Manager Computer Software Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Our board still keeps us in line and organized" October 28, 2025 4.0 Gone are the days of wrangling a board pack comprised of multiple PDFs in an email thread. It provides me with an organized, up to date single location in which to store and share everything, So much more efficient for board prep and communication. It’s simplified our governance process and eliminated a great deal of manual work that we used to have to do before every meeting. Pros I use Diligent Boards to run our board meetings, designing and distributing materials to gathering approvals and signatures. The coolest thing is how easy it is to both tweak and share board books, even at the last moment. It saves a ton of time because I don’t have to repost entire packets when one document changes as everything is always up to date and organized for the board. Cons Sometimes the interface seems a bit dated and could do with some better navigation such as when I want to go back and forth between two sections or browse through past documents. Some of our less tech savvy directors still have to be reminded about how to access or sign materials but that can slow you down. Review Source MY Maria Y. Pros It is incredibly user-friendly and comprehensible, so much so, that I rarely need to reach out for assistance regarding functionality. Further, the customer service is responsive with impressive follow-through. Pros It is extremely easy to create an agenda and post files to Diligent. Also, you can copy prior meetings to create new ones, which is especially helpful if the agenda has few to no changes. Cons Diligent has sporadically been buggy. However, customer support is very responsive. Pros The learning modules have demonstrated the ease and confidence of safeguarding the organization's sensitive documents from evolving threats such as cyberattacks. It also provides steps for evaluation in improvements and adopting strategies to increase productivity. Cons I do not have any complaints or concerns at the moment, and it seems that there are many transformative action items that the software can bring. Pros The interface is fairly good. The documents can be scrolled back and forth easily and it does allow for notes and highlights. Cons The menu is often hidden and not intuitive when you are in full screen. It is truly a one stop for my board service. Pros It helps organize my board service in one location including archive material, current material and other resources. Cons There are really no down sides for me. The site was easy to learn and is a one stop resource. The only con is that I did not know of Diligent when I was a non-profit President. Pros Makes creating board books easy and efficient. Cons Would like a better graphic user interface (GUI). The users I support have never expressed frustration using the system as it's very straightforward. The changes I make apply right away (I know some systems require an overnight update to display changes). Pros The portal is easy to use (e.g., creating books; adding or removing users). Cons Does not have the capabilities that were confirmed in pre-contract discussions/demos; unable to edit or rename documents directly in Diligent Boards portal; admin module is not user friendly.
