Pros: Segmenting of tags for accurate reporting along with: Automatic starting and stopping.

Cons: Starting a new time for a project needs to be very accurate (within 2 minutes) otherwise a break forms when I don't need one.

Overall: When I started as an employee as a website developer and IT Support Officer I wanted an easy way to keep track of my time and how I use my time.

I asked myself: That takes up the majority of my time and how often do I change tasks throughout the day?

The system that was originally developed was very manual and required the required only journal for start and finish times.

After trialing a large amount of software and solutions on the market I started using TMetric and have had my best time management experience.

Not only do I now keep a time log of my work but I can also analyse my time history and provide my employer with instant reports within seconds based on my key words (Tags) and/or Project and/or Client. The amount of options is amazing.

I have submitted development requests and have seen some of my great ideas developed within Tmetrics online application. With the product continuous being improved, I won't be moving away from TMetric. TMetric has helped me organise my website developing skills into a development areas. The recording of website development time segments has helped better prepare for more accurate quoting for website customisations.

Overall: TMetric is a innovative tool, that initially I was extremely resistant too, as I didn't understand the value in recording time.

After 1 whole month of recording time, I immediately saw the benefit. Even though I have been working in a similar way for a long time, I did not truly understand how much time I lost. I knew there was parts of my day to day work I needed to improve, but couldn't fully pinpoint where the churn of time was.

Luckily, Tmetric allows me to see just how much time I TRULY spend with tasks not important to my real work, and where I can best spend that time instead.

The UI is brilliant now. Other then the below improvement suggestion, it is actually very smooth to use. Easy to learn and easy to master.

Improvements:

I would like to see it better predict what tasks I am putting in. There are some tasks, especially in the morning, I feel it could be smart and know I always have a stand-up at 9:30AM in the week if i log time that day. Then, If I happen not too, it would be easier for me to remove, rather then keep selecting this on a day to day basis.

Pros: Very simple and intuitive, visual timeline for your worklogs and breaks

Cons: Billing rates are very basic (only one rate for your account and a team member rate)

Overall: After another free time tracking app we used completely overhauled their UI in favour of providing lots of features we didn't really need, we went to look for an alternative solution. We stumbled upon TMetric, a new time tracking app seemingly still in its early stages. This is great because the team behind it clearly focused on the essentials first without bloating the software with feature creep. The core interactions required for a time tracking app are all very polished and unlike the competitor products. I personally really like the timeline and seeing my logged work hours and breaks so visually. It's also really intuitive to add breaks or worklog items after the fact. Integrations with common project management software are plentiful and the one I used so far works seamless ly (GitLab). The only shortcomings are in the billing rate options, these are still very basic so having multiple different rates depending on task type etc is not possible yet (as far as I know). However, Devart has a support portal where they are reasonably active and you can request features there.

Pros: Simple, free, easy to track track time and generate reports.

Cons: In my specific case, the limitation that prevents employees from entering time more than 3 days late has been troublesome. I would like to see an option to control this functionality, as well as perhaps a time-approval process that can be done on a weekly basis, where employees submit their time and have it approved by a supervisor.

Overall: I've been using T-Metric for months, and it has been my go-to time-tracking software. It is currently offered for free so its value for money is superb.We'll see how they choose to charge for their service in the future. For now, it being free and having a nice Chrome extension that plays well with Asana, as well as its extremely easy-to-use interface and simplicity are what drew me to it and keep me here.

Recommendations to other buyers: Please keep this service free/mostly-free for early, bootstrapping startups. There aren't many others out there that have allowed me to keep track of time for so long for free. In these early days all I need is to track time, and if we find investors/money I'd be much more likely to purchase pro-features in this system that we already rely on.

Pros: The thing I like most about TMetric is the "Today" page. It provides great information and makes time tracking quite simple.

Cons: The reports are fairly barebones... just the data. Wish the time tracking data was used to create graphics of how much work was done on each day/week/month for different projects.

Overall: My favorite thing about TMetric is the day view. This is the main view where you start and stop tasks. It's incredibly simple and has a fantastic graph showing all logged work for the day.

