Pros: How can I possibly choose just one thing? Before My Music Staff, keeping track of missed lessons was next to impossible. I had separate notebooks and online files and word docs for attendance, lesson notes, expenses, payments for books and payments for lessons - now it's all together - neat and tidy, organised and at my fingertips (and my teachers') at the studio, at home and on the go! And that's just the beginning...

Cons: I do wish My Music Staff was setup to take Electronic Funds Transfers in Canada - as that is a new form of payment I am implementing in my school. I also would like to be able to add my business logo as a header for emails with an automatic signature. I realise I can use placeholders to do this job but it is a little laborious when you're in a rush.

Overall: My Music Staff has changed my home studio into a professional, online, organised, updated Music Academy! Not only has it totally managed my scheduling and scheduling for my teachers but it tracks expenses and income for tax purposes with official Tax Credit receipts that I can send from my phone! It made tax time a breeze!

This software let's me seamlessly invoice books and lessons, while keeping track of missed payments with auto-invoicing and also generating professional receipts with a thank you.

Parents and older students are able to cancel and reschedule lessons at their leisure (according to my policies) and re-book a time that is more convenient for them - resulting in almost no empty spots and more money in my pocket! They can also see their lesson notes and record their practice time to hold them accountable and for me to be able to peak at as well! This has resulted in more practice = better results= happier students = happier parents = referrals = home studio to Music Academy = (more $ !!!)

One of my favourite features of My Music Staff is being able to upload recordings of my students for the parents and families to enjoy. No more time consuming CD's that no one can play anymore anyway. Now, they just download and have it right on their phone or PC (see "happier students = happier parents...etc.)

Pros: I really like how this software program allows me to stay organized and gives me a very professional look with my clients. From invoices to curriculum to client information to the dreaded year end taxes, I am able to keep detailed information and have it right at my finger tips when needed. My personal studio has 40 students with 26 different families to account to and communicate with. I use My Music Staff to set up a structured personal invoice system for each family, keep track of all lessons (attended or unattended), list all curriculum items each student is working on plus all festival and competition participation and results, any loaned music books I've given each student, and keep detailed notes on how each student is progressing.

My Music Staff allows me to keep all my expenses (music books, office supplies, mileage, etc) in an organized, detailed system so April is no longer a huge headache for me! I also keep my waiting list of families looking to get into lessons so I no longer have the problem of the lost email or phone number when I get an opening in my studio.There are more possibilities with the program (website link, clients being able to link in) that I have not pursued yet but am looking forward to in the future. I have had a lot of comments from my clients about how impressed they are with how organized my studio is. I appreciate that this program allows me to come across as the professional I aim to be and hope to be perceived in my community.

Cons: I get frustrated with some of the backtracking I have to do to personalize the calendar and the invoices.

But, I don't see how that would be avoided as my studio is unique and each year is different. I do appreciate that I can personalize each student and each year.

Overall: My experience has been great! I can't attest to the customer service as I've never had to use it! But that says something, doesn't it?

Pros: It covers every single part of running a successful teaching practice. It takes care of my scheduling, it streamlines weekly practice assignments, it has a practice log for students, it lists repertoire completed and ongoing with performance dates, it keeps my accounting in order, it makes my income tax return easy, it gives out student tax receipts, it lists student names and addresses so families can contact each other if they need to exchange lessons, it handles lesson cancellation and make-up lesson registration without my having to be involved, it makes emailing notices a piece of cake, and......... I could go on and on. It even has features that I hadn't thought of to make my life as a piano teacher easier and also better organized. Unlike any other online service I've ever used, whenever there's a question or problem, the support staff answer and solve it within 2 or 3 days. They have even redesigned parts of the program when I've raised a problem. The staff at My Music Staff are dedicated to providing us with the best program possible, and review and update features on an ongoing basis. Without My Music Staff, I couldn't possible have taken on the high number of hours of teaching I now enjoy. Time spent on administration is now minimal, and I can spend my time doing what I really love - teaching!

Cons: Very small little things that I haven't even bothered to message in. One is that the assignment notes are linked to the name of the event, so when for example Lucy comes for an extra lesson, which is ID'd as an extra lesson, the practice notes will transfer from Lucy's last extra lesson, not from her last regular lesson. Similar thing happens when the student comes for a make up lesson - the notes that come up are from their last make up lesson, which might have been six months ago. I have to go in to the last regular lesson, copy, then back to the make up lesson and paste. Then do the same thing again to transfer the notes from the make up lesson to the NEXT regular lesson. The second thing that comes to mind is that students cannot enter their repertoire themselves, unless it's already on the studio list of repertoire. But I can see that it's probably been changed this way to rule out mistakes the student might make (spelling, opus number, length of piece etc.) I can't think of anything else. Oh yes - I don't really like having to go to Facebook if I have a question. I preferred getting an answer from the support staff, rather than multiple suggestions as to how I might.......... from other users.

Overall: As I wrote above, all the administration and accounting is taken care of, leaving me time to teach more students and more hours. I also appreciate the responsive staff, who have always taken care of any wrinkles in the system or any of the problems I might be having within a very short space of time.

Hey Susan! Thanks for the great review. Right now, you have "Find past lesson notes for events in the same Event Category only" enabled. Here's how to change that:

1. Click "Settings" in the top right-hand corner and select "My Preferences".
2. From the "Personal" tab, scroll to the very bottom.
3. Uncheck "Find past lesson notes for events in the same Event Category only".
4. Click "Save".

Now, the lesson notes will copy forward from their last lesson regardless of the event category :)

Pros: For years I kept track of scheduling on one sheet of paper from a weekly calender that I photo-copied and kept in a binder. Used a pencil so I could easily make changes. Attendance and income/expenses separate book. While it does take a little time to enter things manually, everything is streamlined and simpler than other software I have tried. I have looked at a few systems for teachers and this beats them all. I love that I can also send out group emails and save the templates for future use. Expenses and income can be set to repeat and this makes tax time a whole lot easier. Also keeps track of mileage if you travel to student homes--I also set that to repeat back when I was a traveling teacher. One year I was audited and the auditor was very impressed with the way I kept track of miles and everything else with this software. I gave her printed reports (with receipts). Once she saw I had a good tracking system and accounting software, she glanced at it and sent me on my way with a pat on the back for good record-keeping. That, alone, makes this software worth every penny. I also make use of the free webpage and the "New Student Request" button. I set up a separate email account just for MMS so I know when I see an email it is either a new student request OR from an existing student. I am a solo teacher and don't use all the features-just what I need. You can set this up to use as much or as little as you want.

Cons: Webpage templates are pretty limited. More options would be fabulous! Text operations seem to be somewhat limited and quirky within the software on my iPad Pro. I rarely use a computer these days so a little more functionality there would be terrific. Line spacing and text options seem to be very limited within the templates and I have been very frustrated with the limitations. I make it work, but more in this area would be better.

Overall: Love it, for the most part. Staff has always been very responsive with questions and issues.

Pros: I love how versatile this program is with policies.It has saved me a lot of time with emailing payment reminders, invoicing, and mass emailing. I love the student portal and calendar option. This summer we tried out a new policy that requires parents to use the calenda and it works great. My families love how easy it is to use and I love the hours it saves in rescheduling, emailing and phone calls.

Cons: When I am logging teachers availability into the calendar for the parents to see, it would be nice that lessons that are not scheduled would automatically show as "open". This way parents can reschedule into those spots for make up lessons and it doesn't take me so much time to manually put in open spots. With multiple teachers this can take a long time . I wish there was an option in the studio settings to allow to turn this feature on and off. So studios who do not want to use this calendar feature don't have to use it.

Overall: It has saved hours of rescheduling students for make up lessons. Lesson and payroll are seamless. Attendance is easy to log. I can control what my families see on the student portal and what my teachers see in their login. It has saved me hours with invoicing, mass emailing, and has saved me a lot of stress and time with payment reminders. Overall I like all the multiple features that are offered with this program and how easy it is for me to use. The staff are fantastic to work with. If I have any questions they are very patient and will walk me through i overall. The staff are fantastic to work with. If I have any questions they are very patient and respond in a timely fashion. If I have problems with anything (which is very rare), they are always happy to help. I have highly recommended this program to other schools, and my teachers who have had experience with other systems really seem to like My Music Stuff as well.

