Systems Engineering Manager Telecommunications Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Dayviewer for my New Job as an Engineering Manager" December 24, 2021 4.0 As a manager for my new company, I needed a very flexible planner which allows me to reserve time for my tasks. I tried using other calendars, but Dayviewer gave me what I needed. It had a way of creating checklists within tasks, thus having that natural feel of using a paper planner by hand but through an application. Dayviewer has since helped me become more organized. Pros The checklist and lists in tasks allows me to breakdown tasks within what I call my "protected time". Through the checklists within tasks, I can "sprint" my activities more effectively, thus I am more productive. Cons Dragging tasks or activities on a month view does not seem to work. Also, an offline Application will really be helpful rather than a bookmark. Review Source Response from DayViewer December 24, 2021 Thank you for the feedback. As a former \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\]Planner instructor this is the closest I have found electronically. Improvements are needed but when these are done I believe it will be THE BEST platform Pros I love that everything is in one platform. Notes journal calendar tasks Cons Some things are a pain. We are certainly looking into ways in which we can move calendar entries between the personal and team calendars, we hope to provide an update soon on this. Also, we have been looking at ways into making the recurring entries a smoother process. And have made a modification recently to partially address this (eg. you can now recur for example: recur weekly - every "n" weeks), also we believe we are the only system that allows you to preview the recurring entries before they are submitted. Pros I like the view options for this program. I can easily see my day or my week. It allows me to add multiple appointments at once. Cons I did not like how limited the free option is. August 18, 2021 5.0 Overall the product functions smoothly and is very helpful to our business. If there is a feature you need or isn't working they are very responsive to your needs. Pros There are many features I like about this product like being able to color code our work flow and the automatic messages it sends to our drivers when they have a job assigned to them. It also has a feature that allows the driver to pull up the map and directions to the location where they have to deliver. But I must say the most impressive feature is the response from the customer service team. They have responded immediately every time and actually fixed our issues sometimes within an hour. Cons Recurring calendar entries are the one feature that is a little more cumbersome then the last product we used. But when I asked them about it they did make some changes to it to make it a little easier. The training/Guide could be a little more comprehensive. Some explanations tell you what the feature is but not really how to find it. Reason for choosing DayViewer Customer Service is outstanding and the features fit our business needs. We now have more calendar settings available, and also a way to expand the calendar. There are 5 main views, monthly, weekly, work-week, daily and agenda. There is also an alternative drag and drop type weekly calendar (we call it Fast Planner), which would be ideal for resource planning and scheduling. VH Valerie H.
