The system does what it needs to with few issues. For the most part, MC is responsive and fixes these issues. However, reporting can be challenging with data "living" in multiple reports, requiring outside services to combine them into something usable (e.g., 6 fields you need are on one report, and 3 are on another) and the "new" report solution still has many data errors and latency issues. Pros Hands down the best support from any QMS software company that I have personally used - and that includes bespoke systems. MasterControl really listens to its users and is actively engaged with its customer base. Cons The UI is starting to show its age and as an administrator, can be somewhat complex. However, this complexity has a purpose to keep things simple for the end user. Pros I like how seamlessly documents and training integrate together and how easy it is to find information once documents are linked. The document collaboration takes some getting used to but works very well once you understand the flow. The system is very flexible in terms of different workflows and document types. Cons The searchability of the AQEM module is pretty poor compared to documents and training. Insights does help with trending but searching for a specific quality event without knowing the number up front is difficult. Additionally, controlled printing is a little bit of a hassle and is less flexible than the rest of Qx. They have so many tools to support you in whatever stage of the process you are in. Customer support is outstanding and we always have a quick response to the issues we are dealing with. We feel well supported and taken care of. Pros The Documents and training module are so easy to use. I love how multiple collaborators can work on something and you have traceability of who added what. Also, training tasks are easy to assign and automate so that you never have to fall behind. The supplier module has also been great for us so that we are able to keep track of our approved suppliers and which products they supply to us. We have even be able to indicate which markets the products are approved for which helps our demand/planning and purchasing teams. Cons The Audit module needs to be updated. When we were using it, there were many defects and work arounds that we had to use. This caused a lot of inefficiencies in our process as we had to restart multiple times. The support from developing and implementing the system was easy. In addition, compliant with the current practices. Pros The modules for Document Control and AQEM are robust and compliant. Once the system is set up, it becomes easy. The more you use the system, it will eventually pay for itself in terms of time and resources. Cons There can be the odd bug or issue but the Customer Support is good. Very quick and responsive and the service is professional and friendly. Pros These customizable workflows help us work independently while cutting down validation time and deliverables. Cons The standard forms don’t fit our business requirements, so we need to tailor the workflows and fields. This will bring additional time to develop new processes. The system has it's strengths and is making efforts to make itself AI ready. However, certain modules need significant enhancements to qualify for the status of a complete QMS suite. Pros Documents, Training modules are easy to use. The new AI tools being added are improving the robustness of the QMS. Customer support and compliance matters are handled well too Cons Certain areas such as Supplier quality and Audit modules have been outdated and ignored for years. They are an important part of a QMS suite and must enhanced soon.