Pros: I have used My Music Staff for several years (four, I think). Implementing this software has revolutionized my work flow in big ways. I can manage multiple calendars, create invoices, and receive payments in simple steps. I have used two other studio management softwares and by far, I love the ease of My Music Staff the best. The developing team at My Music Staff has done a great job of making this software intuitive to the user experience and thinking through what the most important and valuable aspects for an independent teacher or a teaching studio with multiple teachers are. Every year, I have expanded the way I use the software as there are numerous features I could not implement right away. This past year, we have used the make-up credit feature to allow students to cancel their lessons to receive credit and use the credit to schedule make-up lessons when they see openings created by other cancellations. While my studio does not have a make-up policy on our official policy (no make-up lessons, period), allowing this to happen (without teacher putting effort towards it) has created added value to our offering and a more gracious atmosphere. I have contacted My Music Staff on many occasions with questions and their responses always have been super quick and competent (like they actually heard my question and answered them in the way that was helpful to me). I highly recommend it!

Cons: There are a few more advanced features I would love, such as allowing different policies for different kinds of events. But this is a very minor issue that I don't feel I'm entitle to for the money I pay to use this software.

Pros: For me, the best feature is the ease of scheduling lessons and ensembles. Summer is more complicated for me because family schedules are less regular. This program allows parents to check my schedule, find an open time that works for them and register for it - all with no e-mails back and forth with me! They can do this each week if they want and if something comes up and they need to reschedule, they can just do it without multiple emails. This is a huge time saver! I also really like the ease of entering payments at the lesson. I can handle this before the student leaves and put the check/cash in my wallet. Done! My old paper system seemed to take longer for me. Oh, and for scheduling ensembles, I can create an ensemble time and notify students in like 30 seconds! Then I just wait for them to register, or not. If not enough students register, I just cancel the ensemble and everyone is notified. This used to require a boatload of emails and texts. And one more thing, my summer used to be full of students forgetting to come to lessons because they don't come every Tuesday at 2pm. I was just not going to spend the time to send reminder emails to each student manually. Now, My Music Staff automatically sends a reminder email (or text) to the the student and/or parent the day before. So far, I have only had one student no show because they forgot. I don't have to feel guilty about charging for it, they were reminded.

Cons: I am getting used to the attendance pop-up. Most of my students are with me for a number of years and we always work on scales, etudes and technique pieces, and repertoire pieces. I have the books that I commonly use for scales, etudes and technique set up as Repertoire and then use the Notes to assign pages or specific pieces as well as for comments. This automatically copies to each lesson so this shows what I assigned and I can adjust it for the current lesson. I am not sure if this is developing a history or not for the student. I guess the biggest hurdle for me has been getting used to the process of recording the lesson while the student is there. Mostly, it is just adjusting from my custom paper lesson book to keying things on a screen. It would be extremely helpful to be able to see the end time of the lesson on this pop-up (currently just the start time shows) and also when I will see this student for their next lesson.

Overall: Huge time saver!

Pros: I like that I don't have to have my home website named something strange like "teacher's helper"--instead I can have my own domain name and a super easy to use website creator (and nice templates to choose from). The "portal" for parents is automatically added to the website. This way, I can use my own domain name in marketing materials.

I have been in business for 20 years and grew exhausted checking out different software packages, none of which were specifically for the music teaching business.

As for functionality, I like the bulk attendance.

Cons: Most of it is great. Would like to see continued addition of reports, or the ability to select more options for report content. More uploads--for example, when I put together my schedule for a new semester, it's time consuming to add each lesson in one by one. Being able to type everything in on a spreadsheet and upload it would be great. I find it confusing the way the lesson rates and duration and categories work together. Perhaps this could be simplified somehow--I have to remember which screens to go in to change the students time and category. It gets more confusing when you have siblings at different rates, or when you are discounting lessons for other reasons.

Overall: The tech support was great when I was trying to work with my service provider to get my own domain working with MyMusicStaff. When designing my own website with their template, they were also responsive and helpful with complex formatting on some of the pages.

Pros: I don't generate invoices until I have my schedule set. Once I have my schedule for the month/semester/etc figured out, I create invoices and send them to parents. I love that this program makes it easy to create and send invoices based on the schedule. What used to take me HOURS now takes minutes. I also like how it tracks payments, adjustments, etc in the program so that even parents can see. No more angry parents claiming they paid when they simply forgot; they can see everything. My studio size doubled because I am so much more organized with everything. I also love that students can see notes that I've taken, assignments, download music, etc. I also send out mass messages for my upcoming concerts which is posted on the group studio page. ALSO I love that it automatically sends reminder texts and emails. I rarely have students forget to come to their lessons anymore (and when they do, I just remind them of my cancellation policy, so I never lose any dollars). I love this program. Just amazing. I will never use anything else.

Cons: I wish there was an phone app that would allow me to work offline. I frequently work in practice rooms that block out cell phone signal, so I can't load students' notes when I teach. Also, It took forever to figure out how to navigate through the site at first. Lastly, I wish I could figure out how to automatically send my students their lesson schedule for the month (not essential since it is listed in the invoice, but I would like to have the kids get a list of lesson times in the email).

Overall: Customer support is very helpful!

Pros: The scheduling platform is fantastic. I used to send countless, lengthy, endlessly-threaded emails to schedule lessons for my large private voice studio. The MMS scheduling system has saved me so much time, reduced clutter in my email box, and put the responsibility of cancelling/re-scheduling lessons into the hand of my students. Any schedule adjustment made by a student prompts an immediate, automated notification to me, which keeps me informed without having to initiate and handle the scheduling issue myself.

As my studio has continued to grow, the billing / accounting aspect of the software has been very helpful as well. It helps me keep better records of payment, especially when methods of payment range from checks to cash to paypal and credit card.

Cons: There is a glitch in the system with website page editing that I hope MMS is able to fix. Although I love the ease with which I am able to build the website through MMS, I am frustrated by the ongoing issues with editing.

I also would love to see the Repertoire section open up to allow students to submit and organize their own repertoire on the MMS platform, rather than requiring the teacher to do it all.

Overall: Scheduling is so much smoother, and placed in the hands of the students. That is huge! It saves so much time, allowing me to focus more on non-administrative aspects of teaching.

The option to invoice students provides a professional (and far less awkward than "asking") means of reminding students when fees are due, how much, and for what services.

The system has also influenced how I handle logistics of planning for master classes, recitals, workshops, etc. I use the MMS calendar to require registration for such activities which streamlines the process, presents a firm deadline, facilitates pre-payment, etc. These aspects were cumbersome and less organized when I tried to balance them through trails of emails. Now, it's simplified, efficient, and effective.

Although I do still sometimes use email and social media platforms, MMS also provides a central location for announcements and important documents that can always be accessed by studio members.

Grateful for MMS and all it has to offer!

Pros: The ease of use to link with pupils.

With the ability to create lessons notes as you teach and email them for assistance with practice is a great benefit for both teacher and pupil.

The Lesson reminders.

the lesson reminder have a two fold benefit in that they reduce the number of no shows for lessons and ensure that pupils remember to let you know if they cannot attend to allow you the scope to offer other lessons to them and to fill their slot; it also gets a lot of correspondence to you in advance of the lesson so that you can have other material ready for the lesson in advance.

Invoicing.

This has proven to be a very reliable package for invoicing.

Student records.

A very easy way of keeping all notes up to date and to hand.

Library facility

I haven't had much call to use this yet but on the occasion that I have lent music out it is an invaluable way of keeping track of who has what.

Blog

This is an area that is looking to be exploited later in the year.

Cons: I have not really found any down sides to the software.

Overall: The main benefit that we have found has been increased reliability of pupil attendance and an enhanced way of keeping track of lessons that need to be caught up.

It has made invoicing easier for both us as a business and for the pupils to see what they owe at a glance.

Pros: Easy to use, works well with multiple users, gives the students and families online access to their account, provides an auto-pay option, manages billing easily, great customer service - so much more I could add.

