About Timing

Have you ever spent all day in front of your Mac, just to wonder where the heck all that time went? You could use a time tracker. But to be honest, time tracking sucks. You have to start and stop timers and enter what you did. And if you forget that, you are back to square one. Timing, on the other hand, automatically tracks how you spend your time. It logs which apps you use, which websites you visit, and which documents you edit. You can also export that data to create invoices.

Pros: Automatically keeps track of what you are doing on your mac. You can set up various projects and sub-projects and assign the activities to these (and automate this process). You can also add activities away from the computer manually. This program includes beautiful graphs and pie charts detailing reports on how you spent your time. The "Expert" version also includes support for apple script. I love that this is a one off payment not an ongoing subscription.

Cons: An iOS app to more easily add activities away from the computer would be really helpful but otherwise there really is nothing to complain about.

Overall: I can better see how I am spending my time by looking at the reports Timing offers.
