It makes you work efficiently. Pros Box easily syncs with your OS. It's extremely helpful when you really want to share files with teammates or other employees in general. It is one of the absolute best places to store documents. Cons Box is great overall but the search option is a bit teadious. Pros It's easy to download files, has separate folders and shared with others, has a way to recover deleted items, is safe to store files and has enough memory to carry heavy documents. Cons It's just that when someone creates a folder and doesn't put a person as an editor, if he puts a wrong file, he can't exclude only those who are authorized to delete files. November 13, 2018 5.0 Pros Many of us have to work in cross-platform environments, and still have to have access to our files -- regardless of the device we're using. Box is another great utility to have in the arsenal if you have to work in these kinds of diverse platform environments. Whether I'm on Windows, Mac OS, Android, or iOS; I always have access to the files I need. With integrations with many different solutions, Box helps me stay agile and organized. Cons So far, I don't have any meaningful complaints with the Box service or Box Sync software. Updates across all devices have gone through without any issues and I very rarely, if at all, have issues syncing files when needed. It’s especially great for all my photos that don’t fit on my phone. The mobile app lets me access everything on the go, which is perfect when traveling for work! Pros Box is a great deal as it allows for a lot of free storage. Items can sync automatically from my computer to my Box cloud. It’s also an efficient file system to share files around the office because it doesn’t require people to have a box account to view and download files Cons Collaborative folders can be tedious to keep organized and uploaders often have trouble navigating the files, deleting files, and downloading files. The collaboration aspects could be simplified more to ease use. When we entered into an agreement with Microsoft for O365 services, our divisions moved their users to OneDrive in order to avoid paying twice for essentially the same services. We still have a footprint of users in Box, mainly for collaboration with other companies. I personally find the Box experience better than OneDrive. Pros Ease of use, integration with Active Directory, audit trail, collaboration with other companies, admin console/reporting Cons SSO cannot be undone, and there is no mechanism for preventing the creation of a new user. We have to prune inactive user accounts each quarter to stay in licensing compliance. It offers an intuitive UI that people who use PC are already very familiar with. Even though it is not as flashy as some of the other filesharing and collaborative applications out there, it is very reliable and it is something that I have used for years to coordinate sharing of large files with collaborators around the globe. Pros This was the software that we started with for simple filesharing, and though we use others for collaborative work, Box is still our go-to for reliable storage and access to files that we share with our collaborators across the country and internationally. We enjoy the basic version control features, which, while a bit more limited than that of other companies, are also easy to use especially for people who are not familiar with the concept of the cloud. It is the only application out of many that we tried which offered great reliability, meaning that files were accessible from anywhere, and where there were no issues with permissions or accessibility of files for a variety of users. Cons It lacks some of the flashy UI that many other applications of this kind have; however, many of the users that I have encountered are actually more comfortable with the simple layout. Additionally, when dealing with slow internet connections, sometimes this will be detected as a dropped connection, and the file will have to be re-downloaded for editing. Pros The interface is intuitive and extremely easy to use. It's super easy to organize all your content and files into folders or sub-folders. Operations such as copying/deleting/moving are all easy to do and accessible. Selectively sharing folders and files with clients is also easy. You can generate a custom shareable link, or simply add a guests' email to the folder to allow them to collaborate (edit/add files). Users are able to access the file from any location as long as the user has internet connection. I believe that developers could make software improvements. Pros The product has nice usability features. I can use the sharing options available and the software allows team collaboration. I like the software setting; I can easily adjust the setting. Cons I actually do not like the security features. The software fails to send notification to the user when there is suspected breach. I suggest improvement in security features. Secondly, I do not recommend to use the software in older model computers. There are anticipated glitches when users access the software in older model computers. Lastly, I do not suggest document sharing feature with multiple users who work in different teams. The sharing process could cause confusion when certain users do not have the access to the software. Not so reliable on keeping track of file versions across several machines" November 1, 2017 3.0 Pros It scales up quite nicely, reason why big enterprises (like mine) use it. Hipaa compliant, which is a big deal. It allows for sharing folders, which is nice and not all the competitors have it. Cons Not so reliable on keeping track of file versions across several machines. Reason why personally I stopped using it. I sync 7 machines and too many times I lost valuable work for such issues. Security is great, but not the ultimate. Other (more expensive) competitors offer greater security on the cryptography keys management. Google "Box breaches" Customer support is very responsive, which doesn't necessarily means they will fix your issues.
