Pros: This product is so easy to use and efficiently makes the workplace better. It let you track time, assign tasks, and upload documents that are needed for everyone!

Cons: For the price it could have some better feature like others do. And it takes just a little longer to set things up!

Pros: I like the space. The presentation of the system. I spread apart enough for easy reading for those of us that are not young anymore. I like how easy it is to learn and understand. You could honestly use this system without knowing anything about it.... and pick it up quickly because it's understandable.

Cons: I honestly don't have any complaints about it. I would like to see a way (which there might already be) to automatically track time based on the case you are in so it doesn't have to be done manually.

Overall: You can move fast from screen to screen because of the "easy on the eyes" reading. I have recommended this product to every single firm I have worked at. I have used approximately 5 different systems.. and this is BY FAR the best out there.

Pros: I like that you can tag and add time to events, such as emails that are in the file, it helps save time

Cons: I don't like that when you upload a new document with the same name, (a version document), it will create a new document, instead of a version document. you must go into the previous document and separately upload a version document. I also don't like that you cannot edit anything and must download the file.

Pros: Ease of being paperless as a firm and having all team members access the required information on any case

Cons: At times the system will shut down are take long to load documents. Its also a bit of a pain to have to set up per individual case needs

Pros: how you can keep all docs to a matter in one place and they are easy to find and pull up when you need them

Cons: slows down sometimes and shows an error signal that can be easily fixed by refrshing the page if needed.

Pros: I love that case management and billing are integrated. I like that I can login from any desktop. The notes feature and activities features are very user friendly. The program runs quickly. The performance meter is also nice.

Cons: I wish the apps had more features. For example, I would like to view bills, unbilled time, and balances. I would also like the calendar feature to integrate with my personal calendar (iCalendar). It would be great to have notifications of upcoming events with information about how long it will take me to get to the event from my location.

Pros: Time and billing is intuitive and increased our billing efficiency and collections tremendously. I also really like the ability to keep notes and email communications in each matter.

Cons: I really don't have any faults with Clio. My suggestion would be that the search feature be universal.

Pros: I love that it keeps all the client and matter information in one place. I love that it enables credit card payments, and has integrations with my accounting system, and other integrations to reduce data entry.

Cons: The reporting engine is not that robust yet. There's been an improvement, but it is really hard to visualize the data.

Pros: The seamless integration with Xero is outstanding. The conversion process from PCLAW (after using such for 20 years) was easy and the integration team over delivered. I went paperless and Cloud based a year ago and would not have been able to do it without Clio and their team. Their staff is easy to reach and always answers our questions quickly and teaches us what we need to do and know.

Cons: I know that they are working on the trust integration with Xero accounting and I'm willing to be patient, but I'd like full trust capability in Clio e.g. reporting and without any double entry into Xero and then Clio. There are some new features with this that I have noticed and am happy so far.

Overall: fast use and ease of use and able to access anywhere since Cloud based. I love the Clio app on my phone and how I can access everything I need to for communicating with clients while out of the office or billing while out of the office from my Clio app.

Clio's software and focus on innovation has helped my law firm to thrive.

Pros: Almost everything is centralized, and I can see the core information about a case in a few clicks. All of my calendaring can be connected to each case.

Cons: The focus on integrations has prevented Clio from integrating some otherwise logical features into their own software. Some of the features, like Tasks and Messaging, are so clunky, I'm using other apps.

Pros: The ease of use, ability to access full case info anywhere, and customization. The software is able to make my office be anywhere I am so long as there is an internet connection.

Cons: The inability to do certain things that makes somethings take two tasks. For instance, have a certain task automatically created after a different task is marked complete.

Pros: 1) I can check to see which attorneys or paralegals are working on this case by going to activities, 2) If I cannot understand a voicemail message, they don't leave a name, or only have the phone number, I can search contacts using the filter for the phone number which will bring up the client's name, 3) I can look at the progress of a case, 4) Clio just makes my job easier because of these features.

Cons: However, I do not understand why when creating a folder in Clio, I input the name of the folder, but then I have to go back into edits to designate what type of folder it is, i.e., correspondence, pleadings, statements, notes, etc. Why this second step. It would be more convenient if I could designate what type of folder it is when I am creating it.

Overall: It makes my job easier in finding documents, identifying which attorneys or staff is working on the cases, I can record all activities for payments, and can check to see if a bill has been paid, if I cannot understand a voicemail, I can easily use the filter feature using only the phone number to identify the person who left me the voicemail. I can set reminders for me in the tasks to keep me organized, which is very useful. And, Clio makes billing a heck of a lot easier. I could not do my job without Clio. Well, I guess I could do my job without Clio, but why bother when Clio makes my job easier.

