It is easy to manage, and fairly intuitive. Pros Easy to use, recoveries are fast, recovery options are flexible, and it has great security and ransomware protection features. Cons Our local sales team left about two years ago, and since then, our relationship with Rubrik has basically gone away. We were able to be much more engaged with the solution when we had a local team that we were constantly in contact with. Review Source Burhan A. March 22, 2018 3.0 We haven't progressed far enough with the product to see value to our overall business objectives. Pros Rubrik is used to protect 1,000+ objects in my environment with 90%+ being VMware virtual machines. It is being used across the whole organization, globally, with three clusters existing to support our global initiatives. It provides backup protection for my objects and also provides a way to migrate certain data profiles into the cloud. Searchable Content - search for file across datasets allows for quick restores. Cons I am patiently awaiting the release of 4.1 which should bring massive improvements to the functionality of the system as well as add additional features missing from the product. I feel Rubrik is well suited for customers that want to run high amount of snapshots per day and wish for a lower RPO granularity for restore. It is less appropriate for perhaps customers that want to run all their backups in one evening because of how jobs are queued and spread across the backup window. Missing functionality - allow for more granular intervals across different time segments. " July 16, 2024 5.0 Rubrik is the product I recommend to any business looking for backing up environments, especially virtual ones and databases. Have been using them for 6 years and have never regretted choosing them. The proof was when we survived a cyber attack thanks in large part to their recoverability and support during the experience. Pros The web management portal is fast, api-based from the start, and top notch customer service and account teams. They have recovered all systems for me in the past and work quickly to resolve any issues. Non-stop updates for the product to add features and fix bugs. Cons The reporting and filtering continues to need improvement though they have been adding features along the way. The AWS-hosted clusters are not as stable as the hosted hardware clusters but never any data loss in either case. It needs proper Postgresql support and better backwards compatability for legacy systems and the development is far too cloud focused for me. I want local access to the system and to be able to manage in the datacenter. Pros The simplicity and how things just work. Rubrik support is also excellent unless you need support with Envoys. It has taken the job of data backup and recovery and enhanced it to secure the data with the many features that Rubrik continue to add with data security features with updates. Having the single gui to manage multiple sites make managing the backup and dat recoveries painless. Pros It is very easy to setup backups and easy for anyone on the IT team to do backups Cons Nothing I can think of at the moment. Rubrik keeps adding features that are great. When needed help with support, they are quick to respond. They help with the upgrade process as needed and are always friendly. Pros Easy to setup and maintain. Able to push to AWS easily as needed. Havent had to use it yet, but the option to run server off the brick if something happens and you need to fix it. Cons Little pricey but its worth it. The tunnel closure timeline is too short sometimes it feels like. Pros Some pros of Rubrik are that is automatically balances a schedule. Also the feature to instantly live mounts of virtual machines is very convenient. Cons Lack of native AD/Sharepoint/Exchange tools which would be a nice addition. Also there is no batch recovery without using API calls. I can just create SLA's and apply them to VM's/servers. Then I can sit back and let it backup. When we have run into issues support has been very easy to work with. Since they are still a new/growing company they take customer feedback seriously and look to implement it where they can. Cons Some features do not work as shown, but support has been great to help resolve these issues. We were sold on some features that currently do not exist but will be coming in a future update. April 3, 2018 5.0 Pros More than any other backup platform, the jobs simply run and succeed without any other assistance needed. It is set and forget, replacing a solution that required daily work to verify/validate/fix issues from the backups. Instant restore is not instant, but sub 1 minute, which is very fast to recover. Cons As it started working from most used to least used features, some edge case backups are not supported. No SQL filestream for transaction log backups, no support for smaller database vendors native products. I definitely recommend Rubrik if you have servers with information that needs to be retained. Pros Finding backups across multiple servers and drives was a painless task with Rubrik. Navigating to the file or folder you needed to recover was easy and the recovery process was short. Cons Depending on the size of the file being recovered, it would take quite a bit of time to restore the file and then you would have to wait on it to be downloaded. Review Source Kevin M. It was a one stop shopping for all Cloud and Security needs. Pros Cloud Data and Backup Management, security and data dashboarding. Cons there was not much I did not like about this software. " February 12, 2018 5.0 Pros Frankly, Rubrik is an amazing product. It works seamlessly, has several advanced features, and is extremely simple to use. It just...works after you set it up. Their marketing is also pretty awesome, with several themed boxes of goodies you'll actually want to keep and use. Cons Rubrik is pretty expensive as far as backup solutions go. A lot of organizations will have a hard time justifying the cost, but given the ease of use in recovering from a backup, it can save a lot of headaches and even some downtime. Do some ROI analysis against your cost of downtime to compare. I think it's worth it for a fair amount of SME's doing business today. It doesn't matter if anyone creates a new VM as this can be targeted automatically via the policies to ensure its backed up and your RPO's and RTO's are met. I think it took me longer to rack the device than it did to configure it and take my first backup Cons Just needs more SSO and 2FA but to be fair they are ahead of many vendors, just worth checking with an SE if yours is supported Review Source RK Ryan K. The search on the web interface is also one of the best I have used and works really well. Cons Cost but its still worth it with the features it offers.
