### "Sencha controls are good for large applications with less time and more features required."

July 3, 2018

4.0

Pros

Sencha provides with rich UI components covering all major functionalities e.g in sencha grid we have been provided with grouping, sorting, pivoting, filter, buffering etc features. There is less effort required from developer just needs to understand configs and apply it as per requirement. Another fascinating feature is its cross browser compatibility which makes it easy to use it in any browser.

Cons

Too expensive comparing to some other controls available in the market. There is not much support on internet for sencha - EXT JS 6.5.Customer support is not much effective too. Sencha grids with large number of columns are slow. No row spanning feature in sencha grids.

### "Fantastic for grid-heavy business applications"

August 26, 2025

5.0

Very good. Never needed support as there is plenty of online documentation including excellent documentation by Sencha.

Pros

Excellent framework with unparalleled grid functionality and a "one-stop shop" for developers of complex B2B business web apps who need a range of forms, grids, charts, calendars etc. in their apps.

Cons

Steep learning curve for new hires and not as popular as other (free to developer) UX frameworks such as React or Angular. But ExtJs provides more functionality for complex grid-heavy business apps like in accounting, or ERP or logistics, maybe the $5K/developer up-front cost well worth it.

### "Built Strong, Maintained Weakly"

August 27, 2025

After 10 years of development, we have no choice, we have to continue... or we have to rewrite everything

Pros

product was and remain a robust framework with complete group of object to manage/create a web business application.

Cons

Customer support is inadequate. Tickets rarely receive thorough investigation, and the burden of proof falls on the reporter—who can spend weeks reproducing and documenting issues. Development also seems stalled: releases now arrive annually, whereas they used to be monthly

### "End result is good, but high developer learning curve"

August 26, 2025

4.0

Quite good but developer learning curve would make us unlikely to adopt it in new projects. End result is good, but high developer learning curve.

Pros

Works well in major browsers. High quality ui for administration panels. Not mobile-friendly, but thats not a requirement for us.

Cons

High developer learning curve. Slow build process with java (error messages shown that according to support should be ignored). Documentation could be better. License pricing is very high. Large json/js arrays with the code can be problematic to work in.

### "Very good product, despite a few pain points."

May 7, 2025

4.0

Overall positive, saves a lot of time versus starting with just Bootstrap and jQuery. MVC paradigm helps with app design - if you use it as intended.

Pros

\- MVC paradigm - built in UI themes and ability to bring our own easily - politeness with other runtime packages (D3, etc.) - comprehensive reference docs

Cons

\- Design of Ext means that Sencha Test is really required to have good Selenium-style tests. - Difficult to work with individual grid cells, rows, columns; whether addressing, getting, formatting or setting values. - Licensing related bug in Sencha cloud. We have two licenses per team member (Ext and Sencha Test). NPM registry only sees Ext license, so we cannot access Sencha Test packages. - We cannot get the sts executable to work at all on Windows 11. Funny exceptions. - At times there seems to be no way to do something that should be easy. Hard to describe precisely. A solution is always eventually found but not always elegant and sometimes only after painful trial and error. For example enabling/disabling UI actions based on form validation formulas. - Need more maturity on date/time handling. Ext.Date type does not properly support Olson time zones, and serialization for backend integration is a constant headache.

### "It's a decent product"

September 11, 2025

It was fine, I enjoyed coding with it at times due to the increase of productivity from reusable features and common structure. other times I wanted to pull my hair out working with it

Pros

Being able to easily create components that can be reusable is a really nice feature to be using in the build and development, code management is a okay, deployment is also fine, the value for the money I would not be able to answer,

Cons

its near impossible to track down some of the bugs, customer support I'm not so sure, it is really hard to use the docs suck.

### "ExtJS is the framework for building enterprise-grade applications."

May 1, 2025

5.0

I’ve been working with ExtJS for over 10 years and have developed a wide variety of applications during that time. In my experience, the final product consistently outperforms those built with other frameworks. Most importantly, clients are always impressed—and often amazed—by the end result.

Pros

ExtJS is the framework for building enterprise-grade applications. It provides everything you need to develop efficient and robust applications. It comes with a comprehensive set of UI widgets to cover virtually any interface requirement. Its data package acts as a powerful engine that simplifies and streamlines the consumption of web services. The MVVM architecture makes it easier to develop and maintain large-scale applications. Backed by Sencha, a dedicated company, ExtJS ensures secure code and reliable support when you need it.

Cons

The learning curve for ExtJS can be steep, but everything is structured around well-defined patterns. Once you understand these patterns, development becomes much more intuitive

### "Sencha is a practical easy to use tool in development"

August 26, 2025

4.0

A useful tool. The library provides very practical functionality, and the Architect tool provides an easy to use graphical interface.

Pros

Using the Architect tool ExtJS allows you to set up useful and otherwise complicated pages very quickly.

Cons

Upgrading projects from older code versions can sometimes be quite demanding, require manual intervention, and in a few cases the page have to be rebuilt.