Pros: This product keeps everyone on the same page. It is a great way to assign tasks, upload documents everyone needs access to and allows you to easily track time between clients. It definitely improves workplace efficiency.

Cons: It doesn't have all of the bells and whistles as some of the more expensive software programs. It is time-consuming to set up the tasks and descriptions. You also need to be sure everyone has a clear understanding of what each task is otherwise you can have difficulty keeping accurate track of billing and conversion rates.

Changed the way we run our law firm and integrated our various software into one.

Pros: Cloud based, easy to use and customize, implements requested changes over time, made it much easier to monitor our firm's efficiency.

Cons: The change from the old Clio to the current version was a little clunky, there are still some layout changes needed (should be able to run statements of account from the matter screen, not just the billing screen).

Overall: Efficiency and ease of use.

Pros: How easy it is to set up and navigate. The automated documents options are fantastic as is the dashboard.

Cons: That the task lists do not have the option to be due according to when the previous one is completed (as opposed to dates).

Cons: New Clio is less intuitive than old Clio. Bar across top of screen no longer has all pages easily available.

Pros: The updates keep getting better. At the same time, it is nice to not feel pressured into using the new modes right away. I also like being able to access it from anywhere, so when a thought hits in the middle of the night, I can check into it and get back to sleep!

Cons: When the latest new mode came out, I couldn't get to the help easily, but that has been fixed and I can't say there is anything I like least.

Pros: The ease in which you can immediately start using and utilizing this product. The overall product is good and when you can teach older "dogs" these new tricks, that is just great.

Cons: I do not have anything today that I like "least" about this product. If we have an issue you can talk on-line with someone immediately and get the assistance you need. And if that doesn't work for you, a telephone call and simple enough. And they follow-up with you about your experience.

Overall: Being able to quickly add new clients, enter time, enter expenses and billing. Everything you expect from this type of software, you definitely get and something even more important, ease of use.

Pros: Once you are you using the Clio, the work processes are easier to follow. You can save a lot of time, otherwise spent on administrative work.

Cons: Although the PC version is really great, the app still has a lot of potencial for development. Still do not know where to look for final sum of charged billable hours for all activities done in the matter.
Also a few upgrades would be useful, especially more features regarding team work, co-counsel (e.g. option to create one task and add a co-counsel).

Pros: Ease of use and quick learning curve to on-board new firm attorneys and staff. Functionality is very good for timekeeping and billing. Integrations with LawPay and with Xero for our accounting have been great.

Cons: Still don't look forward to month end billing as it is very time consuming, but the newer version of Clio is much improved.

Pros: Easy to navigate. Love the tasks, it keeps us organized and professional with follow-ups with clients

Cons: Cannot create individual trust listing report per attorney. This slows us down a bit when we review billing. Billing profiles are associated with client, it would be better from a billing standpoint to have it associate with the matter (we have several clients with several matters, which are billed differently)

Pros: The amount of information about a client matter that is at a click of a mouse. It allows us to keep on top of client matters and remember what has been done when a client calls.

Cons: Finding good programs that interface well with Clio. A interface with quick books would cut down on time.

Cons: I have not experienced a feature or function of the software that I like least. I am not the administrator and use the software for a limited purpose.

Pros: Clio is simple to use, with a well-designed user interface. Webinars and instructional videos make it easy to learn about new or previously unused features and take full advantage of the site. The customer support is always friendly and skillful at answering questions and resolving issues!

Cons: I wish that Clio would allow users to set more default settings that would allow users at small and large firms alike to have a customized experience that maximizes convenience and saves time on administrative tasks like recording payment on invoices and specifying matter settings.

I have used Clio since I opened my office and it is fantastic.

Pros: Functionality, simplicity and cost. As a newbie to office management software I was apprehensive about this technology, but my fears went by the wayside with this product.

Cons: I am used to the old Clio and prefer that version. The new version is sleeker but I think the old version worked just fine.

Pros: Super easy to you, very organized, great features for our small law firm! Love the software! Love the time tracking feature and task reminder! New Clio Connect, client portal, has been extremely popular with clients!

Cons: Would like to be able to just edit "one event" of a reoccurring event in the calendar without having to delete and re-create event!

Overall: Client time management and tracking, calendar, task reminders, client online portal, billing, etc

Wonderful to use! Highly recommended.

Pros: The ease of use of the software is amazing. I was on MyCase and transferred over as I could not use TyMetrix on the other software. Highly recommended!!!

