### "Terrible customer service - no bulk export option - stuck for ever"

May 10, 2024

3.0

Very poor experience, terrible customer service. no way to bulk export your videos so your stuck with them forever. They try and upsell everyone by suspended your account if you get close to the storage limits. I would stay far away.

Pros

Decent platform for hosting videos and providing feedback

Cons

\- customer service is terrible - if you go over your storage limits (even by accident) they suspend your account and you can't access anything and all your link break - no way to bulk export your videos

### "A market leader in video reviewing"

September 24, 2022

4.0

Frame.io is exactly what we needed for a review system. It is easy to get to grips with, easy to share, and easy to collate feedback with.

Pros

Frame.io is a super convenient browser-based solution for our video review needs. With a simple emailed link we can request feedback from all relevant stakeholders on multiple files. The timecoding of notes and switching between iterations are essential to the process and are very easily done in the software. The option to also review images also keeps the feedback process for different file types within the one location.

Cons

There is very little to dislike about Frame, other than the occasional desire for more advanced annotation features, such as tracking items or leaving notes over multiple frames. These are almost alway desirable rather than essential though, and certainly done leave the feedback unclear or incomplete.

### "Share your video projects with projects related to Premiere Pro or After Effects."

May 13, 2022

5.0

I've been using the frame for a year and a half, and it has led to more efficiency, love and more collaboration at work.

Pros

Personally, I use Frame.io to share videos with anyone who needs to watch them and give feedback for projects in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, and it's a great resource for the video production team, where members can upload videos to the Frame.io website. It is also important to know that you can easily access media, add collaborators, participate in a review, upload your timeline for participation, participate in presentation mode, and import annotations directly into your project. You can choose the text color for the video titles, the background color and even the thumbnail you want to appear on the screen. Frame.io builds efficiency and love for work, and communicates faster in terms of videos.

Cons

My only negative point is that I can't say how much time people spent watching the video. If this feature is added, Frame.io will be amazing.

### "A MUST for any production house!"

July 3, 2019

If you make video deliverables, you HAVE to try frame.io. It eliminates the endless chains of emails, uploads to YouTube/Vimeo and wastes everyone's time less. I've been dreaming of a platform like this for YEARS and it's finally here. If you have video deliverables, this is a must-have. It's worth every penny in allowing comments, approvals, the actual final clips, members of your and their team, etc to all live in one place. I would never go back to the old way of getting video to clients ever again.

Pros

Frame.io makes it so easy to share video assets with clients, departments or whoever you work with. There are just enough features to make it useful, but no so many that people not familiar with video get overwhelmed. It has easy to use video commenting, approvals, viewing and distribution. The Premiere Pro plugin is a game changer. It lets you see the comments, on the timeline, in REAL time as you're scrubbing though the video. I love how you can upload multiple versions of a video (like v1, then v2, v3) and easily see the changes made between the versions. When someone makes a request within a comment for something to be changed, the Premiere Pro plugin lets you put a checkbox on that comment to let the commenter know you saw/made the change. Upload speeds are fast and videos are ready in full quality FASTER (take less time to process) than when uploading to YouTube. You can upload directly from Premiere Pro/Media Encoder... so you can literally finish the edit and just walk away. Your video will encode, upload to frame.io, and send out emails to let everyone know there is a video to watch or approve. The automated email messages to let the client/people involved know that a video has been uploaded, viewed, commented on, etc are also very useful. The interface is pretty. It's a great value too; you get a lot of features for the money.

Cons

I can't really think of anything negative. I did have a few issues uploading, but this was when the platform was still relatively new and the

### "Brilliant piece of software."

5.0

After 4 months in I can finally review it and say and its been an absolute godsend for the feedback process. One of the main issues we were having was collating feedback from multiple clients at once within very tight deadlines and its done a superb job. I thought I would only use this during Post-Production, but has helped at every stage of the process. Here are some notes from my time using it over the past couple of months in a live environment: 1) Just because you have it and love it, doesn't mean your clients have the technical capability to use it (No IE compatibility for instance). I usually write a covering email on directions to use it and does not natively play at the highest resolution unless selected. 2) The Mobile App is probably my favourite feature, and use this on a daily basis when out and about. I make mostly social videos that need sizing for Instagram and Facebook, and being able to upload and view the same file with comments and view it on my phone full screen has saved SO much time, as before that was done using Dropbox/Google drive. 3) The integration within Premier Pro has drastically changed how we operate as a team, in managing changes from the client and delegating certain tasks. Being able to mark the changes as complete keeps everyone in the loop nicely. 4) Allowing the client to download source file on a completed video is a nice little feature that we use often.

Pros

Mobile App and Premier Pro Integration have drastically changed my workflow and can feel the productivity gains on a daily basis.

Cons

It doesn't automatically play at the highest resolution, and does not give you any metrics as to how long people have watched the video internally but im nit-picking!

