February 22, 2021 4.0 I feel safe, more organized about my documents. It allow easy access from anywhere which saves lot if time and its integration which CRM make our content management more disciplined. Pros User access, allowing different access to different users adding additional security. We can upload all format files including audio and video. Cons I find it to be priced high compared to other tools while evaluating. However, this is a complete too which meets all our business needs. November 4, 2021 5.0 Really enjoy this tool, I use it all the time with my ongoing projects at work. You can store a lot on here which is also great! Highly recommend! Pros Really enjoy the ease of uploading files and sharing it amongst other people. This allows for easy collaboration with large groups of people for ongoing projects and allows you to also open the file in the browser to update which immediately uploads the updated version. I only need to store all my files and work document on the folder in the cloud storage, and then it can be access form anywhere as long i have my account details. Cons One of the things that i like least with Box is, the price scheme is quite high for the premium account, and to expanding the storage size. The dashboard interface is quite old and not a user-friendly as i find it confusing when i am first time using the software. Pros The Box is dependable and great for businesses.The clouds storage is excellent tool for this file system. Free trial period. Cons This is not very affordable for home, but great for businesses. I don't believe in my time using Box I have ever had a "panic moment" where something was lost or suddenly disappeared -- something that I can't say about every file management system I've ever participated in. Pros I really like the ease and speed of box sync. It takes very little effort and very few steps to access a file, edit it, and save it back to the server. Effectively, you rarely interact with the website or the client at all. It's just like you're accessing and saving files on your desktop, but they get synced back to the server automatically. A huge lifesaver is that it lets you access old versions of your files even after you've saved over them. Cons Integration with email software would be an excellent feature. It's possible that this exists by now, but information about it and ease of use is scant. I'd love to be able to easily add and organize documents that come in as email attachments. Good way to store and back up documents. Never had any huge issues with it. Pros It was very easy to share document with other box users. The user interface was straight forward and easily understandable. Box provided a good way to back up documents and free up space on your computer. Cons The way that box was configured to work with word and excel online was not ideal. It kept asking me to download the software for it, then getting an error. The online version were also extremely limited in what they could do and would sometimes make the formatting look weird. I never used it, and always had to download the file, use it in the word or excel application, then re-upload a new version so that I had all of the capabilities and formatting options. I have yet to run into that problem with Box at work and can easily organize all my files. It's been a positive experience to use this program and it I will continue to use it in the future! Pros I think the best feature about Box is the collaboration. Especially with working from home through Covid, it's been so easy to share design files with the rest of my agency. I also think the box note feature is a great asset, it makes sharing ideas and brainstorming from afar easier. Cons I think the only thing I would say can be frustrating is the lack of preview ability with certain programs. I pretty much always use Illustrator, Photoshop & InDesign which aren't compatible with preview. So not being able to make sure I'm downloading the right file can be frustrating. We use this ALL the time. Any questions? Look on Box. Pros Box is honestly one of the greatest organizational tools out there. I use Box several times a day for all of my documents. Box has all major servers (Word, Excel, Notes, ect.) and you can upload anything to it! It also updates with real time and allows several viewers/editors at a time. This has been a MUST during executive meetings. We can also upload any music, video or picture files to share, which is essential for our industry. The ability to make several folders and organize data well is the key to using Box. I have almost transitioned out of using Google Docs completely. Cons Honestly, the only issue I have with box is sometimes there are loading issues when working on a file with the desktop. Also I can't find a way to delete old files that have been shared with another person that I don't want anymore. " February 19, 2019 2.0 We use Box.com for file storage with our CRM. It seems to work pretty well with Microsoft products but, it does not work very well with our professional level G Suite although it is advertised to do so. There are two specific problems that have not been resolved. First, the older version of the Word documents that end in ".doc" in which are stored on box.com cannot be opened with Google docs (it only works for the newer version of Microsoft products that and in ".docx"). It becomes a huge issue if you are trying to avoid duplicating costs and using Microsoft office suite and also using G suite. It's unfortunate because they say it does work but it does not. What is really unfortunate is that their tech support is very superficial and does not take the time to read the detailed descriptions that are provided of the problem and so they don't understand it. It's like they're moving too fast to the next issue that they're supposed to solve so they don't want to dig into it and solve it. They keep trying to get me to use their box edit/tools for Microsoft which requires 365 subscriptions (on top of their subscription and on top of the G suite subscription). I truly wish they would focus and fix this issue. If they got G suite to work with ".docx", they should be able to get it to work with ".doc" Pros It is very nice that they offer unlimited space on their drives. I think that there pretty close to having a good product but they need to get it to integrate with Google products better. Cons Customer support is not a priority for them. It's a great tool to collaborate with small or large groups. Our team can manage multiple projects at once and it all stays organized and up-to-date. There's always one reliable access point, so re-sharing an updated document is not necessary. It's like our point of truth! Pros Box is a secure way to store, manage, and update documents in an organized fashion. Single users or multiple users can easily access the software and make updates that others can see in real-time. The ability to organize folders/documents and find them is very good. And several times, being brought on as consultants means we have to migrate unto the storage service of the core agency. Box allows me to do this with very little hassle. Mass migrating my files, sending documents to other team members, and maintaining an audit trail of files access are all features that make Box a very wonderful product. Pros I no longer have to worry about forgetting to manually back up my work and personal files on an external hard drive. With Box, all my documents and files are automatically backed up and can be easily accessed on all my multiple devices. So many cloud storage providers were here today and gone tomorrow, but box stood the test of time. They have recently up-scaled their game by providing integrated services for corporations, meaning that they have affordable solutions so that organizations can use them elusively for all of their online storage needs. The support is fast and professional and the product is competitive enough to give other providers a real run for their money. Anyone would be hard pressed to find a better service at a better price right now. Pros Been around for a while to know they are not going to disappear overnight 10GB of free storage, where dropbox only gives 2GB Premium plan is very competitive and cheaper than others They have more premium options to suit everyone's need Very robust and well integrated with many apps and services out there Cons Nothing really, except that they might want to revisit their starting model and provide a little more storage and a slightly better price for premium packages. The Microsoft plugins allow you to edit a file either on your desktop or in Microsoft Online (though it breaks our formatting sometimes, so be careful!). Share links are easy to generate, even for users who don't have access to the company Box folders. Keep in mind that an administrator should be in charge of keeping the files in Box manageable and organized as well, as it can get out of control with tens or hundreds of people adding and organizing files. Cons Box Sync / Box Drive are not perfect - often we end up with duplicates of documents because two people opened them at the same time, or there was some issue with syncing that duplicated the documents on both ends, then was unable to reconcile them when syncing caught up. Also, while the admins can see some user activity, they can't see deleted items, which would actually be a useful thing for us to be able to see. The application has a very good upload speed and making the upload time for a large file size went smoothly, unlike some of the cloud storing software that only priorities the download speed only. Cons The file permission settings management is not properly construct, making the first experience of sharing my files to other is very confusing and bad.