Cons: Wish the online registration widget could be a bit more attractive for new student registrants.

Overall: MMS has been a life saver. We had actually contracted with another provider about a year before MMS. They promised a lot and had a good looking product/site, but the business management piece just wasn't working. We were never able to roll that out to our students or teachers and wasted a lot of time. MMS worked from day one. The import of student files was easy. Accounts were set up without any problems. As a nonprofit music school, we do things a little differently from a for profit business. We have been able to adapt the functionality of MMS to work with our system. The connection with PayPal was a tremendous benefit. We are now able to offer auto payment to our students. Scheduling is handled easily. We do not use MMS for payment of teachers, but MMS generates all the reports that we need to easily track lessons and pay our teachers quickly. MMS saves us about 4-5 hours per week in handling attendance vs. our previous methods. I can't say enough good things about it. We have 15 teachers using the software and they love it. This has made all of it easier. Scheduling, cancelling lessons, rescheduling lessons, attendance, communication--all of it is so much easier. Remote access from everywhere is great too. It works well from home, pc, tablet and iphone. This has transformed our music school and we are so pleased and look forward to implementing even more features as they become available

Pros: As I began taking on more students a couple of years ago and I started to struggle with scheduling and and billing, we started looking around and found My Music Staff, it saved my studio. We are now at 32 students and we have 3 instructors, without the ease of My Music Staff I would never be able to schedule and bill families appropriately or keep track of payroll. I love the ease of looking up addresses, families inputting their own information and being able to keep track of assignments within the program. The reminder emails and texts are awesome for busy families and the automatic billing feature is amazing so that I don't have to calculate and send out invoices to families.

Cons: Nothing really, some of the setting are buried a little bit, but everything is very logical.

Overall: My business runs very smoothly and professionally with the use of My Music Staff, I have the control that I need of the studio while giving my instructors the freedom to teach the way they find most effective with the students. Parents enjoy the reminders, automatic invoicing and electronic payment options. My website drives in lots of business and it is created using the templates on My Music Staff. Without this program my studio would never have grown to this point nor would it continue to grow as it is today. I will always recommend and share my love of this program.

Pros: I love the billing process with My Music Staff! Before using MMS, I spent hours creating and sending invoices and then I would have to chase down payments every month. Now it creates and sends the invoices automatically each month and parents pay me on time, because they receive reminders and it is so easy for them to push a button and pay online. I was so surprised in my first month with MMS when parents were sending me payments while I was out enjoying my time off with family - I completely forgot that invoices had gone out already, and I was able to sit back and let MMS do all the work.

Cons: The only improvements that could be made to MMS is in the website section. I love the design and look of MMS, and that is one of the reasons I chose to use it. It looks so much better and it is so much easier to use than some of their competitors like Music Teacher's Helper. I even love the designs of MMS's ads on facebook and instagram, and the designs of their new printables. While the design for MMS is the best I have seen, the website template designs are not good. The designs look outdated and the personalization features are no where near Wordpress, Squarespace, or other website design companies. This issue is not a big deal breaker for me, because so many of the other features on MMS are fantastic, however it is the only section of MMS that I don't use.

Overall: MMS has made running my own private studio a breeze. Everything I need for my studio is in one place, and the automation eliminates my need to spend hours at the computer or have a secretary. I can't imagine having to manage my studio any other way.

Pros: This app is very easy to use. You can sign up and then begin setting your studio up immediately. I teach out of my home and typically have 25-35 students each year. I was able to add all of my student and family accounts and set-up my schedule very quickly. The best thing about this package is what it has done for my invoicing process. It has cut down 75% of my work time for processing invoicing, payments, communication to families and reporting. As an added bonus, it has built in functionality for tracking practice time, gives a place to record studio news, lets you build and host a website, and stores online documents for use and retrieval by students. My studio families love having access through the portal so that they can always see their balance, make payments, and read notes about their student's progress. My older students use the student portal too.

Cons: One of my studio parents also does administrative work for me. She has two separate accounts, her admin account to do business and her personal account for her children's lessons. It would be nice if there was a way to compact that into one account for her.

Overall: My Music Staff is dependable, responsive and fair.

Switched from similar software and never looked back.

Pros: Very user friendly for both parents and employees (we are a multi teacher school)

Love how responsive the MMS team is, both with constant updates to the program (and often based on client requests) to attentive support when there are issues.

Price point can't compare to some of the alternatives. I love that it is based on the number of teachers, so doesn't penalize us for getting more students (ie. being a successful business!) like a per/student rate.

Cons: It has a lot of functionality with reports that is not so intuitive. Accessing the data in ways that may be useful to a business can often mean trying lots of different reports and tweaking the settings slightly to get the right report.

We accept payments in studio via Payd and have to enter these manually into MMS. Would love some way to connect these, or to be able to accept canadian debit cards (require chip readers).

Overall: The number of families now comfortable with My music staff for information and payment has increased exponentially saving us time and money. Our families are impressed by the professional software, and I love the transparency and organization we offer to clients and employees about how the business runs.

Pros: This product ticks all my boxes! It connects with PayPal, so I can accept credit cards online (and if person if I wanted to) and My Music Staff automatically adds the payment to the student's account. It saves me time because students are able to cancel and register for lessons through the website which means less email. Yay! Lending library, digital file locker, website builder, repertoire tracker,... aMAzing! And their customer support has been top notch when I needed help with a feature/setting and in quickly fixing bugs.

Cons: While it does pretty much everything I could want it to, some of the settings are in unexpected places. There are some calendar settings on the calendar page itself, some are in the main settings, some in preferences, etc. When I want to tweak a setting, I sometimes have to click through multiple pages to find the setting I'm looking for. I'm afraid this may be keeping some people from knowing about, finding, and enjoying many of the great features of My Music Staff.

Overall: Do it. My Music Staff provides me TREMENDOUS value. It is an excellent example of how technology can be used as a tool to enhance our lives.

Pros: What I like most about My Music Staff is the Lesson Notes function as it enables seamless continuity from lesson to lesson with each student, which, to me, is most the most important aspect of teaching.

Cons: As each feature in My Music Staff is likeable in its own way, the only reason why I like the Expense Tracker the least is because I use different accounting software and, therefore, have no need for it.

Overall: Part of my music teaching is done in a school that requires a rotating timetable so the students skip a different class each week for their music lesson. For years I tried communicating these times to students and parents in many ways, none of which seemed effective as there was a great deal of confusion and absenteeism.

I searched frequently for some kind of notification system such as the one my dentist uses, but they were all very prohibitively expensive. One day, toward the end of 2014, one my searches turned up My Music Staff, which could send automated email event reminders for a low monthly fee.

After using it for a while, I found unexpected features such as keeping track of attendance, make-up credits, lesson notes, providing downloads for students, an online student/parent portal, a sign-up widget, as well as integrated billing to be indispensable for the way I'm now able to run my studio.

MMS is a solid product which covers most of the bases

Pros: I especially like the attendance notes. It informs our students (parents) what is to be expected at the next lesson. This is especially good for parents who are not particularly musical, to remind the child specifics of the practice material.

I also like the auto reminder sent for next day classes. This gives the student an opportunity to cancel class in time to qualify for a make up class. And, if a class had been verbally cancelled, but the teacher did not log it as such, (s)he is reminded that the class has been cancelled.

Cons: I wish there was an entry to list the specific instrument being taught at each class. We can list the instrument in the student information section, but it'd be more convenient if it were right there on the calendar. Many instructors teach multiple disciplines and knowing which is being taught at a given class would make it easier for us to book the right room and/or the right substitute.

Overall: MMS has made scheduling quite efficient. It is fairly easy to navigate once you get used to it. We have been using it for a long time and I know there are features I haven't even gotten to yet. I don't think we've worked with the support team much as we've been able to figure things out. I would be very interested in taking a live class if it were offered just to appreciate the full potential of the software.

Pros: Scheduling and sending out invoices are never difficult and the organization of it all works fantastically.