This lets me easily see:

- How much I've been working on a task during the day

- How much time I've logged for the day

- By hovering, I can see how long each break I took was.

I've used several other time tracking services, and none of them made it this easy to cover those basic features.

Pros:

- Great day overview graphic.

- Easily see how long breaks where.

- Free for up to 5 users!

Cons:

- The UI isn't the most intuitive. Once you understand how things work, it's easy.

- Desktop app is for Windows only, so I can't take advantage of their automatic tracking.

- Reports don't generate any graphics, just line items with hours.

Currently the reports tell you things like "You spent 40 hours on this project", but I don't see a way to see a graphic that would tell me when I worked those 40 hours.

Overall, this a great tool for time tracking. My one piece of advice if you're thinking of trying TMetric: Commit to trying this for a week. You need to push past the initial setup and slight learning curve to enjoy how easy TMetric is to use.

Overall: Time tracking is hard, I've used 2-3 other time tracking apps on a daily basis for a couple of months and the only piece of software that really nailed the core functionality for me was TMetric. The interface is put simply, a pleasure to work with. On top of that, I don't even use the main interface that much, because the Chrome Extension integrates neatly with almost every (webdev) project management tool we've used (Github, Gitlab, JIRA, ..)

The only thing that would be a nice to have(having used Harvest as well), is billing rates per tag or task categories. We bill certain types of tasks within a project differently to our customers and creating a project per type of task for every customer seems like an akward way of achieving this. I know a few companies that would switch to TMetric instantly if this feature was available.

Overall I love TMetric and it's simplicity!

Recommendations to other buyers: Add the ability to setup billing per project / per tag would be awesome.

Pros: Good integration with third-party tools.

Time Value Calculation Resource.

Cons: Integration with third-party systems can not tell the project when I start a task. This causes me to have a job getting back on the site, editing the task and informing the project.

Overall: I searched a lot of time and tested various project management tools and ended up adopting Tmetric. It was the most complete tool I found and still has integration with several development ideals like visual studio online. In addition to having a great range of free use, it helps a lot to small teams that have no budget for paid tools.

Recommendations to other buyers: Maybe an API in which I can query time value information so I can integrate into my system.

Pros: web based no need to install software on the pc

can track from anywhere after logging in.

Ability to run and generate reports

Cons: so far there is nothing that I can complain

Would like to be able to send an email into a bot to capture time if needed.

Overall: Excellent time keeping software allows to keep track of my hours on the current task and i can give my boss more accurate numbers about how long it takes to develop a program or whatever task that I am working on.

Pros: KISS: Keep It Simples Stupid. And that's it, simple things are better.

Cons: Not so fast, not so pretty.

Overall: Well, I've been using TMetric for a while now with the team I work with and there area some things I really unlike.

Let's talk about performance: why every single time I click on a task to edit it takes a while? It's not fast, and it should be.

Your support is not as friendly as I imagined. After a TMetric's update, I found a bug and opened an issue as fast as I could for you guys, and I really was expecting a more friendly feedback.

And about updates: please, be careful with deploys in production. You can test your software in modules. Until that bug I said before was fixed, I got some troubles here because of that.

I think that's it. Thank you guys, your work is amazing.

Pros: I like it's simplicity - both in looks and function. Once the browser extension is installed you can time track tasks straight from Asana or manually add the time yourself - both methods are relatively quick to do.

I like that you can view reports of how you've spent your time - on what projects and clients. Very useful for administrators and accountants.

Cons: It often crashes, breaks or bugs out, leaving myself and my team unable to track our hours in the software. It only breaks every three weeks or so, but I suppose I did expect it to work ALL the time.

The other thing that is very annoying is when you are manually entering your hours and they start in AM and finish in PM. The slightly-clunky-to-use clock interface does not automatically guess that you meant PM and ruins all the hours you've already entered that morning by setting the last task as finishing at 12.45AM!

The analogue clock face interface used to enter times is a little annoying - it has to be clicked or pressed in the right order and very accurately.

It is easy to accidentally leave a timer tracking - even overnight. Perhaps there could be some way to counter this?

Overall: I've been using it for around a year now and, like I say above, it's mostly fine and easy but with a couple of bugs or areas of badly designed UI or UX.

