### "Not Sure About Box"

April 27, 2026

3.0

It's very mixed. On one hand, it's easy to share files across teams and collaborate. On the other, the limitations of this platform can really cut into our ability to be more creative and productive. I wish they had a better solution for creative teams, especially video teams. However, if you're just looking for a document sharing system (or not large files or a high volume of files), this should be fine.

Pros

Box is a decent file storage program that allows for ease of access to files on the cloud. It has helped with team collaboration and productivity, especially in terms of storing, organizing, and sharing video files.

Cons

Box has upload speed and file size limitations that make it very cumbersome to upload large video files. Uploads time out or have errors and require starting over. There's also no system in Box to help with organizing files. I wish they would implement an AI system, like Hey Eddie, that can scan files, describe them, group them into folders, and tag them so they're easy to find and search for. It's very difficult to do that manually all the time, especially when working on a small team that works on 24 events a year. The manual time it takes to sort things correctly in Box cuts into our productivity,

### "Best Document Management Solution. "

April 9, 2026

5.0

Overall, Box has provided me with solutions in more than one case, that have made me look good. Box integration into Salesforce is one of the best features. With the ability to auto create folders based on record creation, it simplifies so many processes.

Pros

Box is hands down the most robust document management solution in existence! It integrates with some of the most powerful tools out there like Salesforce. The ability to have collaboration similar to Microsoft or Google, is crucial. Especially when integrated with other tools. It is very intuitive and easy to use. Support is top tier and always has a solution.

Cons

Honestly, nothing. This application has yet to show me any signs of faults. While it can be cumbersome to setup with integrations, it still is superior.

### "Secure, Reliable Document Management Built for Enterprise"

April 23, 2026

5.0

My overall experience with Box was reliable and professional, particularly in environments where security, compliance, and document control are priorities. Box performed very well as a centralized document management and collaboration platform. It provided strong confidence that files were stored securely, with clear version history, access controls, and auditability. Sharing documents—both internally and with external parties—was straightforward, and the ability to manage permissions at a granular level was especially valuable when working with sensitive or confidential information. Collaboration features such as file previews, comments, and real‑time editing worked smoothly and reduced the need to download documents or rely on multiple versions. Integration with Microsoft 365 was a notable strength, allowing documents to be edited and co‑authored efficiently while remaining within Box’s secure environment. That said, the experience sometimes felt heavy for everyday use. The interface can feel busy, especially for users who only need basic file storage and sharing. Performance occasionally slowed when working with large folders or many files, and offline access was less intuitive than native desktop file systems. From an administrative perspective, managing settings and permissions required careful oversight, which added complexity. Overall, I found Box to be a strong, enterprise‑grade solution that excels in security and governance. While it may feel overbuilt for simple file sharing needs, it delivers significant value for organizations that require structured document management, compliance, and controlled collaboration.

Pros

What I liked most about Box was its strong focus on secure, enterprise‑grade file storage and collaboration, combined with ease of use. In particular: Robust security and compliance – Box excels at protecting sensitive information with granular permission controls, encryption, and compliance features, making it especially well‑suited for organizations handling confidential documents. Easy, intuitive file sharing – Sharing files and folders—internally or externally—is simple and user‑friendly, with clear control over access levels and expiration settings. Strong collaboration features – Real‑time comments, version history, and file previews made collaboration straightforward without needing to download files. Excellent Microsoft integration – Seamless integration with tools like Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook) made it easy to edit and collaborate on documents without leaving Box. Centralized document management – Box did a great job of keeping documents organized and accessible, reducing version confusion and scattered file storage. Overall, what stood out most was Box’s ability to balance security with usability. It felt reliable and professional while still being easy for users to collaborate efficiently—particularly valuable for teams or organizations with strict data protection requirements.

