It does allow you to automate and schedule scripts and app deployment as well. It works as expected but it doesn't provide much of any other functions. Pros Works with Windows and macOS devices. Supports operating system patches as well as with 3rd party software (slack, zoom, chrome, etc.). UI is easy to navigate and use. Has a native remote support tool that you can add on to. You do have the ability to deploy scripts and applications. Cons Can be slightly on the pricier side for a platform that is strictly just used for Windows and macOS patching. There's a native remote support tool built in as well which works okay. And you don't get much device insight/information other than what is related to patching. Their support is responsive and their product is good value for money. I've used other patching and auditing systems in the past and they do one thing only. Automox does all of the essentials and more. Pros Easy to use, reliable and trustworthy. You setup your scheduled tasks and you can trust Automox to deliver results with minimal interference. Cons Lack of user-installed software scanning. Lack of ongoing support, unreliable and to be honest, WSUS was a poor product that did one thing... badly. May 28, 2025 5.0 Overall, my experience has been fantastic with Automox. The tool has saved me and my team so much time, and has closed many gaps when it comes to security and compliance. And their support is top notch - they have effectively and efficiently answered any question or issue (we haven't had many issues) when we need it. Pros Automox strikes a great balance between power and usability. The two standout features for me are Worklets and Patch Schedules. Worklets make it incredibly easy to automate complex configurations and remediations across platforms, while Patch Schedules allow precise control over when and how updates are applied—critical for minimizing business disruption. The UI is intuitive, and deployments are typically reliable and fast, even in remote environments. Cons This is going to be very nitpicky, as it's hard to say that I DISLIKE any component. My main concern is with some of the reporting metrics—specifically around CVE exposure and time-to-remediate (TTR). For example, a critical vulnerability might show as “80 days exposed” in the dashboard, but that figure reflects the public discovery date, not when it was actually detected on the device. This can make it harder to evaluate internal performance and compliance. I’d also like to see more clarity or filters in vulnerability timelines. Lastly, while not entirely Automox’s fault, getting Apple M-Series devices into a patch-ready state takes extra manual steps, which adds to deployment friction. We we're looking to replace a competitors product called "Patch My PC". Hands down it was a superior Patch Management product replacement. Pros Automox allows you to patch various operating systems using one application, making updates easier across different environments. It greatly cuts down the time needed for patch management, reducing the time spent on each machine from 15-30 minutes to just a few minutes, which saves many hours each month. The ability to create custom tools and the strong reporting features are very useful, supporting daily IT management and compliance during audits. Automox has significantly lowered the number of man-hours required for patching, potentially saving hundreds of hours. Managing updates and exclusions of patches on specific machines, like servers that need a certain version of Java, is straightforward, improving operational efficiency. Cons Seriously nothing comes to mind. It's just works like its marketed as such. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for an effective Patch Management tool. Also, i can export most of the activities as a CSV activity logs, devices list etc Cons There is no abort or stop button to forcefully stop a policy when run accidentally. It has made patching our Windows environment much more reliable. Not only this, but we can push out software and scripts to computers with a high speed. We can schedule a deployment or push it on demand within seconds or minutes. Pros Automox is very easy to setup and work with. It is easy to set up groups, add devices to groups, and set up policies to patch your devices. Before Automox, I didn't have any experience with Patch Management software, but I was able to quickly jump into Automox and start creating policies to meet our needs. Automox's support is helpful and gets back to you very quickly. I've had to reach out to support a few times over the past year and they've been helpful. Also, they have a community that the developers and employees frequently monitor where you can ask questions and engage with other Automox users. Cons Automox has some limitations. Unfortunately, some output is limited. For example, when a computer is in process of updating you won't always see the exact percentage or updates it is currently working on. This can cause some confusion and can make it harder to see if theres a certain update getting stuck. I also would love to see a way to stop any sent instructions to an endpoint from our end. If I send a script that seems to error out or glitch out during testing, there is a chance that the device's status may get stuck in the "Pending Update" status until the next day when Automox automatically flushes it out. In Summary, Some of Automox's output or status visibility could be improved. The ability to stop a scan or script from finishing would also be ideal if possible. Review Source KB Kirti B. Pros The tool automates all the patching tasks after initial set-up, IT Staff can focus on other automation tasks. Cons The device gets stuck in pending update state after we push multiple policies on a device to change the state of the device we either need to re-start the device or contact support to clear the state.