Cons: Nothing really. It is easy to use, and wonderful to work with. If anything, I think it's somewhat sterile, but overall, I have no issues with it at all.

Overall: Easy to use. The integration of TyMetrix is amazing. Thank you!

Pros: Speed, overview of our firm's ongiong and previous matters and always accessible, no server connection issues.

Cons: Document editing. It is no secret: We wouldn't have opted for Clio without the Alpha Drive addon for easy document production.

Overall: The most important issue for us was to be able to work on the fly, through a reliable mobile app. We also had to take GDPR into consideration.

It has made my practice far more effecient.

Pros: The easy hyperlink movement and ease of use. I like the ability to easily create tasks that are linked to each matter. I like the billing platform and the ease at which I can invoice clients.

Cons: It has a few bugs that need development attention but nothing that would keep me from continuing to use it.

Pros: One-stop solution for running your practice. Nice interface, and excellent integrations with 3rd-party services. I looked at several different solutions, but in the end, Clio had more functionality and polish than other options.

Cons: Somewhat of a learning curve. Could be intimidating to someone that has no experience with billing/ accounting software.

Clio is the top of the line practice management software for lawyers.

Pros: That I can do everything from track my time to manage the balance in my trust account without using multiple apps or software.

Cons: That there is not an option for expenses to be paid before attorney hourly time. This is important for small businesses (small firms).

Pros: CLIO is an easy to use full service case management software package. We literally have no limits with this platform. We love using the time feature, creating new template for efficiency, and the integration with tons of other applications. I like the ability to switch back and forth with the new interface, and If we do have questions, the customer service has always been great.

Cons: The biggest issue I have is technical. Sometimes the servers will be busy and we can't access our documents through CLIO or other times we won't be able to generate documents due problems in the cloud. These problems never last long (maybe a few hours), but we rely on this software a lot so it can be a big deal when it happens. Nothing is perfect and we don't encounter these problems often.

Overall: Mobile access, ease of use, multiple useful features.

Good experience and access while in court as long as there is a wi-fi connection.

Pros: I love calendaring events and to-dos on the fly when out of office. I do not use the billing function in our office but the case management features are great. We love being able to have an electronic version of our pleadings on file by upload during trials.

Cons: My assistants do wish that you had the ability to make changes to events and to-dos for multiple people at the same time. We have also had some difficulty in losing events if we do not have wi-fi connections when we try to insert calendar data.

Valuable case management program for a solo practitioner at a fraction of the cost.

Pros: Here are all of the awesome features: billing, case management, contacts, document upload, bank account management, including IOLTA Account, financial metrics, and reports. I understand Clio now offers court calendar deadlines. That alone is worth the price of Clio if anyone had to calculate deadlines manually or have had a very expensive court calendaring program. I haven't tried it yet because I don't pay for the highest tier.

Cons: Calendaring. I hate having to manually put in everyone's reminder dates for deadlines. I have to do this for every calendar entry. If I was calendaring pretrial deadlines, I'd be spending a half day calendaring. If there was a way to do batch reminders for a certain case, that would be ideal, especially if the same people are assigned to one case and the reminder (tickler) deadlines are the same across the board.

I have been a user for approximately 3 years. My secretary and I each have an account.

Pros: It is easy to use and intuitive. it incorporates everything all in one place. There isn't any practice management activity I can't do with it.

Cons: The billing function is slightly cumbersome compared to other platforms I have used in the past. It has features that are geared towards a larger firm, and can get in the way at times.

Overall: streamlined and organized practice management. Makes my life easier, which is all that matters.

Clio has helped my firm stay organized and efficient.

Pros: What I like most about Clio is all of the integration options it has. That was key and what put Clio above the rest.

Cons: What I like least is really just a personal preference, but it's that the phone numbers don't automatically format. I also think the billing part could be a little better so that it is easier to view your entries and make edits.

Pros: I like the ability to combine communications, calendar, and contacts into a single integrated software bundle.

Cons: Following the money is hard - the flow is not very intuitive; Also, I want to allocate income between expenses and time.

Overall: primarily billing and keeping track of hours.

I've been using this system for 6 years. Such an easy transition from what we used before.

Pros: Everything is at your fingertips in one location. No changing from one program to another for calendaring, for billing, for note taking and inserting emails into matters.

Cons: Sometimes, not all times, I am unable to delete an event. I, with the help of the support team, have figured out how to get around that. I'm sure it is something I am doing or not doing, but again, I can still get around it and delete the event eventually. That is not a major concern.