Cons

What I liked least about Box was that, while it’s very strong on security and compliance, it can sometimes feel heavy and less flexible for everyday use. In particular: Interface can feel cluttered – With many enterprise features layered in, the user experience isn’t always as clean or intuitive as some lighter file‑sharing tools. Performance with large folders – Navigating or syncing folders with many large files could occasionally feel slow. Offline access limitations – Working with files offline wasn’t always as seamless, especially compared to native desktop file systems. Administrative complexity – Managing permissions, policies, and settings requires careful attention, which can be time‑consuming for administrators. Cost for advanced features – Pricing can add up, particularly when advanced security, collaboration, or compliance features are required. Overall, the main drawback was that Box sometimes felt overbuilt for simpler needs. It’s excellent for regulated or security‑focused environments, but for teams looking for speed and simplicity first, it can feel more complex than necessary.

### "Very good file storage & collaboration platform"

April 17, 2026

5.0

Box overall is a very good file storage and collaboration platform. Web interface is easy to use and navigate and the desktop app syncs and works well within File Explorer or Finder. Its great when collaborating with external users because you can either give them access to a folder with granular permissions or you can generate a link for them to upload files to only. Reporting is good as well as you can report on all user and file/folder activity (for both internal and external users). It can be on the pricier side especially if you want some of the more advanced features such as a Shield or Goverance or Retention Policies.

Pros

The ability to send an "upload" only link to someone is a great feature when working with external people. It allows them to upload their files without being able to view or access the original folder or see what other people may have uploaded. The folder structuring is pretty standard compared to other platforms but Box does a really good job with granular collaboration permissions from the parent folder and down. Configuring organization wide settings is easy to setup as well. UI is modern, clean, and easy to navigate.

Cons

Box is a little on the pricier side when compared to other platforms and some of the more advanced features are hidden behind an additional license/add-on. There is no native "team/shared folder" feature. If you need to create a team/shared folder, it has to be created within someone's individual account. You essentially need to start off with creating a service account user and then creating all your team/shared folders within that service account.

### "Handy instrument for content collaboration"

April 22, 2026

4.0

As an editor, I work with articles from multiple authors and collaborate in a box with authors, medical reviewers, and other stakeholders. We collect all the comments for materials and work on them together before we reach an agreement, and the document is accepted. Box helps keep all the history of comments and changes, and it also helps avoid the situation where someone has the wrong or outdated version of the article for review.

Pros

It is easy to collaborate on documents. I can leave comments or propose changes in the text - it is very handy for articles and other documents, because we have a lot of people involved in the content creation and coordination.

Cons

The interface might be confusing for less technically sophisticated people. I had to create a video tutorial on commenting because some colleagues couldn't figure out how to open the document and leave their notes.

### "Box Is Much More Than Cloud Storage; It's A Comprehensive Content Cloud and Collaboration Platform. "

September 2, 2025

5.0

If you need a secure, reliable, and powerful platform to empower your team's collaboration, Box is absolutely worth the investment.

Pros

I have never experienced significant downtime with Box. Their infrastructure is rock-solid. They also offer robust compliance certifications like HIPAA, GDPR, and FedRAMP, which is crucial for large enterprises. It is also a suitable platform for task organisation, templates and customization. It is an easy to use platform. It is fantastic for document management.

Cons

Box is not the cheapest option on the market. Its pricing is squarely aimed at businesses and enterprises. For individual users or very small teams, solutions like Google Drive or Dropbox may be more cost-effective, though they lack many of Box's advanced features.

### "Great utility for Orgs and advanced users"

March 19, 2026

The use of their Box Drive app on both macOS and PC is pretty great. The CLI performance with RClone is awesome. Their support is pretty responsive, and we're able to deploy across our org with minimal downtime.

Pros

Easy to connect/integrate with multiple other services and allows for CLI with RClone that allows you to import entire companies directly via terminal.

Cons

15GB limit and the need for splitting apart larger files can be difficult at times, but it's easily solved with some minor terminal commands. Box really doesn't have any serious drawbacks and seems to have all the features any other service would

### "Excellent collaborative tool"

November 24, 2025

5.0

A good tool for storing documents and sharing them with people in the company. Easily integrating with Azure Data Factory for data ingestion, which makes it a good candidate for being part of Data Science - Data Analytics stack. Some potential sync issues, depending on which side you create first a folder - local machine or on Box website - but probably fixed with the latest updates.

