Manager Computer Software Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Our board still keeps us in line and organized" October 28, 2025 4.0 Gone are the days of wrangling a board pack comprised of multiple PDFs in an email thread. It provides me with an organized, up to date single location in which to store and share everything, So much more efficient for board prep and communication. It’s simplified our governance process and eliminated a great deal of manual work that we used to have to do before every meeting. Pros I use Diligent Boards to run our board meetings, designing and distributing materials to gathering approvals and signatures. The coolest thing is how easy it is to both tweak and share board books, even at the last moment. It saves a ton of time because I don’t have to repost entire packets when one document changes as everything is always up to date and organized for the board. Cons Sometimes the interface seems a bit dated and could do with some better navigation such as when I want to go back and forth between two sections or browse through past documents. Some of our less tech savvy directors still have to be reminded about how to access or sign materials but that can slow you down. Review Source MY Maria Y. Pros It is incredibly user-friendly and comprehensible, so much so, that I rarely need to reach out for assistance regarding functionality. Further, the customer service is responsive with impressive follow-through. I have worked with corporate boards for over 25 years and this is by far the most "intelligent" platform I have ever used. Being able to construct a board book, make changes, control the access of not only the book but of individual documents and having multiple platforms to view materials (web, mobile, etc.) make Diligent a hands-down choice for me. Pros Easily customizable to accommodate individual boards User-friendly, even for those with limited technical skills Signature voting for \[sensitive content hidden\] to approve consents/resolutions and other documents Cons Replacing a document with annotations is a challenge - the system is designed to maintain the integrity of the document and keep the notes on each designation page. It would be helpful if there was a way for \[sensitive content hidden\] to make notes within a document and the notes would transfer as a "notes page" to accompany the document and allow for replacements or updates without losing the notes. Pros It is extremely easy to create an agenda and post files to Diligent. Also, you can copy prior meetings to create new ones, which is especially helpful if the agenda has few to no changes. Cons Diligent has sporadically been buggy. However, customer support is very responsive. Pros The interface is fairly good. The documents can be scrolled back and forth easily and it does allow for notes and highlights. Cons The menu is often hidden and not intuitive when you are in full screen. Cons There are really no down sides for me. The site was easy to learn and is a one stop resource. The only con is that I did not know of Diligent when I was a non-profit President. Pros What I like the absolute most about Diligent is how much my Board likes it. They are all on multiple Boards and portals, and every one of them says how easy and intuitive Diligent is. Personally, I find it so easy to use; to create my books, make changes, etc. Cons There's been a shift in their support approach that I find frustrating, but if I persist - and I am persistent - I get the end result I need. I'm just not always up to what it takes to get there.
