Great for collaborations among groups/teams. Cons I will say is that the box sync feature should have a method for preventing multiple users from working on the same file simultaneously. If one user is editing, the other should only be allowed to open it as a "read-only" file to avoid files being saved over each other (and subsequent work loss). In my opinion, its just a less good version of google docs, but there's nothing WRONG with it. Personally, I prefer to have a single google account and password that connects me to multiple services, rather than having a SEPARATE box account. Once you get it all set up, you can save it Box really quickly. It's nice having access to files wherever you are. Cons Collaboration is tough with Box. November 21, 2018 5.0 Not always I am able to travel with my own laptop but I need to keep working where ever I go so the fact that I can access and update it whenever I need it provide me a plus in my costumer service because my clients knows that it does not matter where I go , they will always will have the job done. Pros This was the first storage app that I used, for a some one with no experience in this kind of software is super friendly and easy to use, help me first with my personal files so I can have them all organized, rapid access anywhere I go since I travel a lot. Cons The storage capacity is a little lower than other app but for the volumen of information that I need to keep on hand is more than enought. Great concept and online design to share files Pros Great online storage and collaboration website to share files within different organizations. Cons There have been issues with gaining access with a shared link. If the original creator of the file does not include the email that is needed to share the person can’t gain access. They has been an issue with forwarded email links to share files. Pros Personal account is free. Business accounts cost money but have significantly more options. Used it for transferring big files. We are on unlimited storage to suit our needs, and it's been great. Cons Syncing can be a nightmare sometimes, and opening a document from the browser isn't always great. Pros I have used Box to store my personal documents and I like their UI. I can be able to access all my stored documents from anywhere and it sorts out my data by most recent. Pros I think the product is good, it helps us track who opens what and what files they move. It lets up add users and run some detailed reports. Good security measures as well. They also negotiate a lot. They cut our prices very low just to hook us, so don't take the pricing from the website. Cons Had to commit to 15 users, a few left and they will not let us remove them to lower the bill until the contract year is over. They don't return calls from billing or support. My account rep is totally useless, he does not provide billing support or tech support. I have been on hold with billing for 15 minutes and every minute the machine says my estimated hold time is 1 minute, for 15 minutes now. Working with them is very frustrating. I enjoy being able to make folders and sub-folders for different subjects and being able to share them within our company. Cons It is not easy to share documents to others outside your company. Pros Wonderful storage of documents, as well as live share drive access allowing multiple users of multiple organizations to share, edit, save files and collaborate. Pros I love that you can basically store an unlimited amount of data and share it with anyone who has the link. It makes sharing documents very easy and accessible from any internet accessible device. Cons I can't think of anything, honestly. It is responsive, quick, easy to sort, easy to navigate. i am impressed. I really like the upload features, which is quick and easy, also preview of documents shows me what I have uploaded, thats a cool feature. Overall I would highly recommend this feature. Pros Preview of documents shared easy to upload very fast upload highly consistent Cons Nothing so far that I have noticed, but sometimes I hear from my colleagues that it is down. Pros The software has a lot of functionality and options. You can share files with outside entities with limited access and various timeframes. The software keeps a good history and allows recovery of accidental deletions as well. A lot of very good options for use and sharing of information. Cons The syncing software is a little glitchy and sometimes syncing doesn't happen as quickly as you would like sometimes. No more searching around, scratching head, wondering where you saved something. At a glance check for latest version number. Sharing facility excellent. Pros I use the free version and have individually shared folders for each of my customers. Everything is saved in a dedicated file structure, which I have set up as a folder template. The automatic versioning each time a file is changed and saved is an excellent feature, which allows me to keep track of changes made by the customer. I particularly like Box Sync, which keeps my desktop up to date with all of the latest documentation added. Cons Given that I am using the free version, I feel that there are no cons. A great piece of software. I feel that the pricing structure could possibly have a small business type tariff for the one man band like me. If it was cheaper, I would probably upgrade. Cons Sometimes it is difficult to find things in box because it is the source of truth for everything but that is usually because of someone setting bad permissions. It's similar to using Google Suite where you can have people editing one document at the same time, etc. Pros This software does make it possible to have a company shared drive that is accessible at all times from people around the world. We had this system set up before the pandemic, and it made it quite easy to transition to working fully virtual for our employees. Cons The Box Drive program that you can download to your computer has had a lot of kinks for me. I stopped using it and just upload documents to the company Box account instead.
