Pros SIgned up because their base paid plan is cheaper than other competitors. I like the native integrations for signatures and the ability to grant access to specific folders. Was useful for working with clients. Cons It's an enterprise focused app so it's not as pretty of an interface as other one. Not as media-file friendly as other cloud storage apps. Wish there were more advanced file encryption. Pros I love how quick and easy it is to upload files to Box and the different ways you can organise and structure folders. Not only this, but so much time is saved through the ability to file share via a URL link, which is extremely helpful - particularly during the times when you have a huge file to upload (of which the size exceeds limits for sending over email). The 'Box Accelerator' feature also allows some very speedy uploading! Cons One small feature that could be improved are the alerts whenever a folder or file is shared with you - if you are already in Box, it's easy to miss notifications if you don't actively check the bell icon. Fortunately, thanks to the frequent email updates this is never really an issue overall. In fact, I was tasked with finding a tool for sharing files amongst our team, and the tool had to have versioning. My research led me to suggest Box, and we've been using it for years now -- with not regrets at all. Pros I love the ability to maintain prior versions of files in Box. Also, I love how you easily share files with one or more users very quickly. I also love how much space you get to use with a corporate account. However, Box was great to follow up consistently until my issue was resolved. They ensured I was happy with the outcome and listened to my feedback. Pros Box is the best solution for business. The product offers easy administration and security. Box also offers Box Drive and Box Sync which make the end user experience simple and easy to use. As a small organization, with limited needs, I have found some online storage to be cost-prohibitive. I also like the integration with both Office 365 and G Suite. The "Notes" feature is also very nice as I can quickly find documents just by searching by my keywords. We can also link Box to other apps. We shared files internally and with external stakeholders it was great to know your files were safe. The editing in app function didn't work so well, due to perhaps my company's hardware or operating system, but regardless, few in our org were able to edit within the app. We got around this by editing in Word and then re uploading. The collaborating was great because we could control who had the file open and who could see it. For individuals, Dropbox is probably fine. For larger orgs, Box is great. We experimented with OneDrive, Google Drive, and Dropbox and none of these products met our expectations. Box met all of our expectations for cloud based storage and are adding more useful features all the time. Pros \- Easy to administer. Security groups and waterfall permissions makes everything very easy. - Integrated with Microsoft Office and offers co-authoring (multiple folks can be in one file at once). - It just works! Cons \- I'm not crazy about the Box Sync application that syncs Box files down to your hard drive. I've had a lot of issues with it taking up bandwidth and filling up hard drives when too much data is synced. Really looking forward to the rollout of Box Desktop that will stream the data and make these issues go away. - Workflows need some work. An integration with DocuSign would be really nice. Box presented a very easy solution to this problem. The easy to use interface and problem free roll-out have made this the right choice for our company. Pros The ease of use of use has been extremely important for implementing within our company. Users needed to adopt the software quickly and be able to utilize the sharing functionality without much instruction. The intuitive nature of Box made this a very smooth process. Our users are able to share very large documents with ease. Cons I've yet to encounter any issues with Box, so far it's been a very good experience without any bumps in the road. Sure the product is easy to use, provides killer features for content management collaboration but its the security, auditing and compliance that truly make it an enterprise class platform. Pros Works on any device, allows you to take your work critical content anywhere. The previewer functionality allows for viewing of 100+ of file types. The integration with Microsoft Office / O365 is flawlessly simple and amazingly productive. Cons Would love to see the BoxNotes functionality expanded to include revision tracking, we use it frequently for drafting initial documents. I have been using Box for a few years now and have been consistently impressed by its features and functionality. Cons One of the biggest issues I have with Box is its storage limitations. Despite paying for a premium subscription, I found that my storage capacity was quickly used up, and I was forced to constantly manage and delete files to free up space. Marketing online Marketing and Advertising Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "a big surprise that I did not expect" November 29, 2018 4.0 Pros to start I must say that until a few months ago I did not know box, and the truth I was pleasantly surprised, within their strengths we have to: 1.- You have several types of accounts according to your needs and budget. There are personal and business accounts, and the prices are quite consistent with the market. 2.- the free account gives you a big enough space in the cloud (10gb), so you can store thousands of documents and files without any problem. 3.- the upload and download of files is very fast. 4.- The environment is very friendly, sober and really easy to use. 5.- It has support for the different operating systems. 6.- You can easily share the files. Cons Unfortunately it has some small flaws: 1.- The collaborative work system does not work as expected, since as in other platforms, conflicts and errors are created when two or more users use the same file. 2.- the files that you can upload in the free version are a few megabytes. I know that box is oriented to office work, but it is also a great disadvantage that you can only upload 250mb in the free version, while in the payment range varies between 2GB and 5GB. One of the advantages is the ability to edit text files within the browser without having to download them locally and re-sync (though I think some of the other file share sites now allow this as well) Cons Not the greatest security controls (can't remember if data is encrypted at rest), and any time you use a service like this there's some degree of privacy that you have to give up.
