Moreover we can develop custom plugins very easily and in short time. I really like how they reduced the learning curve for users. Pros Signalfx comes with out-of-the-box standard dashboard groups for most of the stacks like Kubernetes, Nginx, EC2, etc. It saves lot of time. Whenever a new cluster is provisioned I just need to open the in-built dashboard group and select the cluster and the share the link to customer. It saves lot of time and effort. Also it has lot of APIs to automate the dashboarding and alerting capabilities, which is well suited for custom dashboards. Cons While setting up new smart agents, Due to some internal performance bottlenecks I have noticed metrics not rendered in dashboard but ingested. If the load is high atleast the data sent in agent could be re evaluated to give clear picture to users. Pros very simple to setup and configure. We have a medium sized kubernetes cluster and needed analytics for our entire stack. SignalFx is completely SaaS based solution with various ways to connect and forward metrics. We used the SignalFx daemonset to pipe all of our metrics. Once the data is there, that's where the fun begins. There are numerous canned dashboards and reports based on best practices. These are already useful and just require some slight customization for our needs. Pricing is per node, not per amount of data which worked for us. Cons Purely for SaaS environment, if you have infrastructure and applications that are air gapped, this is not a fit. There is no on-premise solution. Pros Simplicity in creating dashboards using this software to aggregate all the metrics and build dimensions, configure alerts based on several criteria, integration with AWS, PagerDuty and providers is very useful. Cons Some of the alerts are not accurate, but I believe there needs be some kind of intelligence gathering to be done to understand the behavior of a certain type of server of service.