The page design and colour scheme and UI do feel a little dated and not quite slick enough perhaps?

Pros: Of all the time trackers i have used - this one is more comfortable than the rest. Its greatest advantage is simplicity. You just make a couple of click and huzzah - the clock is ticking.

It was very helpful in understanding how much time it takes for me to complete certain type of tasks and subsequently better plan my working day.

Cons: Reporting is skeletal. If you want to go in detail about the stuff - you will need something else.

Overall: TMetric is good barebones time tracker for those who just need to have this little fleeting thing under control. It is good for those who only getting into the whole time tracking thing.

Pros: It is a great link between the time I spent and the reports generated for the same. It has Trello plug-in and the billing estimates are perfectly made for us. It has great integration with third party applications. Everyone loves the ease of use it provides. The autocomplete feature is also good in Tmetrics.

Cons: The wrong learnings by autocomplete are not helpful. The merging of tasks into single task can be better.

Overall: It keeps us organised and we can keep track of small things like how much time is spent on current project. On the basis of same we were able to analyze how we can enhance our productivity.

Overall: I use TMetric as a timekeeping method in Asana. I do this by using chrome with tmetric's extention, when I start chrome up it opens Asana, Tmetric and my cloud drive.

It is the first time timekeeping software actually seems to work for me. It's simple and effective. The relative low amount of features (that I use and actually see) is a plus for me. The goal is to keep time on my projects and tasks. Editing is also pretty easy. Adding new tasks that I have done in the past is easy on the same day, but a few more steps on different day. That could use some improvement.

Recommendations to other buyers: Make it easier to add a tast on yesterday (less clicks, less thinking please).

Pros: Browser extension that works seamlessly with Asana workflow manager. You just can't get any better than that!

Cons: Would love to be able to select a day for adding time manually all in one place. Perhaps you could add a dropdown calendar from the "add time manually" button?

Overall: TMetric is FANTASTIC! This software has solved a lot of problems for our company. Our Virtual Assistant team uses this product to keep track of every task we take on. While we no longer bill our clients hourly, we still feel it's important to know what's going on internally. Thanks to TMetric, we can do just that!

Pros: It helps me keep track of how much time I'm allocating to each client. It helps maintain strong time management skills across multiple projects and makes billing easier.

Cons: I wish it was easier to update the tasks (prompted every 30 minutes) without having to stop tracking and then starting tracking again. It should be easier to just edit the task/project per client/project.

Pros: Integration with Jira and Trello. Easy to use, set up teams in minutes. Time tracking made very easy!

Cons: I couldn't find an app for iPhone.

Overall: As an outsourcing company with a growing team at Intellabridge.com we needed flexibility and low cost with integration into Jira and Trello. Tmetric was the obvious solution. Because of the ease of use and ability to add browser extensions for Jira and Trello it makes it much easier to track time and invoice clients. I would highly recommend this product!

Pros: Like the 8 hour green red function on the summary reports

Cons: not mobile friendly making it hard to use on the job

Overall: We have been using TMetrics now for almost half a year and its been a solid service to use in our business. We area able to help track team members hours and see how they are progressing.

Some areas of improvement would be having Admins the same ability to start and stop times in a team. Not very mobile friendly mainly for desktop use or iPad.

Pros: I like and enjoy the reports because are very detailed, for example I can see the statistics of my partners when we worked in many subtask of a big activity and I can know when we spend longer than estimated.

Overall: Perfect integration with Jira. Easy to use. simple. I am really happy that i found this piece of software. There are a few improvements that i could imagine, like create/mark multiple timeslots on one day with shift and update all Descriptions, but other than that i am really happy. Especially because you don't need to add a jira plugin I use it locally to track my own time to update the issues. I would suggest it to anyone.

Pros: The way it track the working time

Cons: It has no android app

It has single hour rate for one project. I need more specific rates, for example based on labes.

Overall: I am freelancer and I used TMetric to control billing time on several concurrent projects I was working for. I found it more convenient to track all task in one ease of use system than do it in different environments of my customers. Especially when every customer has it own rates for bugs, incoming features and planned user stories. It was very helpful that weeks when I was committing in two software releases of two different teams at once. Thanks god I did not work so hard any more.

