Cons I don't love the new update where you can't hold the Shift key and select multiple files/folders. Instead of e-mailing back and forth you can make edits and keep all documents up to date without the worry of revisions not being tracked. Cons Sometimes the connectivity goes out or it's various plug ins don't work. However, I would say the pros outweigh this and glitches are usually fixed in a timely manner. I've installed it in a bunch of other people's pcs and laptops because it's so handy. Pros The auto-updating across multiple PCs is invaluable Cons If the box decides to quit auto-updating, good luck figuring out why. Also it might quit updating without giving any notice. If your uploads are really important, you'll have to keep an eye on it. It has also helped me in school since our professor would share the box link to view the content from the lessons. Box is the best cloud storgae for businesses. Pros This is great cloud storage for an enterprise, it give the ability to share your documents easily either with a link or by specifying the users that can access the link. Its a great for remote groups given you can share, download and modify docuements securly. Box main focus is secuirty and it gives you the oportunity to share the content with peers and set permission on who can access the file. Box also gives the feature of setting expiration date and passwords on files you have shared. It also has an easy to use interface in order to create floders and add files. You can upload multiple files without getting any erros. You can use for free with up to 10 gb of free space and you can use with your phone and PC. Cons Since this software is more focused to buisness, the free account may not be that great as the enterprise plan. If you need more storgae you would have to pay for the extra GB, another downside you share a link to non box users they cannot make any modification to the docuement. The software is the next evolution of file explorer. The ability to create Box Notes within folders is a convenient complement to place any information relevant for a file or set of files. Cons Being a cloud based storage network, it can be slower than local files, which is a bit of a drawback for users that are constantly pulling files from different parts of the network. Box makes it easy access my files and documents wherever I am; a true on-demand application that's there when you need it. Pros Box is a very good cloud-based document storage application. It allows easy customization for file structures and has an excellent phone app, which gives it greater utility. Cons I have had limited success attempting text-searches in Box. This is a true limitation when you have thousands of files. I wouldn't want to go back after working with other competitors that have the online edit capability. Pros Free with office 365 integration. Great unlimited storage capacity on the cloud. Cons Searching for documents gets so difficult after a while. The whole purpose of having stuff on the cloud is negated. Pros Box is great for storing large files, especially if you want to share these files outside the company. it gives you the option to create and send a shareable link which is great. Cons I really didn't come across any issues when using this platform. Having the ability to track changes, share notes and onscreen editing between multiple people makes Box a solid workplace tool. I really like the enhancements in the last upgrade which simplified navigation of files and folders. The breadcrumbs are a great addition. July 29, 2022 5.0 I had an amazing experience using box cloud storage service. I was able to upload large and small file sizes at no cost. File management was very easy and overall the service is great compared to it's competitors. Pros Box gave me the most storage out of all other service providers. The service was very simple and easy to manage. Cons The only thing I disliked about box storage service was that it was slow at downloading files from it's server. Review Source JB John B. May 5, 2017 5.0 Pros I'm able to create or save a file of any type on any of my desktops, laptops or phones using MacOs, iOS, Android, and Windows and know it will be on every other device in a matter of minutes. So when I need to create something using a Windows machine and then paste it into something done better on a Mac, it's easy. I love that. Cons Occasionally but rarely, like 2 - 3 times a year, it will get confused about some subdirectory and I have to create a new one, move those files, let it sync again and delete the old now empty directory. That's no big deal, but when it happens and Box tells me it found x number of errors, again rarely, it doesn't tell me what directory it had a problem with. I have to guess at that. Sharing a secure file link is far safer than sharing the file itself of course. The link is controlled by the sender and easier to monitor. Backup from Box is reliable and sync is conducted on time as scheduled. Cons Box is a little expensive, and the file layout is stifling. I don't see the logic behind the organizational system. Chronological order is easier to work with. Pros BOX is great for sharing information and large files, creating backup of information on to a network. It can mirror working off your harddrive where team members can then have access to the information. Cons Modifying file names or moving files around could be improved upon to be made even easier when sharing with organizing files. Switched from [Microsoft SharePoint](https://www.capterra.com/p/1167/SharePoint/) I have not fully made the switch. I still use Sharepoint, just not to the degree I did before until we had BOX. Probably in time a full integration from Sharepoint may occur. Pros Box is a cloud based storage platform that allows rapid sharing of documents across many decentralized users. The desktop client is my primary access point, which is a handy feature to have. Cons All in all, Box fulfills what it sets out to do. However, it doesn't do so efficiently. I routinely battle with incomplete syncs, numerous badge notifications (that I can't tie back to a new/edited document), and difficulty in renaming and moving files within folders. I love the integration with MS Office online, which makes collaboration super easy. Cons The search functionality on Box is lacking and often returns lots of results. The filtering and advanced search helps, but still a little clunky.