Overall: Multi-tasking at its best! Everything is in one location, one program. Calendar, billing, note taking, etc. I'm sure there are many more features, I just haven't learned them yet. Change is never easy, but Clio has a great support staff to connect to however you like to communicate. Whether it be by phone, email or online chat. The transition from the several different programs we used prior to Clio was so smooth.

Best software I've used since I bought my first PC!

Pros: Ease of use in all modules. You can pick and choose what works for you. They are responsive to your needs and requests and customer service is as good as it gets in the industry. No glitches yet.

Cons: There are a couple of things I'd modify but they are not sufficiently material to complain about. Also, I'm not real good at accounting and although their billing and accounting systems are simple, they are not as simple as I am. Someone else in the office does it all easily for me.

Overall: Totally organizes my practice.

Clio is by far the best law practice management available today.

Pros: Clio houses all of your matters, contacts, file notes, court deadlines, documents, and even client billing all on one system. Our firm utilizes Clio's ability to seamlessly sync the calendar and matter documents with Google calendar and Google Drive. This was the deciding factor for our firm.

Cons: As with anything, there is always room for improvement: the ability to edit transactions already added into Clio instead of being forced to delete and re-enter the information would be useful. Also, the reporting features aren't very vibrant but are definitely helpful.

Clio is the hub of my practice. Prior to clio I had a patch work procedures. Clio streamlined it all

Pros: Ability to track everything (notes, billing, contact information, paperwork....) and keep things together.

Cons: Sometimes the user interface is difficult to use. I know part of it is me but at times hard to complete running reports, adding a contact and small things. Also I save most of my emails to clio and the the way you look them up or the show up is not that clear.

Overall: Saves me time, stress and money!!!

Comments: I run a small firm. I paid a lot of money per month for Clio. It is the worst software I've ever encountered. They lied to me so many times during setup and told me they had features that they did not. It is the most user unfriendly software I've ever dealt with. They refuse to give any refund, so I'm locked into a contract at more than /month. I'm switching to Practice Panther immediately.

Pros: I particularly like that the program is cloud based so I can easily access it from multiple devices. I'm able to download the app from Google Play and I can customize to each device used.

Cons: Some of the calendaring and task commands could be simplified, but all in all easy to use. The calendar could be bigger on the screen and it would be nice to have an a.m./p.m. toggle so it's not necessary to actually type a.m./p.m.

Overall: Great convenience and ease of access anywhere.

Pros: Time tracker. I was able to log calls and know all of the time I was able to I was spending on a case. It's great that it integrates with primafacie now (an immigration software).

Cons: Billing, templates and workflows. Very primative. I must have done an one on one training few times and when I asked questions, I was always referred to a link for tutorials.

Pros: What is best? There is so much. The Dashboard (to see instantly how the I am doing, and for each client so I can see how much time and billing has occurred on each matter and easily find the information I need); Time keeping, invoicing, secured email, email drop (to easily put emails into client matters in Clio and free up inbox space, ) and DOCUMENT TEMPLATES with Custom Fields -- I have automated my engagement letter, a basic client letter, will forms, POAs, etc. It saves so much time. To write a letter and not have to look up an address or block/copy it is so nice. You generate the document and edit to start typing the body right away. It requires work on the front end but in the end it is worth it. Also, the customer service being one click on a chat icon away is great. They are so friendly and talked me through invoicing each month for the first few months.

Cons: The customer service and training videos are great but sometimes it feels like an Easter egg hunt to find out what all it can do. I spent the first 8 months just keeping time and doing invoicing. I knew it did other things but wasn't sure what and how. Once I started digging around I have been amazed at what all I have found. It has saved so much time and made things for a solo attorney so much easier. I am sold.

Overall: There are too many to mention. I was only looking for conflict management software and didn't know if I needed a case management software because I am a solo attorney that is just starting out. It turns out that Clio does so much more. The timer feature lets you track work on different matters and easily switch to a different matter when a phone rings or interruption happens. You don't lost time. The billing is clean, neat and easy. After that you can move on to so many other options -- document automation, cloud storage, phone logs, email logs, quick and easy email drop. I have been here less than a year and I wouldn't switch. I am so pleased with Clio and how it makes the business end of practicing so much easier.

Overall, this software helps me keep track of everything going on in the office all in one place.

Pros: Clio is cloud-based which allows me to use it from anywhere instead of only at my desk. It is user friendly and allows electronic billing. I like that it integrates easily with Lawpay so that my clients can pay easily with the click of a button. Clio is also very inexpensive, which is nice because I run a small office with only four attorneys.

