It is easy to create and share folders. Uploading is easy with drag and drop and working within documents online makes things simple for sharing. Cons The only con I have is that documents lose their last saved dates when uploaded. The document takes on the date when the document was uploaded. Thus, when you have documents transfer in and upload them, you can no longer sort by date for convenient search of most recent actions. They will all have the same date. Review Source AW Allyson W. I like the file management system and the notifications when you have a new file to view. Cons It was not always easy to find documents. However, I don’t think that was Box’s fault, I think that was how the file and organizational structure was set up. January 31, 2019 5.0 Pros Perfect for creating folders for each of your client and adding collateral for them to access at their convenience. Sharing links with clients or internal co-workers is a breeze and keeps you from having to attach tons of documents to e-mails or even having to send multiple e-mails. Also nice to see when someone has downloaded the files. Cons Just another tab to keep open in your browser so if you only have one screen to work with sometimes it can be cluttering. Cons That there isn't a better way to transfer files from a different cloud service like Dropbox or One-drive to a Box.com account. It is not a deal breaker just a minor irritant, that can be easily overlooked! Pros Box has a robust filesystem that supports a wide variety of files; primarily we use it for photo sharing within our organization. We've found that adding users and sharing files with others is extremely easy, and the speed of the platform is very robust. We also appreciate that Box has strong security in place to protect our media on the platform. Cons Box has been challenging to incorporate with the users in our organization who already use Sharepoint, Google Drive, and Dropbox. That's also a big organizational problem- different users prefer different platforms, and none really play well together. We also miss having integration with Vimeo, YouTube and Webdam which Dropbox offers us. It is very easy to use and inexpensive as per the market. I would really recommend this to everyone that are working in corporate industry. Pros Box is a very effective application for managing, backing up, and editing files or documents from phone as well as desktop. It does develops and markets cloud-based content management, collaboration, and file sharing tools for business purpose. Any kind of file size can be shared through box within very minimum time. It really helps in powering secure remote work. It is very user friendly and useful product. Cons While using the Box, I have noticed a very small thing which I like to highlight which is like during we upload file it takes a little more time than uploading any files through desktop and web versions. I have also experienced that the free version has a storage limit which is a very less which we are usually offered than the free trial in any cloud based applications. One can also make folders on it for different formats of data and it also shows the last person to access he data and to modify it which sometimes become really helpful. As we are a small org., the current price point is ok for us to spend. But once we get larger, we may look elsewhere for a cheaper alternative. Pros The best feature of this software is that you can directly open up word/excel on the platform to your desktop and once you hit save, the file automatically gets updated in the software. The ability to set privacy/sharing capabilities to a folder is also very useful to us as an organization. Unlimited storage is a plus as we store large multi-media files. Interface is simple and storage is cloud based so you avoid capex charges. Pros We started using this at our office and it is GREAT! You can allow only certain people to see certain files which is awesome for backing up and Payroll information. This has been a life save and so super easy to use! Cons The app and the online do not sync the same. If others are in the same document the app creates another file not updating what you are in. Collaboration is good, not like MS or google level, but has some lovely features for automation that makes life easier. Pros Box is not the most popular platform, but it is the one that has a bit of everything, good encryption, automation of work activities and collaboration tools, and a good windows and MS Office integration. Cons We used to have problems with syncronization, however this has been solved with the growing of the platform. Pros The software offers a large amount of storage at lower cost than other competing solutions that I've found. The free account offers 10 GB of storage, and the business plans are also affordable for what you get. Additionally, the security features on the business account are very useful! Cons A lot of the applications I've used this software for are between several different organizations. In these instances, I've often run into issues with some users being unable to upload documents, or having trouble viewing different uploads if you have ties to box links from several different organizations. Can never have enough cloud storage! Pros Box focuses primarily on object storage and it does this very well. It's easy to understand the value that this service provides and I happily pay for the service. The free version is also quite generous, you receive 10 GB of space to work with. On mobile devices, it's a great supplementary storage option since the mobile app is excellent. Upload performance is speedy and retrieval of files is also fast. The notes functionality is also interesting and worth a look. Cons The pricing tiers are based on the number of enterprise app integrations which is a bit unusual. Luckily the major office suites are already baked into all paid tiers.