Cons: I wish there were a few more options of things that I could do using the website builder, having few more customization options, but it certainly does work as a little better than just a plain placeholder website. Setting up the necessities for the website (showing studio address with a map, student/parent portal, interest forms, etc.) is very easy, but would like to see some more advanced options when it comes to the way text interacts with the page or how some pictures interact on a certain webpage.

Overall: My Music Staff helps make a running business simple with all the information set-up, default settings, and scheduling set-up. If it is only one person running all the administrative work while teaching, that normally can be a tall order to fulfill, but My Music Staff takes all the guess-work out of it. It's also very easy to manage other teachers if you have more than one person teaching in a studio. You can easily see how much they have worked, what students attend their lessons and which students do not on any given day and it makes it very simple to pay your employees with that information. Overall, I would strongly recommend this program to a brand new studio, but also wouldn't shy away from saying an established studio could get a lot out of using this program as well.

Pros: I can track what and where staff are meant to be at any one time quickly and see if they have any free slots for new customers. I can also trac customer payments and make sure every one is getting paid when they should be.

Cons: Not being able to have more than one teacher added to an event - I have to set up events for each teacher, then pick one who will charge the customer and then set the others to no charge for the customer. It would be great if it was possible to set multiple teachers in an event and that it would automatically show on their calendar. Also I can set different pay levels for different teachers even different groups but somehow if I pay a teacher £20 per hour and they have a 45 min lesson the system doesn't always calculate the new charge automatically - this could just be me not setting it up correctly.

Overall: Superb, It really has made life so much easier and efficient. The fact that students can log in and see their notes, make payments and feel more involved helps to build the community feel that we struggle to get with one to one lessons.

Pros: I was using an Excel spreadsheet before I transitioned to MMS. Of course, that was back when I had less than 100 students. Now with 300 students (and still growing), I would've been lost without this amazing product! I love the automatic invoicing, the ACH capability (this is KEY), the easy-peasy payroll and other reports, but all of these features are just a BONUS on top of the best scheduling system I've ever used. We would be poorly organized, and I'd be out a ton of $$$ hiring staff to take care of all of these facets that MMS offers in ONE platform. Kudos, My Music Staff!

Cons: It's been buggy from time to time, but we knew that it was a new product going in. Your staff has been awesome in responding to all service requests.

Overall: A-MA-ZING. My office manager and I love it. Because of MMS, we can effectively run the school, AND have a life outside of it. When I was using Excel I'd spend HOURS and HOURS in front of the computer, and now I have time to spend with my family because MMS automates many of the tasks I was doing by hand.

Pros: It's incredibly easy to use and automatically allows you to present your business as that of a professional who cares about what they do. Invoicing is easy and professional and parents find it easy to pay me which makes my life a lot easier! My students love it because they they can engage with me in ways they previously couldn't allowing me to be their tutor for more than just 30 minutes a week. Parents love it because they know what's happening, can contact me easily and feel part of the child's musical journey. Plus it's really affordable. I attract and retain more students because of My Music Staff so it pays for itself.

Cons: I would like to be able to change the colouring of the website after logging in to match my own 'corporate' colours but that's a small thing.

Pros: MMS has truly allowed me to grow and expand my teaching business with ease. The ability to send professional looking invoices via email to all of my students has been excellent and it has definitely reduce the amount of late payments or forgetfulness regarding payments. I love that I can take notes during my students' lessons and email them directly to students and parents or just keep notes for my own reference. I feel that the cost of this software is very low for what it provides so I am grateful for the great value for such a great product. I will continue to use my music staff without hesitation and recommend it to all of my colleagues

Cons: The only con that I can think of is that when you are viewing a student profile in my music staff, phone numbers and email addresses are not hyperlinked. This is a simaple feature that would be really wonderful to have

Overall: I had a studio of around 30 students before beginning to use this software. I don't think that I could have expanded my studio up to students without this tool to help me out. Pros: Very easy to use interface, friendly design, thought out options. I like how since joining I am noticing small changes to things and each change has been for the better! Very easy to design website function, and I like how specific you can be with everything!

Cons: I find my students don't enjoy logging their practice time. Perhaps a personalised widget page (when they sign in) would be more useful. Like, notes from previous lesson, blog posts, and things like that can be customizable?

Is there a space to put contracts in so I don't have to write seperate documents when new students sign up? That would be cool.

Overall: So much easier to organise my week. I wish there was an app that I could have on my phone as most schools don't have wifi for my laptop to connect, which means I either have to remember everything when I get home, or try to use the desktop site on my phone. It would awesome to have an app for teacher and student (like the desktop). Pretty much all kids have phones these days so I think they would explore the features more if that was possible. The app could have a built in metronome, fingering charts, or stuff like that. Maybe the teacher can have access to scales, and can assign scales to students, and the app can hear the student play them at home and let them know if the notes are right/wrong? Could be a bit tricky ay!

But overall, I really do love the app. Very reasonable price too.

Pros: Through My Music Staff, I have been able to manage a non-profit professional music organization that houses 10 choral ensembles, 8 group classes, full musical theater workshops, half a dozen teachers and hundreds of students of all ages in one seamless portal. The ease of media streaming, billing, and schedule management through the "Portal" has helped elevate our communication among our members.

Cons: While groups are quite useful and automatically updated in the media area, it would be useful for the groups to update in the calendar when a new member registers (or at least to have the ability to turn on that feature)

Overall: The team at My Music Staff are actively involved with the teacher community and LISTEN to their consumers. Updates are constantly being made and in real-time, reflecting the discussions and suggestions that come from their network of administrative users. Pros: My Music Staff saves me SO much time! Automated billing and late payment reminders means I receive an income on time (and saves me hours each month when I used to manually create invoices for every student, sometimes late!), plus the central storage of notes means I don't have to rely on students bringing their music diaries along, which more often than not were forgotten at home.

Cons: Some aspects of the billing are fiddly and took a lot of trial and error to work out, such as trying to invoice for lesson books separately to lessons and not have the invoice coming out as already being paid when it wasn't.

Overall: Overally, My Music Staff completely streams my music teaching, making it so much easier to look up attendance, lesson notes, what repertoire they are working on or have requested, who has borrowed books, and most importantly, the invoicing saves me hours of work and has resulted in me getting paid on time - less manually chasing up parents who haven't paid. More parents are paying attention to what I have asked the students to do at home, whereas they never consulted the music diaries I used to write their assignments in. I couldn't live without it!

Pros: I LOVE the ease and simplicity of My Music Staff. I love how customizable it is and that I can adjust it to meet all my needs as a teacher. I would be spending SO MUCH of my free time trying to keep track of it all if I didn't have My Music Staff. Pros: The best part of the program is organization it makes my time more reproductive in actually teaching rather than admin. the automatic reminder of lessons to students reduces the absent rate tremendously. Pros: I have tried many types of music studio management software; online, offline, big, little and in-between. My Music Staff is the best, hands down. The price is extremely reasonable, with no increases for larger studios. I can communicate with my students and parents easily, and put together invoices with just a few clicks. I find it intuitive, and their customer support is very helpful and responsive. I can access it on multiple devices, so my students' needs are taken care of no matter where I am. I recommend it to all music studios, large and small.

Cons: I wish there were more default choices, and I would like to see it a bit easier to create invoices for semester/yearly based tuition.

Overall: One of the biggest draws for me was the price. I get a *lot* of functionality for a price that doesn't break the bank. As a (very!) small business trying to keep afloat, this means a lot.

Pros: Mymusicstaff has saved our life. After the third year of running our music school, when things started getting hectic with over 100 students, we were drowning in excel sheets and word documents, PDF invoices and sheets of paper. We looked around for admin softwares until we came across Mymusicstaff. It is not cheap, but worth every penny. It makes running our school so professional and easy, and no admin errors occur as everything is done on the same platform, from timetabling, room allocation to invoicing and tutor reports etc. Communication and payroll are two additional features which are amazing. Tutors take attendance, which determines their payroll, and they can easily send messages to us and the parents / students which we can review and access. Absolutely wonderful system, we are so glad we found it!

Cons: The only thing is that the price per month is steep if you have multiple tutors. It's not a flat rate or per pupil but instead per tutor. This means that some tutors, who only have one or two pupils, cost us quite a lot.

