We enjoy a great deal of savings just in having fewer meetings face to face alone. Pros I especially like the fact that I can allow members of my team to have access to files that we are working on together available to them at any time and place across multiple platforms. The fact that we can all see updated projects in real time has been very helpful. Cons On a few occasions, the program seems to lag when accessing and manipulating large files, although I'm sure this is mostly dependant on the users connection. Review Source Patricia A R. Pros I really liked being able to easily upload photos and documents to share in real-time with my colleagues around the world. We could also comment and tag each other on the content. The Box app is also easy to use and functions well. Our team worked quickly and needed a software like this that could help us share big files asap. Cons This may have changed recently, but when we used it, there wasn't a workflow functionality. It was just for sharing content. So, we couldn't assign roles or check off that things had been completed. Pros secure, can be encrypted to desired level. software is run through my work, and can be linked to pre-existing login for work. perfect for management of sensitive data and file sharing with large groups. Cons the documents that are shared in the software cannot be 'pre-viewed' by placing the cursor over the document or any other way. you have to open the entire file in order to assess what it is beyond the title. May 30, 2018 5.0 Organization and collaboration. Pros We started using box at my old job because it was much more secure than google docs. Everyone instantly adopted, as Box is so simple and helpful! Easy to find things, organize by project/team, and makes collaboration easy. We also use Box at my current place of work, and I am so glad. October 14, 2019 5.0 Box allows our team to cut down on sharing large files via email, and allows for us to have a central, cloud-based location for our shared files. Pros The Box Sync option is my absolute favorite. It allows me to drag and drop files directly to Box as if it's all on my local machine, but it's safely stored to the Box cloud for others to access with ease. Cons I wish the option to "lock" documents actually prevented others from editing. Since it doesn't do this, versioning becomes an issue when multiple people are accessing the same file. " June 14, 2018 4.0 Pros Syncing - I use both a laptop and desktop at work, and need to share files seamlessly between the two. I have a Box folder set up on both machines - anything that gets saved there is available on both my laptop and desktop. Box also allows you to create shared documents that are easy to update and edit collaboratively. Cons While the Box sync folder is very useful when it works, sometimes it does not. It's often hard to get to the bottom of a syncing issue, and the issue takes many forms - sometimes the folder will not update a file, sometimes the folder cannot find a file that I just saved there, sometimes the folder will save a copy of a file EVERY time I save the file (I have ended up with 15 of the same file before). Troubleshooting these issues is time consuming, so most times it's worth it just to put up with them and move on. Review Source SN Samantha N. Since becoming a more virtual, work at home environment, it’s really easy to share files to others in the business that are not in the office either. Pros There is an app for Apple users that I use almost every time I use Box. I am in charge of social media for our company and gathering, editing and sharing pictures and video is my main use for Box. It’s AMAZING! Super easy to use, really quick on load/download/upload times. Cons There is not much that I don't like. It does what it’s supposed to. I guess I would like to be able to see more options on one page and scroll instead of having to switch pages. I can get lost of what I’m trying to find if there is a lot in the folder. We have migrated over 75TB of network shares into Box and successfully brought several departments online with Box. Whenever I hear about detractors, I have been able to solve all of their issues within 15 minutes of meeting personally. I have yet to run into an issue that could not be worked around or fixed with the multitude of tools that Box provides. Pros The extremely large amount of ways you can access your data Cons Extra features cost more money on a subscription basis Review Source Don S. Pros SIgned up because their base paid plan is cheaper than other competitors. I like the native integrations for signatures and the ability to grant access to specific folders. Was useful for working with clients. Cons It's an enterprise focused app so it's not as pretty of an interface as other one. Not as media-file friendly as other cloud storage apps. Wish there were more advanced file encryption. Pros I love how quick and easy it is to upload files to Box and the different ways you can organise and structure folders. Not only this, but so much time is saved through the ability to file share via a URL link, which is extremely helpful - particularly during the times when you have a huge file to upload (of which the size exceeds limits for sending over email). The 'Box Accelerator' feature also allows some very speedy uploading! Cons One small feature that could be improved are the alerts whenever a folder or file is shared with you - if you are already in Box, it's easy to miss notifications if you don't actively check the bell icon. Fortunately, thanks to the frequent email updates this is never really an issue overall. In fact, I was tasked with finding a tool for sharing files amongst our team, and the tool had to have versioning. My research led me to suggest Box, and we've been using it for years now -- with not regrets at all. Pros I love the ability to maintain prior versions of files in Box. Also, I love how you easily share files with one or more users very quickly. I also love how much space you get to use with a corporate account. However, Box was great to follow up consistently until my issue was resolved. They ensured I was happy with the outcome and listened to my feedback. Pros Box is the best solution for business. The product offers easy administration and security. Box also offers Box Drive and Box Sync which make the end user experience simple and easy to use. As a small organization, with limited needs, I have found some online storage to be cost-prohibitive. I also like the integration with both Office 365 and G Suite. Cons Our pcs have limited hard drive space, and Box does not allow for off-loading less frequently used files.
