Our overall experience is positive, and continues to be! Pros What we like most about the software is that it does EXACTLY what we need it to do and stays up and working. The additional WONDERFUL feature is that the support folks are there when you need them, if you ever need them ! When we were looking at upgrades, they went above and beyond to setup and provide us with excellent service. Cons Even when we ported from our physical server to virtual, we did not encounter any issues. No "cons" from us, sorry! The ability to create custom forms with the actual manufacturing system is weak. With Compleo we can create forms for things like customer statements, invoices, bills of lading. We also use to deliver some analytical reports from the system as well. Pros It provides form creation and delivery for our manufacturing system. Cons It takes quite a lot of time and effort to learn how to make Compleo work in the manner that you want it to. My role is application support, which includes deployment, configuration and incident management. First 2 aspects - deployment and configuration - are really very straightforward and well documented. For the incident management in my almost 10 years period supporting the application through many different versions I didn't have really any incidents. It's truly "set it and forget it" Cons In Compleo Explorer (v7.1) we can choose many fields/columns for the browse pane, but we cannot re-arrange them anymore which was possible in previous versions. It took me a very long time to figure out how it worked and how to make it do what I wanted. I had to basically bang on it until I got the result I was looking for. Called support and they said I would have to pay for services. After that, I did get help from support a few times. A descent manual or help text or support that would walk you through the scenario you are trying to conquer would be fantastic and make me love the software more. When the software fails or gets stuck, it is very hard to figure out what the problem is. Pros I like the features and its capabilities. However, there is no good way to see or figure out what it does or how to make it do what you want it to. The first time I called support, they told me I would have to pay for services. Cons User friendliness is non existent. There is no help text. As with any AS/400 hardware or software product, you can add a zero or two to the price compared to the equivilent product on more popular platforms. Pros Once configured, it just works for the most part. We have a number of queues that do various things from sending an e-mail with a text, saving a PDF, etc. Cons The older versions were a lot easier to maintain. The requirement for a Windows license server as compared to installing the license on the AS/400 has greatly complicated the configuration and has made it less reliable. We use this for all Financial Reporting, Operation Detail reports to US Customs & Border Protection, among using it for scheduled reports and emails to the users. Our customers and Customs depends on it daily. Pros I like that I am able to create amazing Excel reports using Compleo for my Mainframe applications. Instead of getting a whole new financial system, we upgraded Compleo and reformatted the reports which my boss now calls, the new Financial system lol Cons That i don't have enough resources to really expand on everything we are capable of doing with it.
