Overall experience is very promising and very much satisfied. I will recommend to all of my friends and companies.

Pros

Powerful updates management tool. Easy to use and deploy software and applications. Easy for device management.

Cons

I struggled sometime like while deploying a file to users computer. I was trying to deploy a file to users computer which i struggled a lot

### "Something all IT Admins need to remove one more headache from your role"

June 6, 2025

4.0

Very good. Their support is responsive and their product is good value for money. I've used other patching and auditing systems in the past and they do one thing only. Automox does all of the essentials and more.

Pros

Easy to use, reliable and trustworthy. You setup your scheduled tasks and you can trust Automox to deliver results with minimal interference.

Cons

Lack of user-installed software scanning. (Software where the uninstall goes into the users registry, not HKLM)

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing Automox

Too much bloat in the others. We wanted software to do the software auditing and patching. Not add in extras we would have to pay for and not want.

We used WSUS prior (Can't select). Lack of ongoing support, unreliable and to be honest, WSUS was a poor product that did one thing... badly. We needed full scheduling as well as auditing, and of all applications, not just those made by one company.

### "Very good cloud based patch management solution"

April 17, 2026

5.0

If you're looking for just a patching solution for your Windows and macOS devices then Automox is a very good solution. It does allow you to automate and schedule scripts and app deployment as well. It works as expected but it doesn't provide much of any other functions.

Pros

Works with Windows and macOS devices. Supports operating system patches as well as with 3rd party software (slack, zoom, chrome, etc.). UI is easy to navigate and use. Has a native remote support tool that you can add on to. You do have the ability to deploy scripts and applications.

Cons

Can be slightly on the pricier side for a platform that is strictly just used for Windows and macOS patching. There's a native remote support tool built in as well which works okay. And you don't get much device insight/information other than what is related to patching.

It is a very reliable tool that saves our team a lot of time by keeping all our remote computers safe and updated automatically.

Pros

It automates updates for Windows, Mac, and Linux very well. It saves us a lot of manual work every week.

Cons

The search and reporting pages are sometimes slow to load. It can be hard to find specific data quickly.

### "Powerful and Flexible Patching - What more can IT want?"

May 28, 2025

5.0

Overall, my experience has been fantastic with Automox. The tool has saved me and my team so much time, and has closed many gaps when it comes to security and compliance. And their support is top notch - they have effectively and efficiently answered any question or issue (we haven't had many issues) when we need it.

Pros

Automox strikes a great balance between power and usability. The two standout features for me are Worklets and Patch Schedules. Worklets make it incredibly easy to automate complex configurations and remediations across platforms, while Patch Schedules allow precise control over when and how updates are applied—critical for minimizing business disruption. The UI is intuitive, and deployments are typically reliable and fast, even in remote environments.

Cons

This is going to be very nitpicky, as it's hard to say that I DISLIKE any component. My main concern is with some of the reporting metrics—specifically around CVE exposure and time-to-remediate (TTR). For example, a critical vulnerability might show as “80 days exposed” in the dashboard, but that figure reflects the public discovery date, not when it was actually detected on the device. This can make it harder to evaluate internal performance and compliance. I’d also like to see more clarity or filters in vulnerability timelines. Lastly, while not entirely Automox’s fault, getting Apple M-Series devices into a patch-ready state takes extra manual steps, which adds to deployment friction.

I did a proof-of-concept product evaluation of Automox in November of 2023. We we're looking to replace a competitors product called "Patch My PC". Hands down it was a superior Patch Management product replacement.

Pros

Automox allows you to patch various operating systems using one application, making updates easier across different environments. It greatly cuts down the time needed for patch management, reducing the time spent on each machine from 15-30 minutes to just a few minutes, which saves many hours each month. The ability to create custom tools and the strong reporting features are very useful, supporting daily IT management and compliance during audits. Automox has significantly lowered the number of man-hours required for patching, potentially saving hundreds of hours. Managing updates and exclusions of patches on specific machines, like servers that need a certain version of Java, is straightforward, improving operational efficiency.

