One or two of the other reviews appear to be for a totally different company.I have the Free version of Box installed on my laptop plus the Android app, 10 GB and as soon as I added the phone app they gave me another 5 GB.I use them for transferring files between the two. No more messing about connecting them with a cable. Sync is fast and flawless.On pc it opens in Windows Explorer where I can happily create folders, copy and paste files, move or delete items, and so on. March 28, 2019 5.0 I love having access to a streamlined file management system like Box. Pros I love that I can easily access and share my files from computers, laptops, and cell phones. No matter where I am at when traveling, I can manage my important project files from any device. Box helps me collaborate with work colleagues in real-time. I'm able to get projects done quickly because I can share ideas with team members and clients all at once. The user interface is very clean and the overall design of the platform is very intuitive. This is useful in case something every happened to my computer. When I lost my website, I had all my blog posts backed up on Box. It was a lifesaver! Pros Even with my user account I have a significant amount of storage. I believe this is due to my length of time and frequency of use of this cloud storage. It's easy to use and organize. I love that you can share and grant rights to certain folders or files with anyone you choose. Cons The only con is uploading file size limitation. It would be nice if you could do lager files, like .wav or video. Reason for choosing Box Larger storage capacity on the free account. Pros Using Box has honestly made my office so much more collaborative and has almost completely eliminated confusion and miscommunication when it comes to shared files. With Box, it is easy to share, edit, and create files with almost anyone in my organization. Instead of having to share a file back and forth it is easy to just drop it in Box, and have 2 or more people collaborate on it on their own time. It has greatly decreased the amount of back and forth between coworkers and myself. Cons In the past, I have experienced some trouble with syncing files. These glitches are rare but annoying when they do happen. Pros The simple drag/drop mechanism and audit trail are both very helpful for us. The friendly user interface has also been refreshing as often these VDR tools are not as appealing visually. November 29, 2018 4.0 I only occupied a few months ago box and the experience has been very pleasant. Before I used dropbox and I liked it a lot, but box I find it more neat, more formal and I like that. The functions and the operation in general is quite similar in the basics, I upload files, I share the files, I can create different sessions so that more people can access a certain folder, and other functions. So until now I have been able to work very well with BOX and the whole process has been very simple. Pros 1.- There are a variety of options to choose from according to your needs. You can choose a personal account or a company account. 2.- Within the personal account you have the possibility to create a free account. This account has 10GB of space in the cloud, which is enough space to store thousands of documents, songs, photos and much more. 3.- the prices of the different accounts are quite good and they are within the market price. 4.- The work environment is simple and neat, which gives the impression of being very neat and clean. 5.- You can share your files easily through the link generated by box. You can also configure if this link will be for public or private use. 6.- The speed of upload and download of larger files (over 50mb) is quite fast, although it also depends on the connection you use. Cons 1\. - Like other similar programs, conflicts are created in the files if two or more people try to use the same file at the same time. 2.- there is an important difference between the gartis account and the payment account, since the paid accounts can transfer and unload large files (up to 5GB in the most expensive version, and 2GB in the cheapest), while in the free version is an important limitation, where you can only manipulate files up to 250mb. Also I didn't like that the accounts don't have a backup link associated to other email account, so if you lose your email access you don't have ways of re-accessing the box associated with the account meaning that you lose the files inside. Pros Box is easy to use between your own files, it's Multiplatform and it has way more security layers than competitors like Google Drive or Dropbox Cons Link sharing is not seamless, I don't trust these links when dealing with customers because they don't work on a 100% basis. Also it doesn't let you manage more than one account without logging out. Pros Box allowed me to have access to my work anywhere. I was able to work from home on days that I could not come into the office. The folders were in the order as they look on my computer and files were easy to find and access. Cons The files take a while to sync on the system we have here at work. So, if someone in the office saves something, I cannot immediately access it from my computer unless I go online and log in - this is a huge pain for me to do. The online look and feel is a bit different and I prefer to work from my computer. Would recommend to small-med businesses or people who have a large amount of files that need organizing. Pros It's efficient at what it does. It allows users to safeguard all their documents in one convenient hub. I used Box at work in the oil and gas industry and found it to be useful and fairly easy to use and understand. It's great for people with a lot of data, photos, and large files, as it holds a massive amount of data. The price is affordable and its definitely worth every penny! Cons The only thing I have to say that's negative about it is the user-interface in the online portion of the product. I found it to be laggy at times when I had just uploaded and synced a file to my PC Box account, and went online to check if the sync had worked. The user interface itself is fairly archaic and could use a facelift. I also found the online site to be more up to date if others on my team had uploaded files, I would usually see them come through right away online vs on the PC file explorer. It's one of the best collaboration products I've worked in. We were all able to work in the same file simultaneously as we brainstormed ideas together, and then save our note to a shared folder (that the client gave us vendors permission to access). Box keeps everything secure, and sharing files is simple. Unlike Samepage, which has more functionality but is a little too free-flowing, Box keeps files organized in the usual folder hierarchy we are used to working in. It keeps track of versions so you always know you are working in the right, most recent file. Changes are tracked and saved automatically. You can chat in a sidebar about a file and notify someone with @ mentions. Working in the consulting industry, I've used several products with different clients, and in my experience, Box is one of the best. The software developers thought of everything I wanted in file-sharing software. Pros Box makes it really easy to collaborate. You can work in the same files in real time, or you can edit a file, and updates are automatically saved and tracked. Cons Sometimes you want to work alone while fleshing out a first draft without the client being able to look over your shoulder. An invisibility or privacy switch to temporarily disable others' access would be a nice feature. I also sometimes wanted to be able to reorganize a folder or rename something, but as a vendor I didn't have permissions to do that. The client expected us to keep things organized, so we had to ask for those permissions, but after that we were able to do it.
