Pros: The ability to share files via the cloud is awesome. We love being able to share files with only certain people.

Cons: You apparently can't have more than one "master" admin. The owner of the company needs to be able to hand it off to me sometimes and cannot. He wants to continue to be the master admin but that requires me logging into his account to add new users or share certain folders, since even as an admin, in a folder I have access to, some folders have it locked so I cannot share. It's maddening.

Pros: Using BOX is so extremely easy daily with 2 different businesses. It's a great place to store files and let people inside and outside company access them. BOX will also sync with Outlook which is a great feature. Being able to access these files from anywhere is important. Box integrates with a variety of CRM's and allows easy "drag and drop" features.

Pros: Pretty simple solution for storing files and allowing for some collaboration. It's very simple and intuitive, so no learning curve. You can do everything fast and efficiently.

Cons: There are not a lot of bells and whistles. Not sure that a lot of features and additional capabilities are needed for something like this, but might be nice if it had some additional capabilities. Nothing specific comes to mind though, so this is minor.

Cons: Software sometimes can be not reliable. Downloading software and and uploading can sometimes slow pc and can be a memory hogger.

Pros: How easy it is to sync files and keep track of who is making edits to files. I like that even if you 'delete' something Box holds onto it for a bit just in case it was in error. Which is helpful when a lot of people are using the same files.

Cons: Occasionally something will glitch with syncing where it will try to sync the entire contents of my company's box to my computer which obviously causes my computer to crash because it can't hold everything. It is rather frustrating to fix those situations - but it's only happened twice and for the most part no issues.

Pros: I like that it allows my team to create as many folders as necessary. We're able to build an easy to use structure for housing all of our marketing collateral and content, which makes it easy to share with our sales team. It makes for great collaboration and alignment! It's also easy to control versions, which ensures our sales team has the latest and greatest content!

Cons: It's not as easy to make updates to content directly in Box, which requires my team to make updates and then re-add the updated content.

It has helped us optimize sales in the organization.

Pros: It took me a few weeks to get the hang of using Box in the most efficient way, however I do now really enjoy its different features. The features in particular that I find enhances the tool include the ability to rename documents within Box, the ability to download a document from Box, make edits, then automatically save the edits to Box (thus avoiding an unnecessary "file upload" step), and the flexibility in sharing access to folders/files as well as limiting certain elements to only approved users.

Cons: In the projects I work on, I'm forced to use two different Box accounts that require two different sign-ons. I wish there were an easier way for me to toggle between these accounts, rather than stopping to sign out of one account and needing to go through the process of signing into the other account.

Pros: I have been using Box for several years to keep the entirety of my Documents folder in the cloud so that I can access the same files from any machine (including my mobile devices). Once set up, it works seamlessly. It's also easy to share files with other Box users and collaborate on projects where keeping track of various files is a must.

Cons: The Mac file sync app can be a little clunky to set up at first. I wish there was a better way to customize the root folder for your Box sync.

Overall: Having my files with me all the time is incredibly convenient and I wouldn't know what to do if I had to go back to the old way of doing things (keeping copies with me, using VPNs to access, etc.)

Pros: Box is a cloud based storage platform that allows rapid sharing of documents across many decentralized users. The desktop client is my primary access point, which is a handy feature to have.

Cons: All in all, Box fulfills what it sets out to do. However, it doesn't do so efficiently. I routinely battle with incomplete syncs, numerous badge notifications (that I can't tie back to a new/edited document), and difficulty in renaming and moving files within folders.

Overall: Box allows my company to securely send documents to the cloud for instant access to all decentralized users.

Pros: The security structure is great and very flexible. You can create various structures for all sorts of use cases.

The integrations are also great. With so many partners from Microsoft to Google, we are able to create new ways to stitch our software together. Shoutout to HelloFax for being awesome!

Box Notes has been amazing as well. Everyone has users using GDocs, even if you're not officially using it in your organization. This has effectively replaced at least the Document component. We have a group of users that cannot get enough of Box Notes.

The new UI plus the training materials are great. Way better than most other competitors. As is the support. They are happy to help in any way possible. We've been recommending Box to other non-profits as a great solution to replacing the outdated File Server.

