We're able to share large PowerPoint presentations with ease. We have a large team and are handling multiple projects with tight deadlines. We're able to collaborate successfully and stay abreast of our internal updates. Pros Box - where would I be if you didn't exist? Box makes it easy to send large files to your colleagues, clients, etc. with easy uploads and send capabilities. We love the access features where you can allow people to view, edit, be a co-owner, etc. It's also easy to make real-time edits that everyone can see. Compatibility with multiple platforms has allowed us to access our files from various locations and devices. Pros I love the new box drive feature that reduces local storage needs while still allowing me to see and access all my files easily. The default free storage option is much better that Dropbox (10gb vs 2gb. I was a super early adopter and got 50gb free for life, which is amazing). Cons The file size upload limit for 250mb has been the biggest downside, even if it was 500mb it would be better. 1gb would be best though. Ease of editing company-wide projects. Pros Cleaner, sleeker version of Dropbox. After using Dropbox at my previous company for years, BOX was a pleasant surprise. It's super intuitive - much cleaner and easier than using a company-wide "shared" drive as well. Being able to see the history of edits/revisions to uploads is excellent, as are the desktop versions of the platform (although the web version is also great). Cons Cost would be my only real complaint. That and the fact that it took a bit of time before they had solid desktop / app support. Mobile has always been great, but as of late the MAC and PC desktop versions are also great. It works really well with Microsoft and Google's software. It is also seems to be the most accessible online collaboration and storage software for people that use screen readers, etc. Cons Sometimes when you open a document online and accidentally close the window that you opened it from, and try to save it, it won't save. I use online collaboration feature to get my language translation works get done by freelance translators online. I need certain things to effectively translate to more than 22 languages around the world and I believe manual translation is more attractive than machine translation. So I hired people who are expert translators and upload my files through box for them to translate in real time and submit it to me. The best thing is, I will have 22 same files in one folder and shared among 22 people with seperate edit permissions that keeps the files safe. Cons It misses the drag and drop feature which is a big drawback. It doesn't integrate seamlessly with office applications everytime. Pros We have almost never had any glitches, malfunctions, bugs, etc. while using Box. It has been exceptionally reliable from day one. User interface is very easy to use - you don't have to go digging to find functions. The buttons that are needed can be found on the left side of the screen, or the top-right. Easy beans! The layout is cozy, and it has just enough personality to be fun, but stay professional. Cons There are very few things we don't like. I haven't had any issues with the product myself. Customer support has been helpful, despite being unimpressed at our first interaction with them. There aren't many flashy-features to the product, but I'm still able to integrate it with DocuSign and other applications. No complaints here. Review Source BD Ben D. In turn, they could then send the files back that were altered. This made it easier without needing all the foot traffic of external hard drives. Cons It tended to not be super intuitive and needed help for new users. That was just more of a minor annoyance. The mobile and desktops apps, including a ChromeOS app, for easy access across multiple devices. Box's storage options are competitively priced and rather inexpensive. Cons The service is consistent, I am yet to experience any down time or unresponsiveness. It's clear that Box's servers are well equipped to manage many connections consistently and without issue. The API help us integrate it with web applications. The webhooks help with real-time updates. Pros We get unlimited storage as part of the agreement and it has become a go-to software solution for any of our storage needs. Without any reservations, we use Box for any file storage and we don't have to worry about the size limitations anymore. That is one thing that we never have to worry about. Ever. Cons Their webhook integration, although good, is not very beginner-friendly. The only consistent way to use or access webhooks is via the command line. The GUI interface is almost useless. As more people move to remote work, this is a great tool to utilize. Pros Box is a great way to share resources with those inside and outside of your team. As a remote worker, my coworkers and I can use and access the same file. Instead of searching my email for a file or getting multiple emails with updates, you can refer to one place for the most current files. This is especially helpful when the form is in process but you want everyone to have access to the most current information. Cons My team uses Box A LOT! Unfortunately it becomes like a computer system and there are so many folders and it's hard to find what you want. It is a life saver for people who work in film or music. If you are looking for a place to store tons of footage and audio, look no further! Pros I am not the administrator or the purchaser of the Box account and have not used it for project management, but as a personal user I can say it is an excellent service that has met all of my needs. Some of the advanced features, like commenting and editing, have also been useful. But, in the end, it's a big box to throw your stuff into. The website is fast and responsive and I've had no issues of note with it in over five years of use. The mobile app is well-designed and works wonderfully. Cons There is nothing I dislike about it.
