December 9, 2021 5.0 I love Box. I would recommend it to any large business that needs a "Cloud" based service to share documents within their company or even outside their company. Pros What I love most about Box is its ease of use. I lead a large team that is remote and across the United States and continuously update documents and supporting material. Box allows me to easily update all documents and supporting material for the team to always use, and essentially created a "hub" for them to always refer back to. February 25, 2021 5.0 I love being able to access my files (and others' files) from anywhere. I feel safe with my files being stored on Box. Pros Box is so easy to use. One of my favorite features is Box Notes. Being able to collaborate easily on meeting notes in real-time and then save it in a place everyone has access to is great. Cons The only thing I have had a little trouble with is sharing a folder with an external collaborator. I have had multiple people come back with confusion on how they are supposed to gain access. It has saved my bacon a few times and to be honest it's my backup against being hacked and my data ransomed. Pros Box has been great for us for years. It's mainly a backup tool but has saved us many times. We try to back everything up once a week. I also really like the mobile app. In the beginning I was using it all the time to transfer stuff back and forth to and from my phone and computer. Cons The only thing I really don't like about Box is the limitation of the file size for transfer. I know I might be petty but it can be an inconvenience when we have large files. It gives you a lot of flexibility to share documents with various permissions, which is useful when you find yourself collaborating with people inside and outside of the organization. I also like Box Drive, which allows you access to all your files in the cloud without having to sync them onto your local drive, saving you tons of space. That makes it so you can't access your files while your offline, but they recently made it so you can pick and choose which files/folders to make available while your offline -- a very useful feature Cons Even when I disable the 217 character file path setting on my computer, I still can't open documents if their file path is too long. It just works perfectly fine for me and it does occupy a lot of capacity unlike other apps like it. That is when I got introduced to Box. Their product quality and security are as good as Dropbox. We never had a security breach or lost a file, and since we offer content marketing services, the number of files we upload and download monthly is too many. Pros The speed to download and upload every single file Cons It is not as good as Dropbox, but if you are starting your business and want to save a good amount of money it is an ideal choice. Nowadays we utilize Box over Dropbox, but at first, we had to go with Box and we don't regret it. Box definitely has an amazing service quality. Pros I like the work area programming and in this way the best part that it saves the records disconnected. Just wish I’d found them earlier and not wasted time with Googles incredibly buggy Drive product and Dropbox’s ridiculously priced product. Pros Before trying Box.com I tried both market leaders... Google Drive was cheap but horrendously buggy, when you’re logged into multiple gmail accounts it gets horribly confused and won’t let you access/edit/download your own files. I found workarounds for this like using an Incognito window or Firefox to access my files but it felt clunky and buggy. Dropbox didn’t have any of those issues, it was perfect but for a business plan for multiple staff members they charge crazy prices. Way too expensive. Box.com had none of the issues of Google drive, all of the functionality of Dropbox and charged a very reasonable price for it. Best of both worlds and in my opinion they should be the market leader. Cons Nothing. Literally have zero issues with it. After using their competitors box.com is a breath of fresh air in every sense. It is a secure way to have a backup of all our clients. It has also been useful for us to finalize contracts remotely with its electronic signature and document capture function. This tool is the best for securely storing all customer and company data in general. With the document capture function, we have been able to upload to the cloud information of documents that we only had on paper, which allowed us to digitize our information. I recommend it 100%. Pros Although it has many functions, it has a very friendly interface that allows access to each tool without problems, making it easy to navigate. Uploading and downloading documents is done quickly and it has a document classification system, which manages to have everything very well organized. Cons The fact that it can not be used without internet connection is a major limitation, which slows us down in the work, if they could put the option to use offline and then make progress or uploads when you have connection, it would save time. Pros It is very easy to use Box to share files with patrons of our Archives. They do not need to have a Box account themselves for us to share a link with them. I also like that you can set an expiration date/auto delete for folders so you don't have to actively maintain them. Cons Most of what I do not like is reflective of my own institution's implementation of Box. We have to sign in through our provider (the university), but the university gives multiple ID numbers if you are both a student and an employee (as I am). So, I constantly have to sign in and out of two different Box accounts, which is inconvenient. Review Source Ana A.