### "Frame.io is the reining champ for video reviews"

November 8, 2022

5.0

Video review software for a long time looked like this: upload your video to Dropbox or Youtube, send the link, and pray the client writes down timecode with their notes. Eventually other options came on the market but they either didn't look great or were priced too high for the average editor. Frame changed that. It looks amazing, works every time, has generous pricing and storage, and makes it super easy for clients (even though who have no experience with video) to leave detailed feedback.

Pros

The design of Frame.io is easy to navigate, both for the person who uses it every day and the client who has never seen it before. It uploads quickly, integrates with multiple editing softwares, and is priced well for generous storage (currently 250GB). Adding team members is simple. Most importantly it is straightforward for clients to use.

Cons

The only con I can think of is a super nit-picky detail (which should tell you something): when you share a review link to several videos, it doesn't default to alphabetical ordering. So you have to view the videos in Custom and manually arrange them to in the order you want.

### "Affordable collaboration platform"

August 8, 2020

5.0

Overall it has been great. It's better to get reviews through frame than in person, honestly. Can't recommend it enoguh.

Pros

I love the ease of use, how streamlined it is and how it helps organize the assets. I love reviewing/getting reviews here as you can timestamp, or draw over the images. The version stacking options are great as well!

Cons

The amount of team-members per project is limited. The notification settings are a bit of a bother, you can set them up but I always end up missing important notifications. It would be good to be able to set them up by area or sub team.

### "Level Up from Vimeo"

March 11, 2021

Frame is an industry leader in the video production space, especially with their forthcoming integrations with Sound Devices and other on set hardware manufacturers to make a seamless transition from set to post production. While there can be quirks to the software, we believe in the trajectory of the company and the fact that they continue to develop features.

Pros

Frame has quickly become the standard for sharing internal review links within our organization, making it simple for creatives to get feedback from producers and stakeholders, and then go back and continue working. We love the integration directly with Adobe Premiere, and this has centralized a mess of Vimeo, Dropbox, Webdam, and YouTube links into one single place for gathering feedback.

Cons

One feature that I wish Frame offered would be the ability to embed videos into webpages. This wouldn't always be for live pages on our site, but as we build video content alongside our web designers building pages, I'd like to be able to embed the current version of a video just as a demo. We also have had on-and-off issues with comments not being carried through.

### "One of our go-to video sharing softwares, but surprisingly difficult to navigate"

February 1, 2019

3.0

There's a lot of promise here, but I really need a tutorial.

Pros

The single best feature of Frame.io is the ability for reviewers to leave time-coded notes on the project, simply by commenting at the moment they are trying to note. This feature saves us so much time in post, as people typically are off on their time codes when giving in notes. It has all of the features I'd want in a video-sharing site, like password protection. And I like that you can create essentially custom pages for projects to live (as opposed to old school Vimeo).

Cons

Honestly, I found this software to be confusing. There are a lot of bells and whistles to pull and prod, but without someone physically teaching me the software, I couldn't figure it out. My company doesn't have precious time to waste on boarding people onto new software, so I found using Frame.io to be more trouble than it was worth. It was almost like trying to learn Premiere on my own -- there are so many things I could do with the software, but I physically could not figure out how to use it on my own.

### "Best in the Biz"

January 21, 2019

5.0

This is probably my favorite new software implimented in my company. If you work in video, this is absolitely the program you need. No more printing off edits and no more confusion on what they are looking for.

Pros

I love having the ability to either send a client a presentation link or a review link. If I need their feedback, they can leave their comments directly on the time code so that there is ZERO confusion. The ability to draw and write on the frame makes things even easier to clarify. Also major bonus is being able to have Frame.io IN my premiere project, so there's no bouncing back and forth.

Cons

I wish there was more storage? But I'm sure you can pay for more.

### "Streamling video approvals"

It's streamlined internal reviews and feedback really well and allows management to keep an eye on project with varying degrees of involvement.

Pros

This software helps take out the guesswork of remote approvals with very accurate and visually appealing review software. It also helps you keep track of multiple versions which often can get confusing

Cons

It takes a little bit of figuring out and sometimes clients who can be put off by it because it can look a little overwhelming.

Amazing. I use this everyday for client approval work for videos. When I've needed support, it's fast and friendly. The features keep getting better and better. The UI is a dream to use.

Pros

The UI and functionality are amazing. It has some kind of magic upload engine that allows for really fats uploading of video.

Cons

I wish I was able to integrate my archiving solution easier. But really that's my failing as there is a full featured API available.

### "Awesome review platform"

August 15, 2019

Using frame.io has been incredibly helpful for our workflow. Quick feedback from clients allows us to turn projects around quickly and collaborate effectively from afar.

Pros

Quick feedback is super helpful. For a client to jump into a video and put notes directly on the point in the project where the feedback is needed; that's invaluable.

Cons

The hardest part (it's a blessing and a curse) is that everyone can see the feedback, so separating internal/external feedback is important.

