Since we have started using it, it has automated our maintenance program so when a service is due, it automatically creates a work order and sends i to our mechanic. One of the other best parts is the customer service. They have ALWAYS been prompt and helpful. Pros We do all our vehicle inspections with this software. I like making sure that inspections are done by the drivers by forcing them to take pictures of all 4 sides of the vehicle. It also helps if we find damage to be able to go back and find when it appeared and have proof. Cons I am still working on figuring out the maintenance side of it. There have been several improvements. The one issue is that a drivers comments do not appear on a work order. When you turn a defect to a work order, it only shows the category. For example, lights, when the driver fails it and says right headlight out, it only shows on the work order as a light failure. Review Source JL Jim L. This really helps having 3 locations and I can see daily tracking of vehicles even when they're not right in front of me all the time. Pros I love that everything is right in one program that I need to manage my fleet. It gets updated on the fly by myself or the drivers and other managers and keeps it pretty simple to stay on schedule. Cons Maybe I haven't found out how to do it yet but the one and only thing I don't like is if a vehicle has a defect for a longer period of time, say a computer is down and we're waiting on parts for a while, that defect is recorded daily and it doesn't consolidate all dates reported for one repair on a work order. This causes me to have to go back and individually marks "Corrected" on the dates in order to keep the defect pie graph up to date and accurate Review Source JC Joe C. Pros I am part of a team that manages over 70 drivers and a fleet of 33 vehicles in 16 states. This software has been the perfect solution to remotely manage pre and post trip reports, vehicle maintenance, and driver compliance. It’s very simple to implement with drivers due in large part to not require special or expensive equipment - most of our drivers use the free app on their own smartphones. We also use inexpensive Samsung tablets which we leave on the vehicles (one per vehicle). Other great features are the document management for fleet and drivers, mechanic notifications and updates, and the ease of generating reports and summaries. Cons The only thing I would like to see improve is the driver communication tools. Currently, there is no feature in place that notifies drivers of the status of faults they reported. There is a feature to leave comments on a fault report, but drivers are not notified of those comments. Also, there is a feature to alert drivers if they miss a report or to send them reminders, however, it only sends these notifications via the app for drivers, so they would have to be logged in to see it. Sending text messages directly to the drivers via their personal mobile phones would be much more effective. Review Source ZF Zackary F. Pros The software is easy to implement and doesn't take much tech savvy to figure out. You are able to set your maintenance needs and inspection needs. Everything is adjustable to meet your needs. Cons Being able to message the drivers. Maybe I don't know how to do it yet. But I would like to be able to set the maintenance needs of that asset and make sure the drivers receive a warning pertaining to just their truck. Review Source DS Dave S. It takes alot of the hassle out of Fleet management for the managers as well as the drivers. With the recent addition of the Maintenance section, we've been able to keep better track of upcoming services and certifications resulting in less down time for the fleet. Cons Customization of the reports would be a benefit as well as being able to assign annual inspection dates, for CVIP or other certifications, to vehicles instead of relying on the reminders section. having it auto populate in the maintenance section when due. With the texting and email of the link to down load app made fleet wide assimilation easier than most other new programs. Cons Would love if you could have non-inspections come up on a different reporting system. App could be used for Safety tracking for drivers or vehicles if Accident reports were not treated like regular vehicle inspections. It also meant something when a senior leader of the company visited, took our questions (taking notes of our industry specific feedback/concerns), and projected the assurance he would personally help (his vested interest and ability to direct) to remove barriers of implementation and invest into our success as a partner. Customer service is fantastic and they truly care. Pros Its very easy to use. Whip Around loaded the assets for us and made the transition from paper DVIR's to digital a breeze. They understand if its hard to navigate, it wont be used. Cons Some features like maintenance had to be purchased to get the inspection portion. We only need it for DVIR inspections. Also, integrating a few other options seems to be well heard however not implemented. Feedback was great that other large end users requested the same adjustments, but nothing really happened. Pros With Whip Around we have been able to manage our trucks maintenance in an efficient way. This software allows us to easily see when our trucks are due for a oil change/PM and to keep track of our scheduling. Our technicians are able to complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the software and then it quickly relays the information to our management team. This keeps us organized and ensures our day will run smoothly. Cons On Whip Around there are a lot of features that may overwhelm some customers. From the start I was able to use it with very little to no instruction. Cons There can be a difference between the view of an account when comparing it to the drivers displayed info. Example: I may see inconsistencies with post trip forms being completed. When the driver is asked about it they are able to quickly pull up their completed post trips. June 12, 2022 5.0 We use Whip Around for our fleet of Non-Emergency Medical Transportation vehicles. We need to be in compliance with state and federal regulations on par with ambulances. Whip Around keeps our vehicles properly inspected by drivers, and stocked with all the required equipment at all times. Pros The ability to track the needs of our drivers without trying to track a flood of emails was a huge draw. The new dashboard tells us everything that needs to be addressed at a glance, every day. Cons We learned through trial and error that organizing our vehicles by their fleet number made tracking easiest. There is a slight, but manageable learning curve. I suggest creating a "Test Car" profile first and looking over what the vehicle profiles ask for. The more information you put in, the more effective the software becomes.
