However, the lack of built-in editing tools was a bit of a drawback, requiring me to use external applications for document editing. Pros I liked Box's ease of use and security features. It was easy to upload and share files, and I felt confident that my data was safe. Cons I didn't like that Box didn't have built-in editing tools. I had to use other apps to edit my documents. It is easy to navigate and very easy to share files, folders, etc. It is also very secure Pros We use Box all across Texas Tech platforms. It has great integration with collaboration and non collaborative folders, and the storage space is extremely large. It is nice that you can simple share to another person with a link and not always have to share with them via email. It is also very easy to download files from box, if someone has shared a link with you! Lastly, another plus is the mobile integration with the iOS app that is easy to download and use. October 1, 2024 4.0 Wanted to try out the program to see if it could replace google drive, and was satisfied with the results. Tried out the free trial and found it to be an adequate replacement to google drive, sporting many of the same features, and similar capacity. While I can't speak for the paid subscriptions, they seem to boast more features than the original, and could be useful for larger collaborations. Pros Its simple to use, and flexible for various projects. Its storage is sizeable at 10 GB for a free individual pricing, and up to 100 GB for Pro Edition, though I haven't found myself needing the extra space. Offers a 25% discount for annual subscriptions over Monthly subscriptions, making it more worthwhile to buy ahead. Cons Can be difficult to navigate as it lacks a search bar for items, meaning manually finding things. It does though allow for a reliable storage of documents and easy sharing. Pros It was organization specific and allowed for easy sharing of documents. It was also a good place to store documents. Cons Because it used Word to upload, when documents were shared among users the document could be only be viewed and not edited. It then required a new document to be saved because users could not edit the document at once. It also was not user friendly and took a while to understand how it worked. Review Source EH Emily H. Pros Ease of use and the tools/features included. the notifications for downloads and uplaods to collaboration folders is helpful. ability to creat our own workflows and send messages within Box. Cons the workflow creation doesn't work for multiple users utilizing the same workflow. If I create a workflow and another user utilizes it, all communications have my name on them. it sometimes takes a few minutes for the desktop (both Mac and PC) and web versions to sync correctly.
