September 12, 2018 5.0 As most business owners know, it is really hard to stay on top of everything. I have an extremely large vocal studio. Many times people want to talk to see availability etc. Because of my hours I do not have the time to give to every single person. My students love that they can schedule and reschedule lessons, the parents love that there are reminder texts, and I love everything! Pros This software allows me to schedule with ease. It gives my students the flexibility to cancel and reschedule lessons. And it helps to create invoices to make paying much easier. Before the software, I did everything by hand. It was time consuming and frustrating. Cons I honestly haven't found anything I don't like yet. It is all very easy to use. Review Source IC Ivy C. Being able to keep track of everything from my schedule to expenses is fantastic. I have been using the program for 2 years now and still find features that I didn’t know about. Pros I love that I can schedule my lessons, set up invoicing & not give it another thought. Every month in the first week of teaching the money rolls in from my customers, with NO MATH on my end! Calculating bills was always my least favourite thing about teaching. Thanks to MMS I no longer need to. Offerings: calendar, invoices, website, on-line resources and most of all, registration process. Cons Anything I had trouble wasn't the fault of MMS. It was my IT shortcomings. With over 70 students a week it can be hard to organize everything, such as lesson times, payments etc, but mymusicstaff takes care of it all for me so that I can focus on giving the best music lessons possible to my students! Pros I love how easy it is to organize students, lesson times, make up lessons, invoicing etc etc. This software handles every aspect of your business! I love how easy it makes invoices and keeping track of payments. It makes communicating with parents so easy! The company has a flat rate making it affordable for private lesson teachers with a lot of students. This is my first year using the program and it has been 100 percent on que to fit my business needs. Much of my admin work is now automated or being completed by the students and student families as they can login and complete their own scheduling and payments. I recommend MMS as a necessary program for this business to increase productivity, take work out but still maintain visibility, accountability and control! Pros Scheduling and invoicing - students can login and access their own schedule and make changes. Cons There are certain things that are difficult to edit in bulk on the calendar; it is pretty tedious to have to enter in items individually, but there are certain instances where there is no other option. It has helped me manage all of my online lessons, and help me with students that use different video calling platforms. It helps me keep all my student notes in one place, and also allows me to keep a register for my school pupils. I now also use it for all of my teaching invoicing and billing. Pros The software is easy to use. It enables me to consolidate all of my students from different schools, and private students into one place. It takes care of literally everything I need and more. The student portal is absolutely fantastic, and the fact parents can log in to see what needs to be practised is amazing. Saves me a lot of time since everything can be found in one location - student/parent info, billing, library usage, festival fees, sign-up for groups, makeup lesson options and budgeting. I know I have to learn more about what My Music Staff can do and I look forward to it! Pros My Music Staff is user friendly - more than other music teaching business software that I've used before. Plus, it's design is more contemporary and looks more "fresh" than others. The parents love the change to My Music Staff and have had no complaints. In fact, none of the parents have had difficulty with the signing in process or canceling a lesson properly. I was surprised to see that parents were already using My Music Staff website to make cancelations for future and signing up for makeup lessons and theory groups. Keeps track of all the financial and tax info, as well as student info (including repertoire and a loan library). Cons Must have internet access, but that hasn't been a problem yet. I love working with the children, not so much the business end and this has saved so much time that I can really focus on doing what I love while knowing that the financial end is mostly taken care of with minimal effort. Pros I love that It's so easy to send an invoice to people who have forgotten to pay, and then instead of waiting another week for them to come to class, they can pay right then! It keeps everything organized much better and easier than I could ever do myself! Cons It's a little hard to learn at the beginning, but customer service helped a lot and I got over that quickly.