Overall: Admin, payroll, professional appearance - overall the absolute best headache-relieve I could possibly have imagined!

Pros: I like the look and feel of it - it is modern and sleek unlike other software I have tried. It is easy to use and customize. The features are great and it saves on time and money.

My customers can cancel and reschedule their own lessons which is a lifesaver. I can keep on top of invoicing, receipts and expenses. I can keep a record of book lending and can share files easily with customers as individuals or in groups. At the moment I am expanding my business and I would not even be able to consider this without My Music Staff.

Cons: It doesn't have an android app - which I think customers would use more as it would be quicker than on the web, plus push notifications would be really useful for being reliable and on time for me and for my customers. I hope they consider implementing it, although I do find the mobile site incredibly good.

Overall: Invoicing, billing, emailing, scheduling and accounting can take up a lot of time and My Music Staff saves time and prevents costly mistakes. I don't think I could be without it!

Pros: MMS's customer service is second to none. I have never seen a company put so much effort into ensuring customer satisfaction and they are always available to provide support. I really like the software itself as it's very easy to use and the price point is very reasonable. But I honestly think their customer service and support is what really sets them high above the competition.

Cons: The only thing I don't like is one very small part regarding billing. If you click "refund" it charges that amount to the customer (you can get around this by selecting "discount" instead). A lot of people have commented about this on their Facebook group and an administrator has responded, but their response still doesn't make sense, even after reading it several times.

Overall: MMS has made my life much easier because it keeps me organized. My website and online registration abilities give my home business that extra professional feel. It has been very easy to use and the customer service has been outstanding.

Pros: I switched over from a competitor after months of stress and My Music Staff has been a breath of fresh air. Everything worked great and it was MUCH more affordable. The built-in website works well, the invoicing and expense software is easy to use and also very customisable (much more so than the competitor!), the newly improved repertoire function is great, the calendar is easy to use and really powerful. The student portal function is brilliant and it makes it really easy for students and parents to see what's going on. It's honestly just great. I've also been impressed with the quick and friendly responses to feedback I've given - much better than the competitor...

Cons: The milage tracker is currently a bit limited. It's OK, it does the job, but it would be great if the software could figure out your milage automatically based on lessons that you have scheduled in your calendar. On the plus side the developers seem to be constantly improving the technology so maybe this will be improved at some point.

Overall: My Music Staff makes my life much easier. I'm really glad I started using it.

Pros: I love that I can run my entire business from MMS and that I don't need any external invoicing system or anything else to know exactly what is going on in my business.

Cons: Learning how to use the invoicing system was an absolute nightmare trial and error and I still think it is slightly over complicated to just add something to an invoice or change something small.

Overall: I have been using MMS for the last 4 years at another school and once I started my business I knew I had no other choice because it is simply the best option available! It has saved my but with clients so many times because I can go back to notes I made about attendance and prove to them that they cancelled a lesson and therefore still have to pay. If you see students privately or run an entire school. You MUST use My Music Staff. Your life will be way easier!

Pros: What DON'T I like?! MMS has proven itself a very affordable way for me to cut back on HOURS of administrative work each month. I appreciate the professional invoicing systems, attendance tracker, repertoire lists, Stripe payments, auto-email features, student profiles, expense/mileage logs, etc etc etc. I never want to be without this system again!

Cons: I can't name a thing :) I suppose the lag-time on the website is somewhat annoying, but that seems like a miniscule complaint, compared with the benefits.

Overall: I'm not sure what else to say...but I'll add this: My sister in law is an independent dog groomer and I've made HER such a believer in MMS, she's considering signing up for her own use (which, of course, has NOTHING to do with music). Haha! :)

Pros: I love the fact that I can now see at a glance what my schedule for the next day or week is. Invoicing is simple, and when I come to my tax return at the end of the year it is so much easier than when I used a spreadsheet. I also keep all my student notes on the system, and share them with my students, and encourage them to log their practice and contact me during the week if they have any problems.

Cons: I would be so happy if MMS introduced a phone/iPad app rather than it being web based. I sometimes find interacting with the calendar a bit fiddly.

Overall: My Music Staff has been incredibly useful to my business, I can't see how I managed without it! It is also extremely reasonably priced compared with the competitors. Keep up the great work!

Pros: This software makes my administration of 180 students a breeze. The database and functions allow me to filter and group students easily for my school events.

But I think the most important part of any software, is that when I had a problem, I would contact Mymusicstaff folks and they would be on the ball, helping me to solve the issue. Timely and effective support from the Mymusicstaff folks makes me look very good with the parents!

Cons: I don't really have anything I dislike about this software. In fact I highly recommend this to many of my friends.

Overall: I need timely responses when parents tell me a problem they faced using the software, and I can't solve it. The staff has been very quick to respond and solve my issues.

Pros: I love the ease of scheduling, invoicing, tracking payments, communicating, and involving parents and students in a way other than email and text messaging. MyMusicStaff is an online hub and central location for all things related to my private lesson studio. Myself, my students, and their families greatly benefit from this software!

Cons: The thing I like least about this software is trying to find all the cool, hidden things that it can do. I wish there was a full tutorial on all the aspects of each function.

Overall: MyMusicStaff has helped me not only better track the money I'm receiving from private lessons, but has allowed me to document and follow the progress of my students via the online portal and ease of taking lesson notes. The option to keep music in one place online for students to access is fantastic, and allowing for the progress of attendance and invoicing makes my job as a teacher and director of music studio so much easier!

Pros: Automatic billing and payments means I don't have to talk money or waste time every month sending invoices and processing payments.

The note feature allows me to key my lesson notes in and print and/or mail to students and/or parents. It also means that at a glance I can skip an down everything I've done with a student ever. Fabulous.

Cons: Sometimes I have to ask how to do something because it's not always obvious. I can't edit text the way I want in notes or emails, and it's not easy to add videos or audio sometimes, but if I ask, MMS will usually load it for me. I'd just like more independent functionality that way.

Overall: It's been great. It really makes the business side of my business seamless and smooth!

Pros: I joined MMS 3 years ago. It has revolutionized my studio. Every business solution in one place. From scheduling to tracking expenses for taxes, keeping track of my lending library to maintaining a contact list. MMS is always updating and really keeping up with what teachers need to run their businesses efficiently. KUDOS and Congratulations My Music Staff on 5 years of making our business easier to handle.

Cons: There are a few hoops to jump through to get to all the features and use them efficiently. Nothing seriously crazy but it does take some time to learn all the features.

Overall: I no longer lose payments or lose statements. My contact list is easy to update and populate to the emails my studio generates.

Pros: automatic billing feature!!!!! this saves me countless hours and headache each month when billing time comes around plus it guarantees that I will get paid on time

Cons: n/a They are constantly improving the program and this program meets all of my business needs. Only one suggestion would be to create a way to list waiting list and leads by the date they inquired or were added to the wait list. That way when a student drops I can easily locate students in the order of their inquiry or in the order of the wait list

Overall: CUstomer support is always prompt and thorough when answering my questions. This software has made managing a studio of 65 students/1 teacher (myself) easy and simple. Plus tracking inquiries and waiting list is simple too!

Pros: My daughter and I both teach from our home in two different rooms (studios) and My Music Staff has been so easy for us to schedule and bill! Parents can easily see what their children are suppose to practice, when their next lesson is scheduled, and if there are any make up lessons and also, ease of paying tuition.

Cons: Sometimes I have to fiddle around with finding solutions as the "help center" is not always so helpful. I usually end of figuring out what I need to do but it takes a few tries.

Overall: The biggest problem I have solved is billing and payments! It's so easy to invoice families and have them use their credit cards through Paypal! Make up lessons, credits, etc. have been a breeze. I love the fact that My Music Staff allows the studio to be transparent so parents know exactly what's going on with their student's schedule, music homework, and account. It's been wonderful! I'd never go back to my old system!

Pros: I love the quality of organization you receive with MyMusicStaff! You can track everything you need with this one website: from tax deductions and miles driven to your student roster and scheduling, MyMusicStaff has so many tools for music instructors!