Cons: The inability to share individual documents to non-registered users for editing. This is probably the #1 driver for some of our users wanting to use GDrive or OneDrive.

Overall: We managed to get more information out to other staff members who were unable to access the old Physical File Server that was located in one specific office. The level of collaboration between teams and offices has increased immensely since the implementation. Our adoption rate and daily usage are some of the highest, compared to some of our other tools.

Pros: Box seamlessly integrates with our other tools and our agency takes advantage of this on a daily basis. Pros: The Box web app is quite intuitive making it easier for the new users and to learn it quickly. The security provided with this tool is great too.

Cons: It is often a little difficult to navigate large files. If the list of folders saved in the tool is too long then finding the right folder can get a bit tidious. Besides that it¿s a great tool and I have been using it for several years.

I have had multiple users comment on how easy/slick the product is.

Pros: Dealing with CAD drawings and other large files on a daily basis, Box makes it extremely simple to share major files with the rest of the team. Selecting who views and downloads from each folder makes file sharing very helpful.

Cons: I receive email notifications telling me when a file has been downloaded by someone, however, the email doesn't tell me WHO downloaded it - it only says that 'someone' has. It'd be helpful to know who has taken the file.

Comments: Over the several years I have used the product I have only had 1 experience with support that was frustrating. However, Box was great to follow up consistently until my issue was resolved. They ensured I was happy with the outcome and listened to my feedback.

Pros: Box is the best solution for business. The product offers easy administration and security. Box also offers Box Drive and Box Sync which make the end user experience simple and easy to use. Comments: We switched from a local server to Box to house all of our company files. Box is used by our whole team--half on PC and half on Mac--with no issues. We have a local version on our files that syncs to our online Box account every few minutes. It has been a great solution for us. We have a lot of files/data but Box seems to be able to handle it well!

Pros: Box allows you to operate from your computer's local hard drive and it works well with our team. We can access from anywhere and we don't have to worry about a physical server.

Cons: We did have to buy computers with larger storage capabilities in order to have our box files stored locally. Sometimes there are issues with syncing.

Pros: Extremely easy to use and organize all of your important documents. The app is also convenient for "on the go" access to work documents. You are also able to have it link to your documents on your desktop. This allows you to get to your documents without actually having to access the website.

Cons: The only thing that would be a con about this product is that sometimes I have to restart my computer in order to open excel or PDF documents, but that does not happen often.

Pros: Box enables users to collaborate on all types of files, on any device and choose where to store data, to manage encryption keys and set metadata-driven workflows to automate content-based processes. Box has integrations with Microsoft Office 365, Google Apps for Work, Salesforce, Adobe and many other solutions. Box is a content layer for collaboration offering integration across all digital tools with open APIs. Easy to use. Fast and responsive apps. Rich with features. Very well designed for collaboration. Generous free storage allotment

Cons: Not quite as rich in features as a full-scale, Web-based, collaborative office suite with storage service. Cap on the maximum file size is an irritant. Ideally it should not have existed in any of the paid plans.

Pros: Box saved the day when one of our users was hit by ransomeware; even though the files in the local Box sync'ed folder were encrypted (which lead to the cloud-version also being encrypted), we were able to log into Box on our browser to go to the admin console to mass delete files. Then, by going into the trash can, we were able to bulk restore earlier versions of the file (before they were encrypted).

Cons: Pricing tends to favor larger organizations compared to other, more consumer-targeted cloud storage apps. I find the UI and ease of use/setup is also a little better on the consumer oriented apps like Dropbox and Drive.

Pros: We have almost never had any glitches, malfunctions, bugs, etc. while using Box. It has been exceptionally reliable from day one.
User interface is very easy to use - you don't have to go digging to find functions. The buttons that are needed can be found on the left side of the screen, or the top-right. Easy beans!
The layout is cozy, and it has just enough personality to be fun, but stay professional.

Cons: There are very few things we don't like. I haven't had any issues with the product myself. Customer support has been helpful, despite being unimpressed at our first interaction with them.
There aren't many flashy-features to the product, but I'm still able to integrate it with DocuSign and other applications. No complaints here.