### "It's a good product, but there are still many issues to fix."

August 26, 2025

3.0

I'm using Sencha ExtJS in my company to develop an access control web management platform. I use many of its features, including themer, charts, grids, and more.

Pros

It's easy to understand and work with. The documentation is well done, and there are lots of examples available on the web that you can use.

Cons

So far, I have found many issues and opened tickets, but only a very small number of them have been resolved, even though more than 5 years have passed.

### "A great platform for web development"

January 24, 2018

4.0

Pros

Sencha offers a huge amount of tools and controls for web development, from layout to input components, and a great set of methods to interact with it

Cons

The platform is great, the only downside I can think of is that you might frequently find yourself in tweaking the components quite often to make them be like you want. Sencha could offer some more "templates" so that you can choose an existing template rather than customizing each component.

### "Excelente, pero se puede mejorar"

August 25, 2025

5.0

### "Powerful but Rigid: A Robust Framework Best Suited for Enterprise-Grade Applications"

May 1, 2025

5.0

Working with Sencha Ext JS offers a mixed but often productive experience, especially in enterprise environments. The framework excels at delivering rich, complex UIs out of the box, thanks to its comprehensive component library and built-in architecture (like MVVM). It’s particularly strong for data-heavy applications, such as internal dashboards or management tools.

Pros

It had rich set of pre-built UI components (grids, charts, forms, trees, etc.) that are highly customizable and well-integrated.

Cons

not free for commercial use—its pricing model can be expensive :(

### "Sencha Ext JS good option for feature rich development"

May 6, 2025

5.0

Very good experience so far, like the features, especially UI ones, and speed that it handles results.

Pros

Flexibility and the thing it is platform independent, particularly for those that need rich, comprehensive set of UI components, robust data handling, and enterprise-ready features

Cons

Little steeper learning curve then I would like to. Also there are options that are freeware to write the code, maybe have to sacrifice some features, but same can be achieved with free product

### "Sencha : The platform that changed our software service business model ..."

April 16, 2020

5.0

Until we switch to Sencha, we could not meet out delivery dates, our development efforts were more and many times redundant. After switching to Sencha, its been more that 10 plus years we have been using it, our software service business has made our clients happy with bug free , on-time deliveries with a classical look to the software delivered.

Pros

We as a business have been using Sencha from its version Ext v.2 ! Now we are at 7 ! That speaks for itself ! Sencha has been a very solid platform for our software service business. It was after we switched to this platform that we started delivering software with these below attributes : - OnTime - Bug Free - Any browser compatible - Shorter Development Span - Solid underlying architecture - Quick Support and assistance and lot more tangible and intangible benefits that the list goes on... Many try to compare jquery/ angular etc with Sencha. To be frank, you cannot compare it!, as they are widely different on what each offers ! Unlike other frameworks available, sencha does not need any support software to get your application up and running. The components available on Sencha are rich and varied. With the latest v7, the universal app concept makes it so easy to develop applications for any device with ease. With a single development cycle effort, we can have applications for iOS, Android, Windows and the web at one shot at the end. Very little extra effort needed. Kitchen sink helps in understanding the power w.r.t the controls that could be used and which exists. Its really wide and powerful. Sencha Charts / Data Grids and Mobile App UI has been very vastly used by us and we are really happy with it. Sencha Cons aka conferences are held widely and we attend them without fail. Its very informative and knowledgeable.

Cons

To start off, the learning curve could be a little more than usual for the team. If we provide the right handholding, learning can be faster. Only very few native features are difficult to implement with Sencha (example Sensor applications etc) Getting grip on the right architecture for each application is very crucial, and this does not come easy here be it with the tutorials nor with the kitchen sink examples. Fee could be costly, but definitely worth for your business ! The API documentation can be a pain to understand initially. Again, practice makes perfect ! Once you understand how to hunt for keywords and figure out usage, its a breeze later onwards. Kitchen sink though covers all the powers of sencha, does not really focus on the implementation part well. The support forums are helpful, outside of it, finding help from other sources could be a major block as you might not find the info you are looking for.

Reason for choosing Sencha Ext JS

Lesser Development Curve Solid Cross browser compatibility One Universal App Developed to Multiple Mobile Apps

Pros

It has lots of components in its library which can be used Directly making programming easy. It also handles platform compatibility. So developers focus on business logic.

Cons

Sencha uses EXT js which is not much user friendly as compared to ANGULAR js. Ext js is bit expensive and there are comparatively more struggle in making your application cross browser compatible.

### "A nice web development framework"

March 13, 2018

4.0

Pros

Sencha offers a wide range of elements and controls for your web applications. It provides tools that goes from the app design to coding.

Cons

When it comes to coding (the primary reason I use Sencha tools for), I often find it difficult to control how HTML tags and CSS code is generated. I find too many container divs and it's not always easy to control IDs and classes for each element, making it slower to create a page.
