Feature wise its not. Security wise its not. In fact the only reason why I can figure out why business prefer box to dropbox is because they got told it was better for them. Like you parents did about vegetables. Fact of the matter is it doesn't matter and at-least with dropbox you get automatic photo backup. Pros It syncs files across devices. Cons \- Security? Box is my favorite by some margin, mostly because it's intuitive to use and reliable. The competition is stiff in this field but Box has managed to stay current. I especially like the file previews, which work like a charm. Cons No major drawbacks. Google Docs has maybe better collaboration features, but overall Box is a very capable performer. Box Notes is a good basic communication tool but the idiosyncrasies of uploading large files can be frustrating. Pros Box is easy to use and includes some unique features not available in other free cloud tools. The ability to create both MS Office and Google Docs documents within the web app is useful and unique. The Box Notes tools are a useful feature and the built-in templates provide great starting points for commonly needed documents. Cons Uploading large files can be problematic. Even when the account has sufficient space and bandwidth, uploading a large file often fails without feedback regarding either the progress of the upload or the actual failure itself. At one point, I even forgot about it. But it keeps working in the background. Pros It set it and forget it approach makes it easy to use. With the mobile apps, Box makes sure that your important files are available everywhere you need them. Cons There is virtually no desktop interface so managing your files is done via the default file manager. This could be nice for some users, but bothersome for others. It has a large space to store my files and manage them. It is secure and popular in academia. I use it to share the files between the research group in my company and our research group at university. Its platform is user friendly. Cons It is slow compared with competitors such as Dropbox. It does not have features like collaboration between users simultaneously on a shared file, even to build one. Cons Browsing tends to be slow at times and users that are not in-house are given read-only access to the files library, but Box remains an excellent robust solution for my needs. It fits all of our needs with nothing negative to say about it. Very happy with it. Pros It is very easy to upload and share content with other users even if they don't have a box account. Because it is not as well known as Dropbox there were times that we needed to share files with people that didn't have a box account. But they were still able to access the files without any problems. It also seems to be very stable, doesn't really have any outages where we are not able to access our data. Cons There are times where it can be a little slow when creating a new file. But it is very minor. It fits our needs well enough that we haven't ever looked for a replacement. Cons Out of nowhere all of our information disappeared and all of our staff were transition from business to personal accounts but Box have said they can't see why that would be and that we must of done that? No logs of any deleted files and 70GB (our entire box) has disappeared with no explanation and slow support who are looking into it. Pros If I write about pros, I would say Box is the only product that fulfills all our collaborating needs in most probable ways. I would say it is the superb way of uploading all sorts of files that may include images, videos, zipped folders and many more. I found it to be the easiest way of tracking files. Cons As far as I am concerned with this product, truly speaking I would say it is incomparable product. I could not find any shortcomings of this product. I think it is complete product with not even a single downside at all. It functions very similarly to DropBox. Cons Sometimes I experience a lag with files not showing up right away. I'm thinking this may be a server issue. Pros Box works great for file sharing, it is fast and its auto syncing feature really works amazing. Something that is a plus about box is that its user interface is really confortable and it makes it super easy to use. Cons I really don't like the fact that if two person open the same document at the same time or when there are syncing errors we end up with two documents, it really messes up the organization and since the free space is so limited it eats through it quite fast.