I have also found the customer support to be extremely helpful! Anytime I have a question, it's addressed and resolved within the same day, in a friendly and helpful manner.

Cons: The makeup lesson feature doesn't quite line up with my studio policy, so I just ignore it altogether. And sometimes the automatic billing can be a detriment; I'll have to go and make adjustments to students' pricing and such. But that's really it!

Overall: A truly wonderful website for any music instructor looking to organize their business and be able to use one website for everything!

My studio was starting to get out of hand; I couldn't organize everything by myself! But thanks to MyMusicStaff, all that tedious work is done for me! PLUS I give my students the flexibility of registering for their own slots; they really enjoy that feature!

Pros: All the "Studio" business needs are kept in one place. Since I teach at several locations, the information comes with me on my computer or phone. I love that the parents can easily see their accounts and that usually clears up any confusion. The lesson reminder feature is wonderful and my parents and students so appreciate this reminder in their busy lives.

Cons: I appreciate almost everything. I do not believe the CON is the software, but the lack of knowledge and understanding of concepts on my end because I still do prefer paper.

Overall: I have had a wonderful experience with My Music Staff. All my questions are answered and it continues to improve itself as it serves so many musicians. Thank you!!!

Cons: I would like to be able to market products to my students via MMS.

Overall: I moved to from Music Teacher's Helper to My Music Staff because their was a higher level of stability and better features. The tools I need are laid out in a logical order and load fast. Anytime I have had a problem and contacted customer support, I have always received a fast personal response via email within 24 hours. Most of the time within just a few hours. In the future, I hope they will add e-commerce and maybe a dedicated mobile app. I will say that the "web app" functions fine with the exception of some buttons being a little small to click on. Overall, this company is focused on the end user and aims to meet their needs.

Our teachers love the portal which allows them to see and adjust their schedules. Our parents love the access to lesson notes, financial records & the practice portal. We tried other platforms, but truly, nothing compares to what MyMusicStaff has to offer!

Pros: I like the ease and functionality of the system. I'm able to easily find all of the information I need for each student in one place. It has allowed me to focus more time on my students and less time on office work! I highly recommend this to others every day. It has been a game changer and is well worth the nominal price.

Cons: Like any new program or system, it takes a minute to catch up and learn. There are just a couple of things I'm not happy with, but I also think that they are unique to me. For example, I'd like to have the completed lessons numbered so I can quickly see how many have been completed. But I can count :)

Overall: I run a growing music studio and having MMS has allowed me to open up some opportunities. I think that with this tool I can grow larger than I expected and it will ease the was to help me attain some financial goals that I didn't think were possible.

Pros: I love the ease of scheduling, the fact that all my lessons are in day view as well as calendar view, and most important for me, it tracks how much my students owe so I don't forget to charge them!

Cons: One thing about changing/ trading a student's time with another - it's awkward. You have to delete one student, change the time of the other student, and then add the other student back in - there's no ability to swap times with 2 students. If that could be fixed, I would love life!

Overall: My Music Staff has literally changed the way I keep track of students/lessons/fees. I am way more organized, have easier communication with students and parents, and can keep track of how much students owe with EASE! Thanks guys!!!

Pros: The online portal means that you are able to use any device to access and control your information. Students and parents have a simple, all in one place platform that they have control over. The functionality is simple and effective. The updates are based on customer feedback and the support team are truly on the ball.

Cons: Different clients are all labelled as students. Would be good to have a variety of client options to enable schools, charities, students etc to have their own designation.

Overall: MMS is the only package that allows us to have what we need, where we need it and when we need it. It's concise enough that you might like a little more but there are always updates and new features to try.

-Easy communication between individual or all students and teacher.

-Provides simple distribution of sheet music, lesson notes, or other materials for download to students.

-Students can provide practice notes and practice time that both them and the teacher have access to, allowing for mutual communication and creating more valuable lessons with provided information.

Cons: -Lesson notes are on an "honor system", and there is no tracking of whether or not students truly do track time as they go or if they simply write words into the practice log and submit straight away, making it very easy for students to lie here.

Pros: My Music Staff is my accountant, my secretary, my calendar, communications, public relations, it is one of the biggest reasons I'm a successfully self-employed piano teacher! I love the price, how easy it is to use, they're always updating, and they're customer service is top notch.

Cons: Whenever I have a little concern or small thing I'd love to have available, they have always fixed it or updated it within a few weeks. So I don't really have a least favorite thing.

Overall: My Music Staff is amazing. Every music teacher would greatly benefit having this huge resource at their finger tips. I have been with them for three years and I've never regretted switching to this program. It keeps getting better and better!

Pros: The ease of scheduling is so helpful with a large studio of 34. The invoices and website are professional and impresses all my clients. The customer support is incomparable to all compeditors! They immediately get back to me and are so helpful. I couldn't say enough about how wonderful the service is!

Cons: Honestly? If I had to ask for anything it would be more website templates. I'd love to be able to have more custom options and make my page look more artistic and modern.

Overall: I tell all my colleagues about this software. It is so helpful for me and keeps me organized and makes my job so much easier. I think I'm a better teacher because I spend all of my time doing the thing I love most, teaching.

Pros: My Music Staff is tailored to the needs of practitioners in our field. Handling families with multiple children in the studio, or appointment types that need to accommodate multiple participants is effortless.

Cons: I've been sitting and thinking about this for a while. There are a couple of minuscule things about the calendar that might be nice to change, but I think they are the way they are because it is an online platform. It's really solid application.

Overall: I have been teaching privately for over twenty years and made the transition to an All-Digital workflow long before most of my colleagues. I worked with a number of only scheduling platforms and found most of them very frustrating, or not structured properly for this field. My Music Staff does both and I have recommended it to colleagues many times. It is the centerpiece of my operation and all communication and scheduling flow through it.

Pros: Best decision I ever made. I use the calendar daily. It is so easy it is to schedule appointments. My parents are able to log in, see the calendar and register for events and classes as needed. It has really streamed lined registration each summer and fall. It helped me keep track of the the student's repertoire and has helped me manage my books so easily.

Cons: Not really a con, but I would love a place to keep track of scores. Unfortunately it would need to be customize-able to each program I have my students in, right now I use Excel to keep all their scores and I would love to have the info all in one place.

Overall: I've only had to contact customer support a couple times and each time I did, they got right back to me and fixed or answered the problem. So far I've had a stellar experience and can't imagine my life without MMS.

Pros: The calendar is user friendly and turns a nightmare of scheduling into a recurring dream (and it syncs to my iPhone's calendar!! Woot!)

Cons: I would really love to have an administrator option that was clearly defined and separated all the details from teachers. I have someone in my business who doesn't teach and purely administrates and so clear definition for an administrator would be great!

Overall: Really great - my teachers really enjoy their time using the application and managing their students and the body of work for each individual. We found tax time a breeze because of the reporting function and we would love to set up PayPal too.

Great system and great service. The facebook group is a welcome feature.

Pros: It's so easy to use, and it makes attendance and payment recording so effortless! I love how many features and options, especially the invoice creator! Overall this is a need for anyone in music lesson business! We don't need to be spending hours doing accounting and record keeping - this allows us to focus on our main objective, teaching incredible singers and musicians!!!! :)

Cons: I don't have any cons! I really like how this software was created!

Overall: I spent years doing my own attendance on paper, and using excel and charts. It was terrible, and so time consuming, not to mention I lost a lot of money on mathematical errors, and not being able to keep proper track of all my clients and their pay schedules. After getting My Music Staff, I know feel in control, and can run my business easily and effectively - and so QUICK!!!!!! Thank you a million times over!

Pros: While there are other class management programs available, My Music Staff understands the unique needs of music teachers. It was easy to get started and it seems that every time I think " I wonder if the software can do ______ ?" it can! It has been indispensable in creating a smoothly running business , freeing up my time, and giving me the security of knowing MMS is keeping me organized. The automatic invoicing is great. Clients have been impressed by my professionalism and the features of the Student Portal.

Cons: No dedicated "emergency contact" field for students. There is a workaround to this though so it's a very minor issue.

Overall: I love MMS. Customer service is hands down the best I have experienced, and they are always improving the software from customer feedback. There's no going back for me!