Cons: Some things are not as easy to use in the new version of Clio, so I think there are perhaps some bugs to work out. For instance, reports seem to print strangely. I appreciate that I can still use the old version when I want to do so.

Clio goes anywhere I have internet, & keeps me apprised of everything I am or should be doing.

Pros: It is able to make your billing and invoices look lawyerly and send them directly to the clients with a button linked to your LawPay account. It looks like it will be easier to capture time using an app on my phone than my prior systems of keeping a spreadsheet.

Cons: It can be overwhelming how many videos you have to watch to learn how to do things. I wish it was more like an Apple product that is easy to figure out without watching training. Also, the support people will call you all of the time if you show any interest in a free trial or subscription.

Pros: Customer service is best ever. Cloud based and always improving features. 90% intuitive to lawyer work flow.

Cons: Have to use outside accounting software. A few intuitive features I would prefer such as better email integration and fast default view of WIP vs Retainer balance. Quick add Task function from any page.

Overall: Cloud portability with easy access to relevant information compiled by team collaboration

Pros: We have a high volume practice and the ease of moving between matters is awesome. Having all of our file information at the touch of a button is great. Our entire practice is on my iPhone and can be accessed from anywhere. Also, the upgrades usually are, in fact, upgrades as opposed to change for the sake of change. We have used Clio since we opened on January 1, 2012 and we are miles ahead of where we thought we would be due to this amazing, cost-effective too. We could not be happier.

Cons: I did not like the overhaul of the document management system. However, it has clearly improved and is much more functional. Other than that, we are thrilled with the functionality, simplicity of use, and cost effectiveness of the app.

I have tried a lot of billing programs. This in is my favorite.

Pros: I love that it's online, so can't break if your computer changes or goes on the fritz. I use the timer all the time, but it's easy to change if you ever forget to stop or start the timer.. I like that I can set shortcuts for words. I enjoy that I can email bills to clients. Customer service has been great every time I call, which has been quite a few times, especially at the beginning.

Cons: I don't find it very intuitive, so it's a bit hard to learn. I want to request an "evergreen" retainer and I don't believe the program is able to do that yet, though I have heard the company has it in the works.

Pros: Before new Clio, the product worked great and met our needs. New Clio's "improvements," particularly with billing, added a number of useless steps and made the task or receiving a payment more time consuming and less functional. Before it was a button click to find the bill, a click to close a matter associated with the bill, and a click to "receive payment." Not now.

Cons: The "new" Clio isn't really very helpful and is less user-friendly than the previous version. And the iPad version is a joke. Try to manage bills from you iPad, even receive a payment, and you'll go right back to your desktop - or you won't be able to get the job done. This is a great case of designers and programmers not understanding how their clients work.

Pros: I have been a paralegal for 15+ years, always working for small one attorney offices. In October I changed to my current position. I had never used Clio before then. It was very easy to get the hang of. I watched a 3 minute YouTube "how to" video to learn the basics. You can figure out how to do something just by clicking and looking. Nothing is too difficult to navigate or find.

Cons: When I add an event to a different user's calendar (double click on their calendar to add), it defaults the event to me being the owner. If I am clicking under "their" calendar, it should change the event owner to them, not myself.

We live and breathe this software every day!

Pros: Great customer service and the fact that Clio listens to its clients in terms of software revisions.

Cons: There aren't enough reports that you can create based on custom fields. It would be nice to be able to pull reports on ANY field within our customization. Example... we like to know how clients heard about us and have a custom field called "referral sources". It would be great to be able to export a report into Excel then to sort it by referral source.

Pros: I love the time management feature. I get accurate time on all cases with the click of a button. Also, I like that I can search key words in the search bar to find what I need. Clio is the most valuable program to our firm. Clio is very easy to use so training a new employee isn't a hassle and doesn't take much time.

Pros: Clio is a robust software that excels at overall matter management for the attorney and it provides the ability for the client to have instant access to specific documents, calendars, and a form of secure communications. Clio reduces the amount of unnecessary phone calls, emails, and general office expenses.

Cons: Clio needs to update client billing. Currently clients are unable to pay past due balances from a current invoice. This should be a basic feature and in addition any payments should automatically be billed against the oldest invoice first.

Overall: I am more productive and efficient using Clio. All information can entered and is accessible anywhere at anytime. This software has freed up hours of my time per week which allows me to spend more time with family, friends, or making new business connections.

Pros: I very much liked that it was so inclusive calendaring, time tracking, tasks, billing, etc. all being in one place is very helpful.

