Tracking vehicles and know up to the minutes status.

Pros

Before whip-around, it was difficult to know the status of the fleet this program and knowing the condition and whereabout of each vehicles is, this eliminates the mystery.

Cons

Sometimes too much information. Sometime too much notification. I am sure I would redefine the information but it seems to be what the other managers prefer.

We used Whip Around for 2+ years to good effect even though it was a bit expensive for our smaller company. They recently doubled our price and charged us for 2 months due to a convoluted cancellation process that is not well laid out in their Terms of Use.

Pros

Simple to Build Forms and track Assets. Fairly Customizable.

Cons

Limitations on some forms. Fees doubled over a weekend. Cancellation process leaves much to be desired. There are better alternatives for cheaper now.

We have had faster communication and less down time. An issue gets reported immediately, and we are able to create a work order just as quickly. Before whip around there would be a lag in communication, sometimes over a day or two.

Pros

It digitalized the inspection process and gave easy access and visual management to the whole team.

Cons

It was a bit confusing at first when creating the inspections. But the templates helped alot!

Our experience with whip around has been positive. We have observed that it has been a great tool to keep the paperwork to a minimum and has cut down all our time managing and filing inspections.

Pros

I like how easy it is to use and the premade templates that directly apply to keeping our crews in regulatory compliance.

Cons

Some of the maintenance management features are left dormant for our particular use.

I like the fact that you can upload pdf, word, or photos and that I can set reminders not only for the drivers, but also the admin staff.

Cons

I believe that there should be a few more reminder options, especially when you have over 10 vehicles that are all different makes, models, and mileage.

How easy it is to train new users, admins and overall view of equipment defects.

The only issues I have had and they are somewhat specific to me, is I want to be able to sort teams a bit differently and add more information to assets.

we started using the app immediately and as a result breakdowns and roadcalls are down 40% from the previous 6 month period. repairs are scheduledmore efficiently reducing down time and I don't have massive bundles of DVIR slips to sift through or store

Pros

I can set reminders to go off on the drivers phones until they have completed their daily inspections, I can go back through the inspections to see who is doing them and who isn't, the app gives me a leader board so I can recognize the drivers that are following new protocols as requested

Cons

in order to add new drivers or equipment I need to have it done vs being able to just do it myself and there are no generic reports for rental units

So far so great, have been using over a year and great to see the improvements and evolution

Pros

WA is easy to navigate and extremely user friendly. Customer service is also spectacular and always available when needed. It's a very useful tool for fleet management and nice to have a step away from keeping track of paper DVIR's and maintenance with its online and app features.

Cons

Very minimal but some things could be tweaked or more accessible to change on our own.

we have several drivers using the same vehicle on different days. in the past they'd forget to do an inspection and fake it on paperwork days later. now we know day of. if a driver had an issue and didn't report it the next days driver catches it at the beginning of the next shift. pictures tell a thousand words.

Pros

we looked at several options and Whip Around came out on top. it's an off the shelf product that can be customized a bit for our needs

Cons

Doesn't track (gps) our vehicles. but it's not made for that

Whip Around was designed Around the trucking industry, but we have implemented it for use with our fleet of towing vessels. The support team has been amazing and very quick to respond to any questions I've had.

Cons

The ability to set up alerts for my Captains for specific days of the week, without having to make an alert for each day would be a huge benefit.

Unfortunately app is only actually recording around 50% of inspections... "Known Bug" per whiparound - when I noticed and reported this had started happening they told me this was a "known bug". Been a month or more with no fix or update.

I think Whip Around offers a high level of customer support and anytime I have a question I have a real person on the phone within 10 minutes. Even though their chat I am asked, "would it be alright for me to call you and explain over the phone?"

Pros

I am in charge of ensuring all my drivers have their vehicles in good working order and that they are doing regular inspections. With Whip Around I can assign a driver to a vehicle and when that driver takes a vehicle for maintenance I can complete a work order on my side and attach a PDF of the actual invoice showing what work was done! Perfect for what my organization needed.

Cons

So far I have not had any negatives with the software. The only feature I would like to see is the ability to assign a work order to a specific driver. I have my drivers take the vehicles for maintenance, but I must complete the work order on my side. It's not an issue but I have to confirm the driver completed the work order rather than them marking is completed once it's finished.

Whip Around has been very easy to integrate into our operations and our team members were able to use it quickly and effectively from day 1.

Pros

Whip Around has enabled us to become paperless with our DOT and equipment inspections as well as bridge the communication gap between team members in the field and our Mechanics in the shop.

Cons

We hope to see an easy to view repair schedule to become part of the Whip Around dashboard to help plan our repairs when correcting vehicle faults.

We just recently had a training conference call and webinar last week with members of our management team and Whip Around. They were very knowledgeable and informative. CSR was fantastic in answering all of our questions.

Pros

We use Whip Around every day for our Pre and Post Trip Inspections for our entire fleet which is about 30 trucks and drivers. It's very simplistic for the administrator as far as customization. And it's very easy for the end users (our drivers) to use. It also helps our Fleet Maintenance Department track faults and needed repairs.

Cons

Our company has been using this software for the last few years. However, being new to the company, I personally have only been using it for the past 5 months. But so far, I can honestly say, there's not too much this software is lacking.

Really like the program, keep up the great work!

Pros

Overall, the program is great. From a fleet management pov the ability to see the inspection reports, maintenance due and ability to assign work orders for repairs has vastly improved our fleet readiness. The ability to set up reminders for various things like license or medical certification expiration for drivers is a nice feature when they are away from the office.

Cons

I wish there was a way to send drivers a text in the reminders section along with the notification through the app. I can send a text and notification for missed inspection through the exception report tab for missed pre-trips but not for reminders. I have had 2 drivers miss seeing the reminder notification from within the app. Adding the text feature to reminders would help provide another way to ensure they don't miss the reminder notification.

We've been able to reduce down time, accurately track repairs, and keep a regular maintenance schedule with ease since starting with whip around. The whole experience has been great and I am very happy with the decision I made.

Pros

The software is easy to use, the setup is quick and easy and the company overall is great. You can tell that they care about their customers and want to improve their product to suit our needs. I love being able to track all of the maintenance that has been done instantly every day, it has improved our maintenance program immensely.

Cons

There are really only a few things that I would like to see change, but they're minor inconveniences overall. First, I wish I could create a work order without a fault being required. I would like to just manually enter information about a fault and create a work order all in one step. Second, I would like to be able to search/ enter work that was performed on a machine by the parts that were replaced and the fault that caused them to fail. Right now I just have to do some digging to figure out which fault I need to look at again.

Pros

The Whip Around app has proven to be invaluable to monitor the status of my fleet of box trucks on a daily basis. We require the drivers to inspect each vehicle after every shift to ensure damages are not slipped through the cracks. It has also allowed us to keep the vehicle cabs cleaner and identify any deficiencies immediately. I can't imagine running my operation without it. Thank you!

The new 20 asset minimum requirement.

It has been a little confusing at times to set it up and customise forms but as I said there are more than enough tutorials in help and the support team is absolutely fantastic. They know this product inside and out.

Pros

The software is easy to deploy and to customise the way you need it to be. It’s very easy to explain to drivers how to best use it too. If you cannot remember how to do something or find it in help the support team go over and above. I have had great experiences do far.

Cons

I haven’t struck anything I don’t like about it yet.
