Pros Box is probably one of my favorite software tools out there by far. I've used this everyday for over 3 years now and it works like a charm. You can store anything from any simple file, images, videos, etc. The ability to share links with people and have them enter passwords to access restricted content makes it valuable among your peers and co-workers. You can simply upload or drag and drop and determine who in your folder gets to have what type of permission sets such as restricting people to download but they can only view or perhaps upload. I recommend Box without a doubt. Cons No issues from me personally however I can see Box being more valuable for mid-large enterprises. Not sure if Box is most ideal for smaller organizations or for a company with less than 50 people but otherwise it does its just as intended. Review Source Nissanka J. Box is the best. Pros Box is one of the best cloud storage services available in the market. It lets me to create folders and sub- folders based on my requirement and store files neatly. And also Box allows me to share files with my colleagues with the relevant access levels such as viewer, editor, etc. Cons There is no improvement areas or my dislike areas in the Box so far. It is made in a user friendly way. Pros \- This product allows seamless access to shared folders without having to worry about constant logging in. We've had multiple other cloud based services all with varying amounts of issues, this was the only one that truly acted as if you were saving a document to your desktop Cons \- To be completely frank I can't think of a negative of using the software. It's great to create, edit, share, and backup or store in the same software. There are less passwords and accounts for everyone to remember and it was easy for everyone to adjust to or learn to use. Box is HIPAA compliant (after BAA signing), records are private and protected. Classification and access controls to add an extra layer of protection. I really like that my employees can work with myself or one another easily, even if working remotely. Files can be edited together and each user can add notes, we can even keep track of tasks. Box can be used with outside software like office suites. Cons There are times when Box is slow or stops working abruptly, this has happened to me personally more than three times while transferring files or trying to open files. I have also had files get distorted or changed when they should not have been, one of the files was a single copy and I couldn't recover it. Box would be better if there were some sort of simple chat or messaging, or even something like an announcement banner that could be changed daily. Review Source Ashutosh M. The sharing permissions are much more intuitive than Office 365. Pros This software is great for us to share files internally and externally. Our most common use case has been to collaborate on files - such as videos or large PDFs or spreadsheets - and to share them with external users. Cons Box is pretty expensive, especially for an organization that has Microsoft Office 365 already. While we have single sign on, the integrations with that vs OneDrive is messy. The unlimited storage version allows us to send large art files to our licensors with ease as well as leave comments on specific files. The ability to view multiple documents at once is very helpful! The interface as a whole is very organized and easy to navigate. You can favorite specific documents for quick viewing. Cons On occasion, the sync speed can be quite laggy and quit out. We work in a team that needs to share files and it would be impossible to maintain without a software like Box. Pros Box is a wonderful overlay to Windows Explorer to sync folders and documents across devices. This works both on a personal level for someone with more than one device or it can be used in a corporate setting to share files among team members. This software has been great for our collaboration and a stallworth in our team. Cons Box could improve how many products it offers. It is difficult to understand all the different product integrations they offer. The interface to download them has changed recently too and some are only available upon logging in. Also, Box does not support cloud upload of BAK files which can be important for some enterprises backing up databases. Review Source Alvaro M. If you value reliability and security, Box has not let us down in that aspect. Pros Easy and Intuitive to use. Has enough space allocation for my files and shared files of my team. Box is cloud-based so you are sure that your backups will survive even if your local device doesn't. I think the key thing about Box that made us decide to consider it is its focus on security and reliability. So far so good, no experience of downtimes or problems accessing the main site/servers. I also don't remember any security breaches with them. Cons This kind of cloud service has a lot of competitors with even more bundled extra services. Also, if you don’t want people editing files, you can change their permission settings so they can just view/download the documents you give them access to. Cons If I’m editing a PowerPoint on my desktop and want to save the latest version to box, it can take quite a few minutes to upload and save if the file has more than just a few slides. Pros Box was easy to use once set up, and made it easy for all remote employees to access the documents they needed, and to make sure they were accessing the most recent version.