Overall: Retired legacy network storage. Configured to allow storage of sensitive data. Company is great to work with and support is world class.

Pros: I've only been using this product in the last month, but it is fantastic. It grants an easy, cloud-based storage program and does not clutter up my computer';s memory. Even better? I can share things as a group and make access very easy for my team.

Overall: This has allowed us to move away from storing things on a specific drive, where..should something happened....all would be lost. But this is an external storage, cloud-based!

Pros: I enjoy the granularity of admin settings. Things like permissions and notifications have to be managed by an admin, and I believe Box provides everything an admin would need.

Cons: To get the enterprise features, it is a little costly for a small business, but it is worth it. Other than that, it meets all of my expectations.

Overall: Access to all of my files anywhere and the interfaces are designed very well.

Comments: If you are looking to share downloadable content with your clientele, Box is a great software for you. If you are hoping to additionally use it to store internal documents, you will find that another software might be the solution.

Pros: Box generates easy to use links that allow you to share documents with clients. You can set up i-frames on your site with your documents. Affordable CMS system.

Cons: Some of the links seem not to work in older browsers. (Some of our clients aren't tech savvy) You will probably want a separate system for internal documents (I still prefer Dropbox and Google Drive for Internal Documents)

Pros: This is the best online storage software I have used so far. Its Box application for mac is the best and really easy to use for managing and organizing files.

Cons: I wish I didn't have to exit Box and then re-enter the application again on my mac everyday so the Box files can be updated. Also, there are certain files that cannot be viewed or moved on the desktop application.

Pros: Box allows us to store all relevant team documents in one cloud-based platform, giving all team members quick access to all files from anywhere in the world. It's easy to store documents in here, which is a pro. I have used a lot of programs that are a lot more difficult to upload files in, and I like Box because of that. I also like the way that you can share files with other people and that you can edit documents with Box because of Microsot Office, it's something that's really helpful. I love the look of the interface and how easy it is to set up personal and shared folders. The search feature has been enhanced recently and was greatly improved from what it was before.

Cons: I have found that some of the features are not as intuitive as I would like. Again I would say that I am being a bit nit picky here as the learning curve is easy to overcome. It is way too easy to accidentally delete or edit files. There is also no editing history, like Google Drive has. Also, sometimes I am unable to open files-- I would have to refresh or restart the entire browser to open something. Also for some formats there is no preview option(video) which sometimes could come in handy.

Pros: It scales up quite nicely, reason why big enterprises (like mine) use it.
Hipaa compliant, which is a big deal.
It allows for sharing folders, which is nice and not all the competitors have it.

Cons: Not so reliable on keeping track of file versions across several machines. Reason why personally I stopped using it. I sync 7 machines and too many times I lost valuable work for such issues.
Security is great, but not the ultimate. Other (more expensive) competitors offer greater security on the cryptography keys management. Google "Box breaches"
Customer support is very responsive, which doesn't necessarily means they will fix your issues.

Pros: I love its integration with Canvas. It is the best file sharing/storage service that integrates with Canvas. We have Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive integrated with our instance of Canvas as all, and Box stands head and shoulders above those. The security is top-notch and the ease of use is great. Users can access their box content through their Canvas profile page. Teachers can enable Box use at the course level, and share Box content directly in an assignment or information page. The Box preview window is amazing as well. It allows you to preview pretty much any file type. It also has a new Microsoft Office plugin that allows you to work on a file locally on your machine and save it directly to your Box account without storing the file on your machine and syncing it.

Cons: Box doesn't allow its sync tool to be used on beta OS environments like a beta version of macOS. It kind of sucks having to wait for the general release of an operating system just because you're dependent on a file-storage service.

Overall: Integration with Canvas is a huge benefit. Box's security is probably the best for its intended use. Box is also very simple to use. I love how the sync tool just works seamlessly in the background.

Pros: It continues to gain our support as its capabilities keep improving. The Box platform is becoming more of an all-inclusive solution to current workflows that require too many third party modules needed to reach task/project completion. Box strives to become the best way to achieve frictionless workflow and it keeps building upon that to offer solutions to every facet of the business enterprise.

