Pros Once you know how to use the product it's easy to use which can be good considering I am not a fan of how they organize it. Cons I use this software because one of our partners uses it. I often find the software to be unreliable in terms of downloading and uploading. The main reason we use BOX and it can hardly support its main function. I think my main issue would be to have developers find a better way to organize folders. Cons What I like least about Box is that it lacks some of the features of competitive and alternative software, and it is also not as ubiquitous as other options which can be a disadvantage sometimes. Works with most of the large CRM and other management softwares so everything works together seamlessly. Administrating through it is very straight forward. The UI is very friendly. Cons More pricey than some other options. The Box Sync and Box Edit desktop apps for Windows don't work properly although it's because of policies imposed by Windows. It is available starting with Germany, Ireland, Singapore, Japan or Australia. Box supports 256 bit AES at rest and SSL 3.0 and TLS 1.0-1.2 for the web application and API in transit. Box solution has both ISO 27001 and ISO 27018 certifications Box also offers native multi-factor authentication verification to all users. Box Trust Partners for Mobile Security include AirWatch by VMWare, Dell, MaaS360 by Fiberlink, and MobileIron. Cons Box is also dependent on the cloud vendor's security posture and published certifications and hence there will always be a residual risk of utilizing the cloud that has to be acknowledged and accepted by individual companies and users. June 16, 2020 5.0 I prefer using Box over Onedrive. It is easier to use and can be used for collaborative projects. Pros With the desktop app, it is easy to work on a document using multiple systems. We use it as a lab depository of documents and data. Cons The app stores cache files that can take up lot of space if not cleared out regularly. Also, there can be some issues syncing sometimes. July 18, 2017 5.0 Pros The biggest benefit for our use of Box has been enabling users to wherever they would like; no VPN, no extra cert-authentication, etc. just download the app or go to the web. Cons If your workload is not part of the existing integrations then you will need to put a decent amount of work in to get the two apps synced up. Another challenge is user de-provisioning and content transition. It's slick looking, and shiny; the transitions between items opening and closing looks magical, and the icons use look modern and visually appealing. It seems to do everything Evernote does, just a little bit prettier. I may actually abandoned my ever-favored Evernote just so I can look at this longer. Cons It took a little longer than I would have expected to load the notes page to create a new note. Unfortunately they copied the same way Evernote creates new notes where you have to write an extra click to title it (which of course you should title it because that's how you can find it/see it), defaulting to writing your note instead of starting with a title. Also, the image icons are a little small for my aging eyes, so I might have preferred a larger icon and smaller text, but I'll give that one to it. Review Source JT Jacob T. Easy to use, user friendly tool. Most amazingly it's integration with Office 365(online) is one of the best features it have other than integrating with other with big app like Salesforce etc.. Widgets feature is amazing to provide a link to upload documents to the external vendors. Drag and drop feature for uploading multiple files at ones. Box capture will allow users to take photos of products and video recording for trainings and store fronts etc.., this uploads directly to box.com directly. No need to worry about storage space with enterprise version of box.com. Cons Waiting on more additional features in workflows, hope fully next version is up to the users standards. This provides many of the same benefits of working on a shared Word document, without the issue of instant edits that can cause version control issues. Cons Sharing with external parties can be more difficult for first-time users. I could create folders for topics related to college work. Files were synced with Windows File folders so that the most current file was available. I could access the Box files from my desktop and not have to go online to open them. I really liked the features of their Box notes because I could write reminders on a note, give it a name, and it would always be available. That really helped. If you have a limited user pool or really need the security functionality, Box can be a great solution. GDPR compliance is nice, too. The ability to share sensitive documents with non-employees (e.g., consultants) is good, too. Cons The per-user-per-month fee scale can rapidly make Box one of your pricier software solutions, so it may be better for employers to think carefully about whether they want a limited roll-out to a specific set of employees. There's an ROI calculator, but it makes a lot of assumptions that may not apply to your organization, and thus may over-or under-represent the value proposition. Review Source FL Felix L.
