Pros This is a great product for storing files and can organize into folders easily to keep track of several Projects/Customers. Ingeniero Computer Software Used the software for: 6-12 months ### " High capacity of Files" January 22, 2019 5.0 Backup and storage personal or business use Pros You can share files with different people, whether it is someone specific or public, for example in a working group, while you are progressing you can update it in the same box so that others can see it or go on doing it as well. - Storage, we can save a certain amount of files, videos, music, photos etc. - Add different users with which you want to share the files. - There is a tool to synchronize the box with the pc, that is, we can add files to a shared folder on the pc and go up to the cloud. Cons It does not have all the office tools in the box, some only have the basics. - When you are editing a file in shared box, sometimes it creates conflict because several people are updating at the same time. - Some files uploaded, can not be viewed (word, excel, powe point, or some videos, that is, you have to download it to be able to see it. They can then be accessed or edited from anywhere, as there are also mobile app options. It also includes basic collaboration tools. Pros Box is easy to install and configure automatic syncing of files between the desktop and cloud. Sharing files with both internal and external users is straightforward. Cons The right-click menu options in File Explorer doesn't have as many options for syncing, sharing and web-based viewing as, say, Dropbox. Pros I used Box as a resource to store my files in. I used it during my time at college as I pursued a bachelor's degree in graphic design. As I took different art classes, I would store large files in Box. I could access those files from any computer at the library which made it nice so I didn't always have to carry around my heavy laptop. Cons The only difficult part for me was that Box had a certain amount of space you could use and if you went over that space, you would then have to pay to get more storage. As a college student, I wasn't willing to spend the money so once I used that space up, I had to find another way to keep my files backed up and to keep them from being deleted or accidently lost. It’s great to use to collaborate, the most recent draft automatically updates so you are never wasting your time, working on an older draft. That's the main reason for me to use Box. It's secured (files are encrypted) and hence can be used to keep secured files required for projects. Sharing files is easy just might take a little patience. Pros I mostly like that we have all of the files synced on our box drive so we can access them anywhere. This is so convenient when working out of the office or just away from my desk. I can get all of my files, presentations, everything, on the go, including mobile. Cons I least like how it seems to take a long time to sync and I don't seem to have much control on how to prioritize this. I would like to share a file, but it may not be ready to share for some time. Difficult to search. Cons Not very stable and the site would hang often. User access was problematic. A user would be granted access, but would try to login via a link and would get a message about invalid location or user. I use everyday for exchanging files among different devices. Pros It improoved a lot on the files visualization. Sharing content also works Very well. Free storage works Very well. Cons For the free version there is a limit size for each file to be stored. Missing a version control for file changes. Your security is box's priority and this is seen in the requirement of dual authentication to log in. It also utilizes Microsoft products so once you understand how it works, you can easily use it for sharing all your documents Cons It took a minute to figure out how to edit documents. Pros I really enjoy how easy it is to setup and use. There is very little in terms of programming and linking. It is also nice to be a cross-platform tool. The Box access controls are a bonus, from my perspective. Note, I've previously used a variety of basic file sharing applications. Box is the 'approved' app at my current employer. Cons Like most new (to me) applications with extensive capabilities, the initial investment in time to learn the UI is required. I would have rated Box higher, if the UI were more intuitive. Box has saved me from ordering textbooks on my own because of the easy file-sharing ability. It has also been a lifesaver for securely saving my files because I know they are backed up. Pros I like the ability to send and share files, textbooks, powerpoints, etc. with my classmates and professors. I also like how reliable the app is for sharing my files because I feel secure with it there. Cons My least favorite thing about this software is how long it takes to download my textbooks when I click on them to load. Pros I love that I can create folders and organize my files. The search feature is very helpful and I can also upload a new version of a document easily. Cons The sharing feature could be more user intuitive. Users can't share the link I send to them also. And, the notifications on when someone previews an item don't need to apply to all folders. I feel like I should be able to choose which items to apply the notifications to. The backups are entirely stored on Box as my computer has significantly little memory available. Also, the syncing between the mobile and desktop is remarkably smooth. Pros Box has the most straightforward interface compared to the other file storing platforms. The files are effortless to share with my office workers. With Box's simple interface, it is absolutely comfortable to work. Cons There are often glitches with the mobile app of Box. Sometimes I face problems uploading files as the app lags frequently. Also, the application's interface does not look attractive. We no longer use dedicated SFTP sites. Cons Box doesn't quite live up to the ideal of a collaborative editing of a single document. Box works great and I'm very happy with it and its place in my workflow, given the reality of the fractured-but-syncing world of cloud-based computing. Pros I love the drive mapper. Like Dropbox, Google Drive, ShareFile, and other cloud storage tools, Box has a drive mapper that allows you to access your Box files through your desktop. It makes it easy to find things, move files around, and open/edit shared Word and Excel documents without downloading and re-uploading new versions. I work as a bookkeeper, and all of my clients have their own special way of storing files and documents that I need to access. That means I have to use basically every cloud-based file storage system on the market. I love Box because it fits into my existing client workflow without creating the hassle of logging into yet another system to find the files I need - I can access everything right from my desktop securely and quickly, and clients have an easy way of getting me info I need without attaching documents to emails, which is how things get lost (and not a secure way to share financial documentation). Best of all, Box can sync with Hubdoc, my favorite cloud-based document collection and management portal, and also the most critical piece of my cloud-based workflow. That means anything I collect through Hubdoc (bank statements, bills, receipts, payroll reports, etc.) can be sent to Box where my clients will have access to it as needed - meaning less time spent on administrative tasks for them AND me.
