Ability to place notes on board papers for others to see and respond or even making own notes is a fantastic feature, easy to use and loved by all members.
Diligent is great for compiling and distributing board packs. Training and customer care is superb.
Initial live training was good and reference materials are detailed and helpful. It's easy to set up users, and they are happy with the functionality.
Learning the program was a breeze, it is super helpful, intuitive and so quick to collate massive groups of documents month by month. What was board reporting like before this app?!! Brilliant.
Cons
I used to loose notes if you sync new documents.
With multiple presentations, even after upload, all do not align on screen. Delay in advancing presentation as well, in particular off-site meetings.
Trouble with password and access after a period of non-use.
Missed the printing option, but that was my mistake.
"Essential platform for board governance. "
Overall: It was quite positive. Before this software creating board packs was extremely manual and needed a lot of user intervention. Any updates that came in late were in risk of not making it in. there was always the possibioity of incorrect packs being used by members. Storing them was also a pain.
Pros: It allows you to signup for only the modules that you need. It is cloud based and can be used on any device with a browser as well as native iOS apps. It is very easy to create and update books and to keep them updated across all users to ensure the most recent pack is available.
Cons: Some of the user/committee setup needs to be done by customer service. While they are quite responsive it seems unneccessary and they are improving on this. If you have a small board/irregular meetings it may be costly for you.
"A Safe Old School Platform"
Overall: Generally good - it's certainly up there as one of the preferred platforms used by our clients and our internal team. However I do feel they need to seriously compare their offering to others now available on the market to make sure they don't fall behind.
Pros: A few years ago, Diligent was certainly the preferred provider. Although since the move of all historic Diligent-owned platforms (Board Effect etc) it feels as though there hasn't been a lot of investment in developing the platform to make sure it keeps up with peers.
Cons: Compared to other current platforms, it's quite clunky, especially building packs and navigating through them in meetings. The pricing structure also doesn't work for a number of our clients who are now looking to other platforms who provide different fee formats.
"Almost an A plus "
Overall: It’s been very good bordering on excellent. I’ve been a user for several years
Pros: Everything is there and easy to find. I like being able to go back and review previous meetings easily
Cons: During a meeting it is not easy to flip between pages and see the page numbers. Some updates have removed better functionality from awhile sip

Overall: My experience has been very good and seamless transition from previous portal - very user friendly. [sensitive content hidden] has been a really great help and his promptness to my questions are much appreciated and evident. It truly goes a long way.
Pros: Very user friendly which makes creating books seamless and easy, secure sharing and everything is available in 1 platform for all board members. Easy to communicate to them through the platform.
Cons: Little details that are manageable but having to have the same # of pages when you replace with options, having to re-link your full agenda if there is a change made, not being able to upload videos rather than getting a link