Pros

An optimal choice for cloud storage, the one stop place for collaborating on various documentation (including versioning). While I'm using Box both within the organization, and also for personal usage, I find it suitable and easy to use for document management, for accessing older versions when needed, and for syncing with local Box Drive. Money-wise is a good choice for a company, allowing also easy integration with other tools, e.g. creating pipelines in Azure Data Factory for ingesting data stored in Box automatically.

Cons

For personal usage, I find the free plan a bit restrictive (compared to Google Drive for instance). For the company usage, I find that sync is not always as transparent as it should, or has certain delays

### "Seamless and Efficient Cloud Collaboration"

March 9, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with Box has been positive. It’s a reliable and secure platform for file storage and collaboration, though the cost and occasional slow syncing can be minor inconveniences

Pros

I liked how easy Box (cloud content management) makes it to store, organize, and securely share files with others. Its simple interface and strong collaboration features make managing documents and working with teams very convenient.

Cons

There isn't too much of a downside for my company personally, but their pricing can be high for smaller teams, and occasionally the upload and syncing speeds feel slower compared to some competitors.

### "Buon prodotto"

April 9, 2026

4.0

Pros

### "Works wonderfully for uploading any size file to the cloud"

March 15, 2025

4.0

All members of our company, as well as any other party involved, could view and make changes to the document in real time. We no longer have problems with outdated versions or delays in the approval of any document. File sharing with Box has made it easier to distribute large documents without sacrificing security. Important when it comes to sensitive data, it allows us to filter out questionable files. In order to improve communication and project an image of professionalism, we have improved access control so that each user can keep their own files and share them with potential customers. While the price of Box isn’t the cheapest, robust security features, streamlined collaboration and automated workflows more than make up for it.

Pros

I had no problems navigating the interface, our whole group adapted immediately; no extensive training was necessary. Its use was totally simple that Box, so much so that one of my co-workers, who often struggles with new platforms, manages to upload and classify his documents without help. We were able to move and organize all our records in a matter of days. Now everything is in one central location, making it much easier to collaborate than when files were spread across multiple platforms. We couldn’t have done it without Box. It helped us stay organized, get the information we needed quickly and integrate with the technologies we use every day.

Cons

This isn't a persistent problem; having a strong internet connection is essential for Box's functionality. Aside from that, I don't have any big problems because the platform is really user-friendly and straightforward.

### "A useful file-sharing platform"

March 16, 2025

5.0

I am quite satisfied with Box for sharing files with colleagues and as a backup.

Pros

Box is very useful when you like to share files with colleagues. It keeps all versions so that you can go back to earlier edits. Text and spreadsheet files can also be edited online directly. One can also uploaded files from local computers.

Cons

When multiple users make changes to the same file simultaneously, conflict will arise and Box handles these conflicts by saving each user's changes separately to avoid overwriting. This can be confusing sometimes. There is an option to lock a file but then if a user forgets to unlock it, then the file cannot be updated by others.

### "Sharing made easy"

It is a great tool to use, it helps with sharing files, and have your colleagues collaborate from any part of the world.

Pros

It is very easy to use, has very little setup to move around. The app allows you to store and share files with ease, this makes collaborating with your team easy across whatever platforms you use. I used the free version, it does offer more storage for different pricing, but it is very accessible.

Cons

It can be confusing to use on the first try, it does have a learning curve, but once you get it, it is very useful.

### "Easy, Powerful, and Fantastic for Metadata"

February 6, 2025

Box was incredibly simple to setup, incredibly easy to manage. The UI was fabulous. Admin backend and user management was so easy. I highly highly rate them.

Pros

Box was super easy to use for our Marketing team, we loved the data structure and that we could tag our digital assets with metadata very easily for locating items. We loved how easy it was to share with outside vendors as well.

Cons

Honestly, there wasn't much to dislike about Box. The only reason we moved away from it was that the entire rest of the organization was using Sharepoint which we have to pay for any ways and the Marketing team had stopped applying the metadata to new files which was the main reason we went with Box. If we weren't a Microsoft org, we would have stayed with Box.
