It's an ideal solution for securely sharing and storing content, and more suited to business use than Dropbox. Pros Good mobile app and web interface; Good desktop sync (though not as many features as Dropbox sync); Very good access level control for different users; Good version roll-back ability. Just works seamlessly in background. Cons Large files can hog the desktop sync if you have it running the whole time, but otherwise no complaints. Review Source Neslihan D. Simple and clean interface, would highly recommend the tool. Pros Ability to automate document uploads and file structures is an incredibly handy feature. Can easily be set up as a 'set and forget' software back up service for all documents or on a project specific basis. Cons Once you upload a large amount of files, it can become harder to manage these and ensure up to date document cleanup. Pros The best of box it is one of the few cloud services with apps to work online. Permissions management is also a very good feature. No more wondering if so-and-so has bothered to download that archive file yet...! It allows any level (that I've attempted) of fine grained control. Cons Performance can be sluggish. Information on how the data is stored is sparse without digging (encrypted at rest? national location?). The service supports as few as three employees but can be scaled to a custom, enterprise-level plan for companies with hundreds of employees. Box.com (for Business) also provides solid document management (DM) capabilities and security features. The Business plan begins per user per month. It offers unlimited storage with a 5-gigabyte (GB) limit, integration with Microsoft Office 365, and custom branding features. Box also offers another tier of their service called Business Plus. The Business Plus plan offers external collaboration and full user tracking capabilities. It serves as a middle ground for users who want more than what the core Business plan offers but don't want to invest in the more expensive Enterprise version. Pros It provides enterprise level security and privacy features. It is a cloud based solution and a good collaboration software. It offers document management feature with storage. It is similar to O365 SharePoint platform. Cons Missing online editing functionality for external users. Because of a web based solution, the uploading or downloading deep folder structures can be painful. Pros It's one of the first providers out there that I recall and it's easy to use - and easy to get other team members to adobt. Pros I like this software because I can easily and safely share documents with other team members. The documents that I share contain Protected Health Information and BOX helps me maintain the privacy of these documents. It is perfect for sharing Word and PDF documents. It didn't meet my needs, which is why I selected one of their competitors. Don't get me wrong, it's a great service, but just not for everyone. Pros When I used Box, it was primarily for storing files, it accomplished what I expected and didn't have any bad experiences with it. Cons The lack of integration/ease of use across platforms. I ultimately left Box for that reason, because one of their competitors offered a better integration solution, more storage, at a cheaper overall price. Review Source MV Manoj V. We use SharePoint now.." November 23, 2018 5.0 Pros Box just works. A good file storage and sharing system is one you don't have to think or worry about on a daily basis. We've migrated to O365 and are starting to miss the good old days when things worked without worry of files being lost and edits not syncing. Sigh. Cons Not much to criticize about Box. I was not involved in the purchasing decision nor did I ever have to log any support tickets but from what I've heard from colleagues the buying process is well managed.