Pros: I can't imagine ever teaching without this software. It keep my sometimes crazy teaching schedule organized, invoicing and billing is amazing, reminders to parents and students about upcoming lessons is invaluable. Great customer service--website has wonderful tutorials! Very easy to use after you set it up. It just runs my studio like clockwork! I had used a couple of other calendar/invoicing software systems before, but My Music Staff is my forever software. I just couldn't operate without it!

Cons: I absolutely don't have any cons. Just take some time when you set it up and it will run perfectly!

Pros: My Music Staff has been a life saver for me. I am able to handle my lesson load in a more organized fashion.

As a result of this wonderful program, I have almost gone completely "green." Very seldom do I have to send communication by means of physical documents. Parents are especially appreciative of the weekly progress reports (lesson notes) received after each lesson session. I am also excited about featuring my personal studio website along with the My Music Staff program. Creating the website was extremely easy, and is a nice addition to introducing new and prospective students to information about the programs offered within my studio. My Music Staff, overall, is an AWESOME program.

Pros: This program kept me organized. I knew that everything I needed would be in one place.

Overall: This program allows me to keep track of student attendance and practice notes on a daily basis. It also helps me to ensure that I am getting paid for my services and automatically sends out invoices on my behalf. It allows me to accept credit card payments and also offers the user a way to set up a website if the user does not have one of their own. There is also a way for students and parents to log in to record their practice times, make payments, see notes and documents and so much more. At the end of the year, with just a few clicks I have a report ready to help with submitting any documents I need for tax purposes.

Pros: Customer service is AWESOME. Quick response and have always successfully helped me with any questions or issues!

Cons: I wish it had a true app interface. But the mobile website works well as a substitute. For some reason I struggle with the make-up lesson tracking feature, and I would like to be able to customize reports better as well as create my own reports that may not be standard based on specific desired fields of info.

Overall: This software easily automates processes that are very cumbersome to do manually. I do not use the student portal feature yet, but I love the scheduling, invoicing, and messaging features. And the event reminder texts and emails help our students so much!

I can upload scans of as much music as I want. It truly is magical!

Cons: The "app" is just a link that take you to the website. (Unless it got fixed...it's been so long since I used it).

But, that is me finding an issue. Lol!

Overall: It has been fabulous! I was working at several different schools and needed a way to see them all on the calendar and they helped me color code the student by school. Cons: The way the program assigns credits/makeups took somebody getting used to, and I wish there were a payment option for parents to pay directly though the site.

Overall: My Music Staff has completely changed the way I spend my time organizing lessons for my studio. I started using the program just when I hit full capacity and was having to schedule 40-50 students per week. Pros: Its funny, what I hate most doing, is what I like best about this software. Administration!

It helps me, my clients and my teachers keep track. My clients are much more grateful, especially having many kids, with many different schedules, and extra murals, sending them a reminder, really helps. I like the fact that it's user friendly, and its the only place I can use to manage everything.

Cons: That it does not have an app version. Although its great to login on the net, an App will encourage my clients to use it more often.

Overall: Awesome! A software we will use forever! It has made life much easier for me.

Pros: I pretty much love everything about this software!! I've just recently started using the student portal feature and will be implementing the automatic invoicing next month, and I have had nothing but great feedback from all of my staff and students!

Cons: The ONLY thing that I don't love (and it isn't really a problem, just a tiny bit inconvenient) is that you can't change the monthly fees for all of your existing students at once when you raise your rates. You have to do each student individually. (Which is still better than other programs that I've used!)

Overall: I would highly recommend this program to anyone who is running a music studio- even if you have 10 students coming to your house! It has been a life-saver for me to keep all of my information organized and I don't think I could do what I do without it!!

Pros: Everything organized! I have a lot of downloads and this has been a big plus for me and my studio community. And Can I Just Tell You That Collecting Payment IS Accomplished Almost By Magic! I think this is my biggest take away from this program. My bookkeeping headaches are no more!

Cons: No ability to text communique. I would love to have text option in a dropdown menu to easily text multiple families at once.

Overall: This has transformed my studio from a mess to organized! Thank you for being my fairy godmother My Music Staff! I have everything in one place: calendar, invoices, download library, expense tracking, newsletter creation and more!

Pros: I appreciate being able to sign up for something that has a set price no matter how it is used. I like that it is simple and straightforward - with every feature being practical and useful. It's not a bunch of showy fluff. It all works and works well. It is simple to set up and is absolutely packed with useful features!

Cons: This is so minor but I wish I could link audio files or attach video files WITH/INSIDE my notes for students and classes in the Student Portal.

Overall: First, I have to say I NEVER submit reviews for things. I just feel like I don't have time. And frankly, there are few things that truly WOW me. I am only writing this because My Music Staff has wowed me. I would refer it to any professional in the music world. I have a quickly growing group piano and Kindermusik studio and I have been able to manage all of it with this software. I have my website posted through My Music Staff. I do all of my billing and parent communication with this software. It is one of the BEST purchases I have made for my business.

Pros: I use this software to manage everything about my piano teaching business. I love that I can add notes to each lesson and don't have to worry about students losing notebooks. I also really like not having to deal with all the math for billing. I like how it works great on my PC, iPad and iPhone really well.

Cons: I really can't think of anything bad. I used to dislike having to copy notes from a previous lesson. They fixed that by allowing me to open a new lesson with the previous notes forwarded.

Overall: I have been using My Music Staff for about 4 years. It is definitely a great service at a reasonable cost.

Pros: It is very simple to navigate. The ease of navigating the tabs, and the website. Our teachers and users pick up on it quicly and the student portal and email reminders are something that all the parents love.

Cons: The more we grew, the slower the program ran. We are opver 400students and 25 teachers so that is a given. The accounting/invoice portion leaves a bit to be desired. There needs to be a way to pull actual family balances instead of basing off invoices. Inegrate the account balance with the invoices so invoices change as transactions apply would work better.

Overall: Overall it has been great. When we have issues we have found the answers in help or contacted the help desk. Replies were not always fast, but problems were solved in a realistic time that sdid not cost us money.

Pros: There are so many functions available and help manage my studio more efficiently. It has helped me to stay more organized and keep track of records better. The best thing is the price... I've tried other software programs before finding mymusicstaff, but none of them compares in functions AND price.

Cons: The only thing I would love to see is more options for designing your own invoice (with an uploaded template) or even more options to customize. I'd also like to see more options on the homepage. I wouldn't necessarily say they were cons though, because I am much more content having a program that will do it for me rather than doing it own my own.

Overall: I have over 60 students and this has been the best thing to help me track attendance and payments.

Pros: I am the Head Teacher of Creative and Performing Arts at a High School; I also run a school band program. It has been a very useful tool for admin, accountability (student and tutor logs), timetabling, lessonn reminders and also from a data base perspective. It provides a easily accessible web based platform to connect a range of people that don't always have the opportunity to meet up.

Cons: I would like to be able to forward sent emails. This is really useful when I am contacting parents about overdue fees.

Overall: An amazing program and I don't know what I would do without it.

Pros: It's so easy to use- everything is where you expect it to be, and the pricing is great compared to other companies on the market. I switched to MMS 3 years ago and I would never go back! I use it for my personal studio and my work's music studio that I oversee! 10/10 I recommend it to every teacher I meet!

Cons: I actually have no complains about this software, anytime I've had a question the support staff answers it almost instantly- it has been a real joy!

Pros: We love this software and we don't even teach music! We are a non-profit offering thera[eutic aquatics for people with disabilities. We mainly do one-on-one sessions with participants. This scheduler offered us what we wanted and solved our problems at a better cost than any other lessons software one would normally find for sport or therapy sessions. We use the music related headings to sort for other groups specific to our use.

Cons: there are a few things we have to work around, especially in the sorting capabilities.

Overall: Our bottom line has improved because of the invoicing capabilities and the invoices themselves are very clear. We like that we could put our own logo on the invoice, especially as we have nothing to do with music :)

Pros: My least favorite thing to do as a piano teacher is to collect payment and keep track of whose paid for the month. I found myself spending the entire month having to ask for payment and track down parents to pay. I love that I can set up MMS to automatically send an invoice out to my parents, and when they "forget" to pay, it also automatically sends out a a late fee. No longer do I spend the month trying to track down all the payments, it's done for me! So easy, and I don't have to be the bad guy!

