We collect all the comments for materials and work on them together before we reach an agreement, and the document is accepted. Box helps keep all the history of comments and changes, and it also helps avoid the situation where someone has the wrong or outdated version of the article for review. " April 9, 2026 5.0 Overall, Box has provided me with solutions in more than one case, that have made me look good. Box integration into Salesforce is one of the best features. With the ability to auto create folders based on record creation, it simplifies so many processes. Pros Box is hands down the most robust document management solution in existence! It integrates with some of the most powerful tools out there like Salesforce. The ability to have collaboration similar to Microsoft or Google, is crucial. Especially when integrated with other tools. It is very intuitive and easy to use. Support is top tier and always has a solution. Cons Honestly, nothing. This application has yet to show me any signs of faults. While it can be cumbersome to setup with integrations, it still is superior. Now every file that was previously physically filed in the filing cabinets downstairs are all dumped in Box. Instead of searching through filing cabinets I can now find a keyword and view all documents associated with that keyword. Pros Box is acceptable I suppose since the AI search has been able to interpret my messy handwriting without freaking out. I thought the automatic workflows would fail or crash but they did manage to send the correct bills to the appropriate parties. Cons Getting our legacy SQL data into Box migration process was a complete nightmare and neither on-boarding staff informed us of how painful this would be. Way too expensive. Director Financial Services Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Stay away from these crooks" July 25, 2025 1.0 I tried to reduce the number of seats we are charged for with their online tool and they charged for double the number of seats. After a week, the only response to multiple inquiries is "You have to call on the phone," but their site provides no phone number. But I'm not offended: they also refuse to respond to the credit card company and the Better Business Bureau. Either Box is terribly managed or they actually care more about a few thousand dollars than about their reputation as corporate pirates. This company has deteriorated in the last few years and now Dropbox is far better. Pros It works well as long as you don't have a security breach and need support. If you try contacting them, they are resistant and angry, which on top of ignorance is hard to take. Cons TERRIBLE customer service. Huge overcharges that they refuse to even acknowledge much less credit back. NEVER give this company a credit card. Review Source SN Shawn N. Admin time for opening new user accounts has decreased by approximately 40% thanks to Box. The customer support is excellent. Pros Box has been working and storing all of my files as well as sorting them via the folder templates automatically. I was also concerned about integrating with DocuSign causing us to lose control of our network but thankfully that did not occur either. We are currently able to store over 20TB of data in Box. As an added bonus, since the conference room has been double booked and the other group is literally going to kick me out of here in the next few minutes, I will be able to complete this review very quickly. You may set-up automation rules based upon client types. Sometimes the OCR does read the text. Cons Since the desktop companion app freezes so frequently, I have to close/reopen it each time I attempt to scan a document using the local office scanner. In addition, loading large video files takes too long. If you forget to enter even one metadata tag, the file disappears completely due to the fact that search is extremely strict/unforgiving. Web interface is easy to use and navigate and the desktop app syncs and works well within File Explorer or Finder. Its great when collaborating with external users because you can either give them access to a folder with granular permissions or you can generate a link for them to upload files to only. Reporting is good as well as you can report on all user and file/folder activity (for both internal and external users). It can be on the pricier side especially if you want some of the more advanced features such as a Shield or Goverance or Retention Policies. Pros The ability to send an "upload" only link to someone is a great feature when working with external people. It allows them to upload their files without being able to view or access the original folder or see what other people may have uploaded. The folder structuring is pretty standard compared to other platforms but Box does a really good job with granular collaboration permissions from the parent folder and down. Configuring organization wide settings is easy to setup as well. UI is modern, clean, and easy to navigate. Cons Box is a little on the pricier side when compared to other platforms and some of the more advanced features are hidden behind an additional license/add-on. There is no native "team/shared folder" feature. If you need to create a team/shared folder, it has to be created within someone's individual account. You essentially need to start off with creating a service account user and then creating all your team/shared folders within that service account. Easily integrating with Azure Data Factory for data ingestion, which makes it a good candidate for being part of Data Science - Data Analytics stack. Some potential sync issues, depending on which side you create first a folder - local machine or on Box website - but probably fixed with the latest updates. Pros An optimal choice for cloud storage, the one stop place for collaborating on various documentation (including versioning). While I'm using Box both within the organization, and also for personal usage, I find it suitable and easy to use for document management, for accessing older versions when needed, and for syncing with local Box Drive. Money-wise is a good choice for a company, allowing also easy integration with other tools, e.g. creating pipelines in Azure Data Factory for ingesting data stored in Box automatically. Cons For personal usage, I find the free plan a bit restrictive (compared to Google Drive for instance). Important when it comes to sensitive data, it allows us to filter out questionable files. In order to improve communication and project an image of professionalism, we have improved access control so that each user can keep their own files and share them with potential customers. While the price of Box isn’t the cheapest, robust security features, streamlined collaboration and automated workflows more than make up for it. Pros I had no problems navigating the interface, our whole group adapted immediately; no extensive training was necessary. Its use was totally simple that Box, so much so that one of my co-workers, who often struggles with new platforms, manages to upload and classify his documents without help. We were able to move and organize all our records in a matter of days. Now everything is in one central location, making it much easier to collaborate than when files were spread across multiple platforms. We couldn’t have done it without Box. It helped us stay organized, get the information we needed quickly and integrate with the technologies we use every day. Cons This isn't a persistent problem; having a strong internet connection is essential for Box's functionality.