Cons: The user interface is a little vanilla. Comment(s) functionality needs to have more capabilities. Large file/folder hierarchies are hard to navigate online, users must get comfortable with using the search function. Maximum file size at each price-level should be higher or all the same.

Overall: Making a solid use case study that increases efficiency by utilizing the workflow functions and collaboration Box provides.

Pros: I appreciate the easy-to-use interface that I've begun to like even more than Dropbox (which I'd used for years prior to getting a Box account. The most appealing feature is being able to store PHI in a HIPAA compliant, easy-to-access-from-anywhere account.

Cons: The software takes a little while to boot up when you are accessing from an internet browser. Additionally, because my university has many different versions of Box, you have to specify each time which branch of the university you work with (School of Medicine, general, Children's Hospital, etc.).

Overall: Ability to store HIPAA compliant data in a method that is easy to access from anywhere.

Pros: I use the free version and have individually shared folders for each of my customers. Everything is saved in a dedicated file structure, which I have set up as a folder template. The automatic versioning each time a file is changed and saved is an excellent feature, which allows me to keep track of changes made by the customer. I particularly like Box Sync, which keeps my desktop up to date with all of the latest documentation added.

Cons: Given that I am using the free version, I feel that there are no cons. A great piece of software. I feel that the pricing structure could possibly have a small business type tariff for the one man band like me. If it was cheaper, I would probably upgrade.

Overall: Central repository for everything. No more searching around, scratching head, wondering where you saved something. At a glance check for latest version number. Sharing facility excellent.

Pros: I love how simple this software is to use. I had to begin using it as a new employee having never seen it before. It only took a few days before I felt like an experienced user. We deal with healthcare patients, and privacy and security are our top priority. This sofware provides a safe networking environment where we can discuss patient information in a HIPPA compliant way. I use Box for everything, and I have never had it crash. The information I need to access is always available.
We frequently use the @ feature to signal when another person is mentioned in a task or comment, this allows for quick communication between departments that are sates away. The task feature allows you to set a "due date" which is extremely helpful when we are dealing with time sensitive issues.

Cons: Some of the document views are difficult to maneuver. For example, when there is a comment you wish to delete from a document, the toggle is not visible until you hover over comment name. I would rather have everything visible than to have to discover them by accident.

Overall: Quick communication between departments that allow for expedited patient care. The software is easy to use and functions quickly. This software is HIPPA compliant, which allows for a safe environment for us to deal with patient records.

Pros: Box makes it very easy to work from your desktop or from the web, whichever is easier for you. Syncing to the desktop is much faster than Google Drive or Dropbox. It is easy to share files or folders with people outside of the organization, while still keeping the rest of your team's files secure and private. The API integrations are very robust and easy (especially using Zapier).

Cons: We occasionally have issues where one very large folder will accidentally be dragged into another large folder. Resyncing all of the files in the correct location causes Box to slow down quite a bit and interrupts our company's workflows. I've talked to Box several times about this, but it still hasn't been fixed. Supposedly it's on the dev road map.

Cons: For bigger companies, it's easy to get bogged down by all the folders out there. Bookmarking folders can be handy, but not when you have dozens to deal with. Previewing documents within Box doesn't always display the desired results, so it's almost always better to download and view them.

Overall: The ease of storing documents and files in a secure location that can be accessed anywhere and be cross-platform.

Comments: It does the trick in terms of basic features such as saving documents on the cloud, but my organisation is looking to switch it out due to frequent crashes and poor syncing of updates in real time.

Pros: Simple enough with folder layout on desktop.

Cons: doesn't sync well between different users' folders, resulting in delayed and unsafe sharing of work via email. Crashes on occasion.

Recommendations to other buyers: Allow real time updates similar to google drive, make syncing more effective and dialogue box offline more user-friendly

I began utilizing Box to integrate with a practice management software.

Pros: Extremely easy to set-up. Once installed, it automatically syncs with selected files on my hard drive. I haven't had to think about it again.

