained her properly or the entire system is not setup well. I have been handed over to the tech team and told some type of "retention" team was going to help as well. Have not heard from them yet.

Pros

I like the fact that you can prescribe through SureScripts.

Cons

The lack of customer service. I have been handed off several times.

Reason for choosing Elation

Incoming and outgoing fax is integrated, they use SureScripts, and they would build all my existing charts.

### "Pros and cons after 4yrs. This program is out of dated. Needs to update."

February 22, 2022

3.0

I wanted to support a small local company, and wished many local physicians are connected. But Elation EHR is not updating by themselves, and it is getting out of dated.

Pros

East to use. No special training is required.

Cons

As a family physician, I have to review tons on consultation notes and labs, radiology, vaccine..... It is very hard to review the records due to the way of chart which is already built-in. If I review visit notes, I have to scroll down all the way to the end...... It takes so long, and my eyes get tired in rolling over all screen. Also this program is hard to get along for this coming new generation. It is hard to monitor messages between providers and patients. When I email a message to a patient, there is no outbox to follow up. When patients send me messages , there are no inboxes. This is out of date. Also problem with integration. Common vital sign machine and scale is not being integrated. I contacted them once. They charge $5,000 per one device. It's ridiculous. If you want to save labor and time, the machine needs to be integrated with software. The purpose of EHT is to make work effective. If the software doesn't support it, it is out of date. I used it for 4yrs, and feels comfortable. But unless the software is updated, it is not worth it. Also support is problem. I have to send a message urgently if I want to talk to someone. If I send a message regularly, I don't hear it for long.

### "Easy and simple but not very powerful or robust"

April 1, 2021

3.0

Underwhelmed, overcharged. Switching to Cerbo or maybe AtlasMD or Akute Health

Pros

It's true you can figure it out in an hour or less. Very simple.

Cons

It's very simple. You can't customize anything at all about the look or layout of the information. Don't like the order in which information is displayed on the left side of the screen? Get used to it. Want to send a fax? You can, you just have to call it a referral, no matter what. So you if you want to fax something that isn't about a particular patient, you have to a create a fake patient called Mister Fax or whatever you like and then go into that chart and refer Mister Fax to whatever fax number you wanted, upload the file you wanted to fax into Mister Fax's chart, and attach that to the referral. Just as an example. So yeah, you can "fax out" as they say in their marketing. Also missing some obvious functionality. For example, when you're in the patients chart it says when any upcoming appointments are, in blue like it's a link. If they don't have an upcoming appointment, it says no upcoming appointment, and it's still in blue like it's a link. But it isn't! Wouldn't be obvious to make it so that you can click on that and schedule an appointment? So you tell support your brilliant/obvious idea and they say they'll put in a queue of upgrades to consider and it never happens. I also don't like that the price went up from $275 to $350 a month with absolutely zero improvements in the product. Then they got a bunch of Series C financing and guess what? Still, nothing is improved.

### "Grateful for a positive experience"

May 31, 2023

I want to take this opportunity to thank you for helping me set up my EHR Elation and integrate it with spruce, electronic fax and labs, it has been a grueling process to open a clinic in 3 months. I wanted to thank you for assigning me to \[sensitive content hidden\] who made my transition easy and troublefree, whenever something wasnt right she took the initiative to fix it quickly and communicated with me regularly. She even made herself available by cell phone after hours and on weekends. That is a level of commitment and dedication that reminded me of myself as a physician, however, I expect that from myself I dont expect it from others because the world doesnt usually work that way. The number of people that I know commit themselves are the ones that deserve recognition and make the physician trust building experience soar. Since I met \[sensitive content hidden\] I have told no less than 200 doctors about Elation through my discussion groups and now I am encouraging my Immunology partner to adopt elation through a customized process, something \[sensitive content hidden\] was happy to assist with right away. My experiences with other EMR systems in 20 years of practice have been a mixed bag, this is the first time I enjoy using my software and share it with every patient. I believe that a person needs to show gratitude when he receives this level of service because it isnt common especially in technical support. It has been an experience for me beyond my expectations and I am pleased. Whatever training program you

### "Elation is intuitive to use"

March 7, 2022

5.0

Overall it has been good. Customer Support answers quickly, but honestly we have not needed much customer support.

Pros

Overall it's very easy to learn and teach new staff. Most staff members can be up and running with 1 hour of training or less. There are not a lot of screens, which makes it easy to find things. Honestly, it's easier to find items than in a paper chart. Templates are easy to create. We have used the patient forms templates to use for new patient paperwork, helping us minimize data entry.

Cons

As a surgeon, some of my schedule happens at the hospital. There is no way to create surgery slots that don't also send appointment reminders to patients, so it must be entered as a "meeting" and it doesn't link to the patient account. I have asked for a fix for 2.5 years, but it appears to be low on the list of upgrades.