Cons: This is not about the software, but in my opinion, service is just as important as the product itself, and I unfortunately found Clio's customer service to be lacking. As my trial was coming to an end, I received a sales phone call at 6am, and the representative was pressuring and rude.

Pros: It's easy to manipulate and the customization allows us to confirm it to our needs. There are several options to set up fields and it's easy to create custom documents.

Cons: During a software integration, we lost an entry field and are having difficulties retrieving it. W didn't lose the content in the existing matters, but now, that content won't populate in our documents. All of our existing clients are affected.

Overall: Our clients can pay online now and we can easily update matter information. All our the necessary documents and information is available anytime on mobile devices so if the information is needed while in court, it's easy to access.

It's an awesome product. Very easy to use and saves significant amount of time.

Pros: Practice Management Features. Clio produces an opportunity to run the law from your smart phone or tablet from anywhere, anytime. You're no longer required to be in the office to get work done. The flexibility and user friendly functions of Clio increases efficiency for a modern law firm.

Cons: Integration with QBO and Xero needs improvements. Clio is still primarily a practice management tool, thus requiring a separate accounting/bookkeeping software like QBO/Xero.

This software has changed the way I manage clients and time in the most efficient way.

Pros: I am able to track time spent on a matter right as I am working, instead of going back in at a later time and guesstimating. No more lost time or hours spent calculating my own time.

Cons: I do not like how text snippets are not universal between all users. Each individual has to go in and add their own text snippets in order to use them which seems redundant.

Pros: The document merging feature and the ability to track time/expenses have made it so that my firm functions efficiently and effectively.

Pros: Easily add, edit and/or delete calendar entries and share with others. I very much like the ease in adding billable time and expenses.

Cons: Case contacts - adding, editing, and assigning a new contact is a clunky procedure that is not intuitive.

Overall: Connecting information across the board for our law firm makes it easy when multiple people are assigned to a case.

Pros: It does a great job organizing various aspects of legal case management in one program for an affordable price, especially for a small law firm.

Cons: Utilizing all of its features, especially the more sophisticated activities of setting of templates and form files is not intuitive. While the seminars are helpful, it would be much easier to have support that can walk you through the process. After over a year, we are frustrated by not having the skill or the time needed to do all of the things the program should allow us to do.

Pros: I was very excited when my firm purchased Clio, because I had been begging them to implement practice management software for two years. Clio has many features, and I believe the most number of integrations. I love how Clio organizes your timers; you can start and stop timers, assign them to a contact, and it automatically saves them at the end of the day. This is by far the best timer feature I have seen in the many practice management softwares out there. The dashboard contains nice graphics that show you your targets for the day, month, and year, and where you are against those targets.

Cons: The notes feature is a tiny box that does not have any formatting capability whatsoever. The documents feature requires that you download a copy of a document, save it to your hard drive (or external source such as Dropbox), and then re-upload it to Clio.

Clio has made my practice more efficient and less stressful

Pros: The software is cloud-based, and therefore is platform agnostic -- this makes it easier to onboard new attorneys and to permit a bring-your-own-device policy

Cons: The New Clio rollout has had some hiccups in the time keeper, which can reset or lose time occasionally

Cons: Some of the features are not intuitive, and therefore the program is not the most user friendly If you stop using it and want to rejoin it is a pain because the program won't allow you to simply input credit information - I had to go through Clio customer service

Pros: It's easy and intuitive for staff to figure out. Because it's built for lawyers, it seems like there's very little training time involved. Their customer support is also outstanding.

Cons: Clio promotes a few features that really aren't very useful. Document automation is really just mail merge. Tasks aren't very easy to use without comments. Notes are just a little text box on the page, without any sort of saving, formatting, or any other features that a lawyer would need when actually taking notes.

I wish they spent less money on marketing and advertising, and more on product development.

For the price, it's about 30% of my monthly technology spend. But it's nowhere near that in terms of value. I got much more value out of other software products.

Very solid all-in-one product for law firm management.

Pros: It is nice to be able to handle billing, basic accounting, document management tasks in one place. It is great to be able to easily see what invoices haven't been paid, etc. on the dashboard.

Cons: I would like to be able to enter time entries in batches, across multiple matters. I would like the option for the software to be either client-based OR matter-based. And I absolutely, 100% dislike the fact that the payments function prompts only for the "new" charges on any invoice rather than the full balance due. (Meaning that past-due balances remain unpaid until the client backtracks to the original invoice.)

Overall: Cost-effective practice management / integrated payment capabilities.

Comments: I highly recommend Clio Software.

Pros: This efficient software has everything you need to successfully run your law firm! The recent update made all of the features faster and easier than ever before.