Cons: I suppose if I had to find something I didn't like, is that every time I access through my practice management software, I have to constantly sign in for security purposes. While it's probably a good thing, it's still annoying.

Pros: Great features, easy to transfer files. Box sync is fantastic!

Cons: A little bit expensive, but worth it.

Recommendations to other buyers: Use box sync! Also, set aside a lot of time to upload all your files, especially if you have a lot of images or videos.

Comments: This was used as part of our enterprise projects and did an excellent job at securely managing our file repositories across all devices and users. Professional and clean to use

Pros: Box made it easy enough to add external client users and also great administration ability to keep internal info secure.

Cons: IBM box has not been of great help on my mobile. I have an Android device and think it has a better feel on iOS

Recommendations to other buyers: Box is perfect for managing file repositories in large projects. Be sure to keep a eye on the admin functionality as it is possible to leave files open for public use

Pros: The benefits of Box is that all documents are uploaded in real time. I use Box all day every day and it helps us keep track of all our projects and offers the best solution in team collaboration.

Cons: I find that there are times where documents will not sync if multiple users are in the folder. This can make it a bit difficult at times.

Overall: It helps us keep track of all our projects and offers the best solution in team collaboration.

Pros: Love being able to sync it via the Desktop on my Mac. So easy to drag and drop. It also provides an easy way to add and delete folders through Finder.

Cons: One minor issue - with one of the latest updates it takes an extra step to get a download link to share. No big issue, just takes a second longer.

Pros: All software versions (desktop application, web client, smartphone client software) have simple and clean design. Working with this software is very simple with a fast response and data transfer. File sharing is simple and is working perfectly.

Cons: Design and user interface can be done slightly better, more customization options are needed. storage capacity didn't increased as some competitors did, relatively small capacity for a cloud drive today (10 Gb only on start).

Overall: 1. As a part of small team that use some collaborative on-line solution, there was a problem of file-sharing, as using e-mail was becoming problematic (different versions, duplicates, change-log, etc). Using simple file sharing we solved that problem.
2. Smartphone backup - works perfectly.
3. PC backup - works perfectly.

Pros: File sharing both internally and externally is simple and streamlined. There are a wide rage of integrations with other core products like O365, Google, Slack and others.

Cons: I do wish that the co-admin policies were a bit more intuitive. It can sometimes be a but hard to tell what exactly you are giving them full access to if you folder structure is not well managed at the organizational level.

Overall: Ease of use for my staff and my co-admins. It is easy to share files both internally and externally and there are tons of features and integrations that help make my staff more productive.

Pros: The product itself is easy to learn and intuitive. Box University was INVALUABLE when developing training materials for our organization. Our staff also enjoy the plug-ins that make it even easier to work from the cloud.

Cons: We've needed to contact customer support only a few times, but each of these experiences have been painful. I suspect we would get a better level of support if we had more seats

Overall: We use this as the tool for document management. It supports a number of our key business processes, and we rely heavily on the Salesforce integration.

Box is best product to balance security/availability/access/collaboration that I've used.

Pros: The biggest benefit for our use of Box has been enabling users to wherever they would like; no VPN, no extra cert-authentication, etc. just download the app or go to the web.

Cons: If your workload is not part of the existing integrations then you will need to put a decent amount of work in to get the two apps synced up. Another challenge is user de-provisioning and content transition.

Pros: Easy to setup and navigate as well as collaborate with others. Lots of great features, such as setting expirations on shared files, password protection, and upload via email.

Cons: Customer support can be hard to reach unless you're on a higher up plan. When there's an outage or a bug, you need to subscribe to email updates or check their Twitter. There is no phone support for the basic paid plan.

Overall: Security, peace of mind, easy collaboration with clients.

Comments: While DropBox seems to dominate the cloud storage space, Box is a much cleaner experience and allows you to easily filter by date, something DB for some reason could not.

Pros: Love the ease of use and overall look to the product. You can easily make folders and sub-folders to organize your uploads and make links shareable to those in your company or anyone with the link for ultimate privacy.

Cons: The default to share links is "People in you company" which has made me have to re-send links multiple times to client, but that's on me. Wish there was a way to make "Share with anyone with a link" the default here.