I use only free version so have nothing to say about "Value for money". It saved a lot of my time when I could generate reports to bill my customers in a few seconds.

Recommendations to other buyers: It is convenient way to track you working time, when you constantly switch projects during the day. If you has different rates inside one project - use Project-UserStory, Project-BugFix, Project-IncomingFeature approach.

Overall: I used TMetric with my remote team and it did a great job of time tracking. We spent less time of time tracking and more time with programming. I recommend TMetric for everyone who wanted a simple and feature-rich time tracker without a need to buy it and read many tutorials of how to use it.

Recommendations to other buyers: Try TMetric in your project and you will see for yourself how it greatly reduces time tracking issues and increases your productivity. All this for a zero cost.

Pros: Ease of use, many kinds of reports, Project capability, easy time editing. good-looking aesthetically, integrations with Asana and other softwares .. for a start.

Cons: I really don't have any complaints about the software.

Overall: I've been using TMetric for over four months and I cannot imagine life without it. Editing your time is effortless. The Projects field allows you to pull reports for time clocked on individual projects, which is super useful. Team Summary reports are also something I use consistently. Best of all, TMetric is smart by recognizing when you've left the timer running, and by being able to easily jive with other apps. As an Asana user, it is way too simple to have the TMetric "Start Timer" with each individual task, and TMetric automatically grabbing the Asana Project and correlating it with the TMetric project. Saves me so much time and hassle! I couldn't recommend TMetric enough.

Recommendations to other buyers: You won't regret using TMetric. It will make your life easier!

Pros: As a photographer time management is very important in my profession. Tmetric helps me to manage all my project and deliver them timely. Most of my projects are based on fixed fees, and there is a new option to charge if set fee par project. It solves a problem with non-billable projects and helps me to keep an eye on my earning.

I must appreciate the reporting because it helps me to get an estimated time for my task.

An Android application helps me to keep an eye on my ongoing project without any PC. Cross-platform capabilities help me to work efficiently. Now I am more organised than ever.

Cons: I didn't understand how the tags work. Searching with tags but it didn't work for me. A more in-depth search would be a better implication.

Pros: Simple and reporting is easy to use for billing purposes.

Cons: Manual time entry not as easy as using the timer. It adjusts entries unwittingly if you make mistakes.

Overall: As an independant contractor, I've used time tracking tools over many years. TMetric is my latest of at least 6 months now. TMetric definitely is not the most feature rich, but it feels like they did it without compromising core needs, similar to how Apple simplified smartphones. I recommend it. They are also responsive to feature enhancements as well.

Pros: I was surprised by how simple it integrates with trello. Just install the Chrome browser extension and it starts working with trello. The time is also minimalistic and the app doesn't need to be always online which is less diversion.

It does the job tracking the time and showing the report of how my time was spent on trello.

I didn't show any abnormality when I was testing this app. As always I was in a hurry and forgot to stop the timer and it logs over 24 hours of continuous working. At least I can change the start and the end time from the "time" tabs.

Cons: I can't import the trello project. I have to do it manually. As trello has API why not use it?

Overall: The standalone TMetric is a great time tracking for projects. But with trello, it is really good.

Pros: Filtering of the stuff.

Cons: The filtering design. It can be more user friendly.

Overall: I am working in Development company and we are using this tool as work tracking tool. So far, it is nice for using, but our company is growing, so it begins to be a little mess.

Recommendations to other buyers: It is great, but again, the design can be little bit more user friendly.

Overall: A little over 6 months ago, i decided to quit my full time Senior Marketing Manager job and dedicate all my energy to my business. Being the Type A personality human being that i am, i needed to make sure that everything about my business was as clear, documented and precised as it could be. After months (i'm not kidding) of searching for the right tool, i bumped across TMETRIC and i could not be more excited. The ability to create clients with their fees, projects and even pull out REPORTS! I mostly use the app through the Firefox plugin and it's become part of my daily routine. New task? Turn on the timer. Done? Turn it off; and so forth.

Since then, i have recommended the app to at least 4 people; which i know are currently using it.

