Pros The features that I like most about Box are the storage features, and the file sharing features. The storage is reliable and safely stored. Cons The thing that I least like is the cost of the premium Box subscription. I continue to use the free version of Box but with limited features. Pros It is really good to co-author since Box is embedded with the Word function. In addition, it automatically saves all the versions of a document. This function is so helpful if I need to check back my previous deleted content. Cons The speed of sync is really slow even under my university's wi-fi. In addition, you have to download multiple software for using the embedded Word. It will be great if they just combine all the files that are needed to download into one file. I can access my files wherever I am without worrying about syncing issues. And Box works great ClickUp which is an added bonus! Pros I used to use Google Drive but switched over to Box. This software syncs across my devices with such ease. For whatever reason, I would always have issues with files and folders syncing across Google Drive. Either it would take forever or it never synced. Box syncs instantaneously. I also like how I can create notes within the Box browser and attach it to specific files and/or documents. It also seems more secure than Google Drive since Google uses one password for all of their applications. Cons Honestly, I haven't found any issues with this software as of today. If it wasn't for Google and Amazon, I believe they would be #1 in this market. Pros I used Box.com since the early days when it was in competition with DriveHQ. Even back then it always felt like a polished gem of a website, and I am please to say it hasn't gone downhill like so many others. It offers all the things you'd expect from a cloud storage platform and so much more. Cons This market is already taken by giants such as Google and Amazon, so I don't know if Box.com will be a viable long-term storage strategy. The user interface is nice and I probably use the Box Drive on my desktop more often than the web version, which has so many features. Cons I would love to see faster syncing between Mac and PC. I now completely rely on box to store my data on the cloud. Pros the product is easy to use, for sure. Also, the cloud storage and data sharing is very helpful on box. Helps me keep my data safe and share files easily. Cons After uploading the files, the files don't get updated automatically, which sometimes becomes an issue. Also, while sharing the files with someone else, they need to be signed up to box app and install the app only to access the material well, otherwise the UI is very difficult to access for them. I do subscribe to Dropbox, merely because of its ubiquity in the industry, but I highly recommend testing out Box first. It may be the right fit for you. Pros Box offers a clean interface, with most of the same features as its main competitor. The dash of blue is a welcome change from Dropbox's bland oasis of whiteness. Box is also a little cheaper than Dropbox. Cons Dropbox's web UX feels a tiny bit snappier than Box. But you can sync to your desktop and bypass the web interface entirely. August 15, 2018 5.0 I feel bit secure as i can set passwords and expiration dates if I am sending files to the third party or any client. I can preview files without downloading them. I can share files and folders with my clients and colleagues by setting the permissions so they can only see it. Pros I can set my plans and timings according to files. Price isn’t that much high and moreover I can save data up to 10GB for free. It also offers me the business and enterprise plans where I can save data up to the limit of 2TB. I can edit my files by downloading them and upload them back. Cons The user limit of this cloud is major flaw the limit starts from 3 and ends up to 10 people. By giving small price I can’t enjoy the features which are facilitated to higher priced plans. As compared to other cloud services this cloud service provide you less amount of storage which I can get more in other cloud company. I wish we still used SharePoint, though, as it had more features that we need. Pros You can share and collaborate with others in your organization, and invite outside collaborators into files, or whole folders. Each file has a direct link that you can send in an email or IM Version history for documents allows for you to look back at earlier copies in case of errors Multiple people can edit the same document at one time Cons The document links do not correspond to folder hierarchy, rather they are a random string of characters. This means you cannot see the folder structure from the link. Co-editing Excel sheets may lead to errors or corrupted files Web links are often identified by outside collaborators' email firewall as "unsafe" and emails are not delivered "Locking" for editing is only regularly possible from the web version. If you use the one in Windows Explorer, you will likely be unable to "lock" the document Some documents are randomly deleted or duplicated when glitches occur If editing online, documents are re-saved often and the "version history" only goes back a few minutes.
