Again, the level of privacy box gives users is very beneficial and having many people in Box and able to add to Box made it easy, especially in multi person research team. Pros The software was fairly user friendly and I would get notifications to my email when someone on my team would put something into Box. We would have different folders, similar to a google drive or a Dropbox, with files, pictures, questions and so on. It made it easy to put notes and comments onto certain things. As a research tool it was more secure than other websites that offer such services. Cons Although it was user friendly, there were still many features I had trouble figuring out. For example, simple things such as relabeling the name of a photo was hard at first. Once you get used to the software it’s much easier to navigate. Often I have to share large files with my adviser and team mates so the box always comes in handy. Pros This is a great software which allows you to store your files in the cloud, share them with people and even collaborate on projects. The mobile app is very useful, I can access my files from anywhere. I love their feature to sync my desktop files to the box. Cons Honestly, I can not think of anything bad about the box. Moreover, I am using it free as an ODU student so nothing to complain there. This platform is a solution for team environments working on projects in which multiple people are required to view shared files. With collaborative projects it is critical to have a mobile platform from which you can safely and securely share encrypted documents and files. It is also very useful that you can share encrypted data with your clients and they can also upload and download to and from the portal. Cons The only downside about Boxed.com is that some clients aren’t aware that the majority of information that is posted within Boxed is likely to be private/confidential. I have encountered instances where a client attempted to share a file outside of the platform. If it was easier to attach access controls to outside users that would be helpful. Basically, I can cover most of my basic needs (document storage) easily with Box. Pros Easy to share files online and store files offline. 10Gb for the personal use is very generous Cons Technically, the performance is not the best, compared to its competitor, (especially in terms of uploading files from a local drive) but that's not the big issue. It is easy to see who has shared what files and where they are located. Everyone I work with has had a great experience with Box and has made our work less reliant on Google Suite. We have never had problems with the software. Thank you Box! Pros Box is easy to use and I really enjoy the interface. It is easy to see which files are shared, updated, and who they are shared with. I also like how I can see the file formats with icons and I can easily see my recently accessed files. Overall, Box is great for a user who is looking for a simple way to manage and share files. At my University, we often use Box with professors to share important documents. We have never had any issues with this. I cannot recommend another file sharing platform like Box. Box you keep being you! Pros What I love about box is its ease of use. We have over 15 employees which all use box to share the files between all of us. It is very easy to learn how to use and for the cost you CANNOT beat it! Cons Well like any one, I hate having to pay for the software. But its not really a con because it really pays for itself. I can access all my information and files from anywhere in the world! This cloud service has proven to be much better storage than any physical flash drive or device. Pros The best thing I like about Box is security. I always can check if someone has access into my account simply via checkin login activity. Box also offers a very powerful and user friendly search, which allows finding the needed files in seconds. Cons I had some problems with finding a really good app for syncing Box with my Android. As for the rest of features, Box is really reliable software and I trust it. Pros I found the software to be excellent for backing up and sharing data and files between team members in a secure manner. Recently added functionality makes it easy to quickly open a file in the cloud on your local office applications. Cons Features like 'Box Sync' which sync local files with the cloud, can at times be buggy. I expect this to be cleared up soon. We are a 70% remote group and depend on Box for sharing information and collaborating on projects. Applicants ask, "How do you manage a dispersed work force?" and "How do people maintain a sense of team?" "Box," I say, "is a big component." Pros 1\. Sharing files is simple, no matter who you want to share with and no matter from what device. You can share a document with someone inside or outside of the organization without giving up control of the document. No need for someone outside of the organization to upload any software in order to access the shared document. 2. As an HR professional I find Box to be a great tool for collaborating with hiring managers. I set up a system for resume sorting that allows hiring managers to see just those resumes selected for their review, and allows the manager to move the candidates ahead in the hiring process, or not, as desired. I can then take action based on their actions in Box. It's very efficient. As a small business we do not need expensive, extensive stand-alone software for applicant tracking. Box allows us to record our decision making process 3. Largely intuitive, but in case you need a bit of help, the webinars and how-to videos are very easy to follow. 4. I can access, read and send documents from my phone. Very helpful for those moments at the beach when you realize you forgot to send a document to your boss. It's happened. Cons 1\. I work mostly from an old Mac. I find some of the interface less smooth than from my PC. For example, when I create a Word doc within Box while using my Mac, the Mac defaults to Text Edit instead of Word. I suspect that's user error, though. Review Source SR Saba R.