Cons

Seriously nothing comes to mind. It's just works like its marketed as such. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for an effective Patch Management tool.

We recently started using Automox here at Tenchi, and it has been performing as expected. The support from the Automox team has been exceptional, truly the cherry on top. I highly recommend it.

Pros

It's easy to onboard devices on Automox. I can clearly see the health of my environment, and the Worklet feature is extremely helpful. Most importantly, it works as expected.

Cons

### "Automox for System updates and PowerShell Scrips just works"

December 17, 2024

5.0

I've been using Automox for over 3 years, and for the most part, they have been a lifesaver. We use it to perform weekly software and Microsoft Windows updates, to push out new or updated versions of software, and to occasionaly run PowerShell scripts on machines. It works great when we use it like this, and Automox provides some great training (which I highly reccommend taking) to help you figure out the platform, give you some shortcuts, and assist with the reasons the platform behaves the way it does.

Pros

Super easy to get initial set up completed. If you need additional ways to update or install software, or to make changes to a system, there are a ton of prewritten worklets to get you going.

Cons

Automox doesn't work natively in a 64 bit environment, so you need to call the WOW6432Node to make scripts work.

### "Automox: A Powerful Cloud-Based Patch Management Solution with Room for Improvement"

February 28, 2025

4.0

Overall, Automox is a solid cloud-based patch management solution that simplifies endpoint security and compliance. It’s particularly useful for organizations looking to automate OS and third-party application updates across Windows, macOS, and Linux devices without needing on-premise infrastructure.

Pros

Automox has several strong points, especially when it comes to automated patch management and endpoint security. Here are some of the key pros: 1) Cloud-Based Management 2) Cross-Platform Support 3) Automated Patching 4) Custom Policies & Scripting and ETC

Cons

While Automox is a strong patch management solution, there are some limitations and areas for improvement: 1) Limited Third-Party Patch Catalog 2) Pricing 3) Agent Dependency 4) Limited Native Reporting & Customization

### "Great RMM with a focus in automation"

December 4, 2024

Automox has been a blessing to our company. It has allowed us to automate many things that we used to do manually before. It has saved us a lot of time and headaches. However, its remote control isn't great, and it lacks desktop and mobile apps.

Pros

I like that Automox allows our company to automate updates, whether it's Windows updates, or third party app updates. It also allows us to install apps remotely. I also like its ease of use

Cons

The remote control included with Automox doesn't work too well. It lacks desktop and mobile apps.

### "Automox x Logically"

December 6, 2024

5.0

We use Automox to standardise patching on all our Windows and MacOS endpoints. Patch Management: Ensuring all endpoints are up-to-date with the latest security patches to mitigate risks of vulnerabilities and cyberattacks, this includes OS and 3rd party patching. Endpoint Security: Proactively addressing security threats and vulnerabilities before they can exploit the devices.

Pros

OS agnostic, we can apply the same patch policies to all our endpoints using Automox.

Cons

The current product is great, I'm not sure where the product is going to go next.

### "Easy Patch and Policy Management"

December 13, 2024

4.0

Automox is doing an effective job of keeping both physical hardware assigned to employees and remote servers updated and compliant with our security practices so that we seldom have to remediate these issues manually.

Pros

Automox can be used to apply patches, custom policies, deploy code, etc. for Windows, MacOs, and Linux distributions with relative ease and has a library of premade scripts to get started quickly with. When done right, most policies are a set-and-forget experience, requiring only occasional logins to change or reapply to individual machines or entire groups.

Cons

There are a lot of premade scripts to get started with that should be sufficient for getting your team off the ground, however since it is largely script-based, this does also require a significant understanding of all the operating systems in your environment and how to get things done in their respective console or terminal applications whenever changes or more advanced scripts are required.
