February 4, 2022 4.0 Pros This storage in the clouds allows its users to use up to 10 GB in free mode and I find it extremely interesting since a new user can experience the product before purchasing its general services. Cons My only complaint is regarding the permissible capacity per file that its maximum limit is 250 mb, if the case arises of wanting to export a video with good quality to the cloud, this would make it difficult for us. It has a fast upload time and nice security features, which is great for work as I know my files are secure. Cons Not a lot of storage space for the price but I mostly use it to store JPEG files, so it doesn't fill up as fast. Pros Box has been an exceptional resource for our relatively large department. It was easily integrated into our protected network, allowing adequate protection along with quick access ability. Downloads are quick, perfectly formatted, and easily convertible for editing. It has been a great go-to for our new and seasoned employees. Cons I have not encountered any issues or problems with this software and have been using it for a few years. Pros It is very easy to upload documents and navigate through multiple documents saved in a particular file. Cons I don't like that I have to download a document to be able to edit or copy from it. I work from home and it's kind of cumbersome to have to download documents. I don't end up doing it, because I don't want sensitive data on my computer. Cons I also use Github for storing code for software projects. I am not sure if Box has the software APIs which allow for easy upload of data and code. This would be a nice feature. November 21, 2019 4.0 my company started using box on a paid plan a couple years ago, but we've switched to having a local fileserver. our upload speeds are terrible and that made box almost unusable for us. also it got really tough when someone would finally upload something and we'd need to wait for 7 computers to simultaneously download that thing. box was the culprit for our bandwidth being exceeded regularly. Pros i like that box is another dropbox / google drive competitor. competition is good for consumers Cons this isn't really the best option, to my knowledge. you dont get the google factor. Very few bugs, and the syncing among team members is relatively reliable. Pros Box is a great platform that works well for my team. The feature to share documents with specific people, and it's integration with Microsoft File Explorer is seamless. Very well executed. Cons When multiple people are editing the same document, it often creates duplicate files. This can often lead to a cluttered folder that becomes unorganized. However, this is easy to fix. It's also easy to invite people to specific folders, which is handy for clients. Cons For bigger companies, it's easy to get bogged down by all the folders out there. Bookmarking folders can be handy, but not when you have dozens to deal with. It supports a number of our key business processes, and we rely heavily on the Salesforce integration. Pros The product itself is easy to learn and intuitive. Box University was INVALUABLE when developing training materials for our organization. Our staff also enjoy the plug-ins that make it even easier to work from the cloud. Cons We've needed to contact customer support only a few times, but each of these experiences have been painful. It is a one-stop-shop for sharing large files or sensitive information that can't be shared by email. Pros Box is incredibly easy to use whether you're the person sharing a large file or you're the one accessing a shared file. I've never had trouble using this product! Cons Occasionally if you're trying to access a large file, it will take a while to see a preview of the document, but you can simply download it and view it much quicker that way. Box remembers the folders and items that you search for the most, which makes it always makes it easy to quickly find what you're looking for. Cons My ONLY complaint is that you must remember to always tag others when leaving a comment on a file. I wish Box would notify everyone who has previously commented or been tagged in the comments. It doesn't support multiple people working together well. Pros I like the add-on BOX synch that allows you to open using file explorer vs. The BOX tool as it is immediate and makes moving files en masse very smooth. Cons It doesn't have any strong workflow features, and it doesn't recognize Visio files at all. You cannot view them within BOX. It also overwrites when people download a file to work on it and then re-upload it over someone else's recently uploaded version.