Cons: I wish I could get my parents to use their portals more often - not sure that's a software issue.

Overall: This is the one thing that is invaluable for my piano teaching business! I can't live without it!

Pros: My biggest pros about My Music Staff are the invoice and automatic reminder capabilities. They make it such a breeze to bill your students and make sure that they are reminded each and every week to show up to their lessons which lowers your "no-show" student frequency.

Cons: The only thing I wish My Music Staff would incorporate is a mobile app that is a bit more user friendly than the saved webpage version. Otherwise, I absolutely love My Music Staff as a Music teacher!!!

Overall: Overall I couldn't be happier with how my studio is flourishing in its first year using My Music Staff. The parents love it, I love the financial part of it, and the scheduler makes it easy and keeps open communication so that both sides can see when the lessons are/aren't scheduled.

Pros: Billing is now a minutes-long endeavor, whereas before I joined "My Music Staff", it would take me about 8 hours to write up, proof-read, and send my bills every month.

Scheduling is SUPER EASY now, too, and I love that students can reschedule their own lessons. I'm so grateful that my teaching schedule automatically shows up on my iCal and Google Calendars, too. (Though is can be a bit quirky...)

Cons: I wish I could make it so that each student group could only see lessons available at their available teaching locations. Right now, all of my students can see available lessons at all of my locations, but, for example, my Monday students can't take lessons at my Tuesday and Thursday locations, and vice versa. It hasn't been a problem yet, but I can see how it could be a problem in the future.

Overall: IT saves me SO MUCH TIME, and I'm much more organized now.

Cons: Lack of an open API to integrate with other marketing software like email, sales pages, etc.

Overall: It's almost perfect. I've gone through three other platforms over the last 11 years, and this is pretty great. I really wish I could control my email marketing and funnel with an integration to Mailchimp or Drip or any other modern email platform. Sure, most music teachers and schools may not use that now, but this would feature would future proof the software and keep almost any school going forever. Pros: My Music Staff really is like having an office assistant. All of my students' contact info is in one place. I'm able to create mass emails that are still personalized to each student with their email template creator. And I just can't live without the automatic invoice system. It saves me hours every week! I also love seeing my daily agenda, and all the info for each student right on the homepage.

Cons: I wish that the calendar view from the student's perspective would automatically show all of my lessons, even if they are full. That would help my students understand what my schedule is like on a day to day basis. I also think the calendar interface for the students is a little confusing when they are registering for a different lesson time. Most of my students still come to me to reschedule lessons, rather than using the site.

Pros: I love MMS for it's easy to use accounting functions - I can schedule all my students, and easily keep track of what families owe, as well as my own expenses. It also helps me budget, because I can see my income for a particular month at a click. I love the automatic invoicing function too!

Cons: I would really like for there to be a third party invoicing function (outside of a family account).

Cons: Nothing. I love it and can't find any feature that I don't like.

Overall: I used a ledger for my first three years of teaching piano lessons. It was a disaster trying to keep track of payments, attendance, and taxes. Even a spreadsheet didn't help me. But when I made the switch to My Music Staff a few years ago, suddenly EVERY part of bookkeeping and scheduling was easy. Pros: The best feature is that I can pay the same price if I have 3 students or 20 students. For me, this beats other competitors. The second best feature (which other competitors may have) is I can invoice students directly through MyMusicStaff.

Cons: If there was a "con," it is that it is not an actual app. Even though it allows you to save the icon as an app (and the software is mobile friendly) it still sends me to my web application. However, this a minor thing.

Overall: I looked into other apps and even tried others (such as BetterPracticeApp), and MyMusicStaff is simply the best. The fact that as a teacher I am constantly getting new students or when a student quits, I don't have to worry about paying for each student. The fact that it manages everything (literally) for me means I can have peace of mind in doing what I want to do - teach music - and not worry about the management of my studio. Thanks MyMusicStaff.

Pros: I love the ease of scheduling students and managing my day-to-day schedule! I also appreciate that I can provide my studio families access to things like their personal calendar and downloads of recordings that enhances their experience in my studio. My Music Staff takes my studio to the next level!

Cons: The only thing I don't care for is not being able to specify a quantity for an item in my lending library. If I have multiple copies of an item I'm lending to a student it would be helpful to see that only one of them is borrowed but I still have one remaining.

Pros: In running a music school with 7 teachers and 6 different rooms/locations with 75+ students, this software makes it about as easy as one can imagine to keep organized. Can view schedule by teacher, by student, by room, or as a full calendar. You can create groups, events, upload files, enable parent/student access with individual log-ins. These are all great and useful.

Cons: There are a couple weird kinks, like not being able to drag and drop a lesson if there are any conflicts, or having to re-assign each student to a teacher if moving one lesson. But these are relatively few and far between and the overall functionality is fantastic.

Pros: The best thing is the ease of having all the student details in one place. Booking lessons and invoicing in bulk has saved me SO much time!

The software keeps track of how many lessons have been paid for and it's super easy to stay on top of attendance and fees. :)

Cons: I would love if taking notes on each student was faster and easier to do in bulk. The current method takes a little bit of time to load as it goes between each student adn to add notes takes an extra click. It's a bit time consuming...

Overall: I used to lose track of payments for lessons and had parents paying up to 3 months late, now I know exactly who's paid for what and when students have come to lessons. It's also great for parents to be able to view invoices and lesson times, it takes the awkwardness out of asking for payment because they can see exactly how much they've paid and when. I love it!

Great for automation and ease of communication!

Pros: I love the automation functions. It's so easy to set up automatic bill pay, automatic invoicing, and automatic reminders for my students! Also, it's very easy to onboard new clients.

Cons: Some of the interfaces - especially selecting the time when scheduling lessons - is quite clunky. Especially on mobile devices. Also, working with PayPal integration was a nightmare! Not sure if anything is changed since I set up my account or year ago, but integrating with Stripe took me about five minutes. I spent over two days trying to get PayPal business set up, & it wouldn't work.

Overall: Very positive - I look forward to seeing what improvements they make in the future!

Pros: I love that all of my scheduling and billing is in one place.

Cons: It would be better if it were free! But since the developers deserve to get paid, I think the price is great for all the features and the responsiveness of the team.

Overall: I use My Music Staff for scheduling piano lessons in my single-teacher studio. It keeps track of who has paid me, what lessons are coming up, and which students have canceled a lesson. I also use it to send automatic invoices, email and text reminders of upcoming lessons, and to keep up with expenses and revenue for taxes.

Pros: The calendar and the payroll system are what you need for a multi-teacher studio. The expenses / income are intergrated with the payroll to give us a clear picture as what an account manager will do for our small business.

Cons: The sms texting : if it could be replaced by WhatsApp.

The download of online resources sometimes takes plenty of time.

The customisation of fiscal year of my country (Apr 1 - Mar 31) which I have mentioned to the technical support many times.

Pros: All my teachers LOVE the ease of getting paid monthly AUTOMATICALLY! The PayPal option is fabulous! We are SO glad we found My Music Staff.

Cons: Setting up our year is a ton of work, but SO WORTH it, knowing that our parents will be reminded monthly and credit cards are billed automatically. This is our third year, and after the initial set up each year, it is the best thing since sliced bread!

Overall: Love that our people get an automatic invoice each month. It has solved many "collection" problems!

Pros: MMS has revolutionized my studio! I came from another music business site not quite fulfilled and looking for something fresh and new that fit all of my needs. MMS was just the change I needed. It's so easy to use and parents LOVE the features.

Cons: Since it's so easy to use, now I have extra time on my hands. I guess I'll have to find a new hobby or...... maybe practice. Lol. Seriously, there's nothing that I dislike about MMS!

Overall: The software is amazing but the customer support is even better. If I have a question I can usually just search for it on the FAQ but if I'm feeling lazy I can email or even ask in the Facebook group and get an answer at lightning speed!
