Pros Its very secure for you to share this with clients, you can upload all types of files which is great for creatives like me that use editable work files. For teams its also very efficient and work on real time. The interface and organization are very similar to how one would navigate a file explorer. It is extremely easy to create folders and invite people to them, it is easy to secure folders, and the interface is simple and clean. Version control is clear and understandable, and now some file types can even be edited online. Cons There is very little to criticize about this software. Occasionally I will see very old, inactive users who should be cleared out of Box, so perhaps push notifications to owners to check the list of users who can access the folder once in awhile? The other key reason I use Box is to store files I share publicly through url links. Pros I've tried many online cloud storage facilities and what I love most about Box is that when you share a link with someone and then move that file, the link does not break. It very easy to use and the syncing works great over all devices. You also get 10GB of storage on the free plan which is plenty to get started with. Cons Honestly I cannot really think of anything I don't like. It ticks all my boxes of what I would expect for cloud storage and online collaboration. Review Source Sudeep A. The UI is simple, effective (dare I say better than Drive?). And sharing data is super easy. Cons The UI is perhaps too simple. And extra data has become a bit expensive for personal use. If you like Dropbox, you'll like Box. I used to wonder if they're the same thing (don't think they are). Cons Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I don't think Box is capable of remembering usernames, as I often find myself reentering my login info after a day (but don't take my word for it). I like that it feeds to my desktop computer and syncs regularly so all files on box can be accessed offline as well (although make sure you go back online to sync any new files!). Cons The only drawback for me is that if two people have the same file open at the same time and they both make different edits and save them without telling each other, it just defaults to making two separate files. That can get messy. It would be nice if it warned you that someone else was currently accessing the file. January 25, 2019 5.0 Pros I start using box since a branch from the Government has their files in Box, so we started communicating ans sharing users and links with them. We have most in owncloud and some in dropbox. Supremely the bandwidth for box in Argentina worked way better than dropbox. It has same functions as dropbox, at least what we uses looks the same. Cons For now on what we use we dont find any cons. We just installed clients, logged users and start sharing files, Bandwidth from argentina of Box seems to be way better than dropbox. This also allows other folks at the company take a look and access whenever they need to. Pros I love how this keeps my documents synced in the cloud that other members of my team and the company overall can have access to. This also allows me to access these files from different computers at home and the office. Cons In getting things set up, there were some things I didn't want to sync that started syncing. As a chemist, I have many data, scientific papers, and experiment procedures that have to be shared with each other promptly. So many of my colleagues and labmates, and even professor use this software to share our files. So I think it will be more time efficient than just using email share our files. Cons Sometimes, my collaborators don't have this software. If I really want to share something with them using this software, it will be more complicated. Team used to assign the tasks or pass the comments or observation related to this file, which is great feature Pros With Box, you store and organize the data in structured manner and all in one place. You can create private or shared folders based on the need. You can upload a file or directly a folder. You can share the content to your colleagues instantly. Create a folder, shared with people and then defined the access level like editor, viewer or owner etc. You can also share the content via email by creating a unique link, with full control, who can access the content, like turn on/off download, set expiration date etc. Searching the file is lot easier since the content is already organised or use the “search files”, search in title and in the content Cons Need to bring few more features and needs increase the adoptability Review Source IA Ivan A. Pros Sharing by date and emails link direct to folders direct link to the file Integration with the CRM Synchronization with computers and mobiles devices Cons The synchronization is slow and I have problems with my internet bandwidth.