Cons: The Clio software does require some training to learn how to use effectively. Then again, doesn't most software?

Cons: I want more features. Automated client intake. Project management like asana. These features work.

Pros: The billing systems is intuitive and easy to use. I especially like the new ability to finalize and apply trust in one swoop.

Cons: The inability to cleanly set a contact person for each client and have that person receive the bill. The syncing with quickbooks often causes issues.

Overall: Efficiency.

Pros: Clio has an easy-to-use interface with a broad selection of features and integrations. Other PM softwares are clunky and lacking. Even their app shines in comparison to other products. Clio nails customer service, too - there are a half dozen ways to self-serve and if you can't figure it out yourself, there's always the chat bot on the home screen, or the toll-free customer service line.

Overall: Really. Clio makes it 1,000% easier to be a true solo practitioner. From timekeeping to billing and conflict checks to client portals, Clio has all bases covered at the click of a mouse (or the flick of your finger on your mobile device).

Clio can be easily mastered by the technology novices

Pros: The ease & intuitiveness of the program for people who are not comfortable using technology. Clio helped automate & streamline many aspects to my job.

Cons: Billing Invoices - should be easier to customize and include past due amount &/or retainer on invoice.

Pros: the capability of printing bills easily and running reports indicating where our referrals are coming from.

Cons: there are some billing issues and report issues that I'm trying to resolve with customer service but otherwise no problems

Pros: I like the Flexibility and customization for different types of law practices, It is easy to use and the customer support is great

Cons: I would like more choices on users use versus view options. There are things some users need to see but do not need to be able to add/change. Would like more options to customize reports

Pros: Inter connectivity with other programs, and easily shared work, assignment, and tracking, between partners and associates

Cons: The finance section is completely nonfunctional for a contingent fee practice because it calculates the fee before deducting costs. This means that the entire dashboard is uninformative and useless, because you cannot record your revenue and income using Clio.

Clio has every feature you could ask for - however, sometimes they are not intuitive at first.

Pros: I like how many features it includes. It leaves me wanting for very little. The invoices look incredibly professional. The integrations fill almost any gap that Clio could possibly leave open.

Cons: Sometimes it is disorganized feeling based on how it is set up so you must make work arounds. This could just be that it is set up differently than I "would" have set it up. I wish I got more notifications: for example when a client logins or views something. There isn't even notifications if clients upload documents or send me messages. Definitely need more notification of what is happening in the software.

Pros: The software is easy to use, easy to understand. The help is built right into the software with their chat feature - making it easy to get help without me having to run around helping them each time. The customer service is fabulous. The company REALLY listens!

Cons: Although there are some things in the software that I wish they had, the product they have created works really well and really helps us function better as a firm.

Overall: The sofware saves our company time, puts our information on the web so it can be accessed from anywhere, and overall just helps us to be more organized.

Comments: It does what it is supposed to do without any headaches.

Pros: Easy sync from smartphone app to desktop application; Add date while in court and it is in my calendar when I get back to the office. Track trust account info easily and keep up to date on all matters

Cons: The app's timer s not intuitive. While it works, every time I use it I essentially have to "re-learn" it! Otherwise, the rest of the app is good.

I have used two other leading legal software programs and Clio knocks them out of the park.

Pros: What do I NOT like about this software. It is easy to use, everything I need is just a click away. Everything in the program works together. You can run your practice from anywhere in this cloud based program.

Cons: There could be shortcuts for certain items in certain places and every time I make a suggestion, Clio says it is a shortcut they are working on.

Pros: 1) Very easy to use; 2) can access from anywhere; 3) no learning curve; 4) easy to set up; 5) easily customizable and layout/setup changes can be quickly made and reversed with no negative effects; 6) integrates with our accounting software; 7) customer feedback directly effects changes in the software; 8) every part of our practice can be integrated into Clio to allow us to work from literally anywhere that has an internet connection, enabling freedom to leave the office without carrying bulky paper files or worrying about our VPN connection.

Cons: Let me preface by saying that I know there are many improvements being made in the software at this moment, which I will expect will fix my complaint. I really wish the reporting options gave more freedom and flexibility. There are custom reports that I wish that I could run as well as running some available reports with different sort or filter parameters. Currently, I have to run dozens of the same report using the filters allowed to get a couple pieces of data off of the last line of a 25+ page report.

Pros: Easy to keep track of client updates within a large firm where multiple clerks and attorneys worked on the same client files.

Cons: Once in a while the notes do not save properly; automated letters cannot be 100% trusted for accuracy.