### "Frame, quite literally, reinvented my post-production workflow"

October 10, 2017

5.0

Speed and flexibility to review edited video content from practically anywhere with a internet connection. Frame is remarkably suited to push video collaboration in brand new ways.

Pros

Frame provides unrivaled post-production collaboration for video professionals. The ability to make real-time notes on editor's work is game-changing, and the client accessibility is top notch. I cannot fully express how valuable Frame is to our client review process. And the speed of the web-interface is basically magic. We can hardly achieve similar scrub speeds on our workstations. The ludicrous speed, massively flexible feature set, and sheer value-addedness (I know this is not a word, but seriously, just use this software and see how it changes your workflow) make Frame a foundational part of our business.

### "Tool is great but Android compatibility is a joke"

March 31, 2021

It gets the job done. Quick and easy once you learn the ropes.

Pros

It's really helpful for reviewing with clients and other editors. Being able to visually see where edit points should come in and out is excellent.

Cons

The support for Android is laughable. This is something that has been requested for years and just falls on deaf ears. They have a stand-alone app for iPhone/iPad. But nothing for Android. Very disappointing.

### "A web app for collaboration in video creation process that will save you a lots of time"

July 3, 2018

5.0

Pros

The best thing they have is the integration with Adobe Premiere, which makes it easy to show the videos in progress to my teammates and clients without having to waste time exporting and uploading to other platforms. I can receive the feedback directly and keep working. Not to mention how easy it is to integrate with the folders on our mac to make the workflow even easier.

Cons

Relmente is a great application, very robust and safe, that will surely fulfill all the needs and expectations that you have. In our case we do not continue using it for the prices and the price structure. Being a relatively small company we can not maintain the cost of the investment, even when the results are fantastic.

### "Great for reviewing videos"

July 7, 2020

4.0

It's been good for reviews and feedback from clients and vendors. I'd recommend to many post production companies.

Pros

I like the comments and reviews being saved by timecode. This works great for when reviewing videos for a video production company I work with. I like coming back to the notes and responding in real time.

Cons

I don't have any large complaints. I like it for reviews and uploading for client and internal review. I wouldn't have any big changes or notes for the software.

### "Great place to upload videos for team member comments"

January 12, 2019

5.0

Pros

The interface is so clean. There is a lot to love about this product, but my favorite has to be the ease of use. I can upload a video, which takes only minutes compared to a lot longer on other platforms, and my team members can comment on the video. They can even tag a specific frame with their comment, and I can play the frame right from the comment. I love that I can view 2 versions of a video at the same time, so I can see what changes were made.

Cons

Not a whole lot I don’t like, the team sends way too many emails so watch out when signing up for the email newsletters.

### "Very efficient and useful communication tool"

January 24, 2019

5.0

This has been a fantastic tool and has worked well to streamline our review process. We’ve drastically reduced the number of in-person reviews in favor of sending Frame IO links that clients can check and comment on attheir convenience.

Pros

It makes it super easy to send previews of animations and videos to clients. They can make timecode specific comments right in the tool. I can upload updated versions and maintain organization very easily. It’s very convenient and easy to use from both the production side and the client side of things.

Cons

It can have problems when uploading large numbers of files at once. Email notifications can get out of hand when there are multiple people making comments.

### "Makes Team Video Collaboration Easy"

February 26, 2019

5.0

Video collaboration before frame.io was a much bigger job requiring unnecessary meetings and more to get a video approved. Now, the whole process is digital. It's about time—and by that I mean, you will save time using this. Do yourself a favor and take the plunge. You won't regret it, and your team will thank you for simplifying their lives and work.

Pros

Our company does so much video work, and it's essential we have the ability to collaborate. Frame.io made this process easy and gave us records of people's feedback and approvals on videos. This gave us much needed structure and a written feedback loop on video projects. If you are in the media world, you need this.

Cons

Not much I didn't like about frame.io. Super easy to use. A few of the buttons could be more obvious once inside the site as when you scroll over them, they don't appear clickable, but actually are when you double click. Other than that, stellar experience so far.

### "Mixed feelings"

March 22, 2022

5.0

Pros

I loved working with Frame.io when I worked for a production company. It was a great way to get the videos I edited to other team members or clients for notes. When I started my own editing company it didnt have all the features I wanted... ultimately I was able to find another company that had everything Frame.io had, plus all the features I was seeking, and all for a lower cost than frame.io.

Cons

Overall, I would recommend frame.io for those just needing notes on their videos. But if you need more, I would look elsewhere.

### "I love using this product and it makes me enjoy video projects so much more"

August 5, 2021

5.0

I have always had a love/hate relationship with video editting projects but the software takes away some of the clunkiness of sending files, version control, etc so I don't mind doing these projects as much.

Pros

The version control feature is so clear and easy to use. The scrubbing/fast forward features are great. I love that it incorporates 1x, 1.5x, 2x, etc so we don't have to review full videos all the time. I also love the email notifications for comments.

Cons

I don't have any issues with the product. I'm sure there are many more features that I look forward to learning.