Several colleagues have mentioned that they were not this organized when they started their businesses and that i have so much data and control of what i do!

Pros: I like this tool very much. We use this in our organisation for project management and evaluate the time we spend on all the activities of our projects.The interface is very simple not so fancy looking but for this price its a great software.

Cons: I don't think i have anything negative to say about this product. One of the best project management tool for this price.

Pros: - Chrome Extension means that you can track tasks without changing windows with an integrated icon on your nav bar.

- Flags an error if you leave it running overnight

- You get a visual timeline for your day so you can spot if you have forgotten to track any time.

- Integrates with our project manage software, Asana - +++ - LOVE

- Reporting function gives concise reports/pie charts - easy to read data.

Cons: - We've been using the software about 5 months & there have been around 7 days within that where the system has gone down & is unusable.

Pros: Clean and fast interface. easy to navigate and most functions that could think of are there.

Overall: Previously I was tracking the time spent for my free lancing via typing in the time in a sticky note. I then calculate the total time spent at the end of each month and then sending an invoice over to the client. But with TMetric, I saved efforts of tracking and calculating time each month. All I had to do now was just to click on a start button on either the chrome extension or the website and it will auto tallies up the amount of time spent so that I don't have to risk of charging short to my clients. It is also good for track time spent on different sector of the projects by different team members/ employees so that the time spent of certain task could be justified without accusing of not being effective worker.

Recommendations to other buyers: Could intro the invoicing generating function.

Pros: - Is simple and easy to use; -Has Integrations with project manegers; -Have clear interface and simple layouts; -Track team activities per day and week; -You can print to pdf your timer; -Control over time Entry and Breaks; -Desktop app can track time on browsing; -Reminder on tasks left unpaused; Tmetric was the missing piece in our team. And it is so easy to getting used to, that we can't imagine working without it anymore.

Cons: This is hard, I don't think I have anything to dislike right now. Maybe a "autopause" feature, or a alert when you go on a task further then your work time. But it's not essential to the tool.

Pros: Signup is very easy and no hassle to set it up with trello. It is a simple time tracking application which has a lot of bonus feature to see. I started creating a project and adding todos, it is really not the way but I need to check my time. The reporting is nice and easy. I must say I am impressed with the timeline.

The desktop application gives me convenient to work offline but still track my time.

Adding manual time to the backlog is smooth and fast.

Cons: Not really. everything workes fine for me and manual time adding is work without any trouble. The UI is old school but I like retro looks so it is fine for me.

Pros: I am not that organised and need a tool to manage my work and time. I love simple software that just work. Tmetric solves a lot of my problem. Colaborating with client helps me to be same page all along the projects. Managing multiple project under one app is a grate feature. It solves lots of my problems very smartly.

Cons: I don't like the UI and it takes some time to load. For time tracking software updateing time is ~5 min +/-. Which is somewhat aqurate.

Overall: Love the project wise time management and client collaboration tool. I found it is very easy to manage time and projects. The client can see what is been done on the project so both will be on the same page.

Cons: My manager says its reporting and managerial features could be better for instance, it's hard for him to edit my time records.

Overall: ... if I'd had the time. It just gets out of my way until the times when I'd actually like it to intervene, at which point it graciously intervenes. For instance, if I've left my timer running overnight (happens all the time) it tells me so, and gives me a nice little form to help me fix the time record. And if I've been away from my computer for half an hour (perhaps at a client meeting) I return to find it asking me whether I want to keep that time. Simple yes/no dialog. TMetric have got so many things right when it comes to user experience.

Pros: I used TMetric on my Chrome browser to track time spent on my freelance projects. It's easy to use, and I love that it integrates with Asana to keep track of time spent on specific tasks. I'm not great at remembering to turn it off, but that's user error. I do like that it lets me divide my time out into tasks and get reports when I am ready to invoice someone or just see where my time has gone.

Cons: It doesn't always stay logged in like my other Chrome plugins do, which can be annoying. But it's just one extra step to reconnect it.

Overall: Great tool for tracking time on projects and specific tasks.

Pros: I love the reminder of the app if I'm going to do something. Self-control and discipline are crucial if you wish to track how much time a task take you to be done.