I have used two other firm management software packages. This is the best of the three.

Pros: The best feature is that the data is in the cloud, so syncing across devices is automatic or access from a new device is easy.

Cons: It would be nice if there was desktop software that locally stored the database and synced the database to the cloud whenever connected to the internet. If the internet goes down - a lot of lawyers are SOL. This is a major concern in places (like where I live) where natural disasters can be expected.

Comments: I have never come across a software solution that will likely bury law firms. I want to give this zero stars but that wasn't an option, just like the others in the software that are basic. STAY AWAY FROM THIS! TERRIBLE

Cons: Absolutely horrible software. Never ever choose this to run your firm. You will be very sorry for setting for an "easy time clock". You cannot protect your data! No audit trail and easy to erase actual transactions without know who did it!

Pros: I went from billing by spreadsheet to Clio. The process in Clio is fast and easy, and now I do not dread the drag of billing.

Cons: I still have some trouble juggling tasks and events. I feel as though I need to review multiple sources to stay on top of my practice.

Pros: Clio is great because it puts everything in one place and it integrates with tons of other apps to make life at the firm easier. It's a one stop shop for keeping track of the calendar, contacts, billable time, expenses, notes, and for saving and sharing correspondence and court documents with our clients. You can filter for just about anything and there are plenty of reports available as well. We also use Clio for billing and keeping track of client trust accounts. Overall, Clio is a great program and it saves our firm a ton of time and money!

Cons: My least favorite thing about Clio is the billing software. For our purposes, it just isn't very user-friendly. We have many clients with multiple matters that need to be billed separately and there's no way to compile all of the invoices for the same client and email them with a single payment link, which leaves us to download and email them separately with a payment link for LawPay (and then we have to individually record each payment). I think for most firms this wouldn't be a problem, but in our case, it takes extra time.

Overall: Clio saves our firm time and money every day. We use it for just about everything!

We started using Clio when we started a new law practice. Looking for "mobile" capability.

Pros: It's in the cloud! No matter where we are, if we have cell service or internet we have our files at our fingertips. It has enabled us to practice anywhere in the state.

Cons: Changing pre-populated forms can be time consuming. I would like to see the intake portion more customizable, some files all I need is a name, contact info and type of file.

Overall: This software has allowed growth in our practice, mobile capability and the capability to share information instantly.

Couldn't practice without it. Excellent customer online and telephone customer support.

Pros: Can practice anywhere, anytime, with anyone. Super easy to use. Has the features needed most in a law practice - ticklers, deadline management, meeting management, timekeeping, trust accounting, integrated invoicing system. The automated document management system allows makes many of our back office functions and production systems much more efficient. Really appreciate how Clio integrates with major cloud software such as Box, Zapier, Quickbooks, etc.

Cons: Old code and an architecture that feels like it was built 10 years ago - which it was. Constantly needing to refresh the screen to get up-to-date information. User pathing for many common tasks are not intuitive. Project management is terrible - a poor cousin to other software such as Smartsheet. Their "Tasks Chains" is a weak substitute. Most of all, as my firm grows beyond 2 lawyers, Clio's solo-centricity is becoming a problem as it lacks the more sophisticated user-access controls and archiving features found in sofware built for larger firms. I AM told that the #NewClio will fix many of this. Would like to update this review once that new platform is released.

Clio is the industry standard for a reason -- it works.

Pros: 1. Easy timekeeping. Clio's timekeeping system is easier than what I was using at BigLaw.
2. Easy bill generation and editing. I can't say enough about this.
3. Easy invoice tracking. 5 minutes a week.

Cons: 1. I wish Clio were easier to integrate with Mac apps such as Fantastical, OmniFocus, Contacts, and Evernote. I use these apps, and Clio, daily. I'm aware of third-party integration apps, but I'm not a big fan of having the user create (and, far more often than not, fix) the integration.
2. I wish that Clio had a contacts section devoted to adverse parties. That would make it easier for conflict of interest reviews.
3. I would like more tutorials so that I can better use Clio's features. Sometimes I feel like I stumble across useful features that I've wanted but didn't know existed on Clio.

I've had a great experience using Clio. It lessens wasted time compared to only using paper files.

Pros: I like Clio's ease of use, and the ability to quickly store and look up information about a matter. A lot of Clio is customizable to a firm's preferences or specific needs which is great. The customer service team is helpful and knowledgeable.

Cons: It's not 100% customizable, but software rarely is. Some pieces of information can't be deleted once a user deactivates their account which can cause minor issues.

Overall: More time to focus on actual work product.
